[OVERVIEW]
Crawdaunt has excellent wallbreaking potential due to a stellar base 120 attack stat as well as Adaptability to double the power of its STAB moves. Additionally, access to Swords Dance and high-Base Power moves such as Crabhammer and Knock Off leaves it with little defensive counterplay. Aqua Jet also gives it the ability to pick off frailer revenge killers such as Mienshao and Mega Beedrill. However, due to poor defenses and significantly below average speed, Crawdaunt is hard pressed to find wallbreaking opportunities. Offensive threats such as Mega Manectric, Serperior, and Cobalion can often revenge kill it, and its weaknesses to pivoting moves in Volt Switch and U-turn can give opposing teams momentum. Finally, it faces competition from other wallbreakers such as Azumarill and Infernape, which are easier to fit on teams and provide more utility.

Moves
========

Swords Dance boosts Crawdaunt's Attack to immense levels, allowing it to plow through offensive and defensive teams alike. Crabhammer is Crawdaunt's main STAB move, significantly damaging any neutral switch-ins as well as frailer Water-resistant foes such as Primarina. It gives Crawdaunt access to an extremely powerful Z-Move in Hydro Vortex when it's used with Waterium Z, enabling it to break through Pokemon such as Umbreon and Mega Aggron. Knock Off is Crawdaunt's best Dark-type STAB attack, denting Pokemon that resist Crabhammer such as Latias and Rotom-C while also having the utility of removing opposing items. Aqua Jet allows Crawdaunt to revenge kill faster threats such as Terrakion and Mega Beedrill while also being able to sweep late-game.

Set Details
========

252 Speed and Attack EVs allow Crawdaunt to outspeed threats such as defensive Togekiss and Sylveon and Speed tie with offensive Scizor while maximizing power. Adamant Crawdaunt is usable, but the Speed gained from a Jolly nature is preferred. Adaptability is Crawdaunt's preferred ability, giving it it the ability to hit as hard as possible. Waterium Z gives a one-time strong Water-type STAB attack, capable of blowing past walls such as Quagsire and Mandibuzz for teammates. Life Orb gives it extra damage output at the cost of HP. Furthermore, Lum Berry can be used to avoid a potentially crippling status condition while attempting to sweep, but Waterium Z and Life Orb are the preferred items, as they allow Crawdaunt to break more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its frailty, Crawdaunt shouldn’t be switching directly into attacks. Crawdaunt usedis best used on pivots into walls such as Blissey or resisted hits such as Scizor’s Choice-locked Bullet Punch. This gives it more opportunities to heavily damage or outright KO defensive threats such as Swampert and Hippowdon. Aqua Jet should be used to force out threats such as Mega Beedrill and Mega Aerodactyl after they've been weakened and offensively predict and throw off Crawdaunt’s strong STAB moves

Team Options
========

Pivots such as Scizor, Mega Manectric, and Hydreigon make good partners, as they can lure in setup fodder for Crawdaunt such as Blissey and Hippowdon. Entry hazard support from Spikes setters like Klefki, Stealth Rock setters like Nidoking, or Toxic Spikes Tentacruel can help weaken checks so Crawdaunt can win in the later stages of the match. Choice Scarf Latias helps deal with threats that normally force Crawdaunt out, such as Hydreigon, Infernape, and Cobalion, while also providing Healing Wish support for a late game sweep. Other wallbreakers such as offensive Scizor and Choice Specs Hydreigon appreciate Crawdaunt's ability to wear down their checks. Fighting-type checks such as Sylveon and Mega Altaria make good partners, as they take on super effective attacks that Crawdaunt cannot.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
A Choice Band set with Aqua Jet, Crabhammer, Knock Off, and Superpower is usable, but Crawdaunt is punished for whatever move it locks itself into. Dragon Dance over Swords Dance may look appealing on paper, but it is unviable due to Crawdaunt's low Speed causing it to be easily revenge killed and the lack of power compared to Swords Dance. Superpower may be used on the Swords Dance set over Aqua Jet to hit common switch-ins such as Hydreigon and Cobalion, but the utility is generally less than that of Aqua Jet, which can stop faster Pokemon such as Terrakion and Mega Beedrill from revenge killing Crawdaunt.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon can generally outspeed and KO Crawdaunt and survive due to the move’s low Base Power. Examples include Cobalion, Mega Sceptile, and Hydreigon.

**Priority**: Faster Priority such as Lucario’s Vacuum Wave and Breloom’s Mach Punch can easily pick off Crawdaunt due to its low bulk.

**Residual Damage**: Residual damage from Spikes and Stealth Rock, as well as Toxic and burns from Scald, really hurt Crawdaunt’s longevity and leave it prone to being revenge killed.

Overview
* Specify that Adaptability is an ability, as the wording doesn't currently make this very clear.
* Give some examples of Pokemon Crawdaunt can threaten out with its STAB combo.
* I wouldn't flat-out say that Crawdaunt has 'no defensive counterplay,' considering bulky Mega Altaria checks it quite reliably. Instead say 'limited defensive counterplay.'

