Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Galarian Slowbro and Slowking were not added in the game. It doesn't appear that the original forms were either. Galar Slowpoke is in and Kanto Slowpoke is partially in (lacks icons). That said they could have just repeated the data to be fixed later. It's not like folks are supposed to have...
Back in the day (spring of 2001 or so) I caught a shiny Ursaring in Pokemon Gold.
I had a different account name in GameFAQs for a while, but got bored and switched it up. Decided to go with Gold Ursaring. Was a digital hanger outer of the GameFAQs boards and some of the other poke...
Dexit has the possibility of creating mutliple metas in a generation.
If a remake of Gen IV came out and was limited to the Pokemon in that Pokedex, would we really be able to bring stuff over from Sword and Shield? ORAS and USUM always replaced the meta, but in the transition nothing was...
What feels incomplete about Dexit is Pokemon Home. How is that going to provide us a place to keep our Pokemon? In what form will they be there? What will I be able to do with my Pokemon in Pokemon Home? What promises of permanence does Home have?
The transfer from Go to LGPE loses a lot of...
We haven't seen any indication that there will be more Pokemon in the post-game. We know Mew is in based on the marketing materials.
We think we're now waiting for any reveals of Pokemon that are in the Galar Dex, but not obtained in regular gameplay. Historically, this has only been reserved...
Definitely an interesting metagame.
I guess we need to hold off on Mythicals until the datamine comes along. There is the remote possibility of some legendaries being treated differently. Wasn't there some talk of special challenges for the raid battles?
This kind of strikes me as an XYish...
I get the need for the franchise to evolve and face the realities that each generation is a burden. In some ways, the best analogy might be to Magic the Gathering. New sets come and take old sets out of circulation, when they do – we get reprints. There isn’t anything fundamentally wrong...
I imagine it depends on the RNG. Most wild Pokemon can never be Shiny with the RBY RNG (only gift, link trade, and stationary Pokemon).
If they did a GSC VC release, things would get a lot more interesting thanks to the breeding mechanics of those games.
We know there is an additional form to Magearna. It's always possible to add additional Pokemon as DLC with a patch (they haven't done so yet).
We may see the release of Floette-E as an event Pokemon and we've got Ash Pikachu. That leaves 4 tangible future distributions (Second Magearna...
55/35/45 Defenses means the distribution is poor with Smeargle.
75 Speed means it's not guaranteed to go first.
There are plenty of ways to take out a Smeargle without it laying down a Sticky Web. Focus Sash means it might require some creativity.
Do Mega Evolutions always have the same ability?
Will Blaze Blaziken mega-evolve into Speed Boost Mega Blaziken?
Do Swarm and Light Metal Scizor mega-evolve into Speed Boost Mega Scizor?
There is a concept that is explored briefly in Pokemon Origins and Black/White 2 that gym leaders suit themselves to the challengers.
I think it would be interesting to open the game up a little more and have the gym leaders toughen up based on how many badges you have.
It would be harder to...
Fortunately with Gen V, Shiny doesn't mean fixed natures (like the Crown Beasts). They could still do that, but I'm skeptical.
That means that standard Genesects can be Shiny or non-Shiny, but the Extremespeed/Shift Gears ones must be Shiny.
