Guts Wallbreaker (Conkeldurr) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Facade
- Knock Off
- Mach Punch

[SET COMMENTS]
Conkeldurr is a niche wallbreaker capable of pressuring common defensive staples like Ting-Lu, Celesteela, Rotom-W, and Hippowdon. It has access to priority in Mach Punch and ability to threaten Fighting-type answers like Mega Venusaur, Clefable, Tapu Fini, and Mega Latias with Guts-boosted Facade. However, Conkeldurr faces competition from other Fighting-types like Okidogi, which can perform a similar role but with much-appreciated longevity thanks to Drain Punch and Bulk Up, and Mega Heracross, which has similar wallbreaking power and a much better Speed tier. Knock Off allows Conkeldurr to hit Aegislash, Slowbro, and Skeledirge super effectively, and Mach Punch allows it to revenge kill faster threats like Excadrill, Greninja, and Hydreigon. The given EV spread allows Conkeldurr to outspeed Clefable. Conkeldurr fits best on bulky offense teams filled with pivot support that can give it safe opportunities to activate its Flame Orb and wallbreak. Slowking and Slowbro can lure in Dark-types like Mega Tyranitar and Hydreigon for Conkeldurr, which forces them out thanks to Mach Punch. Slowking in particular can either set up Future Sight to better pressure Conkeldurr's switch-ins like Buzzwole or use Thunder Wave to cripple faster Dark-types for the rest of the battle. Choice Scarf Hydreigon can use U-turn and lure in defensive Pokemon like Ting-Lu and Celesteela; in return, Conkeldurr can break past defensive Fairy-types like Clefable and Tapu Fini with Guts-boosted Facade. Faster Psychic- and Fairy-types like Mega Latias, Iron Boulder, and Enamorus are not threatened by Mach Punch and can easily force Conkeldurr out, making partners like Ting-Lu, Aegislash, and Scizor good options to deal with these Pokemon. Scizor in particular lure in Celesteela and use U-turn to bring in a teammate that checks it, and it can also revenge kill Iron Boulder and Alakazam with Bullet Punch. Scizor also enjoys Conkeldurr pressuring some of its checks like Skarmory and Rotom-W with Close Combat. Defog Rotom-W is a good partner considering Conkeldurr's lack of longevity due to Flame Orb. Rotom-W can also bring Conkeldurr in with Volt Switch against slower Grass-types like Tangrowth and Amoonguss. Finally, Toxic from Victini and Zeraora can be useful to wear down Conkeldurr's checks, most notably Mega Latias and Buzzwole.

Conkeldurr is a niche wallbreaker capable of pressuring common defensive staples like Ting-Lu, Celesteela, Rotom-W, and Hippowdon. Its main traits advantages Clearer wording over Iron Hands are its access to priority in Mach Punch and ability to threaten Fighting-type answers like Mega Venusaur, Clefable, Tapu Fini, and Buzzwole with Guts-boosted Facade Maybe mention another Fighting Check here like Mega Latias. However, Conkeldurr faces competition from other Fighting-types like Swords Dance Iron Hands and Bulk Up Okidogi, which can perform a similar role but with a much appreciated longevity thanks to Drain Punch and its their natural bulk. Knock Off allows it to hit Aegislash, Slowbro, and Skeledirge super effectively. Mach Punch allows Conkeldurr to revenge kill faster threats like Excadrill, Greninja, and Hydreigon. The given EV spread allows it to outspeed Clefable. Conkeldurr fits best on bulky offense teams filled with pivot support that can give it safe opportunities to proc its Flame Orb and wallbreak Give a few examples of pivots other than Choice Scarf Hydreigon (preferably slow volt/switch/port). Choice Scarf Hydreigon can use U-turn and lure in defensive Pokemon like Ting-Lu and Celesteela; in return, Conkeldurr can lure and break past defensive Fairy-types like Clefable and Tapu Fini with Boosted Facades Important to clarify that Conk lures specific fairies. Faster Psychic-types like Mega Latias, Iron Boulder, and Alakazam are not threatened by Mach Punch and can easily force out Conkeldurr, making partners like Ting-Lu, Aegislash, and Scizor good options to deal with these Pokemon I would also mention Offensive Fairy-types (like Tapu Fini and Enamorus) here since they also resist mach punch and can pick Conk off. Scizor in particular can use U-turn to lure in Celesteela, revenge kill Iron Boulder and Alakazam with Bullet Punch, and enjoys Conkeldurr pressuring some of its checks, like Skarmory and Rotom-W with Close Combat. Finally, Toxic from Victini and Zeraora can be useful to wear down Conkeldurr's checks, most notably Mega Latias and Buzzwole. Mention hazard removal (like Rotom-Wash) since Conk hates Spikes chip in the long run.

If you mention Slowbro/Slowking in the analysis, you can mention Future sight (helps vs Buzzwole and Mega Venu, chips Mega Latias, makes it tougher to switch into in general).

Its main advantages over other Fighting-types are its access to priority in Mach Punch and ability to threaten Fighting-type answers like Mega Venusaur, Clefable, Tapu Fini, and Mega Latias with Guts-boosted Facade. (could be worth rephrasing to 'It has access to to priority in Mach Punch and ability to threaten Fighting-type answers like Mega Venusaur, Clefable, Tapu Fini, and Mega Latias with Guts-boosted Facade' so both this sentence and the one after aren't comparisons, but up to you) However, Conkeldurr faces competition from other Fighting-types like Okidogi, which can perform a similar role but with a much appreciated longevity much-appreciated longevity thanks to Drain Punch and Bulk Up, (AC) and Mega Heracross, which has similar wallbreaking power and a much better Speed tier. Slowking in particular can either set up Future Sight to better pressure Conkeldurr's switch-ins like Buzzwole (RC) or use Thunder Wave to cripple faster Dark-types for the rest of the battle. Choice Scarf Hydreigon can use U-turn and lure in defensive Pokemon like Ting-Lu and Celesteela; in return, Conkeldurr can lure and (a lure is generally something unexpected like coverage or an uncommon boosting ite, but facade is the main slash so fairies switching in know it's going to be running facade) break past defensive Fairy-types like Clefable and Tapu Fini with Guts-boosted Facades Facade. Faster Psychic-types and Fairy-types (you can say Psychic- and Fairy-types here; what you have isn't wrong so not outright changing but it's cleaner to read) like Mega Latias, Iron Boulder, and Enamorus are not threatened by Mach Punch and can easily force Conkeldurr out, making partners like Ting-Lu, Aegislash, and Scizor good options to deal with these Pokemon. Scizor in particular can use U-turn to lure in Celesteela and Bullet Punch to lure in Celesteela and use U-turn to bring in a teammate that checks it, and it can also revenge kill Iron Boulder and Alakazam with Bullet Punch. (u-turn doesn't lure in steela, scizor lures it in - a move can't lure a pokemon, the pokemon itself does) Scizor also enjoys Conkeldurr pressuring some of its checks like Skarmory and Rotom-W with Close Combat. Defog Rotom-W is a good partner considering Conkeldurr's lack of longevity due to Flame Orb.
