/B/utterfree's 1st (and-a-half) Tale: UberSect Sequel? (Ubers Warstory)

Hearing of Gen. Empoleon's Warstory where a Parasect was Uber strong, I went right away to creating a good Ubers team for him to work with. With many a revision, I've settled with this motley crew you see before you.

My opponent and I both played decently, so I decided to write it down immediately after finishing the battle.

My Team:

My Opponent's (Gates) Team:

One quick note, my opponent actually had a Giratina-o; however, I cannot find the sprite of Giratina-o from the website I had received.

B/utterfree sent out Brood Lord (lvl 100 Gliscor ♂)!
Gates sent out Poker Face (lvl 100 Mewtwo)!
Poker Face is exerting its Pressure!

My first reaction was: "This Mewtwo is going to use Trick!" So, I decided to select U-turn as my move of choice to get out.

@/B/utterfree: good game, and worthy of Warstory

My opponent and I did handsomely, so I recorded the story as he left, and decided to tell the tale of how Parasect saved my team from complete failure.

Props:
* Gliscor denting Mewtwo heavily while getting a Scarf that proved helpful in the end.
* Dialga demolishing Giratina-o with a Draco Meteor.
* Parasect OHKOing Darkrai while Paralyzed.
* Gliscor finishing Kyogre and Dialga off.
* My opponent in general did well in countering mine.

Slops:
* Letting Heatran die so easily.
* Mew getting Roar'd while trying to pass a Swords Dance.
* Overall, my playing was somewhat overconfident, and this cost me my Heatran and Palkia.

Note-to-self: I need to fix Heatran and Gliscor's movepools to handle different scenarios better. Much better.

But hey, stay Uber strong everybody!

hey butterfree remember me? you vsed me yesterday. Nice warstory, really shows how a parasect can be effective in Ubers.

I remember some opponents I VSed.

I don't really feature in anyone else's warstories, so I decided to make one of my own.

And yes, Parasect makes for excellency in Ubers. To allow Mew to Baton Pass Rock Polishes and Swords Dances (I almost changed it to Smeargle to allow Cosmic Powers and Dragon Dances to be Baton Passed), I needed a Gliscor lead to handle Taunters and the Deoxys trio.

Gliscor is cool, too! :D With Poison Heal, I definitely look forward to using him in Ubers as my Lead in Gen. 5, for non-mono-Isshu group.

I stopped when you did a fail approach vs mewtwo. Strange as most mewtwo leads would ice beam gliscor.

yeah... This story isn't too great. The commentary doesn't really exist, a few sentences every 10 log lines isn't commentary. The moves were misplayed quite a bit. The "strategy" of your team is ruined without a Kyogre, and Kyogre isn't guaranteed every match.

Well, I shall change my teammates a bit, as well as their movepools (Heatran + Will-o-wisp = Not too good in Ubers; Toxic is better).

In Ubers, I especially love Darkrai and he would not only support Parasect with Sleep in advance, but also be a good switch-in against a sleeping Dialga.

Yeah, a standard Kyogre lead ought to compose part of my F/W/G core. I already have Parasect and Heatran, and they make excellent synergy if used right.

Hey, I'm in this warstory!

Turn 0 - I'm pretty sure we played before that night, otherwise I wouldn't have commented on how slow the ladder was. I forget how our first encounter went, but I think I beat you when you were using a different team.

Turn 10 - I think this was where I had my first mistake. If I had sent out Dialga (which was scarfed) I could have killed yours on the spot or at least Draco Meteor'd something which would probably have resulted in a kill. I think I went to Giratina-O because I wanted a fire resist but didn't want to go to Kyogre because like every Dialga carries Thunder and I didn't want to risk losing a Specs Kyogre over my opponent turning out not to be Scarfed. So instead I sacrificed something that I arguably needed more? =/

Turn 12 -
Not like he has a *sunglasses* Choice, or anything...
YYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH

Turn 13 - I'm actually wondering now what would have happened if I had Roared instead of Stone Edged. In retrospect it probably would have been the best choice since I had already eliminated Palkia and Dialga, two of the most threatening things Groudon can see besides Kyogre and Lati@s, and I knew that all you had was a choiced attacker who was weak to Ice Beam, a Baton Passer, and a mystery pokemon. Still, I wanted to test how much damage it would do for future reference (if there was a future).

Turn 17 - I can't believe I used Hydro Pump again. I am so dumb. I am really dumb. Fo real.

Turn 22 - I still don't understand how Dark Pulse missed. Were you running BrightPowder?

Post-game -
@/B/utterfree: good game, and worthy of Warstory
I actually don't remember you saying that. It was more like:

Gates: ggs
/B/utterfree: ggs

That's just what I remember anyway.

Props -
* My opponent in general did well in countering mine.
Thanks but I didn't do that good a job lol.

I stopped when you did a fail approach vs mewtwo. Strange as most mewtwo leads would ice beam gliscor.
I'm not going to lie, I had no idea how to approach a lead Gliscor because I've never seen one before. Ice Beam definitely would have been the correct choice though.

It was an 'okay' warstory and a less than 'okay' battle in my opinion. You may want to look at the other warstories in the archive as they are exemplary. Also, just to be a bit helpful, try this site for sprites; they've also updated their sprite index with Pokemon Black and White sprites.

It was a meh warstory, and a very below meh battle, BUT you get mad +++points for making a Horatio joke. I lol'd.

Yeah, tried to read through this but it was way too much of a chore. Any chance you could edit in their real names?
