Thank you Laurens for this sick banner !
The Project:

Ever faced a powerful team that sent you looking for a brick wall to bang your head against or spent the day laughing because you used such a team to stomp the meta? Such teams can define metas yet everyone knows those moments don't last forever and sooner or later the teams flaws will be exposed for the world to see and a group of Pokemon will emerge to break it. The purpose of this thread is to find said weaknesses and create cores that can break the teams of infamy because deep down everyone knows no team is truly invincible.
This project aims to look at see how certain mons that work together to exploit said weakness, in other words a core that can break/destroy a team. This can help fine tune teams in order to prevent them from getting destroyed by a simple core.
Anyways, without further ado, here are the rules.

Rules:
1. Each week I will pick a team and during the submission period, everyone can talk about what cores they think breaks a team and submit a core that they think is the most threatening to that team. In other words, what core they think beats the selected team and why?

2. Cores must have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 Pokemon provided with full sets. Each core must be submitted with at least two lines of description, stating with the given core breaks the prescribed team. You can also talk about the weaknesses of the team being broken if you wish. In addition, all Pokemon nominated must be at least C- on the viability rankings unless they have an extremely well known niche (e.g. Magnet Pull Probopass). Anyone who posts crap like AV Swalot or DD Tropius will have their posts deleted.

3. After the submission phase has passed, everyone will vote on the core that they believe is the most threatening to the team. Each person will be allowed 1 vote.

4. The winner of each round will be placed in the Hall of Fame with their core.

5. Please post cores no later than 24 hours after reserving them.

6. Good luck, have fun, and most importantly no one liners!

The first team to start this project off is a team made by Eternally, starring interesting threats such as Medicham and Z-Growth Whimsicott.

reserving tomb and emboar

Emboar @ Choice Band
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Wild Charge
- Superpower
- Grass Knot

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Dark Pulse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Really simple concept here. Half of his team just straight loses to Tomb because they can't hit it and it can cripple them with wisp and the more defensive side/whimsicott really struggles versus Emboar. This core isn't perfect and almost straight loses to whimsi if it gets z-growth off.

Whimsicott @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Giga Drain
- Encore
- Leech Seed

Piloswine @ Eviolite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Superpower

Spiritomb @ Choice Band
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Shadow Sneak
- Trick

So basically, offensive Whimsi breaks down everything except Cryogonal. Every mon on eternally's team either takes a ton from Moonblast, or is Jellicent, who obviously loses the 1v1. Seed is in the 4th slot to keep Piloswine topped up because that's our Cryo switchin + lure because Superpower is a clean OHKO. Piloswine is also our Scarf Drap counter, for whenever that comes in to try and revenge Whimsi, and also part of our Z-Growth Whimsicott solution thanks to Ice Shard.

3rd member of the core is BandTomb, providing a great pivot switch into Medicham (then you can either Sneak it or Pursuit it), secondary Cryogonal solution, and completes our Whimsicott answer with another strong priority move.

I hate using defensive options to counter teams, so let me use an offensive core that will screwdrive the team into oblivion.

My nominations are usually uncommon and usually unique (not mainstream), but they usually work and are very realistic and practical (or, at least, I use them anyway). Without further ado, let's go!

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Hyper Voice
- Psychic

Calm Mind Meloetta hurts this team a lot. It can literally delete 4/6 of the team with ease after a +1, and actually the entire team with a simple Psychic/Normal coverage. Meloetta can easily set up on Jellicent, with its pathetic Scalds and WoW can't hit past Substitute. With a Substitute up, Drapion fails to revenge kill; breaking her sub costs Drapion its life. The team is generally slow, sans Scarf Drapion and Whimsicott (and Cryogonal), but only the former poses a threat to Meloetta, the latter two fail to even threaten Meloetta off her base 128 Special Defense, much less when she's boosted. In fact, they give her even more setup opportunities, especially behind a Sub, so optimally they would not be switching in.

Meloetta deletes everything on the team after a +1:

+1 252 SpA Meloetta Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Drapion: 277-327 (98.5 - 116.3%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
+1 252 SpA Meloetta Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Whimsicott: 277-327 (106.1 - 125.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252 SpA Meloetta Psychic vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 210-247 (52.1 - 61.2%) -- 96.1% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

With the exception of Rhydon, who is 2HKOed:
+1 252 SpA Meloetta Psychic vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Eviolite Rhydon: 186-219 (44.9 - 52.8%) -- 25% chance to 2HKO
Rhydon can only 2HKO her back. Meloetta will win the 1v1 if she starts with a +1 because she is faster.

