Rhydon is more defensive than rhyperior in my opinion. When it comes to taking neutral physical hits rhydon does the job much better so I wouldn't consider rhyperior completely outclassing it's pre-evo

I recommend pluck, bug bite, protect & u-turn/quick attack for scyther. If you manage to steal a pinch berry it really pays off. Rest is scouting/hit and run

Rhydon is insanely strong physical wall btw. With eviolite it can take even super effective hits without a scratch and hit back like a truck. Special moves destroy it like physical ones destroy blissey. Scald/energy ball are the things you dont want to take hit from. Neutral hits dont hurt him...
