Oh wait, now I'm getting crashes that prevent me from booting the server. Crash loading formats, unexpected identifier... but I can't figure out what its problem actually is.

Look at the symbol next to unexpected identifier. It could be { ( , ; or anything like that. The symbol that's there means there's an extra { or ( or whatever, now you just gotta find it
