How viable would azumarill with natural gift be? It should give it a one-off coverage move that help lure its checks are counters. Just my 2 cents.

Natural Gift is actually a very nice option for Azumarill, especially with a Watmel Berry. Leftiez was the one who came up with the set but it allows Azumarill to get past Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross, Skarmory, and Jirachi, as well as Grass-types such as Celebi and Amoonguss. It's a pretty cool lure yeah.

Speaking of berries AM mentioned Custap Berry Azumarill which seems pretty cool too xd

Hey,

as you can see, Natural Gift (Watmel berry) is mainly a lure for mega Scizor.

It cannot 2hko Skarmory as the move cannot be used twice and doesn't do enough damage for its other moves to follow up into a 2hko. The way to 2hko Skarmory is with banded waterfall on rocks, either after a knock off (58.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock) or with a flinch.
Note that Skarmory isn't a very good Azu switch in unless it runs speed, due to this 30% chance to 2hko with a flinch.

vs Ferrothorn, your opponent might expect banded superpower so I'd only assign maybe a 60% chance they make the switch (depending on their other options). Then in 40% of the cases you'll blow your berry on another switch and Azu will be useless because now Ferro is a Hardcounter.
I'd rather have superpower which isn't an ohko but can be used multiple times in case you miss your target. If you're running the berry you'd have to make them think you have belly drum - then ferro might seem save to them if they have an unaware user to stop the drum.

252+ Atk Watmel Berry Huge Power Azumarill Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 152-180 (45.5 - 53.8%)
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 135-160 (40.4 - 47.9%) -- 4.7% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 135-160 (40.4 - 47.9%) -- 58.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ Atk Watmel Berry Huge Power Azumarill Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 360-424 (104.9 - 123.6%)
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Azumarill Waterfall vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 160-189 (46.6 - 55.1%) -- 66% chance to 2HKO

252+ Atk Watmel Berry Huge Power Azumarill Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 360-424 (102.2 - 120.4%)
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Superpower vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 214-252 (60.7 - 71.5%)

Something else I thought is maybe worth mentioning is that if you're not bothered about speed investment on your BD Azumarill (which I never would, even if I wasn't running Trick Room - who cares about outspeeding neutral 70s? Skarmory is OHKOed after SR and BD with Waterfall and can do little in return, and things like Sylveon are OHKOed by BellyJet, so I don't see the point), then I'd advise running full def and full attack with Adamant.

Full def makes you much more survivable to strong physical attacks from opponents who switch who think they can take Aqua Jet and KO, for example:

252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 195-229 (57 - 66.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Play Rough vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 163-193 (47.6 - 56.4%) -- 85.9% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Psyshock vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 156-185 (45.6 - 54%) -- 46.9% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Bisharp Iron Head vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 127-151 (37.1 - 44.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 109-130 (31.8 - 38%) -- 94.5% chance to 3HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 214-253 (62.5 - 73.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Dragonite Extreme Speed vs. 4 HP / 252 Def Azumarill: 90-106 (26.3 - 30.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

With things like Mega Metagross, Latios (barring Thunderbolt) and Mega Scizor this really gives you an edge - allowing you to take a hit and hit back hard with something that will OHKO (Waterfall works in all those situations) and then if they lack priority or a Rocky Helmet/Iron Barbs/Rough Skin user you can try for the BellyJet sweep. With Talonflame, as long as rocks aren't in play, you can survive a hit even from the Revenge Killer set - which would normally assume you were an easy OHKO.
