Ubers Arceus-Water

[OVERVIEW]

* Thanks to Arceus-Water's good defensive stats and excellent defensive typing in Water, it's capable of checking some of the top-tier threats like Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence, Ho-Oh, and Necrozma-DM. Its good matchup against Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM is especially notable, as they are the best Pokemon in the tier, and it can take most of their attacks with relative ease.
* Arceus-Water's good Speed tier lets it outspeed a wide variety of Pokemon like Mega Lucario and Rayquaza, allowing it to soft check them.
* Arceus-Water is an effective Defogger thanks to its ability to threaten most Stealth Rock setters like Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM, offering a lot of utility for teams.
* Unfortunately, Arceus-Water is relatively passive, making it vulnerable to Gothitelle, Mega Gengar, setup sweepers, and status ailments.
* Arceus-Water can get overwhelmed by Pokemon like Curse and Choice Band Ho-Oh, Swords Dance Arceus-Ground, and Swords Dance Primal Groudon, which it's supposed to check.

Moves
========

* Recover enables Arceus-Water to regain health and prevent it from getting worn down too much.
* Toxic allows Arceus-Water to cripple common bulky Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, Arceus-Fairy, and Ho-Oh.
* Arceus-Water is an effective user of Defog thanks to its ability to threaten or wall a lot of common entry hazard setters like Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, Necrozma-DM, and Tyranitar.
* Ice Beam can be used instead of Defog or Judgment, since it allows Arceus-Water to handle Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and Zygarde-C better. It is also Arceus-Water's method of actually damaging Primal Groudon.
* Judgment provides Arceus-Water with a strong STAB move that allows it to hit Fire- and Ground-types very hard. It also hits most Steel-types for a good amount of damage, which Ice Beam fails to do. This gives the advantage of being able to better check Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM.
* Judgment and Ice Beam can be run together, offering a wide range of targets when combined at the cost of Defog utility. This is ideally run with another Defog user to make up for this.
* Fire Blast may also be used, since it allows Arceus-Water to prevent Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn from switching in; Fire Blast also allows Arceus-Water to use Defog on Ferrothorn, as it can successfully threaten it.
* Will-O-Wisp can be run to cripple Necrozma-DM and other physical attackers like Marshadow, Arceus, and Mega Salamence.
* Thunder Wave lets Arceus-Water slow down Pokemon such as Xerneas and Necrozma-DM.

Set Details
========

* 252 HP EVs in conjunction with 64 Defense EVs make Arceus-Water as bulky as possible, which lets it take +1 Double-Edge from Mega Salamence.
* 192 Speed EVs in tandem with a Timid nature allow Arceus-Water to outspeed Mega Lucario and anything slower.
* An alternative EV spread of 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 Spe with a Bold nature allows Arceus-Water to check physical attackers better while still outspeeding base 90 Speed Pokemon. This EV spread is especially useful for taking on Facade Mega Salamence that is badly poisoned, as it is incapable of OHKOing Arceus-Water at +1 with this specific EV spread. Unfortunately, it does mean that Arceus-Water will get outsped by Mega Lucario.
* Splash Plate is required to turn Arceus into Arceus-Water and Judgment into a Water-type STAB move.

Usage Tips
========

* Try to bring Arceus-Water in on Pokemon that it can check like Mega Salamence, Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, and Arceus-Ground.
* Use Recover to keep Arceus-Water as healthy as possible, since if it gets too low, it will have a hard time checking Pokemon that it's supposed to check.
* Be wary of staying in with Arceus-Water if the opponent has a Shadow Tag user like Gothitelle or Mega Gengar because if Arceus-Water does stay in, the foe can switch them in and trap it. Double switching can be useful to avoid this scenario.
* Try to avoid Arceus-Water from getting afflicted by Toxic, as this will greatly reduce its longevity, but sometimes it's favorable to take a Toxic if this means Arceus-Water itself can get a Toxic off on a Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, or Arceus-Fairy. This is especially useful if Arceus-Water's team needs any of these Pokemon weakened. Also, Arceus-Water getting hit by Toxic may be safe if its team has a cleric.
* Use Defog on Pokemon that Arceus-Water can force out like Arceus-Ground and Mega Salamence to avoid taking damage while removing entry hazards, since it's susceptible to chip damage.
* Arceus-Water can be used to pivot into Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre to take their respective STAB moves. After that, it can pivot into a Pokemon that can beat both of these Pokemon.

