[OVERVIEW]

Abomasnow is a decent wallbreaker with a great offensive typing, a good movepool, and decent offensive stats. It also has a great ability in Snow Warning, which allows it to spam Blizzard without a fear of missing, constantly wears down foes, limits certain healing moves such as Musharna's Moonlight, and puts a stop to weather teams. These attributes let Abomasnow perform a wide variety of roles, most notably as a mixed wallbreaker, a Choice Scarf user, and a Swords Dance sweeper. However, one of Abomasnow's major setbacks is in its Speed. This, combined with its terrible defensive typing, allows many Pokemon to KO it relatively easily. Abomasnow's offensive stats can also be underwhelming at times, as it cannot easily break past Pokemon such as Clefairy and Type: Null. Abomasnow is also easily worn down by Stealth Rock and potential recoil from Life Orb and Wood Hammer. Furthermore, it faces a lot of competition from other wallbreakers, particularly Aurorus which is slightly stronger and has better defensive typing and Speed. However, Abomasnow's niche comes from its near-unresisted combination of STAB moves and coverage.

Moves
========

Blizzard serves as Abomasnow's main STAB attack, and its high Base Power allows Abomasnow to hit bulky Pokemon such as Palossand, Weezing, and Alolan Exeggutor. It also does not have to worry about missing thanks to Snow Warning. Giga Drain is another STAB move that supplies coverage against Water-types and some other Ice-resistant Pokemon, such as Carracosta, Lanturn, and Aurorus. It also gives Abomasnow a form of recovery that pairs well with Life Orb. Wood Hammer is an alternative Grass-type STAB move that can hit certain specially defensive threats such as Clefairy and Munchlax, but it causes Abomasnow to take significant recoil damage. Earthquake gives Abomasnow a way to hit Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on the switch in. Focus Blast is an alternate coverage option over Earthquake that still hits Steel-types and also hits certain Pokemon that are neutral to Earthquake such as Ferroseed and Thick Fat Miltank. However, it enables Pokemon such as Magmortar to switch in on Abomasnow much more safely. Ice Shard allows Abomasnow to threaten faster foes and KO frailer or weakened Pokemon, such as Archeops, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed and a Life Orb let Abomasnow hit as strong and fast as possible. A Hasty nature allows it to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Aurorus and Modest Ludicolo. Abomasnow can also run a Mild nature in order to hit harder at the cost of being outsped by the aforementioned threats. In both cases, a Defense-lowering nature is used over a Special Defense-lowering one so Abomasnow can more easily check certain special Water- and Grass-types, such as Gastrodon and Lilligant, without weakening its physical attacks. Snow Warning increases the accuracy of Blizzard, whittles down foes, and restricts the recovery of Pokemon like Musharna to ease Abomasnow's attempts to break through them.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow should be used to break slower and bulkier foes such as Drampa, Palossand, Gastrodon, Weezing, and Sableye. This should be done early- to mid-game so that late-game sweepers and cleaners can have an easier time fulfilling their roles. Be wary that many of these bulkier Pokemon will switch out immediately when Abomasnow is brought in, so be prepared to double switch or use Earthquake or Focus Blast in order to KO a predicted Fire- or Steel-type switch-in. Abomasnow can also wear them down over time, as they take a decent amount from Blizzard and hail's chip damage. Abomasnow should not switch directly into attacks, as it needs to stay as healthy as possible in order to effectively wallbreak. It can be brought in with a slow U-turn or Volt Switch user, such as Mesprit or Lanturn, or after a teammate has been KOed. Abomasnow can also make use of aggressive double switches to come in safely. Ice Shard should be used to revenge kill weakened faster foes such as Archeops and Lilligant. It can also be used against foes such as Alolan Exeggutor under Trick Room. Abomasnow can take advantage of Giga Drain to regain health lost from Life Orb recoil, entry hazards, or any other forms of damage.

Team Options
========

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Floatzel and setup sweepers such as Alolan Raichu, Carracosta, and Lycanroc appreciate Abomasnow's ability to break down bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon so that they can more easily clean late-game. Fire-type checks such as Regirock, Gastrodon, and Clefairy can help against Pokemon such as Magmortar and Pyroar that can give Abomasnow trouble. Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan can also give Abomasnow issues, so Pokemon such as Spiritomb, Oricorio-G, and Silvally-Fairy can come in handy. Slow pivots such as Mesprit and Lanturn can take hits in order to bring Abomasnow in safely. Mesprit can also serve as a check to Fighting-types, a Stealth Rock setter, and a form of late-game support with Healing Wish. Stealth Rock and other entry hazards work well with hail to whittle down foes such as Regirock and Lanturn, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through. Good examples of hazard setters include Palossand and Weezing. Conversely, Abomasnow dislikes having to take damage from entry hazards, especially Stealth Rock, so hazard removers such as Skuntank and Hitmonchan can keep Abomasnow healthy. Finally, Abomasnow can form a decent core with Alolan Sandslash, which takes advantage of Snow Warning thanks to Slush Rush and breaks through certain special walls such as Clefairy. In return, Abomasnow can break through certain physical walls like Weezing.

Moves
========

Blizzard is Abomasnow's strongest STAB option, and it hits Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G super effectively. Giga Drain is Abomasnow's Grass-type STAB attack that gives it a form of recovery and hits some Pokemon that resist Blizzard such as Lanturn, Kabutops, and Aurorus. Focus Blast gives Abomasnow coverage for Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Aggron, as well as other Pokemon such as Miltank, that would otherwise wall Abomasnow. Earthquake hits Fire-types such as Magmortar and Combusken and can hit Steel-types like Togedemaru more reliably than Focus Blast. It also allows Abomasnow to 2HKO physically frail Pokemon such as Jynx. Energy Ball can be run over Giga Drain for slightly more power, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to regain health.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed maximize Abomasnow's offensive presence. A Choice Scarf, when combined with a Naive nature, allows Abomasnow to outspeed everything under base 115 Speed, such as Archeops and Oricorio-G, and it also lets Abomasnow outspeed some boosted Pokemon such as +2 Carracosta. Snow Warning, on top of giving Blizzard perfect accuracy, can be used to stop opposing weathers, which lets Abomasnow revenge kill weather sweepers such as Kabutops, Shiftry, and Stoutland. A Naive nature is used so that Abomasnow does not weaken Earthquake and takes minimal damage from priority attacks.

Usage Tips
========

With a Choice Scarf, Abomasnow can serve as a decently fast wallbreaker; it is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switch-in for Abomasnow's attacks. It does well against weather-based teams, as it can be brought in on a free switch or on a predicted move like Swords Dance on Pokemon such as Kabutops and Leafeon. Negating the weather, Abomasnow is then able to outspeed them and pick up the KO. Its Speed also allows Abomasnow to serve as an overall decent revenge killer and cleaner. On top of being brought in after a teammate is KOed, it can also be brought in with the help of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn. These methods are used to bring Abomasnow in because it is rather frail and needs to stay healthy to perform its role optimally. Your opponent can struggle to predict Abomasnow's item from Team Preview, so it can take advantage of this to lure in otherwise faster threats such as Magmortar and Togedemaru that would generally stay in against it or come in to revenge kill it. However, be wary that without an item that boosts its power, Abomasnow's damage output can be somewhat underwhelming at times, so it often requires foes to be weakened before it can KO them. Also stay aware that once Abomasnow's Choice Scarf has been revealed, it becomes much easier for the opponent to play around.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers such as Oricorio-G and Alolan Raticate appreciate Abomasnow's ability to lure in and take out faster threats such as Archeops. In return, these setup sweepers can weaken the opposing team before Abomasnow comes in to clean. Wallbreakers like Magmortar are also good partners for this reason. Alolan Raticate can also support Abomasnow by using Knock Off on faster Choice Scarf users like Togedemaru and Pyroar. Entry hazard setters such as Mesprit and Golurk can help whittle down the opposing team, making it even easier for Abomasnow to clean. Mesprit can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot and with a late-game Healing Wish. Eelektross is another good partner that can support Abomasnow with Knock Off and bring it in safely with a slow Volt Switch. While Abomasnow can serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner, it is not the best way to keep faster foes in check, so teams may want a second Choice Scarf user to more reliably fulfill that role, such as Primeape or Togedemaru. Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock and other hazards, Abomasnow appreciates having a form of hazard removal on its team, such as Hitmonchan or Silvally-Fairy.

[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance

item: Grassium Z / Life Orb
ability: Snow Warning
nature: Jolly / Hasty
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Abomasnow's Attack stat, allowing it to more easily break through certain walls such as Clefairy and Eelektross. Wood Hammer serves as Abomasnow's main Grass-type STAB attack, hitting Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Gastrodon, Regirock, and Palossand, although using it comes at the cost of taking a good amount of recoil. Bloom Doom coming from Wood Hammer more easily breaks through bulky foes such as Gurdurr and Type: Null, and it also ignores the recoil of Wood Hammer. Seed Bomb is an alternate option over Wood Hammer when running a Life Orb because it does not deal additional recoil damage. Ice Shard is Abomasnow's best way to make up for its lackluster Speed; it hits Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G and can be decently powerful when combined with a Swords Dance boost. Earthquake hits Steel-types such as Aggron and Probopass, which can otherwise take any attack except +2 Bloom Doom. It can also be used to hit faster Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on the switch. Blizzard is an alternative option that can serve as a decently powerful Ice-type STAB attack; in particular, it hits physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Gourgeist that would otherwise wall Abomasnow. However, this leaves it much more vulnerable to Fire- and Steel-types.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in Attack and Speed allow Abomasnow to more easily sweep and break through walls. A Jolly or Hasty nature enables Abomasnow to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Aurorus and Jolly Golurk. Whereas a Jolly nature is run when using Earthquake, a Hasty nature is used alongside Blizzard to maximize its power. An Adamant or Lonely nature can be run to further raise Abomasnow’s Attack, but this leaves it unable to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Aurorus and Jolly Golurk. Grassium Z with Wood Hammer lets Abomasnow use a 190-Base Power Bloom Doom, which lacks the recoil of Wood Hammer and can break past walls like Type: Null, Musharna, and even Weezing. If the team has another Z-Move user, Abomasnow can instead run a Life Orb to boost its overall power. It is run along with Seed Bomb, as Wood Hammer's recoil would otherwise stack with the Life Orb's.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow should take advantage of the Attack boost from Swords Dance to break through bulkier Pokemon such as Clefairy and Musharna so a teammate can come in to clean up. Through a combination of Swords Dance and Ice Shard, Abomasnow can also serve as a decent late-game cleaner, and it can also be used as a setup sweeper, ideally after threats such as Primeape and Magmortar have been KOed or at least put in range of Ice Shard. Abomasnow should set up against bulkier Pokemon that can do little to it, such as Musharna and Audino, although it should stay wary of moves such as Audino's Encore and Toxic. Abomasnow can also take advantage of its overall unpredictability to lure in certain Pokemon that can give its other sets trouble such as Clefairy and Type: Null, and it can scare away Pokemon that can deal with the Swords Dance set, such as Weezing. If running Blizzard, Abomasnow can further attempt to bluff its mixed wallbreaker set. However, even without a Swords Dance boost, Abomasnow can still put a dent it in the opponent's team due to the high Base Power of Wood Hammer and Blizzard, and it can serve as a decent revenge killer with Ice Shard. Abomasnow should be brought onto the field with the help of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn, after a teammate has been KOed, or against a predicted non-damaging move such as Clefairy's Stealth Rock or Soft-Boiled.

