[SET COMMENTS]
A Choice Scarf combined with high-power STAB moves, great physical bulk, and high Attack makes Great Tusk one of the best options on Ground teams for a wallbreaker and late-game cleaner, threatening the likes of Choice Scarf Gholdengo and Kingambit. Close Combat hits different threats to Ground teams like Choice Specs Greninja and Hoopa-U. Headlong Rush OHKOes Flutter Mane. Earthquake can be used over Headlong Rush despite its lower power due to not causing Defense and Special Defense drops, making it better for sweeping. Ice Spinner targets the likes of Garchomp, Dragonite, Gliscor, and Landorus. Alternatively, Stone Edge targets Flying- and Bug-types such as Articuno, Talonflame, and Volcarona. Megahorn can also be used to target Grass- and Psychic-types such as Ogerpon-W, Latios, and Slowbro; Slowbro is notably 2HKOed by it after Stealth Rock damage. Knock Off prevents Air Balloon Gholdengo from walling Great Tusk, and it also removes items from foes such as Heavy-Duty Boots from Gyarados and Brambleghast and Leftovers from Corviknight.
Clodsire, Ting-Lu, Hippowdon, and Gliscor provide entry hazard support in wearing down foes to aid Great Tusk, guaranteeing a 2HKO on specially defensive Corviknight and an OHKO on the Ogerpon formes. Additionally, Clodsire provides a Water immunity, and its Poison typing allows it to melt Toxic Spikes and threaten Grass- and Fairy-types such as Meowscarada, Flutter Mane, and Clefable; Ting-Lu phazes setup sweepers such as Volcarona and Dragonite with Whirlwind; Hippowdon sets up sand to wear down foes further; and Gliscor spreads status with Toxic and shuts down passive walls with Taunt. In return, they appreciate Great Tusk dealing with Ice-types like Kyurem. Sand-boosted Excadrill takes out Choice Scarf users such as Iron Valiant, Enamorus, and Iron Boulder. In return, Great Tusk deals with Dragon-types like Garchomp. When Great Tusk chooses to forego Ice Spinner, Mamoswine makes for a great teammate to cover Dragon- and Flying-types like Choice Scarf Latias, Dragonite, and Landorus. Landorus makes for another great partner, as with its colorful coverage, it takes on the likes of Iron Defense Zamazenta, Primarina, and Clefable, and it can also provide Gravity support so Great Tusk fares better against Corviknight and Skarmory. Landorus appreciates Great Tusk taking out Ice-types in return. Iron Treads provides immense utility that helps Great Tusk, such as hazard removal and pivoting via Volt Switch, and it appreciates Great Tusk taking out Excadrill in return. Garchomp is a great late-game sweeper that appreciates Great Tusk's ability to take out bulky Pokemon such as Articuno, Ting-Lu, and Gliscor with the appropriate coverage, which in turn allows Garchomp to sweep much more easily.