Team Options
========

* Arceus-Water fits best on defensively oriented teams that need its ability to check Primal Groudon and potentially Necrozma-DM depending on Arceus-Water's moveset; it also provides a Defogger for its team, which makes it a great fit on these type of teams.
* Steel-types like Celesteela, Magearna, and Necrozma-DM are good teammates, especially Celesteela, as it provides a secondary check to Mega Salamence; in return, Celesteela appreciates Arceus-Water's ability to check Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh. Magearna is capable of checking both Fairy- and Dark-types. Necrozma-DM can provide a check to Fairy-types, provide Stealth Rock support, or act as a powerful wallbreaker. They all appreciate Arceus-Water's ability to take on Fire- and Ground-type Pokemon.
* Arceus-Water appreciates a secondary Primal Groudon check because this takes pressure off of Arceus-Water. Pokemon like Zygarde-C, Giratina-O, and Mega Salamence can do this.
* Clerical support from Pokemon like Magearna and Xerneas is pretty handy because Arceus-Water is heavily annoyed by status ailments. In return, Arceus-Water can check Primal Groudon, which both struggle against.
* Setup sweepers like Xerneas, Rayquaza, and Mega Salamence appreciate the entry hazard removal that Arceus-Water provides.
* Pursuit trappers like Marshadow are good teammates because they can beat Mega Gengar and Gothitelle, both of which are great threats to Arceus-Water.
* Primal Groudon is a potent teammate, as it can provide a secondary check to Steel-types, check Fairy-types, provide Stealth Rock support, and potentially act as a powerful wallbreaker. Arceus-Water and Primal Groudon together form a good backbone to combat Primal Kyogre.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Arceus-Water can run Refresh to remove status ailments like burn and poison. It also helps Arceus-Water against Ho-Oh, which will almost always poison it with Toxic. Unfortunately, Arceus-Water heavily struggles fitting Refresh onto its set.
* Roar can be used on Arceus-Water to deter setup sweepers and potentially phaze Shadow Tag users, but it generally struggles to find a moveslot for it.
* Calm Mind turns Arceus-Water into a setup sweeper, but it's heavily outclassed as a Calm Mind Arceus forme, as Arceus-Flying, Arceus-Ground, Arceus-Fairy, and Arceus-Dark all pull this set off with better success.
* Arceus-Water can be used to set Stealth Rock, but this means it has to give up Defog. It also sees a lot of competition as a Stealth Rock setter from other setters like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Dialga. Furthermore, if you want to use an Arceus-forme that can set up Stealth Rock, Arceus-Fairy and Arceus-Ground will be superior in most situations.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Shadow Tag**: Gothitelle is capable of trapping Arceus-Water and setting up on it thanks to Arceus-Water's passive nature. Mega Gengar can also switch into Arceus-Water and, thanks to Taunt and Destiny Bond, can successfully remove Arceus-Water from the match. It's also capable of removing Arceus-Water with Hex if Arceus-Water is afflicted by a status ailment beforehand or if Arceus-Water's only attacking move is Ice Beam.

**Steel-types**: Arceus-Water gets walled by Steel-types like Necrozma-DM, Magearna, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor, since they take relatively nothing from any of Arceus-Water's moves, and they're also incapable of being poisoned thanks to their typing.

**Wallbreakers**: Strong wallbreakers like Primal Kyogre, Ultra Necrozma, and Yveltal are capable of overpowering Arceus-Water thanks to their strong attacks.