Team Options
========

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Pyroar appreciate Abomasnow's ability to weaken the walls that give them trouble such as Regirock and defensive Carracosta, while they can help clean up in return. Special wallbreakers such as Magmortar can aid Abomasnow against physical walls that can potentially stop it from sweeping, such as Weezing and Sableye, while Abomasnow can deal with special walls, such as Audino and Eelektross. Thunder Wave users such as Regirock and Clefairy can help cripple faster threats such as Primeape and Magmortar, allowing Abomasnow to outspeed them, but be aware that Abomasnow needs to run a positive Speed nature to outspeed paralyzed Choice Scarf Primeape. Regirock and Clefairy can also help wear the opponent's team down with Stealth Rock and can serve as checks for Fire-types. Mesprit can support Abomasnow with its slow U-turn, ability to set Stealth Rock, and access to Healing Wish. Probopass stacks a weakness to Fighting-type attacks, but it can serve as a slow pivot and can trap Steel-types that can potentially give Abomasnow trouble, such as Ferroseed. Due to Abomasnow's weakness to entry hazards, Pokemon that can provide hazard removal such as Skuntank and Silvally-Water are also appreciated.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Soundproof allows Abomasnow to switch in on Hyper Voice from Pokemon such as Drampa and Aurorus. However, without an accurate Blizzard, Abomasnow has a much more difficult time breaking through walls such as Musharna and Sableye. Choice Specs can provide more damage output as a wallbreaker, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to switch between coverage moves and does not appreciate having to be completely special. This set is also outclassed by Aurorus. Grass Whistle can put the opposing Pokemon to sleep, allowing Abomasnow to break through them while they do nothing in return, but it is rather unreliable due to its low accuracy and forces Abomasnow to lose out on coverage. A combination of Substitute and Leech Seed can allow Abomasnow to stall out opposing Pokemon with the chip damage of Leech Seed and Hail, but Abomasnow usually lacks the bulk to use it successfully. Growth boosts both Abomasnow’s Attack and Special Attack, but it is generally outclassed by Swords Dance as a setup option.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar, Pyroar, and Combusken outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with Fire Blast. All of them have to watch out for Earthquake, however.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Primeape and Life Orb Hitmonchan can outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with their STAB attacks. However, non-Choice Scarf variants of these Pokemon are outsped by Choice Scarf Abomasnow. Slower Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can take a hit before KOing in return, or they can take Abomasnow out with Mach Punch if it has taken enough damage already.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy, Type: Null, Audino, and Miltank can switch in on non-Swords Dance Abomasnow and use it to set up Stealth Rock or Swords Dance, or they can whittle it down with Toxic. Mixed wallbreaker Abomasnow can 2HKO Audino and Miltank with Focus Blast, however.

**Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Sandslash can outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with Iron Head, although Alolan Dugtrio does not want to take a +2 Ice Shard. Alolan Sandslash can also take advantage of Abomasnow's hail, even after Abomasnow is KOed. Bronzor is notable, as it resists all of Abomasnow’s attacks except Focus Blast and can take advantage of Abomasnow to set up Stealth Rock, heal off any damage with Rest, or whittle Abomasnow down with Toxic and Psywave. Some bulky Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass can deal with Abomasnow's Choice Scarf set if it is locked into a resisted move, but otherwise they have to watch out for super effective coverage moves. Finally, Metang can take a hit before OHKOing Abomasnow with Meteor Mash or possibly 2HKOing it with Bullet Punch.

**Residual Damage*: Throughout the game, Abomasnow can be worn down by various forms of chip damage such as entry hazards, Toxic poison, and recoil from Life Orb or Wood Hammer. This makes Abomasnow much easier to revenge kill, especially when combined with its mediocre Speed and defenses.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Abomasnow is an overall decent wallbreaker, with a great offensive typing, a good movepool to back it up, and decent stats in both its Physical and Special Attack. It also has a great ability in Snow Warning, which allows it to spam Blizzard without a fear of missing, as well as supply constant chip damage, and can put a stop to to weather teams. (i think it's also worth mentioning that it neuters the healing for some pokemon, like musharna for example)
  • This allows Abomasnow to have some variety in its sets (not some, a large amount of variety. this also makes it unpredictable, as it's often hard to tell what set it is at team preview), with its most notable sets being as a mixed wallbreaker, a Choice Scarf user, or a Swords Dance sweeper.
  • As a mixed wallbreaker, it can defeat bulkier opponents such as Palossand, Gastrodon, and Altaria. (it can break all of these regardless really, even with the swords dance set, so it seems quite irrelevant)
  • With a more passive set utilizing the Choice Scarf (it isn't passive at all? it's actually often used on more offensive builds), Abomasnow outspeeds all unboosted Pokemon under base 115 Speed, including Pokemon such as Archeops, Aloland :blobthinking: Raichu, and even certain boosted Pokemon, such as +2 Carracosta. This enables Abomasnow to serve as a decent revenge killer, cleaner, and a lure for those faster Pokemon as well as a better check for certain weather abusers such as Kabutops and Shiftry.
  • Swords Dance allows Abomasnow to potentially sweep through teams, as well as more easily break through certain bulkier foes that give its other sets trouble, such as Clefairy and Miltank, but can be somewhat easily stopped by faster opponents. (i wouldn't mention miltank here to be honest. you see, if it is running sap sipper then it basically walls the swords dance set for days. the mixed set also has the option of running focus blast, which does a ton to miltank)
  • However, one of Abomasnow’s major setbacks is in the rest of its stats. Not only can it be very frail at times, it lacks much Speed to make up for it, which allows many Pokemon to KO it relatively easily. Its offensive stats can also be underwhelming at times, making it walled by Pokemon such as Clefairy and Type: Null. (meh. it's not that it's frail, it's that it has an awful defensive typing, which is what hinders it the most)
  • This is furthered in how it can be easily worn down through a combination of its Life Orb, a weakness to Stealth Rock, and the potential Wood Hammer on its Swords Dance set.
  • The mediocre stats also lead Abomasnow (again, not really mediocre) to receiving a lot of competition from other wallbreakers, such as Magmortar and Passimian, who are both bulkier and faster, as well as certain slower yet more powerful options such as Drampa and Aurorus, and frailer but faster ones such as Pyroar. However, Abomasnow’s hope comes from its nice combination of STAB moves and coverage, which is resisted by very little.

Moves
========
  • Blizzard serves as Abomasnow’s main STAB, with its high base power that allows Abomasnow to hit bulky Pokemon such as Palossand, Altaria, and Alolan Exeggutor. It also does not have to worry about missing thanks to Snow Warning.
  • Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s secondary STAB, which supplies coverage against the Water-types and certain other Blizzard resistances, such as Carracosta, Gastrodon, and Aurorus, as well as giving it a form of recovery, which pairs well with the Life Orb. (not being nitpicky here, but gastrodon isn't actually a blizzard resist due to the part ground-typing)
  • wood hammer, hits things like clefairy and munchlax harder. along with things like jynx too
  • Earthquake gives Abomasnow a way to hit Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on switchin, as they resist both its STABs. It is also Abomasnow’s most reliable way to hit Pokemon with much lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Jynx.
  • Focus Blast is an alternate coverage option over Earthquake that still hits Steel-types, as well as Pyroar, while also hitting certain Pokemon such as Ferroseed (ferroseed is a steel-type though?) and Miltank (mention specifically thick fat miltank, because it can run sap sipper), but leaves Abomasnow much more vulnerable against certain Pokemon such as Magmortar. (to be honest, it's already vulnerable against it)
  • Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its low Speed, and allows it to pick up KOes on weakened opponents. (any examples here?)
Set Details
========
  • 252 EVs in Special Attack and a Life Orb gives Abomasnow offensive presence that allows it to break through foes as easily as possible.
  • A Hasty nature with 252 EVs in Speed lets Abomasnow outspeed Pokemon such as Jolly Golurk, Modest Ludicolo and Aurorus (this is nitpicking but i think it's worth mentioning. by saying modest ludicolo and aurorus, you're implying that aurorus is modest and that you need a hasty nature to outspeed, yet both natures outspeed modest aurorus), and uninvested Silvally. (i'd specify which silvally, because i'm pretty sure all run speed to some degree. maybe a different example would be better)
  • Mild is another option for Abomasnow’s nature, boosting its power even more so it can fulfill its role as a wallbreaker better, although at the cost of missing out on outspeeding the previously mentioned Pokemon.
  • In both Hasty and Mild, a Defense lowing nature is ran so that Abomasnow gains their respective stat boosts without having to weaken its physical moves, as well as the fact that Abomasnow is not taking most physical attacks very well in the first place. (this is also because it's a semi-decent grass and water resist, which are often special moves)
  • Snow Warning helps whittle down opponents, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through, while also guaranteeing Blizzard to hit. (also neuters healing for some pokemon too, like musharna)
Usage Tips
========
  • Abomasnow is best when utilizing its STAB coverage to weaken, if not KO, slower and bulkier opponents such as Drampa, Palossand, and Gourgeist-XL. (you say stab coverage but you only mention pokemon that are basically hit by blizzard (yeah i know palossand is hit by giga drain but blizzard does more), so maybe try to include these)
  • It can also be used to break down certain physically bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Sableye, due to their somewhat low Special Defense stats. (expand this point about it breaking. i think you should also talk about how it's often used to break early-game for the rest of its team)
  • Be wary that many of these Pokemon will switch out immediately when Abomasnow is brought in, so the best option is often to use its best coverage for the predicted switchin, or make a double switch. This is often Abomasnow’s only way to deal with faster Fire- and Steel-types, by using Earthquake or Focus Blast on their switchin, as they can otherwise just outspeed and pick up the KO. (would like to mention that many pokemon that switch in to abomasnow take a ton from blizzard and also don't appreciate the hail chip)
  • Abomasnow should not be brought in to take an attack, due to its low defenses. It can be brought in through a slow pivot user, such as Mesprit or Lanturn, or after a teammate has been KOed. A teammate can also be used to potentially lure in a wall, in which Abomasnow can double in. (it's less because of its low defenses and more the typing. it also doesn't want to take unneeded damage as it wants to be as healthy as possible to break)
  • Against faster foes such as Archeops and Lilligant, it can take advantage of Ice Shard to serve as a revenge killer, if they have been weakened a good amount. (this also helps mitigate its low speed stat somewhat)
  • Abomasnow can also take advantage of Giga Drain to regain health lost from its Life Orb, hazards, or any other forms of damage.
Team Options
========
  • Fast Pokemon such as Archeops, Pyroar, and Floatzel appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to break down bulkier foes such as Drampa and Defensive Carracosta, so that they can more easily clean late-game. (i'm unsure why you've mentioned drampa? archeops does absolutely loads with acrobatics and choice specs pyroar does too, and floatzel will have super effective coverage to hit it. i think a better example is needed)
  • Set up sweepers such as Alolan Raichu, Carracosta, and Lycanroc also acknowledge Abomasnow’s wallbreaking, as it allows them to set up without having to fear being stopped by the bulkier threats. (essentially it allows them to clean or sweep late-game, i think is what you're getting at)
  • Hazard setters such as Weezing and Palossand can help whittle down opponents such as Musharna and Regirock, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through. The Poison from Toxic Spikes can also be used to stack up chip damage with Hail. (abomasnow pretty much beats musharna 1v1 thanks to hail lowering the recovery on moonlight)
  • Simultaneously, Abomasnow dislikes having to take hazards, especially Stealth Rock, so Defog and Rapid Spin users such as Skuntank, Swanna, and Hitmonchan can remove those hazards.
  • Slow pivot users such as Eelektross and Silvally-Water can take a hit before bring Abomasnow onto the field, so that it does not have to take any direct damage in the process.
  • Water- and Rock-types such as Lanturn, Regirock, and Gastrodon can come in handy against the Fire-types which can give Abomasnow trouble, such as Magmortar and Pyroar (lanturn isn't a good check to fire-types). Lanturn can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot, while Regirock can supply Stealth Rock. Clefairy can also help against these special attacking Fire-types, as well as being immune to Abomasnow’s Hail.
  • Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-types such as Magmortar, Gurdurr, Gastrodon can help against Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Togedemaru. Probopass is also notable as it can trap Steel-types, as well as having access to Volt Switch and Stealth Rock.
  • Psychic-, Ghost-, Flying-, and Fairy-types such as Mesprit, Spiritomb, Oricorio-Sensu, and Silvally-Fairy can all serve as switchins for Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan. Mesprit and Silvally-Fairy can serve as slow pivots for Abomasnow as well, on top of Mesprit being able to serve as a Stealth Rock user and a late-game support with Healing Wish.
  • Finally, Abomasnow can form a decent core with Alolan Sandslash, as it can take advantage of Snow Warning thanks to Slush Rush, while breaking through certain special walls such as Clefairy, and Abomasnow can break through certain physical walls, like Weezing.
i rarely say this, but you've written way too much o.o... i literally switched off half-way through. you should be a little more concise and not mention absolutely everything that could pair with it;
  • set up sweeper and fast pokemon
  • slow pivots (this can include mes and you can explain setting)
  • hazard setters
  • checks to cover up weaknesses to fire- and fighting-types (usually your fire checks will also cover flying-types)
  • alolan sandslash

  • Blizzard is Abomasnow’s strongest STAB option, and allows it to hit as hard as possible (this sentence is fluff), while hitting Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G for super-effective damage.
  • Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s other form of STAB coverage, which on top of supplying Abomasnow with a form of recovery, hits certain Pokemon that resist Blizzard such as Lanturn, Kabutops, and Aurorus.
  • Energy Ball can be ran over Giga Drain for slightly more power, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to regain health. (if a move isn't slashed, then put it at the bottom)
  • Focus Blast gives Abomasnow coverage for Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Aggron, as well as other certain Pokemon such as Miltank and Pyroar, which do not mind either its STAB moves. (while miltank doesn't, as long as it's thick fat, pyroar still doesn't want to switch into a blizzard directly)
  • Earthquake is Abomasnow’s strongest coverage for Fire-types a such as Magmortar and Combusken, as well as being a more reliable way to hit certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru without risking a miss. It is also allows Abomasnow to 2HKO certain physically frail Pokemon such as Jynx.

