Arcturus break-up

So Arcturus have broken up.

Is there anyone here besides me and DM1 who listens to these guys? Their post-black metal bordering on avantgarde compositions have always struck me as being particularly good.

I heard about this a few days ago, but i thought it was just a rumour.

Oh. I had read in The Metal Observer that they were planning a new album. I was looking forward to that and then this happened.

some of their stuff is pretty great, but they definitely lose me sometimes. it's a shame, one of the few good black metal bands in recent years...

I owned La Masquerade Infernale before my CD collection got jacked.

It was a good album, although really hard to follow at times, especially on the first couple of songs. The way they arranged the lyrics on the booklet didn't help.

Shame to hear they broke up.

Yep. This had been an ongoing rumor for about 2 weeks, until the Arcturus dudes made it official. It sucks, I still hold Arcturus as one of my top bands, and I never got to see them live. This doesn't mean they won't come back, they broke up after La Masquerade Infernale anyway @_@ But its a shame either way.