**Toxapex**: Toxapex takes very little damage from any move Arceus-Water can use on it and is immune to Toxic thanks to its Poison typing. In return, it can cripple Arceus-Water with Toxic.

**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-types like Arceus-Grass and Shaymin-S are capable of threatening Arceus-Water with their respective STAB moves, but they don't like switching into Ice Beam or the rare Fire Blast.

**Status**: Toxic greatly cuts into Arceus-Water's longevity. Burns and paralysis also cripple Arceus-Water to an extent but not as much as Toxic does.

Not QC, but I’d make Toxic a required move with no slashing. Toxic is the best way for Arceus-Water to check Primal Groudon, and it’ll struggle to do so without it, especially when going up against offensive sets.

Defog should be the optional move with slashing. You’re able to run a different Defogger such as Giratina-O, Mega Salamence, Xerneas, etc to have the ability to run Toxic/Recover/Judgment/Ice Beam or Toxic/Recover/Ice Beam/ Fire Blast on your Arceus-Water to help it take on more Pokémon than it would if it was a mono-attacking set.

I think Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave deserve a mention in Moves rather than Other Options. Necrozma-DM is an S-rank threat, and Waterceus can handle boosting variants exceptionally well if it chooses to run an alternate status move in addition to Toxic. Similarly, Refresh allows it to better check Toxic variants of Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh and act as a general status absorb. Running these options does come at the expense of being able to either defog, wear down primal groudon, or check mega salamence or ho-oh. However, these roles can easily be covered by its team. Currently Arceus-Water is a very versatile glue mon that can be customised to a team's needs to check a large range of different threats, and I think the set on the analysis should reflect that.

Well u see, if u run wisp ur completely walled by Pdon which is not good since ur supposed to wall it. I'll let t-wave to qc bc i havent rly used it and once again ur walled by pdon

Change the slashing to:

move 1: Recover
move 2: Toxic
move 3: Defog / Ice Beam
move 4: Ice Beam / Judgment

Add Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave to moves behind Fire Blast. Recover and Toxic should be used on virtually all support Arceus-Water sets, so if you're using WoW or T Wave its going to be dual status. Refresh and Roar should be top mentions in OO.

Makes these changes and I'll stamp.

In the overview don't say that Arceus-Water outspeeds Arceus. In the description of Defog list the hazard setters that Arceus-Water can force out. Adjust the descriptions of Ice Beam and Judgment in moves to meet the new set. Judgment's thing is that it hits Ho-Oh and Grounds (not P Don) harder and hits things like Steels for neutral. In the description of T Wave, you probs wouldn't T Wave a Ho-Oh under most circumstances, but you would say a +2 Necrozma-DM. In set details mention maximum Speed and a slower spread that opts for more bulk. In OO for Refresh mention that it allows Arceus-Water to take on Ho-Oh better. In C&C make a "Shadow Tag" section and discuss Gothitelle and Mega Gengar there. Please put status at the end of C&C.

Make these changes and this is:

The overview is pretty minimalist which isn't what I'd expect for a mon like Arceus-Water. Why is its matchup good vs SR mons? Give a more indepth reasoning behind its matchup vs the best mons (Pdon / Dusk) and try to give more details without making the overview massive.
* Arceus-Water is an effective user of Defog thanks to its ability to threaten or wall a lot of common entry hazard setters like Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, Necrozma-DM, and Tyranitar.
SR Arceus-Ground is a rarity these days.
* Fire Blast may also be used since it allows Arceus-Water to prevent Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn from switching in.
With Fire Blast you can actually Defog on Ferrothorn which is a notable trait - its usually Spikes fodder.
* 252 HP evs in conjunction with 64 Defense evs make Arceus-Water as bulky as possible.
Give calcs for both spreads in Set Details to showcase the bulk differences and generally what Arceus-Water is capable of handling.
* Try to avoid Arceus-Water from getting afflicted by Toxic as this will greatly reduce its lifespan but, sometimes it's favorable to take a Toxic if this means Arceus-Water itself can get a Toxic off on Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, and Arceus-Fairy.
I'd only favor this if Arceus-Water has a cleric.