  • A Choice Scarf, when combined with 252 EVs in Speed and a Hasty nature, allows Abomasnow to outspeed most of the unboosted meta, outspeeding everything under base 115 Speed. This includes Pokemon such as Archeops and Oricorio-G, as well as unboosted weather abusers such as Kabutops, Shiftry, and Stoutland. (the last bit doesn't quite make sense? aboma resets weather to hail so it's quite obvious they're going to be unboosted. do you mean lacking a choice scarf?)
  • 252 Evs in Special Attack allows Abomasnow to hit its Special Attacks as hard as possible. (doesn't quite make sense)
  • Naive is ran over an Attack negating nature so that Abomasnow can gain the Speed boost without weakening its Earthquake, on top of its already lackluster defenses (huh? again this just doesn't make sense). It is ran over a physical Defense negating nature so it can take minimal damage from priority attacks.
Usage Tips
========
  • With its decent Speed when given the Choice Scarf, Abomasnow can be used as a revenge killer or a late-game cleaner. (great against hyper offensive teams as they generally lack a good switch in to its attacks)
  • On top of being brought in after a teammate is KOed, it can also be brought in through means of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn. This is due to Abomasnow’s low defenses (not low), in which it does not appreciate taking a hit, and can even end up being KOed in the process.
  • Abomasnow can also be used as a lure for otherwise faster threats such as Passimian and Magmortar, who would stay in against it for the KO. However, be wary that without an Attack-boosting item, Abomasnow can be passive at times, so it often requires some damage to have been dealt beforehand in order to pick up the KO. (it's not really passive, it's just not as strong. passive is something like clefairy or audino)
  • Also stay aware that once Abomasnow’s Choice Scarf has been revealed, it becomes much more predictable, and therefore easier to wall, due to being locked into a single move. The best way to play around this is to make predictions on your opponent’s switches before locking Abomasnow into a move, or to make a double switch, so you can ideally take out potential threats that can stop Abomasnow from being able to spam a single attack. (i'd add to the start that your opponent will be unable to tell what set it is from team preview, which makes this set very effective if they try to revenge abomasnow with something like non scarf togedemaru)
  • Finally, when facing weather-based teams, Abomasnow can be brought in through similar means as a revenge killer, or on a predicted move like Swords Dance on Pokemon such as Kabutops and Leafeon. (this should be way higher. choice scarf abomasnow destroys weather teams almost by itself, this is one of its biggest niches)
Team Options
========
  • Setup users such as Oricorio-G and Alolan Raticate and appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to lure in and take out faster threats such as Archeops and Alolan Dugtrio. In return, these setup users can weaken the opposing team before Abomasnow comes in to clean up the match, as can wallbreakers such as Magmortar and Passimian. (alolan rat pretty much beats alolan dugtrio 1v1 anyways)
  • Hazard setters such as Mesprit, Regirock and Weezing can help whittle down the opponents, making it even easier for Abomasnow to clean. Mesprit can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot and with a late-game Healing Wish. (this looks familiar...)
  • Other slow pivot users include Eelektross and Lanturn’s Volt Switch and Silvally-Water’s Parting Shot. which can serve as a way to get Abomasnow onto the field safely. (repeated from the last bit)
  • Eelektross, as well as Alolan Raticate and Passimian, can support Abomasnow with Knock Off, as it can be used on Choice Scarf users such as Togedemaru and Pyroar, who would outspeed Abomasnow otherwise. (don't double mention teammates, it's just extra fluff that you can easily say in an earlier bullet point)
  • While Abomasnow can serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner, it is not the best source of speed control, so teams may want a second Choice Scarf user to fulfill that role. (like what?)
  • Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, and other hazards, Abomasnow appreciates having a form of hazard removal on its team, such as Skuntank, Hitmonchan, and Swanna. (repeated and lacking)

Moves
========
  • Swords Dance boosts Abomasnow’s Attack stat, allowing it to potentially pick up a late-game sweep, as well as more easily break through certain walls such as Regirock and Eelektross. (pretty sure the mixed set already breaks through regirock with ease?) (it's not really trying to sweep, it's still wallbreaking mainly)
  • Wood Hammer serves as Abomasnow’s main Grass-type STAB, hitting Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Gastrodon and Regirock (no ground-type mention? i mean yeah gastrodon is but you could give another example), although at the cost of taking a good amount of recoil. It also has a notably powerful Z move, allowing it to more easily break through bulky foes such as Gurdurr and Type: Null, as well as ignores the recoil.
  • Seed Bomb is an alternate option over Wood Hammer for Abomansow’s main STAB, as a weaker variant without the large recoil.
  • Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its lackluster Speed, hitting Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G. (it's also good and powerful when backed up by a swords dance boost)
  • Blizzard can serve as a decently powerful Ice-type STAB that allows Abomasnow to not get walled by certain physical walls such as Weezing and Gourgeist-XL, which can give it trouble otherwise.
  • Earthquake is another choice for the final slot, as it supplies Abomasnow with coverage for Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru. However, many of these will outspeed and OHKO Abomasnow, barring a few such as Aggron and Probopass, so it would mainly be used for a predicted switch.
Set Details
========
  • 252 EVs in Attack gives Abomasnow an offensive presence that allows it to more easily sweep and break through walls.
  • 252 EVs in Speed and a Hasty or Jolly nature enables Abomasnow to outspeed certain Pokemon such as Modest Aurorus (but you outspeed both modest and timid?) and Ludicolo and Jolly Golurk.
  • Hasty is run alongside Blizzard so Abomasnow can gain the Speed without weakening its Blizzard, and furthermore is already somewhat frail. Jolly can be ran with Earthquake because Abomasnow does not have to worry about its Special Attack stat.
  • A Lonely or Adamant nature can be run to further raise Abomasnow’s Attack, but leaves it unable to outspeed the previously mentioned Pokemon. (except for modest aurorus tho)
  • Grassium Z is to be run alongside Wood Hammer, allowing Abomasnow to have a one-time nuke for defensive walls such as Type: Null and Musharna, and ignores the recoil of Wood Hammer. (also nukes things like weezing at +2 too)
  • If the Z-Crystal slot is taken, Life Orb is the alternate choice as it boosts all of Abomasnow’s moves’ power. It is run along with Seed Bomb as Wood Hammer’s recoil would otherwise stack with the Life Orb’s.
Usage Tips
========
  • As a sweeper, Abomasnow should be used late-game. This is most ideally after certain threats such as Primeape and Magmortar have been KOed, or at least put in range of Ice Shard. (but it is also mainly used for breaking though? like it definitely can sweep, but often you want to be abusing the fact your opponent doesn't know what set it is and such)
  • As a wallbreaker, Abomasnow can take advantage of the Attack boost from Swords Dance to break through bulkier Pokemon such as Clefairy and Musharna, so a teammate can come in to clean up the match.
  • mention ice shard + swords dance, because that's one of the main ways it'd clean)
  • Abomasnow should set up against bulkier Pokemon, which can do little to it, such as Musharna and Audino. (has to be wary of encore from audino though)
  • something something could not reveal the set something
  • However, even without the Swords Dance Boost, Abomasnow can still be used to put a dent it in the opponent’s team, due to the high base power of Wood Hammer and Blizzard, along with its ability to serve as a decent revenge killer with Ice Shard.
  • It should be brought onto the field through a slow pivot such as Mesprit’s U-turn or Lanturn’s Volt Switch, after a teammate has been KOed, or against a predicted non-damaging move such as Clefairy’s Stealth Rock or Soft-Boiled.
Team Options
========
  • Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Pyroar appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to weaken the walls that give them trouble such as Regirock and defensive Carracosta, and can help clean up the match. (what do they do in return)
  • Certain special wallbreakers such as Magmortar and Drampa can aid Abomasnow against certain physical walls that can potentially stop it from sweeping, such as Weezing and Sableye, while Abomasnow can serve as a way to deal with special walls, such as Audino and Eelektross. (okay but. would you really, really use drampa and abomasnow on the same team? i certainly wouldn't because they overlap a lot and would require immense support between the two of them)
  • Thunder Wave users such as Regirock and Clefairy can help cripple faster threats such as Primeape and Magmortar, allowing Abomasnow to outspeed them as it sweeps, but be wary that Abomasnow needs a Speed beneficial nature in order to outspeed even a Paralyzed Choice Scarf Primeape.
  • Both Regirock and Clefairy can also support Abomasnow with Stealth Rock, which can wear the opponents team down, as well as being able to serve as checks for Fire-types. Clefairy also does not mind the Hail due to Magic Guard. Mesprit can also serve as a Stealth Rock setter, on top of its ability to support Abomasnow with its slow U-turn or a late-game Healing Wish. (you see. this is where you're fluffing. you can easily combine this point with the last and cut down on the words too)
  • Other slow pivots include Lanturn, Eelektross, and Silvally-Water, who ideally can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field. (i'm pretty sure this is repeated from a previous section)
  • Due to Abomasnow’s disliking of hazards, Pokemon with a form of hazard removal such as Skuntank, Hitmonchan, and Swanna are also appreciated. (repeated, you can mix it up a bit)
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Soundproof allows Abomasnow to switch in on Pokemon such as Drampa and Aurorus’s Hyper Voices. However, Abomasnow depends heavily on Snow Warning to be able to reliably spam Blizzard, and without Blizzard it has a much more difficult time breaking through certain walls such as Musharna and Sableye. (also hyper voice aurorus sucks so bad)
  • Choice Specs can allow for more damage output as a wallbreaker, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to switch between coverage. (also means it has to stick to being special, and it really benefits from having mixed coverage)
  • Grass Whistle can put the opponents to Sleep, allowing Abomasnow to break through them while they do nothing in return, but is rather unreliable due to its low accuracy and forces Abomasnow to lose out on coverage.
  • The chip damage of Leech Seed can stack with Hail damage to wear opponents down, but Abomasnow usually lacks the bulk to use it to succession. (i'd mention subseed in particular)
  • Focus Punch can hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass on switchin, but has little usage outside of that, and none if they manage to get onto the field. (no)
  • Growth boosts both Abomasnow’s Attack and Special Attack, but is generally outclassed by Swords Dance as a setup option.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar, Pyroar, and Combusken outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with Fire Blast. Magmortar can also switch in on most of its attacks, as can the other two bar Blizzard, but all have to watch out for Earthquake, and Focus Blast in Pyroar’s case.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive walls such as Clefairy, Type: Null, Audino, and Miltank can switch in on Abomasnow, bar the Swords Dance set, and use it to set up Stealth Rock or Swords Dance, respectively (this isn't how you'd use respectively), or begin to whittle it down with Toxic. Audino and Miltank also somewhat fear taking a Focus Blast from Abomasnow’s mixed wallbreaker set, and can even be 2HKOed.

**Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types such as Alolan Dugtrio, Togedemaru, and Alolan Sandslash under Hail (alolan sandslash will most likely run jolly, so it'll be able to outspeed regardless) can outspeed and OHKO Abomasnow with Iron Head. Bronzor is notable as it resists all of Abomasnow’s attacks, bar the neutral Focus Blast, and can take advantage of Abomasnow to set up Stealth Rock, heal off any damage with Rest, or whittle Abomasnow down with Toxic and Psywave. Some bulky Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass can deal with Abomasnow’s Choice Scarf set if it is locked into a resisted move. Finally, Metang can take a hit before OHKOing with Meteor Mash or possibly 2HKOing with Bullet Punch. (alolan dugtrio doesn't want to deal with a +2 ice shard and they all need to be very wary of coverage options)

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Primeape, Passimian, and Life Orb Hitmonchan can outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with their respective STABs. Slower Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can take a hit before KOing in return, or take Abomasnow out with Mach Punch if it has taken enough damage already. (mention how choice scarf abomasnow can outspeed them all if they're not also holding a choice scarf)

**Chip Damage*: Throughout the game, Abomasnow can be worn down through different means of chip damage. This includes hazards, most notably Stealth Rock from which it takes 25%, status conditions such as Regirock’s Toxic, and the recoil of its own Life Orb or Wood Hammer. This makes Abomasnow much easier to revenge kill, especially when combined with its mediocre Speed and defenses.
Looks aight. You kinda go overboard in some places but overall the content is solid. I feel like you slightly struggle with Team Options because I saw a lot of just straight repeated things there, so just watch out for that. The main reason this is happening is because you're including so many Pokemon in your Team Options that you're unable to try and talk about new ones for the next set. QC 1/3.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Abomasnow is an overall decent wallbreaker, with a great offensive typing, a good movepool to back it up, and decent stats in both its Physical and Special Attack. It also has a great ability in Snow Warning, which allows it to spam Blizzard without a fear of missing, supplies constant chip damage, limits certain healing moves such as Musharna's Moonlight, and can put a stop to to weather teams.
  • This allows Abomasnow to have large variety in its sets, as well as unpredictable, with its most notable sets being as a mixed wallbreaker, a Choice Scarf user, or a Swords Dance sweeper.
  • As a mixed wallbreaker, it can defeat bulkier opponents such as Weezing and Sableye. not rly sure what ur getting at here, seems like a repeat of the above kinda. after this ur writing it up anyway, I'd just look for a better way to state this
  • With a set utilizing the Choice Scarf, Abomasnow outspeeds all unboosted Pokemon under base 115 Speed, including Pokemon such as Archeops, Alolan Raichu, and even certain boosted Pokemon, such as +2 Carracosta. This enables Abomasnow to serve as a decent revenge killer, cleaner, and a lure for those faster Pokemon as well as a better check for certain weather abusers such as Kabutops and Shiftry.
  • Swords Dance allows Abomasnow to more easily break through certain bulkier foes that give its other sets trouble, such as Clefairy and Eelektross, as well as potentially pick up a late-game sweep, but can be somewhat easily stopped by faster opponents.
  • However, one of Abomasnow’s major setbacks is in its Speed. This is combined with a terrible defensive typing, which allows many Pokemon to KO it relatively easily. Its offensive stats can also be underwhelming at times, making it walled by Pokemon such as Clefairy and Type: Null.
  • This is furthered in how it can be easily worn down through a combination of its Life Orb, a weakness to Stealth Rock, and the potential Wood Hammer on its Swords Dance set. wood hammer isnt just on SD anymore
  • This also leads to Abomasnow to receiving a lot of competition from other wallbreakers, such as Magmortar and Passimian, who are both bulkier and faster, as well as certain slower yet more powerful options such as Drampa and Aurorus, and frailer but faster ones such as Pyroar. However, Abomasnow’s hope comes from its nice combination of STAB moves and coverage, which is resisted by very little.

Moves
========
  • Blizzard serves as Abomasnow’s main STAB, with its high base power that allows Abomasnow to hit bulky Pokemon such as Palossand, Altaria, and Alolan Exeggutor. It also does not have to worry about missing thanks to Snow Warning.
  • Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s secondary STAB, which supplies coverage against the Water-types and certain other Blizzard resistances, such as Carracosta, Lanturn, and Aurorus, as well as giving it a form of recovery, which pairs well with the Life Orb.
  • Wood Hammer is another Grass-type STAB that can hit certain specially defensive threats such as Clefairy and Munchlax, but at the cost of its large recoil, which stacks with Life Orb.
  • Focus Blast is an alternate coverage option over Earthquake that still hits Steel-types, as well as Pyroar, while also hitting certain Pokemon that are neutral to Earthquake such as Ferroseed and Thick Fat Miltank. However, it enables Pokemon such as Magmortar to switch in on Abomasnow much more safely. i dont rly see why pyroar is mentioned as a target, even if fb hits harder than eq pyroar still drops to eq
  • Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its low Speed, and allows it to pick up KOes on frailer or weakened opponents, such as Archeops, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant.
Set Details
========
  • 252 EVs in Special Attack and a Life Orb gives Abomasnow offensive presence that allows it to break through foes as easily as possible.
  • A Hasty nature with 252 EVs in Speed lets Abomasnow outspeed Pokemon such as Jolly Golurk, Modest Ludicolo, and Aurorus. id specify that hasty is speed boosting, and also make sure the grammar implies aurorus is modest too
  • Mild is another option for Abomasnow’s nature, boosting its power even more so it can fulfill its role as a wallbreaker better, although at the cost of missing out on outspeeding the previously mentioned Pokemon.
  • In both Hasty and Mild, a Defense lowing nature is ran so that Abomasnow gains their respective stat boosts without having to weaken its physical moves, as well as the fact that Abomasnow is not taking most physical attacks very well in the first place. It is ran over a Special Defense reducing nature so Abomasnow can serve as an all right resistance to certain special Water- and Grass-types, such as Gastrodon and Lilligant.
  • Snow Warning helps whittle down opponents and restricts certain forms of healing such as Musharna's Moonlight, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through, while also guaranteeing Blizzard to hit.
Usage Tips
========
  • Abomasnow is best when utilizing its STAB coverage to weaken, if not KO, slower and bulkier opponents such as Drampa, Palossand, and Gastrodon.
  • It can also be used to break down certain physically bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Sableye, due to their somewhat low Special Defense stats. This should be done early- to mid-game, so that late-game sweepers and cleaners can have an easier time fulfilling their roles. still dont rly get the whole weezing sableye thing, feels the same as the first point but again ur going out of bullets so as long as the writeup makes sense
  • Be wary that many of these Pokemon will switch out immediately when Abomasnow is brought in, so the best option is often to use its best coverage for the predicted switchin, or make a double switch. This is often Abomasnow’s best way to deal with faster Fire- and Steel-types, by using Earthquake or Focus Blast on their switchin, as they can otherwise just outspeed and pick up the KO, although it can also wear them down over time, as they take a decent amount from Blizzard and hail's chip damage.
  • Abomasnow should not be brought in to take an attack, as it does not appreciate having to take any unneeded damage so that it can more reliably break through things. It can be brought in through a slow pivot user, such as Mesprit or Lanturn, or after a teammate has been KOed. A teammate can also be used to potentially lure in a wall, in which Abomasnow can double in.
  • Against faster foes such as Archeops and Lilligant, it can take advantage of Ice Shard to serve as a revenge killer, if they have been weakened a good amount, as well as use it to somewhat making up for its low Speed stat.
  • Abomasnow can also take advantage of Giga Drain to regain health lost from its Life Orb, hazards, or any other forms of damage.
Team Options
========
  • Fast Pokemon such as Archeops, Pyroar, and Floatzel appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to break down bulkier foes such as Regirock and Defensive Carracosta, so that they can more easily clean late-game.
  • Set up sweepers such as Alolan Raichu, Carracosta, and Lycanroc also acknowledge Abomasnow’s wallbreaking, as it allows them to set up and sweep or clean late-game without having to fear being stopped by the bulkier threats.
  • Fire-type checks such as Regirock, Gastrodon, and Clefairy can help against Pokemon such as Magmortar and Pyroar, which can give Abomasnow trouble.
  • Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan can also give Abomasnow trouble, so Pokemon such as Spiritomb, Oricorio-G, and Silvally-Fairy can come in handy.
  • Slow Pivot pivot doesnt need capitalization for the record users such as Mesprit and Lanturn can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field, so that it does not have to take any direct damage in the process. Mesprit can also serve as Fighting-type check and late-game support with Healing Wish, as well as having access to Stealth Rock. Stealth Rock, as well as other hazards, can help whittle down opponents such as Regirock and Lanturn, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through, as well as Toxic Spikes being able to stack up with the chip damage from hail. Other hazard setters include Palossand and Weezing.
  • Simultaneously, Abomasnow dislikes having to take hazards, especially Stealth Rock, so Defog and Rapid Spin users such as Skuntank and Hitmonchan can remove those hazards.
  • Finally, Abomasnow can form a decent core with Alolan Sandslash, as it can take advantage of Snow Warning thanks to Slush Rush, while breaking through certain special walls such as Clefairy, and Abomasnow can break through certain physical walls, like Weezing.

Moves
========
  • Blizzard is Abomasnow’s strongest STAB option, while hitting Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G for super-effective damage.
  • Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s other form of STAB coverage, which on top of supplying Abomasnow with a form of recovery, hits certain Pokemon that resist Blizzard such as Lanturn, Kabutops, and Aurorus.
  • Focus Blast gives Abomasnow coverage for Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Aggron, as well as other certain Pokemon such as Miltank, which does not mind either its STAB moves.
  • Energy Ball can be run over Giga Drain for slightly more power, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to regain health.
Set Details
========
  • A Choice Scarf, when combined with 252 EVs in Speed and a Hasty nature, allows Abomasnow to outspeed most of the unboosted meta, outspeeding everything under base 115 Speed, such as Archeops and Oricorio-G.
  • Snow Warning, on top of giving Blizzard 100% accuracy, can be used to cease opposing weathers, and the Choice Scarf also allows Abomasnow to revenge kill weather abusers such as Kabutops, Shiftry, and Stoutland.
  • The 252 EVs in Special Attack simply allows Abomasnow to hit as hard as possible.
  • Naive is run over an Attack negating nature so that Abomasnow can gain the Speed boost without having to weaken its Earthquake. It is run over a physical Defense negating nature so it can take minimal damage from priority attacks.
Usage Tips
========
  • With its decent Speed when given the Choice Scarf, Abomasnow can be used as a revenge killer or a late-game cleaner. It is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switchin for Abomasnow's attacks. i dont rly agree with this. the most important thing u have to mention about scarf abomasnow is that it's not really a revenge killer that takes care of mons that have already set up, it just doesn't have the speed for that. it's more of a wallbreaker, or a general strong attacker, that functions closer to archeops than, say, scarf primeape. the choice scarf just enables it to be faster than unboosted stuff. i would not call this mon a revenge killer, and it can clean but no more than plenty of other fast things can. rest of the section is fine, but this is a really important point
  • It also does well against weather-based teams, as it can be brought in through similar means as a revenge killer, or on a predicted move like Swords Dance on Pokemon such as Kabutops and Leafeon.
  • On top of being brought in after a teammate is KOed, it can also be brought in through means of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn. This is because Abomasnow does not appreciate taking a hit, and can even end up being KOed in the process.
  • Abomasnow can also be used as a lure for otherwise faster threats such as Passimian and Magmortar, who would stay in against it for the KO. However, be wary that without an Attack-boosting item, Abomasnow can be somewhat underwhelming at times, so it often requires some damage to have been dealt beforehand in order to pick up the KO.
  • Your opponents can struggle predicting Abomasnow's item, so it can take advantage of this to lure in certain threats such as non-Choice Scarf Togedemaru, who could otherwise revenge kill it. Also stay aware that once Abomasnow’s Choice Scarf has been revealed, it becomes much more predictable, and therefore easier to wall, due to being locked into a single move. The best way to play around this is to make predictions on your opponent’s switches before locking Abomasnow into a move, or to make a double switch, so you can ideally take out potential threats that can stop Abomasnow from being able to spam a single attack.
Team Options
========
  • Setup users such as Oricorio-G and Alolan Raticate and appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to lure in and take out faster threats such as Archeops. In return, these setup users can weaken the opposing team before Abomasnow comes in to clean up the match, as can wallbreakers such as Magmortar and Passimian. Both Alolan Raticate and Passimian can also support Abomasnow through Knock Off, which can be used on Choice Scarf users such as Togedemaru and Pyroar, who would outspeed Abomasnow otherwise.
  • Hazard setters such as Mesprit and Golurk can help whittle down the opponents, making it even easier for Abomasnow to clean. Mesprit can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot and with a late-game Healing Wish.
  • Other slow pivots include Eelektross and Silvally-Water pivot yes, slow not so much, who ideally can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field.
  • While Abomasnow can serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner, it is not the best source of speed control, so teams may want a second Choice Scarf user to more reliably fulfill that role, such as Primeape and Togedemaru.
  • Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, and other hazards, Abomasnow appreciates having a form of hazard removal on its team, such as Hitmonchan and Silvally-Fairy.

