Please don't suggest sets or moves yet, this is a WIP!!!

[Overview]

<p>Behold Chandelure, the poster candelabrum of the Dream World metagame. Since the dawn of BW and Dream World, Chandelure has been among the most heavily contested Pokemon. With Shadow Tag, an ability that shot Wobbuffet to Ubers for two generations, along with an actual movepool and offensive stats surpassing those of Alakazam and Porygon-Z, Chandelure caused a lot of fear and a lot of hype. And how it has lived up to it! With Shadow Tag and Choice Scarf, Chandelure makes a near ideal revenge killer, often making at least a one-for-one trade with your opponent. That is certainly not the extent of its abilities, though. Its ridiculous Special Attack and useable Speed stat allow it to blast your foe away with a Choice Specs set. It can also set up Substitute and boost with Calm Mind against weaker walls, a trait that makes your foe play their defenses more conservatively, sometimes forcing them to run Shed Shell over Leftovers.</p>

<p>However, Chandelure is far from broken. Its Ghost / Fire typing is great offensively but very bad defensively. Its eggshell defenses, a weakness to Stealth Rock and vulnerability to all entry hazards, as well as a Pursuit weakness, often make its time on the field very short. Tyranitar can actually come in to revenge kill Chandelure right back, taking little to nothing from any of Chandelure's attacks in the sand and forcing it out, mauling it with STAB Pursuit. Its base 80 Speed is often a let-down; sometimes a Choice Scarf just doesn't cut it, leaving Chandelure to die to other Choice Scarf users such as Garchomp, Haxorus, and Genesect, as well as failing to outspeed +1 Dragon Dance users such as Salamence. Even with these detriments, don't make the mistake of dismissing Chandelure as a legitimate threat. Whether it is revenge killing, breaking down walls, or punching holes into your opponent's team, Chandelure is an asset to any team style.</p>

[SET COMMENTS]

<p>With a Choice Scarf attached, Chandelure makes for a unique revenge killer. Whereas most Choice Scarf users have to predict wisely before locking themselves into an attack to which an opponent's teammate will be immune, Shadow Tag eliminates this dilemma. Your opponent cannot simply switch to Heatran to absorb the impending Fire Blast. Instead, the match up boils down to a rock-paper-scissors match that you are nearly guaranteed to win, assuming your opponent doesn't hold a Choice Scarf of its own or is named Excadrill. Fire Blast and Shadow Ball are two powerful STAB moves that offer amazing neutral coverage together. Energy Ball wipes Gastrodon and Quagsire off the field, and Hidden Power Ice hits Garchomp, Dragonite, Haxorus, and Hydreigon super effectively.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p>The choice of nature between Modest and Timid is especially important on Chandelure, and depends on who you would rather outspeed or KO more easily. While Timid may seem more logical on Chandelure, Modest supplies it with appreciably more firepower than Timid. This can make the difference between between several guaranteed 2 and OHKOes that Timid simply cannot obtain. With Modest, Chandelure ties with +1 252 Spe Adamant Dragonite and always outspeeds bulkier Dragon Dance variants, allowing it to OHKO Dragonite assuming Multiscale has been broken. Timid only offers a few benefits, allowing Chandelure to outspeed 252 +1 Adamant Dragonite and Gyarados and to tie with Jolly Dragonite.</p>

<p>
-Heatran walls this set into eternity, so Hidden Power Ground is an option
-Tyranitar can revenge with Pursuit making it a one off trade
-If used on a sun-based team, Choice Band Dugtrio can come in on ttar following a Pursuit and ko it with EQ

Overheat should be slashed with Fire Blast on the Scarf set, and to be honest should go first: it hits harder, is more accurate and the stat drop doesn't matter since you're normally switching out after using it. And maybe Flamethrower in one of the last 2 slots or mentioned in AC?

Sorry Nix, but food for thought

Back when I had this under my wing, I used a SunnyBeamer set as suggested by shrang Here, and it works wonders in setting up sun in the face of Pokemon such as T-tar and Politoed and removing them with a SolarBeam, making it easier to set up the weather of choice later on. It deserves a set, prob after the Substitute sets.

Ah yes i was contemplating putting on a SunnyBeamer set so Shrang doesn't strangle me!

And maybe Flamethrower in one of the last 2 slots or mentioned in AC?
One of the benefits of holding a Choice Scarf is that Chandelure is able to use four attacks. The given moves give it absolute maximum coverage; HP Ice slays Gliscor and Energy Ball kills Gastrodon and Quagsire.

HP Ice is more for Garchomp / Dragonite, since I'm pretty sure Gliscor is 2HKOed by Shadow Ball / Fire Blast anyway, but yea, Flamethrower is pathetically weak in comparison to Fire Blast / Overheat.