I'll take another look after some changes.

* Arceus-Water is an effective Defogger thanks to its ability to threaten most Stealth Rock setters like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and , thanks to this trait it offers a lot of utility for teams.
the suspense is killing me
* Arceus-Water fits best on defensively oriented teams thanks to its strong defensive presence.
This line says almost nothing to me. Its a balance / bulky offense defensive mon that fits teams that require checks to Primal Groudon (!) and potentially Dusk if its carrying the right move (Wisp, but can also pressure with Judgment) while also providing Defog support. This makes it fit these kinda teams rather often. This is the sort of detail I look for in analyses.
**Shadow Tag**: Gothitelle is capable of trapping Arceus-Water and set up on it thanks to Arceus-Water's passive nature. Mega Gengar can also switch into Arceus-Water and thanks to Taunt and Destiny Bond can successfully remove Arceus-Water from the match.
It can also just 2HKO with Hex if Arceus-Water is statused in any way. If its only running Ice Beam as an attack and gets status'd, its extremely vulnerable to getting trapped because Mega Gengar can hard switch into it and win.

implement for QC 2/3

A couple of things I noticed:

* Similarly to Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave lets Arceus-Water cripple Necrozma-DM and slow down Pokemon such as Xerneas and Necrozma-DM.
You used Necrozma-DM twice.

* Calm Mind turns Arceus-Water into a good wincon, unfortunately it struggles to do this effectively thanks to its weakness to status ailments.
* Arceus-Water can be used to set up Stealth Rock but this means it has to give up Defog, it also sees a lot of competition as a Stealth Rock setter from other Stealth Rock setters.
.
I'd expand on these two points.

Calm Mind Arceus-Water's problems don't just stem from its weakness to status conditions. It could, in theory, run a Refresh + Calm Mind set to deal with status users, but then it also has to deal with the fact that Primal Groudon, the most common Pokemon in the tier, comes in and renders Arceus's Judgment completely useless. Even if it's running a two attacks set like Judgment + Earth Power to deal with Primal Groudon, water resists such as Mega Salamence, Giratina-O, Ferrothorn, and even Ultra Necrozma and Rayquaza if they're healthy enough can come in on this thing with little issues. If it wants to run Ice Beam to deal with those, then Primal Groudon becomes a problem again as boosted Ice Beams don't even do that much damage. As a Calm Minding Water-type, Primal Kyogre has it beat because it can effectively combat Primal Groudon by coming in and forcing it out thanks to the heavy rain, and even if Primal Groudon comes in, Primal Kyogre's unboosted Ice Beam does a lot more damage than Arceus-Water's. As a Calm Mind Arceus form, Arceus-Flying, Arceus-Ground, Arceus-Fairy, and Arceus-Dark are much better at it due to superior types for their Judgment.

As for the Stealth Rock point, I'd go in to further detail that lists which mons outclass it as a Stealth Rock setter, such as Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Dialga. I'd even go so far to mention that Arceus-Ground is the superior Stealth Rock Arceus form to let readers know that that's where they should go if they want to use Stealth Rock on Arceus.

* Be wary of using Defog, Recover, or Toxic with Arceus-Water if the opponent has Gothitelle since if Arceus-Water does stay in the foe can abuse this to set up all over Arceus-Water, double switching is useful to avoid this scenario.
This bullet point is worded weirdly. Like you can mention Judgment, Ice Beam, and Fireblast here too lol because Gothitelle will always be able to trap Waterceus unless it runs Roar or sth. Talk about trapping in general because Mega Gengar can trap Waterceus too and mention how you can avoid this; double switching expecting a switch to trappers.