  • Swords Dance boosts Abomasnow’s Attack stat, allowing it to more easily break through certain walls such as Clefairy and Eelektross.
  • Wood Hammer serves as Abomasnow’s main Grass-type STAB, hitting Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Gastrodon, Regirock, and Palossand, although at the cost of taking a good amount of recoil. It also has a notably powerful Z move, allowing it to more easily break through bulky foes such as Gurdurr and Type: Null, as well as ignores the recoil.
  • Seed Bomb is an alternate option over Wood Hammer for Abomansow’s main STAB, as a weaker variant without the large recoil. i would make it clear that seed bomb with LO, but wood hammer with Z-move. putting it once in set details is kinda weird, that info fits much better here
  • Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its lackluster Speed, hitting Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G, and can be decently powerful when combined with a Swords Dance boost.
• 252 EVs in Attack gives Abomasnow an offensive presence that allows it to more easily sweep and break through walls.
  • 252 EVs in Speed and a Hasty or Jolly nature enables Abomasnow to outspeed certain Pokemon such as Aurorus, Modest Ludicolo and Jolly Golurk. dont reiterate the exact same examples, there are several things u could do here rather than giving the exact same info
  • Hasty is run alongside Blizzard so Abomasnow can gain the Speed without weakening its Blizzard, and furthermore is already somewhat frail. Jolly can be ran with Earthquake because Abomasnow does not have to worry about its Special Attack stat.
  • A Lonely or Adamant nature can be run to further raise Abomasnow’s Attack, but leaves it unable to outspeed the previously mentioned Pokemon, bar Modest Aurorus.
  • Grassium Z is to be run alongside Wood Hammer, allowing Abomasnow to have a one-time nuke for defensive walls such as Type: Null and Musharna, and even certain Pokemon that resist it such as Weezing, and ignores the recoil of Wood Hammer.
  • If the Z-Crystal slot is taken, Life Orb is the alternate choice as it boosts all of Abomasnow’s moves’ power. It is run along with Seed Bomb as Wood Hammer’s recoil would otherwise stack with the Life Orb’s.
Usage Tips
========
  • Abomasnow can be ran as a wallbreaker and take advantage of the Attack boost from Swords Dance to break through bulkier Pokemon such as Clefairy and Musharna, so a teammate can come in to clean up the match.
  • Through a combination of Swords Dance and Ice Shard, Abomasnow can serve as a decent late-game cleaner.
  • It can also potentially be used as a setup sweeper, ideally after threats such as Preimape and Magmortar have been KOed or at least put in range of Ice Shard.
  • Abomasnow should set up against bulkier Pokemon, which can do little to it, such as Musharna and Audino, although should stay wary of certain moves such as Audino's Encore or Toxic.
  • Abomasnow can also take advantage of its overall unpredictability to lure in certain Pokemon that can give its other sets trouble such as Clefairy and Type: Null, as it can set up Swords Dance on the switch and progress to break through them.
  • However, even without the Swords Dance Boost, Abomasnow can still be used to put a dent it in the opponent’s team, due to the high base power of Wood Hammer and Blizzard, along with its ability to serve as a decent revenge killer with Ice Shard.
  • It should be brought onto the field through a slow pivot such as Mesprit’s U-turn or Lanturn’s Volt Switch, after a teammate has been KOed, or against a predicted non-damaging move such as Clefairy’s Stealth Rock or Soft-Boiled.
something about how most of the mons that beat u will be expecting special and not wanna switch in is important, u kinda say it but hte other way around with the lure thing. the fact that somth like weezing wont wanna switch into this is really critical. also, if we keep blizzard then some mention of what it does and when u use it would be good here, but that's just an if

Team Options

  • Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Pyroar appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to weaken the walls that give them trouble such as Regirock and defensive Carracosta, while they can help clean up the match in return.
  • Certain special wallbreakers such as Magmortar can aid Abomasnow against certain physical walls that can potentially stop it from sweeping, such as Weezing and Sableye, while Abomasnow can serve as a way to deal with special walls, such as Audino and Eelektross.
Both can also help wear the opponent's team down with Stealth Rock, and can serve as checks for Fire-typres.
  • Mesprit is another Stealth Rock setter, on top of its ability to support Abomasnow with its slow U-turn or a late-game Healing Wish.
  • Probopass can also serve as a slow pivot, and can trap Steel-types that can potentially give Abomasnow trouble, such as Ferroseed.
  • Due to Abomasnow’s disliking of hazards, Pokemon with a form of hazard removal such as Skuntank and Silvally-Water are also appreciated.

  • Choice Specs can allow for more damage output as a wallbreaker, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to switch between coverage and does not appreciate having to be completely special, rather than mixed.
  • Grass Whistle can put the opponents to Sleep, allowing Abomasnow to break through them while they do nothing in return, but is rather unreliable due to its low accuracy and forces Abomasnow to lose out on coverage.
  • A combination of Substitute and Leech Seed can allow Abomasnow to stall out opponents with the chip damage of Leech Seed and Hail, but Abomasnow usually lacks the bulk to use it to succession.
  • Growth boosts both Abomasnow’s Attack and Special Attack, but is generally outclassed by Swords Dance as a setup option.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar, Pyroar, and Combusken outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with Fire Blast. Magmortar can also switch in on most of its attacks, as can the other two bar Blizzard, but all have to watch out for Earthquake, and Focus Blast in Pyroar’s case. again the focus blast mention just doesnt feel necessary

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive walls such as Clefairy, Type: Null, Audino, and Miltank can switch in on Abomasnow, bar the Swords Dance set, and use it to set up Stealth Rock or Swords Dance, or begin to whittle it down with Toxic. Audino and Miltank also somewhat fear taking a Focus Blast from Abomasnow’s mixed wallbreaker set, and can even be 2HKOed.

**Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Sandslash can outspeed and OHKO Abomasnow with Iron Head, although Alolan Dugtrio does not want to take a +2 Ice Shard. Bronzor is notable as it resists all of Abomasnow’s attacks, bar the neutral Focus Blast, and can take advantage of Abomasnow to set up Stealth Rock, heal off any damage with Rest, or whittle Abomasnow down with Toxic and Psywave. Some bulky Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass can deal with Abomasnow’s Choice Scarf set if it is locked into a resisted move, but otherwise have to watch out for Focus Blast or Earthquake, in Probopass's case. Finally, Metang can take a hit before OHKOing with Meteor Mash or possibly 2HKOing with Bullet Punch. alolan sandslash is way more worthy of mention than probopass and metang, it abuses ur own hail and does the whole outspeed and KO u thing

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Primeape, Passimian, and Life Orb Hitmonchan can outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with their respective STABs. However, they must stay wary if Abomasnow is holding a Choice Scarf, if they are not holding one themselves, as it can otherwise outspeed them. Slower Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can take a hit before KOing in return, or take Abomasnow out with Mach Punch if it has taken enough damage already.

[OVERVIEW]

Abomasnow is an overall decent wallbreaker, with a great offensive typing, a good movepool to back it up, and decent stats in both its physical and Special Attack. It also has a great ability in Snow Warning, which allows it to spam Blizzard without a fear of missing, supplies constant chip damageon the opponent, limits certain healing moves such as Musharna's Moonlight, and can put a stop to to weather teams. This allows Abomasnow to have large variety in its sets, making it unpredictable, with its most notable sets being as a mixed wallbreaker, a Choice Scarf user, or a Swords Dance sweeper. As a mixed wallbreaker, it can take advantage of its STAB coverage to break through both physically and specially bulky opponents, such as Weezing and Lanturn. With a set utilizing the Choice Scarf, Abomasnow outspeeds all unboosted Pokemon under base 115 Speed, including Pokemon such as Archeops, Alolan Raichu, and even certain boosted Pokemon, such as +2 Carracosta. This enables Abomasnow to serve as a decently fast wallbreaker, a lure for certain unboosted threats such as Passimian and Togedemaru, and a better check for certain weather abusers such as Kabutops and Shiftry. Swords Dance allows Abomasnow to more easily break through certain bulkier foes that give its other sets trouble, such as Clefairy and Eelektross, as well as potentially pick up a late-game sweep, but can be somewhat easily stopped by faster opponents. However, one of Abomasnow’s major setbacks is in its Speed. This is combined with a terrible defensive typing, which allows many Pokemon to KO it relatively easily. Its offensive stats can also be underwhelming at times, making it walled by Pokemon such as Clefairy and Type: Null. This is furthered in how it can be easily worn down through a combination of a weakness to Stealth Rock and the potential Life Orb or Wood Hammer recoil. This also leads to Abomasnow to receiving a lot of competition from other wallbreakers, such as Magmortar and Passimian, who are both bulkier and faster, as well as certain slower yet more powerful options such as Drampa and Aurorus, and frailer but faster ones such as Pyroar. However, Abomasnow’s hope comes from its nice combination of STAB moves and coverage, which are resisted by very little. (sentences like these are just fluff and not really necessary.)

Moves
========

Blizzard serves as Abomasnow’s main STAB, with its high base power that allows Abomasnow to hit bulky Pokemon such as Palossand, Altaria, and Alolan Exeggutor. It also does not have to worry about missing thanks to Snow Warning. Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s secondary STAB, which supplies coverage against the Water-types and certain other Blizzard resistances, such as Carracosta, Lanturn, and Aurorus, as well as giving it a form of recovery, which pairs well with Life Orb. Wood Hammer is another Grass-type STAB that can hit certain specially defensive threats such as Clefairy and Munchlax, but at the cost of its large recoil, which stacks with the Life Orb. Earthquake gives Abomasnow a way to hit Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on switchin, as they resist both its STABs. It is also Abomasnow’s most reliable way to hit Pokemon with much lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Jynx. Focus Blast is an alternate coverage option over Earthquake that still hits Steel-types, while also hitting certain Pokemon that are neutral to Earthquake such as Ferroseed and Thick Fat Miltank. However, it enables Pokemon such as Magmortar to switch in on Abomasnow much more safely. Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its low Speed, and allows it to pick up KOes on frailer or weakened opponents, such as Archeops, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in Special Attack and a Life Orb gives Abomasnow offensive presence that allows it to break through foes as easily as possible. 252 EVs in Speed, and a Hasty nature to further boost its Speed, allows Abomasnow to outspeed Pokemon such as Aurorus and Modest Ludicolo. (merge these two points saying '252 evs in...' into one since they're both about its ev spread and then talk about the nature.) Mild is another option for Abomasnow’s nature, boosting its power even more so it can fulfill its role as a wallbreaker better, although at the cost of missing out on outspeeding the previously mentioned Pokemon, bar Modest Aurorus. In both Hasty and Mild, a Defense lowing nature is ran so that Abomasnow gains their respective stat boosts without having to weaken its physical moves, as well as the fact that Abomasnow is not taking most physical attacks very well in the first place. It is ran over a Special Defense reducing nature so Abomasnow can serve as an all right resistance to certain special Water- and Grass-types, such as Gastrodon and Lilligant. Snow Warning helps whittle down opponents and restricts certain forms of healing such as Musharna's Moonlight, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through, while also guaranteeing Blizzard to hit.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow is best when utilizing its STAB coverage to weaken, if not KO, slower and bulkier opponents such as Drampa, Palossand, and Gastrodon. It can also be used to break down certain physically bulky Pokemon that are only neutral to its moves, such as Weezing and Sableye, due to their somewhat low Special Defense stats. This should be done early- to mid-game, so that late-game sweepers and cleaners can have an easier time fulfilling their roles. Be wary that many of these bulkier Pokemon will switch out immediately when Abomasnow is brought in, so the best option is often to use its best coverage for the predicted switchin, or make a double switch. This is often Abomasnow’s best way to deal with faster Fire- and Steel-types, by using Earthquake or Focus Blast on their switchin, as they can otherwise just outspeed and pick up the KO. Abomasnow can also wear them down over time, as they take a decent amount from Blizzard and hail's chip damage. Abomasnow should not be brought in to take an attack, as it does not appreciate having to take any unneeded damage so that it can more reliably break through things. It can be brought in through a slow pivot user, such as Mesprit or Lanturn, or after a teammate has been KOed. A teammate can also be used to potentially lure in a wall, in which Abomasnow can double in. Against faster foes such as Archeops and Lilligant, Abomasnow can take advantage of Ice Shard to serve as a revenge killer, if they have been weakened a good amount, as well as use Ice Shard to somewhat making up for its low Speed stat. It can also be used against foes such as Alolan Exeggutor under Trick Room. Abomasnow can also take advantage of Giga Drain to regain health lost from its Life Orb, hazards, or any other forms of damage.

