Other ORAS Mega Speculation Thread (NO talk about potential bans NOR Aegislash)

Might be worth replacing Substitute with Earthquake or Fire Blast because of resists like Tyranitar, Mega Metagross, Skarmory, etc running around. Otherwise though this thing is a beast.

    Your first Pokemon game

My first Pokemon game was technically Red, in 1999. I was just a wee one back then, and wanted the games because of the Pokemon anime. I was so young at the time that I couldn't read much, and got stuck in Viridian City because a grumpy, stubborn old man was LYING ON THE GROUND (melodramatic...

    Your Breeding/Catching Wins

I hatched a 31/31/25/31/31/31 Adamant Shiny Beldum after over a month of breeding. Hatched two other shiny Beldum before I got this baby, but they had worse spreads. This Metagross is now decorated with every ribbon available in Kalos, and will continue to collect every ribbon in future games.

Are there any Pokemon banned in random wifi battles? If so, what are they?

    Haxorus

You need to watch for both Ice Bean AND Boiling Water. All in all, switching Ononokusu into a bulky water is risky. And a 2x SE move with 95 Base power will not be doing "shit for damage" to something with 76/70 defences and no investment, even if the user is bulky.

    R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

You didn't say you had to be a great player, you said it would be difficult if you were a crap player. From that we can assume a decent player could manage to get a few correct guesses, right? And I know what stage the metagame is in, thanks. Which is why we shouldn't let our Gen IV ideas...

This actually works against Shanderaa, because if you know your opponent has one you'll be more careful about what you do. Whereas if you didn't, Shanderaa could creep up at a random moment and eliminate a vital Pokemon. Shanderaa Sazandora Salamence Zoroark Jirachi Gengar 6 Pokemon that came...

    R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

I think they call it "Generation V". Nah, if a person knows their opponent has a Zoroark they'll be second-guessing themselves, which could lead to some mistakes.

I was thinking about 3 vs 3 in that case (ala PBR random battles and apparently B/W random battles), where you wouldn't be able to take all of your Pokemon into the fight. It's a fair bit tougher to prepare for something when you don't have a clue on what it can do, which was my point there. I...

    R.I.P. Leads and Scouting

Gen II brought the Special split. Gen III introduced abilities, IV/EV overhaul. Gen IV gave us the physical/special move split. And here I was, sad that Gen V was IV with new Pokemon, moves and abilities. Then this came along and made my day. For most of the latter half of Generation IV I...

    Ferrothorn

When two Pokemon with Shadow Tag are facing each other, each one can switch out. So Shanderaa won't be trapping other Shanderaa unless they're lacking Shadow Tag.

    Ditto

Assuming Gyarados doesn't have Overconfidence. I think Ditto is being overhyped. Sure you can outrun the enemy, but you can only choose one move + you're locked into it + have 5 PP. Without too many stat boosts, the foe can predict what Ditto will do (which will be relatively easy, because they...

    Hydreigon

    1. Infernape is hardly scary in a generation with things like Shanderaa, Burunkeru, Drizzle Politoed, Boiling Water and Urugamosu roaming about, among other things. 2. Because Sazando is utilizing both of its attacking stats with Cheer Up, less set up is needed; it can just attack from the stat...

No, I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that ground types are still immune to Thunder Wave. Does anybody know if Choice items/Focus Sash/Leftovers have returned?
  16. Familiar Trainer

    Hydreigon

True, although usually you'd have to sacrifice something to Shanderaa or predict the switch to Shanderaa first. Because of Shadow Tag, you can't make the normal "oh, switch to Pokemon that can take the hit" move.

    Hydreigon

Because we can't just assume things. You know, because nobody was saying "Scizor will be deadly when it gets Bullet Punch" when D/P was released. When the moves/items/whatever comes, then people will talk. Forget Draco Meteor, I'm not even sure if Choice items have even returned this gen...

Pokemon Black and White (SPECULATIONS ALLOWED HERE)

Hmm, I wonder if Ononokusu will be BST 600? Seeing as how the Dark/Dragon hydra is located close to the legends in the Pokedex it makes me think that perhaps the hydra will be the BST 600 of this generation and Ononokusu might have a BST of 500-540. Of course we could always have two, like with...

Pokemon Black and White (SPECULATIONS ALLOWED HERE)

Well, let's just say a Garchomp on an Outrage after a Swords Dance is a lot more difficult to stop when you don't have a Lugia/Groudon/etc on your team ;) That said, I don't think a new type will be introduced. I think we would have heard about it by now because of the hype it would have created.