* Try to avoid Arceus-Water from getting afflicted by Toxic as this will greatly reduce its lifespan but, sometimes it's favorable to take a Toxic if this means Arceus-Water itself can get a Toxic off on Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, and Arceus-Fairy, however, it may be safe to get hit by Toxic with Arceus-Water if its team has a cleric
When is trading Toxic for Toxic favorable? More detailing is required here
* Ice Beam should be used minimally and only against targets that it hits for Super Effective damage like Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence, and Giratina-O. It's also useful to get chip damage off on Primal Groudon that may switch in on a predicted Judgment.
This point contradicts itself. First you talk about only hitting stuff that's weak to Ice Beam then you talk about hitting Primal Groudon for chip damage There is also no reasoning mentioned behind why you should be doing this and to my knowledge, I don't see why this should be a usage tip. I'd remove this point.

There should be usage tips on how to use waterceus as a pivot to check Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon. Write about these instead, they are important points and major reasons for running Arceus-Water.

* Steel-types like Celesteela, Magearna, and Necrozma-DM are capable of checking Gothitelle which Arceus-Water tends to struggle against. Especially Celesteela is a good teammate to Arceus-Water as it provides a secondary check to Mega Salamence; in return Celesteela appreciates Arceus-Water's ability to check Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh.
Celesteela is Gothitelle food so it's actually the opposite. I don't understand how Magearna checks Gothitelle either, yes volt switch means goth can't trap you but does that mean you beat goth? Either way, all these three Pokemon are a ton of other reasons to have them as a partner for Arceus-Water (You already mentioned one for Celesteela, Mag can check fairy-types and dark-types, necrozma checks fairy-types can provide SR support or be a wallbreaker providing offensive presence to the team etc etc).

* Clerical support from Pokemon like Magearna and Xerneas are pretty handy because Arceus-Water gets heavily annoyed by status ailments.
This isn't the only thing Xerneas and Magearna does for Arceus-Water. Talk about more stuff that both of these mons bring to the team. What does Arceus-Water do for them? There needs to be decent synergy when you mention teammates in Team Options!

Add a point talking about notable Pursuit-trappers, Marshadow comes to mind at the end of the Team Options section (cause they let you trap and KO Mega Gengar and Gothitelle)

Add Primal Groudon as a teammate. (beats steel-types, sets up SR, can be a good wallbreaker, can be paired with Waterceus to efficiently check Pogre etc etc)

* Calm Mind turns Arceus-Water into a good wincon. There's a few different options Arceus-Water can run in tandem with Calm Mind, it may be able to run a Calm Mind + Refresh set, this allows it to bypass Toxic, but leaves Arceus-Water completely walled by Primal Groudon, which a Pokemon never wants to be. It can also run Earth Power in tandem with Judgement, but this leaves it completely walled by Pokemon like Mega Salamence, Giratina-O, and even Ultra Necrozma if it's healthy enough; it may be capable of using Ice Beam for these Pokemon, this makes Primal Groudon a big problem, once again. Arceus-Water is also heavily outclassed as an Arceus forme that utilizes Calm Mind, as Arceus-Flying, Arceus-Ground, Arceus-Fairy, and Arceus-Dark all pull this set off with a bigger success rate.
Other Options should have such a huge paragraph explaining what the set does and why you should / should not use it. If the rest of the analysis had this much effort put into it, I'd understand.
The info here is somewhat missleading cause CM Waterceus is not a good wincon. You can remove the parts in bold, reword the initial parts of the last sentence, that's enough!

There are alot of things to implement here so highlight me #analysis channel in Ubers discord once you have made the changes. If you have any questions, do ask in the channel.