Team Options
========

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Floatzel appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to break down bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, so that they can more easily clean late-game. Set up sweepers such as Alolan Raichu, Carracosta, and Lycanroc also acknowledge Abomasnow’s wallbreaking, as it allows them to set up and sweep or clean late-game without having to fear being stopped by the bulkier threats. Fire-type checks such as Regirock, Gastrodon, and Clefairy can help against Pokemon such as Magmortar and Pyroar, which can give Abomasnow trouble. Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan can also give Abomasnow trouble, so Pokemon such as Spiritomb, Oricorio-G, and Silvally-Fairy can come in handy. Slow pivot users (slow pivots, you don't use a pivot.) such as Mesprit and Lanturn can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field, so that it does not have to take any direct damage in the process. Simultaneously, Abomasnow dislikes having to take damage from entry hazards, especially Stealth Rock, so Defog and Rapid Spin users such as Skuntank and Hitmonchan can remove those hazards. Finally, Abomasnow can form a decent core with Alolan Sandslash, as it can take advantage of Snow Warning thanks to Slush Rush, while breaking through certain special walls such as Clefairy, and Abomasnow can break through certain physical walls, like Weezing.

Moves
========

Blizzard is Abomasnow’s strongest STAB option, while (no need for 'while', nothing is being contradicted or contrasted here.) hitting Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G for super-effective damage. Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s other form of STAB coverage, which on top of supplying Abomasnow with a form of recovery, hits certain Pokemon that resist Blizzard such as Lanturn, Kabutops, and Aurorus. Focus Blast gives Abomasnow coverage for Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Aggron, as well as other certain Pokemon such as Miltank, which does not mind either its STAB moves. Earthquake is Abomasnow’s strongest coverage for Fire-types a such as Magmortar and Combusken, as well as being a more reliable way to hit certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru without risking a miss. It is also allows Abomasnow to 2HKO certain physically frail Pokemon such as Jynx. Energy Ball can be run over Giga Drain for slightly more power, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to regain health.

Set Details
========

A Choice Scarf, when combined with 252 EVs in Speed and a Hasty nature, allows Abomasnow to outspeed most of the unboosted meta, outspeeding everything under base 115 Speed, such as Archeops and Oricorio-G. Snow Warning, on top of giving Blizzard 100% accuracy, can be used to cease opposing weathers, and the Choice Scarf also allows Abomasnow to revenge kill weather abusers such as Kabutops, Shiftry, and Stoutland. The 252 EVs in Special Attack simply allows Abomasnow to hit as hard as possible. (again, the two points about its ev spread should be merged together, and then the part about the nature and item should be mentioned.) Naive is run over an Attack negating nature so that Abomasnow can gain the Speed boost without having to weaken its Earthquake. It is run over a physical Defense (since Defense is capitalized, you don't have to say 'physical'.) negating nature so it can take minimal damage from priority attacks.

Usage Tips
========

With the Choice Scarf, Abomasnow can serve as a decently fast wallbreaker, and is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switchin for Abomasnow's attacks. It does well against weather-based teams, as it can be brought in through means as a revenge killer, or on a predicted move like Swords Dance on Pokemon such as Kabutops and Leafeon. Thanks to the somewhat high Speed, Abomasnow can also serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner. On top of being brought in after a teammate is KOed, it can also be brought in through means of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn. This is because Abomasnow does not appreciate taking a hit, and can even end up being KOed in the process. Your opponent can struggle to predict Abomasnow's item from team preview, so it can take advantage of this to lure in otherwise faster threats such as Passimian and Magmortar, who would stay in against it for the KO or come in to revenge kill it. However, be wary that without an Attack-boosting item, Abomasnow's damage output can be somewhat underwhelming at times, so it often requires some damage to have been dealt beforehand in order to pick up the KO.

========

Setup users such as Oricorio-G and Alolan Raticate and appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to lure in and take out faster threats such as Archeops. Hazard setters such as Mesprit and Golurk can help whittle down the opponents, making it even easier for Abomasnow to clean. Mesprit can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot and with a late-game Healing Wish. Another slow pivots includes Eelektross, who ideally can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field, and can furthermore support Abomasnow with Knock Off. While Abomasnow can serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner, it is not the best source of speed control, so teams may want a second Choice Scarf user to more reliably fulfill that role, such as Primeape and Togedemaru. Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, and other hazards, Abomasnow appreciates having a form of hazard removal on its team, such as Hitmonchan and Silvally-Fairy.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Abomasnow’s Attack stat, allowing it to more easily break through certain walls such as Clefairy and Eelektross. Wood Hammer serves as Abomasnow’s main Grass-type STAB, hitting Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Gastrodon, Regirock, and Palossand, although at the cost of taking a good amount of recoil. It is run with the Grassium Z due to having a notably powerful Z move, allowing it to more easily break through bulky foes such as Gurdurr and Type: Null, and it also ignores the recoil of Wood Hammer. Seed Bomb is an alternate option over Wood Hammer, which would be run alongside the Life Orb, for Abomansow’s main STAB, as a weaker variant with less recoil. Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its lackluster Speed, hitting Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G, and can be decently powerful when combined with a Swords Dance boost. Earthquake supplies Abomasnow with coverage for Steel-types such as Aggron and Probopass, which can otherwise take an attack, bar +2 Bloom Doom. It can also be used to hit faster Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on switchin. Blizzard is an alternative option, as it can serve as a decently powerful Ice-type STAB that allows Abomasnow to not get walled by certain physically bulky Pokemon, such as Weezing and Gourgeist. However, this leaves it much more vulnerable to Fire- and Steel-types.

Set Details
========

252 EVs in Attack gives Abomasnow an offensive presence that allows it to more easily sweep and break through walls. 252 EVs in Speed and a Jolly or Hasty nature enables Abomasnow to outspeed certain Pokemon such as Aurorus and Jolly Golurk. (third verse, same as the first about evs.) While Jolly is ran with Earthquake, Hasty is ran alongside Blizzard so Abomasnow can receive the Speed boost without having to weaken Blizzard. An Adamant or Lonely nature can be run to further raise Abomasnow’s Attack, but leaves it unable to outspeed certain Pokemon, such as Timid Aurorus and Jolly Golurk. Grassium Z is to be run alongside Wood Hammer, allowing Abomasnow to have a one-time nuke for defensive walls such as Type: Null and Musharna, and even certain Pokemon that resist it such as Weezing, and ignores the recoil of Wood Hammer. If the Z-Crystal slot is taken, Life Orb is the alternate choice as it boosts all of Abomasnow’s moves’ power. It is run along with Seed Bomb as Wood Hammer’s recoil would otherwise stack with the Life Orb’s.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow can be ran as a wallbreaker and take advantage of the Attack boost from Swords Dance to break through bulkier Pokemon such as Clefairy and Musharna, so a teammate can come in to clean up the match. Through a combination of Swords Dance and Ice Shard, Abomasnow can serve as a decent late-game cleaner. It can also potentially be used as a setup sweeper, ideally after threats such as Preimape (Primeape) and Magmortar have been KOed or at least put in range of Ice Shard. Abomasnow should set up against bulkier Pokemon, which can do little to it, such as Musharna and Audino, although should stay wary of certain moves such as Audino's Encore or Toxic. Abomasnow can also take advantage of its overall unpredictability to lure in certain Pokemon that can give its other sets trouble such as Clefairy and Type: Null, while scaring away Pokemon that can deal with the Swords Dance set, such as Weezing. If running Blizzard, Abomasnow can further this, as Blizzard suggests that Abomasnow is running its mixed wallbreaker set. However, even without the Swords Dance Boost, Abomasnow can still be used to put a dent it in the opponent’s team, due to the high base power of Wood Hammer and Blizzard, along with its ability to serve as a decent revenge killer with Ice Shard. It should be brought onto the field through a slow pivot such as Mesprit’s U-turn or Lanturn’s Volt Switch, after a teammate has been KOed, or against a predicted non-damaging move such as Clefairy’s Stealth Rock or Soft-Boiled.

Team Options
========

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Pyroar appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to weaken the walls that give them trouble such as Regirock and defensive Carracosta, while they can help clean up the match in return. Certain special wallbreakers such as Magmortar can aid Abomasnow against certain physical walls that can potentially stop it from sweeping, such as Weezing and Sableye, while Abomasnow can serve as a way to deal with special walls, such as Audino and Eelektross. Thunder Wave users such as Regirock and Clefairy can help cripple faster threats such as Primeape and Magmortar, allowing Abomasnow to outspeed them as it sweeps, but be wary that Abomasnow needs a Speed beneficial nature in order to outspeed even a Paralyzed Choice Scarf Primeape. Both can also help wear the opponent's team down with Stealth Rock, and can serve as checks for Fire-typres. Mesprit is another Stealth Rock setter, on top of its ability to support Abomasnow with its slow U-turn or a late-game Healing Wish. Probopass can also serve as a slow pivot, and can trap Steel-types that can potentially give Abomasnow trouble, such as Ferroseed, though it does stack a Fighting weakness. Due to Abomasnow’s disliking of hazards, Pokemon with a form of hazard removal such as Skuntank and Silvally-Water are also appreciated.

Soundproof allows Abomasnow to switch in on Pokemon such as Drampa and Aurorus’s Hyper Voices. However, Abomasnow depends heavily on Snow Warning to be able to reliably spam Blizzard, and without Blizzard it has a much more difficult time breaking through certain walls such as Musharna and Sableye. Choice Specs can allow for more damage output as a wallbreaker, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to switch between coverage and does not appreciate having to be completely special, rather than mixed. (something about how aurorus does this kind of set better too.) Grass Whistle can put the opponents to Sleep, allowing Abomasnow to break through them while they do nothing in return, but is rather unreliable due to its low accuracy and forces Abomasnow to lose out on coverage. **Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Sandslash can outspeed and OHKO Abomasnow with Iron Head, although Alolan Dugtrio does not want to take a +2 Ice Shard. Alolan Sandslash can also continue to abuse Abomasnow's hail, even after Abomasnow is KOed.

(this entire segment is unnecessary and it makes the overview huge; i got permission from QC to just straight up delete it and dissolve any parts that you didn't already state later on into the various sections) However, one of Abomasnow’s major setbacks is in its Speed. This is, (AC) combined with a its terrible defensive typing, which allows many Pokemon to KO it relatively easily. Its Abomasnow's offensive stats can also be underwhelming at times, making it walled by as it can't easily break past Pokemon such as Clefairy and Type: Null. This is furthered in how it can be Abomasnow is also easily worn down through a combination of a weakness to by Stealth Rock and the potential recoil from Life Orb or and Wood Hammer recoil. This also leads to Abomasnow to receiving. (AP) Abomasnow faces a lot of competition from other wallbreakers, such as Magmortar, who are both bulkier and faster, as well as certain slower yet more powerful options such as Aurorus, and frailer but faster ones such as Pyroar such as Magmortar, Aurorus, and Pyroar due to their better bulk, power, and Speed respectively. However, Abomasnow’s hope comes from its nice combination of STAB moves and coverage, which are resisted by very little. near-unresisted combination of STAB moves and coverage.

Blizzard serves as Abomasnow’s main STAB attack, with and its high base power that allows Abomasnow to hit bulky Pokemon such as Palossand, Altaria, and Alolan Exeggutor. It also does not have to worry about missing thanks to Snow Warning. Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s secondary STAB, which is another STAB move that supplies coverage against the Water-types and certain other Blizzard resistances some other Ice-resistant Pokemon, such as Carracosta, Lanturn, and Aurorus, (RC) as well as giving it a form of recovery, which pairs well with Life Orb. Giga Drain also gives Abomasnow a form of recovery that pairs well with Life Orb. Wood Hammer is another Grass-type STAB move that can hit certain specially defensive threats such as Clefairy and Munchlax, but at the cost of its large recoil, which stacks with the Life Orb it causes Abomasnow to take significant recoil damage. Earthquake gives Abomasnow a way to hit Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on switchin, as they resist both its STABs the switch in. It is also Abomasnow’s most reliable way to hit Pokemon with much lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Jynx. Focus Blast is an alternate coverage option over Earthquake that still hits Steel-types, (RC) while also hitting and also hits certain Pokemon that are neutral to Earthquake such as Ferroseed and Thick Fat Miltank. However, it enables Pokemon such as Magmortar to switch in on Abomasnow much more safely. Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its low Speed, and allows it Abomasnow to pick up KOes on threaten faster foes and KO frailer or weakened opponents Pokemon, such as Archeops, Oricorio-G, and Lilligant.