Anyway, that set was just a lure. Hopefully, Meloetta was played reasonably, and the only walls on the team: Jellicent, Drapion, and Rhydon are dead, or severely weakened. If the opponent isn't dead yet,

Braviary (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Return
- U-turn
- Superpower

Scarf Braviary has a very easy time cleaning up, thanks to CM Meloetta breaking the opponent's walls and threatening the entire team. It's an offensive check that can threaten out the opponent's Whimsicott even after it has successfully used Growth. U-turn gives momentum in the event Jellicent or Rhydon switches in, for a teammate (read: Meloetta or [retroactively added] Medicham) to take advantage of. The remaining Cryogonal, Medicham, and Whimsicott are OHKOed by not-even-Adamant Brave Bird, which is the most realistic and common set.

My core only comprised of two mons, but I am entitled up to three. So here's a bonus:

Medicham @ Choice Band
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Thunder Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Zen Headbutt

Medicham really helps Braviary out if Meloetta somehow failed at her job and failed to hurt Rhydon enough; or Meloetta could only land one hit on Rhydon. Nothing on the team, bar Jellicent, enjoys taking a Banded HJK from Medicham. Jellicent, however, is perfect setup bait for Meloetta. So, the hypothetical argument reaches back to the start.

Physically Defensive Jellicent can be hurt pretty badly on-the-switch, if Meloetta somehow didn't kill it (hypothetically)

252 Atk Choice Band Pure Power Medicham Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Jellicent: 270-318 (66.8 - 78.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Basically, what I mean to say is, after Jellicent is dead, Medicham and Braviary can both help each other to clean house.

And that's my offensive core that will break the team, starring Meloetta, who I personally think deserves S rank.

Delphox @ Firium Z
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sunny Day
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Psychic

Whimsicott @ Heat Rock
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sunny Day
- Giga Drain
- Tailwind
- Stun Spore

Victreebel @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Solar Beam
- Sludge Bomb
- Sleep Powder
- Weather Ball

Delphox beats every mon on the team after 1 turn for Z-Sunny Day, bar Jellicent which survives a Solarbeam, but unfort sun doesnt last long enough. It also survives a Knock Off from Drapion thanks to Firium Z, which can come in clutch if Medicham is gone, and the only mon on the team faster than Delphox, being Whimsicott, can't beat it. Whimsicott is a secondary sun setter that allows a late game clean with Victreebel once Drapion has been weakened, while Tailwind can provide the speed for Delphox in case it is not possile to set up Z-Sunny Day. Giga Drain allows it to beat the team's Stealth Rock setter 1v1. Victreebel most of the mons on the team on its own after a bit of chip, aside from Drapion which is 2HKOed.

Calcs:

252 SpA Life Orb Delphox Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Medicham: 269-317 (103 - 121.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Delphox Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Whimsicott in Sun: 620-732 (237.5 - 280.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Life Orb Delphox Solar Beam vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 296-351 (73.4 - 87%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Whimsicott Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Eviolite Rhydon: 220-264 (53.1 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Victreebel Solar Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Medicham: 294-347 (112.6 - 132.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Victreebel Solar Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Drapion: 148-174 (52.6 - 61.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Life Orb Victreebel Weather Ball (100 BP Fire) vs. 216 HP / 0 SpD Cryogonal in Sun: 304-359 (85.6 - 101.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Eevee @ Eevium Z
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD

Xatu @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Grass Knot
- Roost

Eevee just destroys the team more or less, really only prior damage on Jelli and Rhydon is needed+ Drapion is sort of annoying, so keep rocks off with Xatu so trapinch has a sash v Drapion, hopefully kill Drapion. Xatu is here to prevent Rocks, and if you predict the Xatu 3 Hits don't kill.
Not a lot of Xatu run Grass Knot rn, so Rhydon might be confident enough to stay in, Grass Knot damage is enough for Eevee later. Everything else is basically explained in the calcs.

+2 252 SpA Adaptability Eevee Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Drapion: 260-308 (92.5 - 109.6%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
+2 252 SpA Adaptability Eevee Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Medicham: 260-308 (99.6 - 118%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
+2 0- Atk Adaptability Eevee Last Resort vs. 216 HP / 0 Def Cryogonal: 386-456 (108.7 - 128.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Adaptability Eevee Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Whimsicott: 260-308 (99.6 - 118%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
+2 252 SpA Eevee Stored Power (220 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Eviolite Rhydon: 214-252 (51.6 - 60.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Eevee Stored Power (220 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Jellicent: 242-285 (60 - 70.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ Atk Trapinch Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Drapion: 276-326 (98.2 - 116%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