[OVERVIEW]

* Thanks to Arceus-Water's good defensive stats and excellent defensive typing in Water, (AC) it's capable of checking some of the top-tier threats like Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence, Ho-Oh, and Necrozma-DM. Its good match up matchup against Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM is especially notable as they are the best Pokemon in the tier, and it has a good match up matchup against them thanks to its raw bulk and typing, which allows it to take most of their attacks with relative ease.
* Arceus-Water's good Speed tier lets it outspeed a wide variety of Pokemon like Mega Lucario and Rayquaza, ultimately allowing it to soft-check them.
* Arceus-Water is an effective Defogger thanks to its ability to threaten most Stealth Rock setters like Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM, and thanks to this trait, (AC) it offers a lot of utility for teams.
* Unfortunately, Arceus-Water is relatively passive, making it vulnerable to Gothitelle, set up setup sweepers, status ailments, and Mega Gengar. (would probably move mega gengar next to gothitelle since they're both trappers, but idk if that's too nitpicky.)
* Arceus-Water can get overwhelmed by Pokemon like Curse and Choice Band Ho-Oh, Swords Dance Arceus-Ground, and Swords Dance Primal Groudon, which it's supposed to check.

Moves
========

(should probably put something specifically about what defog does.)
* Ice Beam can be used instead of Defog or Judgement since it allows Arceus-Water to handle Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and Zygarde-C better.
* Judgment provides Arceus-Water with a strong STAB move that allows it to hit Fire- and Ground-types for a very good amount of damage, (RC). It also hits Steel-types for a good amount of damage, which Ice Beam fails to do.
* Fire Blast may also be used since it allows Arceus-Water to prevent Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn from switching in; Fire Blast also allows Arceus-Water to Defog on Ferrothorn, as it can successfully threaten it.
* Will-O-Wisp can be run on Arceus-Water to check cripple Necrozma-DM and other physical attackers like Marshadow, Arceus, and Mega Salamence.
* Similarly to Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave lets Arceus-Water slow down Pokemon such as Xerneas and Necrozma-DM.

Set Details
========

* 252 HP EVs in conjunction with 64 Defense EVs make Arceus-Water as bulky as possible, which lets it take a +1 Double Edge from Mega Salamence.
* 192 Speed EVs in tandem with a Timid nature allows Arceus-Water to outspeed Mega Lucario and anything slower.
* An alternative EV spread for Arceus-Water would be 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 Spe with a Bold nature, this which allows Arceus-Water to check physical attackers better while still outspeeding base 90 Speed Pokemon, (RC). (period) This EV spread is especially useful for taking on Mega Salamence that is Toxiced badly poisoned with Facade as it is incapable of OHKOing Arceus-Water at +1 with this specific EV spread, (RC). Unfortunately, it does mean that it'll get outsped by Mega Lucario.
* Splash Plate is required to turn Arceus into Arceus-Water thanks due to Multitype, and Judgment into a Water-type STAB move.

Usage Tips
========

* Try to bring Arceus-Water in on Pokemon that it can check like Mega Salamence, Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, and Arceus-Ground.
* Use Recover to keep Arceus-Water as healthy as possible since if it gets too low, (AC) this will give it a hard time checking Pokemon that it's supposed to check.
* Be wary of staying in with Arceus-Water if the opponent has a Shadow Tag user like Gothitelle and Mega Gengar, because, (RC) if Arceus-Water does stay in, (AC) the foe can abuse this to take advantage of this by setting up all over on Arceus-Water, (RC). (period) Double switching is useful to avoid this scenario.
* Try to avoid Arceus-Water from getting afflicted by Toxic, (AC) as this will greatly reduce its lifespan, (AC) but, (RC) sometimes it's favorable to take a Toxic if this means Arceus-Water itself can get a Toxic off on Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, and Arceus-Fairy, (RC). (period) This is especially useful if Arceus-Water's team needs any of these Pokemon weakened. Arceus-Water also may be safe to get hit by Toxic if its team has a cleric.
* Use Defog on Pokemon that it can force out like Arceus-Ground and Mega Salamence to avoid taking damage while removing entry hazards since it's susceptible to chip damage.
* Arceus-Water can be used to pivot into Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre to take their respective STAB moves, (RC). (period) After that, (AC) it can pivot into a Pokemon that can beat both of these Pokemon.