252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed lets and a Life Orb let Abomasnow hit as strong and fast as possible, and with a Life Orb it can break through foes more easily, although while taking some recoil in the process. A Hasty nature allows it to outspeed Pokemon such as Timid Aurorus and Modest Ludicolo. Mild is another option for Abomasnow’s nature, boosting its power even more so it can fulfill its role as a wallbreaker better, although at the cost of missing out on outspeeding the previously mentioned Pokemon, bar Modest Aurorus. Abomasnow can also run a Mild nature in order to hit harder at the cost of being outsped by the aforementioned threats. In both Hasty and Mild cases, a Defense lowing Defense-lowering nature is ran so that Abomasnow gains their respective stat boosts without having to weaken its physical moves, as well as the fact that Abomasnow is not taking most physical attacks very well in the first place. It is ran over a Special Defense reducing nature is used over a Special Defense-lowering one so Abomasnow can serve as an all right resistance to more easily check certain special Water- and Grass-types, such as Gastrodon and Lilligant, (AC) without weakening its physical attacks. Snow Warning helps whittle increases the accuracy of Blizzard, whittles down opponents and restricts certain forms of healing such as Musharna's Moonlight, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through, while also guaranteeing Blizzard to hit foes, and restricts the recovery of Pokemon like Musharna to ease Abomasnow's attempts to break through them.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow is best when utilizing its STAB coverage to weaken, if not KO, should be used to break slower and bulkier opponents such as Drampa, Palossand, and Gastrodon. It can also be used to break down certain physically bulky Pokemon that are only neutral to its moves, such as Weezing and Sableye, due to their somewhat low Special Defense stats. Gastrodon, Weezing, and Sableye. (QC permission to combine these; they're all just walls that Abomasnow breaks) This should be done early- to mid-game, (RC) so that late-game sweepers and cleaners can have an easier time fulfilling their roles. Be wary that many of these bulkier Pokemon will switch out immediately when Abomasnow is brought in, so the best option is often to use its best coverage for the predicted switchin, or make a double switch. This is often Abomasnow’s best way to deal with faster Fire- and Steel-types, by using Earthquake or Focus Blast on their switchin, as they can otherwise just outspeed and pick up the KO. so be prepared to double switch or use Earthquake or Focus Blast in order to KO a predicted Fire- or Steel-type switch-in. Abomasnow can also wear them down over time, as they take a decent amount from Blizzard and hail's chip damage. Abomasnow should not be brought in to take an attack, as it does not appreciate having to take any unneeded damage so that it can more reliably break through things switch directly into attacks, as it needs to stay as healthy as possible in order to effectively wallbreak. It can be brought in through a slow pivot with a slow U-turn or Volt Switch user, such as Mesprit or Lanturn, or after a teammate has been KOed. Abomasnow can also make use of aggressive double switches to come in safely. Ice Shard should be used to revenge kill weakened faster foes such as Archeops and Lilligant. It can also be used against foes such as Alolan Exeggutor under Trick Room. Abomasnow can also take advantage of Giga Drain to regain health lost from its Life Orb recoil, entry hazards, or any other forms of damage.

Team Options

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Floatzel and setup sweepers such as Alolan Raichu, Carracosta, and Lycanroc appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to break down bulkier foes such as Regirock and Gastrodon, (RC) so that they can more easily clean late-game. Set up sweepers such as Alolan Raichu, Carracosta, and Lycanroc also acknowledge Abomasnow’s wallbreaking, as it allows them to set up and sweep or clean late-game without having to fear being stopped by the bulkier threats. (Redundant; combined with last sentence. Adjust examples of bulky Pokemon if necessary.) Fire-type checks such as Regirock, Gastrodon, and Clefairy can help against Pokemon such as Magmortar and Pyroar, (RC) which that can give Abomasnow trouble. Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan can also give Abomasnow trouble issues (prevents repetitiveness), so Pokemon such as Spiritomb, Oricorio-G, and Silvally-Fairy can come in handy. Slow pivots such as Mesprit and Lanturn can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field, so that it does not have to take any direct damage in the process take hits in order to bring Abomasnow in safely. Mesprit can also serve as Fighting-type check a check to Fighting-types, a Stealth Rock setter, and a form of late-game support with Healing Wish, as well as having access to Stealth Rock. Stealth Rock, (RC) as well as and other entry hazards, (RC) can help work well with hail to whittle down opponents foes such as Regirock and Lanturn, making them easier for Abomasnow to break through, as well as Toxic Spikes being able to stack up with the chip damage from hail. (Technically, all entry hazards qualify as chip damage that "stacks up" with hail. You can add a separate "Toxic Spikes is especially potent at wearing down bulkier foes." or something if you feel it is necessary.) Other Good examples of hazard setters include Palossand and Weezing. Simultaneously, Abomasnow dislikes having to take damage from entry hazards, especially Stealth Rock, so Defog and Rapid Spin users hazard removers such as Skuntank and Hitmonchan can remove those hazards keep Abomasnow healthy. Finally, Abomasnow can form a decent core with Alolan Sandslash, as it can take which takes advantage of Snow Warning thanks to Slush Rush, while breaking and breaks through certain special walls such as Clefairy, (RC) and. (AP) In return, (AC) Abomasnow can break through certain physical walls, (RC) like Weezing.

Blizzard is Abomasnow’s strongest STAB option, and it hits Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G for super-effective damage super effectively. Focus Blast gives Abomasnow coverage for Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Aggron, as well as other certain Pokemon such as Miltank, (RC) which does not mind either its STAB moves that would otherwise wall Abomasnow. Earthquake is Abomasnow’s strongest coverage for hits Fire-types a such as Magmortar and Combusken, (RC) as well as being a more reliable way to hit certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru without risking a miss and can hit Steel-types like Togedemaru more reliably than Focus Blast. It is also allows Abomasnow to 2HKO certain physically frail Pokemon such as Jynx. Energy Ball can be run over Giga Drain for slightly more power, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to regain health.

252 EVs in Special Attack and Speed gives Abomasnow its maximize Abomasnow's offensive presence. A Choice Scarf, when combined with Hasty a Naive nature, allows Abomasnow to outspeed most of the unboosted meta, outspeeding everything under base 115 Speed, such as Archeops and Oricorio-G, (AC) and it also lets Abomasnow outspeed some boosted Pokemon such as +2 Carracosta. (info dissolved from overview) Snow Warning, on top of giving Blizzard 100% perfect accuracy, can be used to cease opposing weathers, and the Choice Scarf also allows Abomasnow to which lets Abomasnow revenge kill weather abusers sweepers such as Kabutops, Shiftry, and Stoutland. Naive is run over an Attack negating nature so that Abomasnow can gain the Speed boost without having to weaken its Earthquake. It is run over a Defense negating nature so it can take minimal damage from priority attacks. A Naive nature is used so that Abomasnow does not weaken Earthquake and takes minimal damage from priority attacks.

Usage Tips
========

With the a Choice Scarf, Abomasnow can serve as a decently fast wallbreaker, (RC) and; (ASC) it is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switchin switch-in for Abomasnow's attacks. It does well against weather-based teams, as it can be brought in through means as a revenge killer, (RC) on a free switch or on a predicted move like Swords Dance on Pokemon such as Kabutops and Leafeon. (and then what does it do? How does its ability to come in on a free switch or on setup moves show that it has an above-average matchup against weather-based teams? The connection is not obvious to new readers.) Thanks to the its somewhat high Speed, Abomasnow can also serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner. On top of being brought in after a teammate is KOed, it can also be brought in through means with the help of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn. This is because Abomasnow does not appreciate taking a hit, and can even end up being KOed in the process. These methods are used to bring Abomasnow in because it is rather frail and needs to stay healthy to perform its role optimally. Your opponent can struggle to predict Abomasnow's item from team preview Team Preview, so it can take advantage of this to lure in otherwise faster threats such as Magmortar and Togedemaru, (RC) who that would generally stay in against it for the KO or come in to revenge kill it. However, be wary that without an Attack-boosting item that boosts its power, Abomasnow's damage output can be somewhat underwhelming at times, so it often requires some damage to have been dealt beforehand in order to pick up the KO foes to be weakened before it can KO them. Also stay aware that once Abomasnow’s Choice Scarf has been revealed, it becomes much more predictable, and therefore easier to wall, due to being locked into a single move easier for the opponent to play around. The best way to play around this is to make predictions on your opponent’s switches before locking Abomasnow into a move, or to make a double switch, so you can ideally take out potential threats that can stop Abomasnow from being able to spam a single attack. (reword this so it isn't a run on and also reword it such that it actually makes sense because i have no idea what you're trying to say.)

Team Options
========

Setup users sweepers such as Oricorio-G and Alolan Raticate and appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to lure in and take out faster threats such as Archeops. In return, these setup users sweepers can weaken the opposing team before Abomasnow comes in to clean up the match, as can wallbreakers such as Magmortar. Wallbreakers like Magmortar are also good partners for this reason. Alolan Raticate can also support Abomasnow through Knock Off, which can be used on Choice Scarf users such as Togedemaru and Pyroar, who would outspeed Abomasnow otherwise by using Knock Off on faster Choice Scarf users like Togedemaru and Pyroar. Hazard Entry hazard setters such as Mesprit and Golurk can help whittle down the opponents, making it even easier for Abomasnow to clean. Mesprit can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot and with a late-game Healing Wish. Another slow pivots includes Eelektross, who ideally can take a hit before bringing Abomasnow onto the field, and can furthermore support Abomasnow with Knock Off. Eelektross is another good partner that can support Abomasnow with Knock Off and bring it in safely with a slow Volt Switch. While Abomasnow can serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner, it is not the best source of speed control, so teams may want a second Choice Scarf user to more reliably fulfill that role, such as Primeape and or Togedemaru. Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, (RC) and other hazards, Abomasnow appreciates having a form of hazard removal on its team, such as Hitmonchan and Silvally-Fairy.

Swords Dance boosts Abomasnow’s Attack stat, allowing it to more easily break through certain walls such as Clefairy and Eelektross. Wood Hammer serves as Abomasnow’s main Grass-type STAB attack, hitting Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Gastrodon, Regirock, and Palossand, although using it comes at the cost of taking a good amount of recoil. It is run with the Grassium Z due to having a notably powerful Z move, allowing it to more easily break Bloom Doom coming from Wood Hammer more easily breaks through bulky foes such as Gurdurr and Type: Null, and it also ignores the recoil of Wood Hammer. Seed Bomb is an alternate option over Wood Hammer, (RC) which would be run alongside the Life Orb, for Abomansow’s main STAB, as a weaker variant with less recoil when running a Life Orb because it does not deal additional recoil damage. Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s best way to make up for its lackluster Speed, (RC) hitting; (ASC) it hits Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G, (RC) and can be decently powerful when combined with a Swords Dance boost. Earthquake supplies Abomasnow with coverage for hits Steel-types such as Aggron and Probopass, which can otherwise take an attack, bar any attack except +2 Bloom Doom. It can also be used to hit faster Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on switchin the switch in. Blizzard is an alternative option, (RC) as it that can serve as a decently powerful Ice-type STAB attack that allows Abomasnow to not get walled by certain; (ASC) in particular, ithits physically bulky Pokemon, (RC) such as like Weezing and Gourgeist that would otherwise wall it. However, this leaves it much more vulnerable to Fire- and Steel-types.

252 EVs in Attack and Speed allows allow (EVs is a plural term) Abomasnow to more easily sweep and break through walls. A Jolly or Hasty nature enables Abomasnow to outspeed certain Pokemon such as Timid Aurorus and Jolly Golurk. While Jolly is ran with Earthquake, Hasty is ran Whereas a Jolly nature is run when using Earthquake, a Hasty nature is used alongside Blizzard so Abomasnow can receive the Speed boost without having to weaken Blizzard to maximize its power. An Adamant or Lonely nature can be run to further raise Abomasnow’s Attack, but this leaves it unable to outspeed certain Pokemon, (RC) such as Timid Aurorus and Jolly Golurk. It is run along with Seed Bomb, (AC) as Wood Hammer’s recoil would otherwise stack with the Life Orb’s.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow can be ran as a wallbreaker and should take advantage of the Attack boost from Swords Dance to break through bulkier Pokemon such as Clefairy and Musharna, (RC) so a teammate can come in to clean up the match. Through a combination of Swords Dance and Ice Shard, Abomasnow can serve as a decent late-game cleaner. It can also potentially be used as a setup sweeper, ideally after threats such as Primeape and Magmortar have been KOed or at least put in range of Ice Shard. Abomasnow should set up against bulkier Pokemon, (RC) which that can do little to it, such as Musharna and Audino, although it should stay wary of certain moves such as Audino's Encore or and Toxic. Abomasnow can also take advantage of its overall unpredictability to lure in certain Pokemon that can give its other sets trouble such as Clefairy and Type: Null, while scaring and it can scare away Pokemon that can deal with the Swords Dance set, such as Weezing. If running Blizzard, Abomasnow can further this, as Blizzard suggests that Abomasnow is running its mixed wallbreaker set. attempt to bluff its mixed wallbreaker set. However, even without the a Swords Dance Boost boost, Abomasnow can still be used to put a dent it in the opponent’s team, (RC) due to the high base power of Wood Hammer and Blizzard, along with its ability to and it can serve as a decent revenge killer with Ice Shard. It Abomasnow should be brought onto the field through with the help of a slow pivot such as Mesprit’s U-turn or Lanturn’s Volt Switch Mesprit or Lanturn, after a teammate has been KOed, or against a predicted non-damaging move such as Clefairy’s Stealth Rock or Soft-Boiled.