0 SpA Jellicent Scald vs. +2 0 HP / 0 SpD Eevee: 54-64 (21.5 - 25.4%) -- 0.4% chance to 4HKO

252 Atk Choice Band Diglett Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Rhydon: 164-194 (39.6 - 46.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

16+ Atk Rhydon Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 240 Def Xatu: 234-276 (70 - 82.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Xatu Grass Knot (100 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Eviolite Rhydon: 236-280 (57 - 67.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

was thinking a cb diglett to trap and weaken rhydon for stored power with memento potentially
also, memento whims does a ton of dmg and gives eevee set up opportunities
charti on xatu might be an idea but that kinda screams gk

Offensive core of Ludi + Evio Scyther. Modest Ludicolo in rain out speeds the entire team, including scarf Drapion, and can OHKO/2HKO the entire team. Scyther has enough speed to out run cryogonal and beat it with Roost + SD. Scyther can beat Drapion with Roost + SD, even after being knocked off barring a poison from poison jab. Scyther also eats a Thunder Punch + Bullet Punch combo from Medicham and can OHKO in return. U-Turn on Scyther helps Ludi come in on Rhydon and Jellicent easier. I'd recommend a spinner / defogger to help support Scyther. These two also benefit from Stealth Rocks & Spikes being up.

80 Atk Technician Scyther Aerial Ace vs. 216 HP / 0 Def Cryogonal: 196-232 (55.2 - 65.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

80 Atk Technician Scyther Aerial Ace vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Medicham: 288-342 (110.3 - 131%) -- guaranteed OHKO

smh people stealing melo and or garb

Probably starting my posts here with a very simple and obvious core of Meloetta and Garbodor.
The team seemingly has a number of glaring offensive weakness like a lack of Psychic and Ice resist for example.

Into the core, Meloetta is the best Psychic-type against the team, taking out something almost everytime it safely comes in, and the team doesn't really have the best of revenge killers for it. The team's best bet is putting enough pressure to set up hazards, then putting it down to KO range of Rotom-C. Fake Out + Sucker Punch Kang is also a good option, but this is where the help of Garbodor comes in. The lack of EQ makes it relatively easier for Garbodor to whittle Kangaskhan down. Although the team does a very good job vs hazard setters, the lack of hazard removal of the team makes Garbodor's Spikes a key for Melo to pick off mons easier, taking advantage of Machamp and Kangaskhan after a teammate faints / predicted hits that Garbodor could tank.

Because Fake Out Kanga is this teams counter to Fight types using Psychic moves, it's always nice to see Virizion just have a field day setting up on Rotom-Mow and proceeding to kill something of choice. Qwilfish optimally gives this by floping about with its whoping Electric weakness, Intimidating Kangaskan and not being compleat wast vs Machamp while it gets a free burn. Providing spikes and strong water attacks to max spD Rhydon and exploding on anything that isn't Rhydon/Mismagius so you get a near free set up.

Meme team that starts with 'M'

based Meloetta destroys the team with CM Psychic set -- the team has no switch-in to heavy Psychic bombardment and must rely on Kanghaskhan to offensively check it. Unfortunately, this meme core is intended to counterteam it and therefore Meloetta holds a Colbur Berry to survive a Sucker Punch / Meloetta can set up Substitute to skilldodge the Sucker Punches too. Since Meloetta is Timid, it will outspeed Adamant Kanga to win 1v1s.

The only way that Meloetta can somehow be stopped is if it gets Tricked a Choice Scarf by Rotom-C; in which case Meloetta will be locked into +1 Scarf Psychic spam. But that is all part of the evil plan.

Without a Scarf, Rotom-C cannot outspeed Malamar at +1, after it has used Z-Happy Hour to boost all its stats by +1. It can use its insane coverage to OHKO the remainders of the team; Superpower allows it to tank attacks from Machamp, Rhydon, and Kanga, while the +1 SpDef from Z-Happy Hour lets it tank the weak Scalds and Shadow Ball from Mismagius.

These two Monsters will ensure the team is broken into Mash!!!

PS: Meloetta shouldn't get Tricked, as Substitute blocks Trick, so if played optimally, Meloetta can solo the entire team!

Ok so I have a very offensive core here
It can go well if a scarf mon is with it and 2 tanks.
Ambi can fake out any non-bulk invested mons and do some serious damage
knock off is there for catching switch in and pyshics
power up is my way of finishing low health mons
Double slap get tech stab and does damage

Emboar is my wall breaker with reckless choice band with a nice stab Flareblitz and Hammer arm. It can chew through evolites and defensive mon

Vikavolt is my Z move you with that Giga-VikaVolt.
It gets thunderbolt and bug buzz for stab, energy ball for coverage and AGility to set up.
It has an impress 145 base special attack and can destroy