Team Options
========

* Arceus-Water fits best on defensively oriented teams that need its ability to check Primal Groudon and potentially Necrozma-DM depending on Arceus-Water's moveset; it also provides a Defogger for its team, this which makes it a great fit on these type of teams.
* Steel-types like Celesteela, Magearna, and Necrozma-DM are good teammates, (AC). especially Celesteela, (AC) as it provides a secondary check to Mega Salamence; in return Celesteela appreciates Arceus-Water's ability to check Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh. (this part feels a bit unnecessary since you mention that they all appreciate arceus checking fires and grounds to the end of the point.) Magearna is capable of checking both Fairy- and Dark-types. Necrozma-DM can provide a check to Fairy-types, provide Stealth Rock support, or act as a powerful wallbreaker. They all appreciate Arceus-Water's ability to take on Fire- and Ground-type Pokemon.
* Arceus-Water appreciates a secondary Primal Groudon check because this takes pressure off of Arceus-Water, (RC). (period) Pokemon like Zygarde-C, Giratina-O, and Mega Salamence can do this.
* Clerical support from Pokemon like Magearna and Xerneas are is pretty handy because Arceus-Water gets is heavily annoyed by status ailments. Arceus-Water can check Primal Groudon for them, which both struggle against.
* Set up Setup sweepers like Xerneas, Rayquaza, and Mega Salamence appreciate the hazard removal that Arceus-Water provides.
* Pursuit trappers like Marshadow are good teammates because they can beat Mega Gengar and Gothitelle, both of which are great threats to Arceus-Water.
* Primal Groudon is a potent teammate as it can do a multitude of things for Arceus-Water, it such as provides providing a secondary check to Steel-types, checks checking Fairy-types, provide providing Stealth Rock support, or can and potentially acting as a powerful wallbreaker. Together they form a good backbone to combat Primal Kyogre.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Arceus-Water can run Refresh to remove status ailments like burn and poison, (RC). (period) It also helps Arceus-Water against Ho-Oh, which will almost always Toxic it, (RC). Unfortunately, Arceus-Water heavily struggles fitting it on to its set.
* Roar can be used on Arceus-Water to deter set up setup sweepers, but it generally struggles to find a moveslot to fit for it in.
* Calm Mind turns Arceus-Water into a wincon, (AC). but, (RC) it's heavily outclassed as an Arceus forme that utilizes Calm Mind, as Arceus-Flying, Arceus-Ground, Arceus-Fairy, and Arceus-Dark all pull this set off with a better success rate.
* Arceus-Water can be used to set up Stealth Rock, (AC) but this means it has to give up Defog, (RC). (period) It also sees a lot of competition and is outclassed as a Stealth Rock setter (saying that it is both outclassed and faces competition feels a bit redundant.) from other Stealth Rock setters like Primal Groudon, Necrozma-DM, and Dialga. Furthermore, if you want to use an Arceus-forme that can set up Stealth Rock, Arceus-Fairy and Arceus-Ground will be superior in most situations.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Shadow Tag**: Gothitelle is capable of trapping Arceus-Water and settingup on it thanks to Arceus-Water's passive nature. Mega Gengar can also switch into Arceus-Water, (AC) and thanks to Taunt and Destiny Bond, (AC) can successfully remove Arceus-Water from the match, (RC). (period) It's also capable of removing Arceus-Water with Hex if Arceus-Water is afflicted by a status ailment before hand beforehand, or if Arceus-Water's only attacking move is Ice Beam.

**Steel-types**: Arceus-Water gets walled by Steel-types like Necrozma-DM, Magearna, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor since they take relatively nothing from any of Arceus-Water's moves, they're also incapable of being poisoned thanks to their typing. (probs mention fire blast here.)

**Wallbreakers**: Strong wallbreakers like Primal Kyogre, Necrozma-U, and Yveltal are capable of overpowering Arceus-Water thanks to their extreme power.

**Toxapex**: Toxapex takes nothing very little from any move Arceus-Water can use on it and is immune to Toxic thanks to its Poison typing, (RC). (period) In return, (AC) it can severely cripple Arceus-Water with Toxic.