Team Options
========

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Pyroar appreciate Abomasnow’s ability to weaken the walls that give them trouble such as Regirock and defensive Carracosta, while they can help clean up the match in return. Certain special Special wallbreakers such as Magmortar can aid Abomasnow against certain physical walls that can potentially stop it from sweeping, such as Weezing and Sableye, while Abomasnow can serve as a way to deal with special walls, such as Audino and Eelektross. Thunder Wave users such as Regirock and Clefairy can help cripple faster threats such as Primeape and Magmortar, allowing Abomasnow to outspeed them as it sweeps, but be wary that Abomasnow needs a Speed beneficial nature in order to outspeed even a Paralyzed Choice Scarf Primeape, (AC) but be aware that Abomasnow needs to run a Jolly or Hasty nature to outspeed paralyzed Choice Scarf Primeape. Both Regirock and Clefairy can also help wear the opponent's team down with Stealth Rock, (RC) and can serve as checks for Fire-typres Fire-types. Mesprit is another Stealth Rock setter, on top of its ability to can support Abomasnow with its slow U-turn or a late-game, (AC) ability to set Stealth Rock, and access to Healing Wish. Probopass stacks a weakness to Fighting-type attacks, but it can also serve as a slow pivot, (RC) and can trap Steel-types that can potentially give Abomasnow trouble, such as Ferroseed, (RC) although it does stack a Fighting weakness. Due to Abomasnow’s disliking of weakness to entry hazards, Pokemon with a form of hazard removal such as Skuntank and Silvally-Water are also appreciated.

Other Options
=============

Soundproof allows Abomasnow to switch in on Hyper Voice from Pokemon such as Drampa and Aurorus’s Hyper Voices Aurorus. However, Abomasnow depends heavily on Snow Warning to be able to reliably spam Blizzard, and without Blizzard it without an accurate Blizzard, Abomasnow has a much more difficult time breaking through certain walls such as Musharna and Sableye. Choice Specs can allow for more damage output as a wallbreaker, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to switch between coverage moves and does not appreciate having to be completely special, (RC) rather than mixed. This set is also accomplished better outclassed by Aurorus. Grass Whistle can put the opponents to Sleep sleep, allowing Abomasnow to break through them while they do nothing in return, but it is rather unreliable due to its low accuracy and forces Abomasnow to lose out on coverage. A combination of Substitute and Leech Seed can allow Abomasnow to stall out opponents with the chip damage of Leech Seed and Hail, but Abomasnow usually lacks the bulk to use it to succession successfully. Growth boosts both Abomasnow’s Attack and Special Attack, but it is generally outclassed by Swords Dance as a setup option.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar, Pyroar, and Combusken outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with Fire Blast. Magmortar can also switch in on most of its attacks, as can the other two bar Blizzard, but all have to watch out for Earthquake. All of them have to watch out for Earthquake, however.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Primeape and Life Orb Hitmonchan can outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO it with their respective STABs STAB attacks. However, they must stay wary if Abomasnow is holding a Choice Scarf, if they are not holding one themselves, as it can otherwise outspeed them non-Choice Scarf variants of these Pokemon are outsped by Choice Scarf Abomasnow. Slower Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Assault Vest Hitmonchan can take a hit before KOing in return, or they can take Abomasnow out with Mach Punch if it has taken enough damage already.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive walls Pokemon such as Clefairy, Type: Null, Audino, and Miltank can switch in on non-Swords Dance Abomasnow, (RC) bar the Swords Dance set, (RC) and use it to set up Stealth Rock or Swords Dance, or begin to they can whittle it down with Toxic. Audino and Miltank also somewhat fear taking a Focus Blast from Abomasnow’s mixed wallbreaker set, and can even be 2HKOed. Mixed wallbreaker Abomasnow can 2HKO Audino and Miltank with Focus Blast, however.

**Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Sandslash can outspeed and OHKO Abomasnow with Iron Head, although Alolan Dugtrio does not want to take a +2 Ice Shard. Alolan Sandslash can also continue to abuse take advantage of Abomasnow's hail, even after Abomasnow is KOed. Bronzor is notable, (AC) as it resists all of Abomasnow’s attacks, (RC) bar the neutral Focus Blast, (RC) except Focus Blast and can take advantage of Abomasnow to set up Stealth Rock, heal off any damage with Rest, or whittle Abomasnow down with Toxic and Psywave. Some bulky Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass can deal with Abomasnow’s Choice Scarf set if it is locked into a resisted move, but otherwise they have to watch out for Focus Blast or Earthquake, in Probopass's case super effective coverage moves. Finally, Metang can take a hit before OHKOing with Meteor Mash or possibly 2HKOing with Bullet Punch.

**Chip Residual Damage*: Throughout the game, Abomasnow can be worn down through different means of chip damage. This includes hazards, most notably Stealth Rock from which it takes 25%, status conditions such as Regirock’s Toxic, and the recoil of its own Life Orb or Wood Hammer. by various forms of chip damage such as entry hazards, Toxic poison, and recoil from Life Orb or Wood Hammer. This makes Abomasnow much easier to revenge kill, especially when combined with its mediocre Speed and defenses.

[OVERVIEW]

Abomasnow is a decent wallbreaker with a great offensive typing, a good movepool, and decent offensive stats. It also has a great ability in Snow Warning, which allows it to spam Blizzard without a fear of missing, constantly wears down foes, limits certain healing moves such as Musharna's Moonlight, and puts a stop to to weather teams. These attributes let Abomasnow perform a wide variety of roles, most notably as a mixed wallbreaker, a Choice Scarf user, and a Swords Dance sweeper. However, one of Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's major setbacks is in its Speed. This, combined with its terrible defensive typing, allows many Pokemon to KO it relatively easily. Abomasnow's offensive stats can also be underwhelming at times, as it can not cannot easily break past Pokemon such as Clefairy and Type: Null. Abomasnow is also easily worn down by Stealth Rock and potential recoil from Life Orb and Wood Hammer. Furthermore, Abomasnow it faces a lot of competition from other wallbreakers such as Magmortar, Aurorus, and Pyroar due to their better bulk, power, and Speed respectively. However, Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's hope comes from its near-unresisted combination of STAB moves and coverage.

(AP) Good examples of hazard setters include Palossand and Weezing.

Blizzard is Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's strongest STAB option, and it hits Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G super effectively. Giga Drain is Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's Grass-type STAB attack that gives Abomasnow it a form of recovery and hits some Pokemon that resist Blizzard such as Lanturn, Kabutops, and Aurorus. Focus Blast gives Abomasnow coverage for Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Aggron, as well as other Pokemon such as Miltank, that would otherwise wall Abomasnow. Earthquake hits Fire-types a such as Magmortar and Combusken and can hit Steel-types like Togedemaru more reliably than Focus Blast. It also allows Abomasnow to 2HKO physically frail Pokemon such as Jynx. Energy Ball can be run over Giga Drain for slightly more power, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to regain health.

Snow Warning, on top of giving Blizzard perfect accuracy, can be used to cease stop opposing weathers, which lets Abomasnow revenge kill weather sweepers such as Kabutops, Shiftry, and Stoutland. A Naive nature is used so that Abomasnow does not weaken Earthquake and takes minimal damage from priority attacks.

Usage Tips
========

Also stay aware that once Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's Choice Scarf has been revealed, it becomes much easier for the opponent to play around.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers such as Oricorio-G and Alolan Raticate appreciate Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's ability to lure in and take out faster threats such as Archeops. Entry hazard setters such as Mesprit and Golurk can help whittle down the opponents opposing team, making it even easier for Abomasnow to clean. Mesprit can also support Abomasnow as a slow pivot and with a late-game Healing Wish. Eelektross is another good partner that can support Abomasnow with Knock Off and bring it in safely with a slow Volt Switch. While Abomasnow can serve as a decent revenge killer and cleaner, it is not the best source of speed control way to keep faster foes in check, so teams may want a second Choice Scarf user to more reliably fulfill that role, such as Primeape or Togedemaru. Due to its weakness to Stealth Rock and other hazards, Abomasnow appreciates having a form of hazard removal on its team, such as Hitmonchan and or Silvally-Fairy.

Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's Attack stat, allowing it to more easily break through certain walls such as Clefairy and Eelektross. Wood Hammer serves as Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's main Grass-type STAB attack, hitting Water-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Gastrodon, Regirock, and Palossand, although(space)using it comes at the cost of taking a good amount of recoil. Ice Shard is Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's best way to make up for its lackluster Speed; it hits Pokemon such as Archeops, Lilligant, and Oricorio-G and can be decently powerful when combined with a Swords Dance boost. Earthquake hits Steel-types such as Aggron and Probopass, which can otherwise take any attack except +2 Bloom Doom. It can also be used to hit faster Fire- and Steel-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Togedemaru on the switch in. Blizzard is an alternative option that can serve as a decently powerful Ice-type STAB attack; in particular, it hits physically bulky Pokemon like Weezing and Gourgeist that would otherwise wall it Abomasnow. However, this leaves it much more vulnerable to Fire- and Steel-types.

It is run along with Seed Bomb, as Wood Hammer’s Hammer's recoil would otherwise stack with the Life Orb’s Orb's.

Usage Tips
========

Abomasnow should take advantage of the Attack boost from Swords Dance to break through bulkier Pokemon such as Clefairy and Musharna so a teammate can come in to clean up. Through a combination of Swords Dance and Ice Shard, Abomasnow can also serve as a decent late-game cleaner, (comma) and it can also potentially be used as a setup sweeper, ideally after threats such as Primeape and Magmortar have been KOed or at least put in range of Ice Shard. However, even without a Swords Dance boost, Abomasnow can still put a dent it in the opponent’s opponent's team due to the high Base Power of Wood Hammer and Blizzard, and it can serve as a decent revenge killer with Ice Shard. Abomasnow should be brought onto the field with the help of a slow pivot such as Mesprit or Lanturn, after a teammate has been KOed, or against a predicted non-damaging move such as Clefairy’s Clefairy's Stealth Rock or Soft-Boiled.

Team Options
========

Fast Pokemon such as Archeops and Pyroar appreciate Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's ability to weaken the walls that give them trouble such as Regirock and defensive Carracosta, while they can help clean up in return. Special wallbreakers such as Magmortar can aid Abomasnow against physical walls that can potentially stop it from sweeping, such as Weezing and Sableye, while Abomasnow can deal with special walls, such as Audino and Eelektross. Thunder Wave users such as Regirock and Clefairy can help cripple faster threats such as Primeape and Magmortar, allowing Abomasnow to outspeed them, but be aware that Abomasnow needs to run a Jolly or Hasty positive Speed nature to outspeed paralyzed Choice Scarf Primeape. Due to Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's weakness to entry hazards, Pokemon with a form of that can provide hazard removal such as Skuntank and Silvally-Water are also appreciated.

Other Options
=============

Soundproof allows Abomasnow to switch in on Hyper Voice from Pokemon such as Drampa and Aurorus. However, without an accurate Blizzard, Abomasnow has a much more difficult time breaking through walls such as Musharna and Sableye. Choice Specs can allow for provide more damage output as a wallbreaker, but Abomasnow prefers the ability to switch between coverage moves and does not appreciate having to be completely special. This set is also outclassed by Aurorus. Grass Whistle can put the opponents opposing Pokemon to sleep, allowing Abomasnow to break through them while they do nothing in return, but it is rather unreliable due to its low accuracy and forces Abomasnow to lose out on coverage. A combination of Substitute and Leech Seed can allow Abomasnow to stall out opponents opposing Pokemon with the chip damage of Leech Seed and Hail, but Abomasnow usually lacks the bulk to use it successfully. Growth boosts both Abomasnow’s Attack and Special Attack, but it is generally outclassed by Swords Dance as a setup option.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types such as Togedemaru, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Sandslash can outspeed Abomasnow and OHKO Abomasnow it with Iron Head, although Alolan Dugtrio does not want to take a +2 Ice Shard. Some bulky Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Probopass can deal with Abomasnow’s Abomasnow's Choice Scarf set if it is locked into a resisted move, but otherwise they have to watch out for super effective coverage moves.
