A quick summary is that your GXE will lower very marginally as time passes inactive. Sometimes this lowering is so marginal that it gets rounded out and you don't even see the change, which is what makes GXEs appear stagnant sometimes. Eventually, once you are inactive for long enough, your GXE will stop displaying completely.

The length of that "long period of inactivity" for the GXE to disappear is the detail I'm trying to iron out now. From the numbers I've seen your outw31400 account should have already stopped displaying GXE, but one of the values used to calculate GXE has only changed very very slightly when it seemingly should have changed much more, which means the GXE still displays.

Hey, thank you so much for looking into this! I hope it hasn’t been annoying for you but either way, it was kind and considerate of you to put in the effort, so I greatly appreciate it! I’m also not sure why there seems to be a discrepancy in the duration that GXE is displayed for but regardless, you’ve helped clear up a lot for me, so thanks again.

I realized I never got back to you on this and I just randomly got confirmation/the answer in a smogon discord I'm in -
although GXE should always decay (as far as I'm aware) it won't always. the two things that will prompt decay are playing a game or being in the top 500 and having someone check the top 500

your accounts were displaying GXE when they shouldn't have because they weren't decaying, because they were not in the top 500 and no games were being played on them