**Grass-type Pokemon**: Grass-types like Arceus-Grass and Shaymin-S are capable of threatening Arceus-Water with their respective STAB moves, however they don't like switching into Ice Beam nor the the rare Fire Blast.

**Status**: Toxic greatly cuts into Arceus-Water's longevity, (AC) making it last a lot shorter, (RC). (period) Burns and paralysis also cripple Arceus-Water to an extent, (AC) but not as well much as Toxic does.

[OVERVIEW]

* Thanks to Arceus-Water's good defensive stats and excellent defensive typing in Water, it's capable of checking some of the top-tier threats like Primal Groudon, Zygarde-C, Mega Salamence, Ho-Oh, and Necrozma-DM. Its good matchup against Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM is especially notable as they are the best Pokemon in the tier, and it has a good matchup against them thanks to its raw bulk and typing, which allows it to take most of their attacks with relative ease.
* Arceus-Water's good Speed tier lets it outspeed a wide variety of Pokemon like Mega Lucario and Rayquaza, allowing it to soft-check them.
* Arceus-Water is an effective Defogger thanks to its ability to threaten most Stealth Rock setters like Primal Groudon and Necrozma-DM, and thanks to this trait, it offers a lot of utility for teams.

Moves

* Recover enables Arceus-Water to regain health and prevent it from getting worn down too much.
* Toxic allows Arceus-Water to cripple common bulky Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, Arceus-Fairy, and Ho-Oh.
* Arceus-Water is an effective user of Defog thanks to its ability to threaten or wall a lot of common entry hazard setters like Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, Necrozma-DM, and Tyranitar.
* Ice Beam can be used instead of Defog or Judgement since it allows Arceus-Water to handle Mega Salamence, Rayquaza, and Zygarde-C better.
* Judgment provides Arceus-Water with a strong STAB move that allows it to hit Fire- and Ground-types for a very good amount of damage.
* Will-O-Wisp can be run on Arceus-Water to cripple Necrozma-DM and other physical attackers like Marshadow, Arceus, and Mega Salamence.
* Similarly to Will-O-Wisp, Thunder Wave lets Arceus-Water slow down Pokemon such as Xerneas and Necrozma-DM.

Also idk I feel like Judgment + Ice Beam together should also be mentioned (it is a possible combination with this set slashing) for Arceus-Water's maximum defensive effectiveness, but you're the QCer here)

* Recover enables Arceus-Water to regain health and prevent it from getting worn down too much.

* Judgment provides Arceus-Water with a strong STAB move that allows it to hit Fire- and Ground-types for a very good amount of damage hard. (repetition) It also hits most Steel-types for a good amount of damage, which Ice Beam fails to do.

* Be wary of staying in with Arceus-Water if the opponent has a Shadow Tag user like Gothitelle and or Mega Gengar because if Arceus-Water does stay in, the foe can take advantage of this by setting up on Arceus-Water. (this is really vague, "stay in" as in stay in and get trapped I'm guessing, but at the very least MGar won't set up on Arceus, and idk Ubers well anymore, does Gothitelle still run CM sets? If you mean, "if Arceus-Water gets trapped, the opponent can take advantage of this by crippling it for another Pokemon to set up on" then say so) Double switching is useful to avoid this scenario.
* Try to avoid Arceus-Water from getting afflicted by Toxic, as this will greatly reduce its longevity, but sometimes it's favorable to take a Toxic if this means Arceus-Water itself can get a Toxic off on a Pokemon like Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, and or Arceus-Fairy.

========

Other Options
=============

* Arceus-Water can run Refresh to remove status ailments like burn and poison. It also helps Arceus-Water against Ho-Oh, which will almost always poison it with Toxic. Unfortunately, Arceus-Water heavily struggles fitting Refresh onto its set.
* Roar can be used on Arceus-Water to deter setup sweepers and potentially phaze out Shadow Tag users, but it generally struggles to find a moveslot for it.

===================