Set/Moves
* Deslash Lum Berry from the main set. It's fine to keep it mentioned in Set Details, though it's a lot less consistently useful than Waterium Z or Life Orb due to the loss in breaking power.
* Mention Hydro Vortex in the Crabhammer line. Tell us what it helps Crawdaunt break through (Primarina, chipped Quagsire, and Mega Aggron work as examples).
* Give some examples of Pokemon Crawdaunt can take care of with Aqua Jet. Infernape, Mamoswine, and Mega Beedrill all work as examples.

Set Details
* 'outspeed most walls' - give examples.
* (also in the first line) add 'with a neutral nature' to the end of 'maximizing damage output.' A little nitpicky, but I'm a sucker for clarity :P
* Give some examples of walls that you say Waterium Z allows Crawdaunt to blow past for teammates. Mega Aggron and Mandibuzz both work.
* Reword your Lum Berry sentence to clarify that it's generally a lesser option than Life Orb or Waterium Z.

Usage Tips
* Give some examples of things that can be revenge killed by Aqua Jet in your third line.
* Say in your line on avoiding status conditions that this can make setting up against Pokemon like Alomomola and Suicune rather risky due to Crawdaunt's particular dislike for burns.
* Talk about what Pokemon Crawdaunt can set up against here. Walls and Pokemon it forces out (give examples for both) are your best options for examples.

Team Options
* Give some examples of Stealth Rock setters as well in your entry hazard setters line.
* I wouldn't say that Choice Scarf Latias really lures in things like Hydreigon, Infernape, or Mega Altaria, as all are almost never coming in on it. Instead say that it can offensively pressure these threats while exploiting the passiveness of defensive mons for Crawdaunt with Trick if need be.
* Add in a line on Fairy-type checks for dealing with bulky Mega Altaria sets, which can always tank at least one hit from Crawdaunt.

Other Options
* Choice Band is the best option listed in this section, so move it to the top.
* Elaborate as to why exactly Superpower doesn't have as useful of utility as Aqua Jet (no way of dealing with Infernapes and Mega Beedrills trying to revenge kill you sucks).

Checks and Counters
* Say that Cobalion can't directly switch in.
* Modest Primarina is OHKOed by a +2 Life Orb Crabhammer, so to suggest it lives anything that isn't a z-move is a little misleading. Just say that Timid Primarina can outspeed and OHKO without fearing Aqua Jet too much.
* Change your example of a mon with Extreme Speed from Lucario to Zygarde-10% or Entei, as the latter two are more relevant.
* 'However, the latter and the former must be wary of Knock Off.' - don't quite understand this, since why would Mega Manectric particularly enjoy any of Crawdaunt's STAB attacks. Just say in your last sentence that none of the listed examples can directly switch in instead.
* Give Mega Altaria a special mention in the Dragon-type section. Say that it can outspeed and OHKO Crawdaunt with a Pixiliate-boosted Return or Facade, while also tanking any of its hits if its a bulky variant.

Great work! This may seem long but for the most part it's mostly nitpicks. QC 1/3 after you implement this.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Crawdaunt has excellent wallbreaking ability due to 120 attack, an excellent ability in Adaptability and a good STAB combo which allows it to force out Pokemon such as Jellicent or Mamoswine.
  • This is further bolstered by Swords Dance, which leaves Crawdaunt with little defensive counterplay.
  • Additionally, it has access to high powered moves in Crabhammer and Knock Off, as well as priority Aqua Jet.
  • However, Crawdaunt's low speed and bulk hinder it from getting chances to setup
  • It also struggles with offensive threats who can often revenge kill it such as Mega Manectric, Timid Primarina, and Cobalion.
  • It's typing is also its greatest weakness, as the popularity of Volt Switch and U-Turn give it little room to successfully pull of a sweep versus offensively inclined teams.

Moves
========

  • Swords Dance boosts Crawdaunt's attack to immense levels, allowing it to plow through offensive and defensive teams alike.
  • Crabhammer is Crawdaunt's main STAB move, allowing you to significantly damage any neutral switch-ins as well as frailer resists such as Primarina. It also allows for an extremely powerful Z-move Hydro Vortex when's when it's used with Waterium Z to break through Pokémon such as Umbreon or Mega Aggron.
  • Knock Off is Crawdaunt's best Dark-Type attack, allowing you to dent switch-ins dent pokemon that can switch in on crabhammer such as latias, rotom etc, while also having the utility of removing opposing items.
  • Aqua Jet allows you to revenge kill faster threats such as Infernape Infernape can run super effective priority so mention something like terrakion instead, Mamoswine, and Mega Beedrill and also sweep late game.

Set Details
========

  • 252 Speed and Attack EVs allow Crawdaunt to outspeed walls such as Umbreon, Sylveon, and Mantine, while also maximizing damage output with a neutral nature.
  • A Jolly nature is useful to outspeed common threats such as Modest Primarina and defensive Togekiss, while also Speed tying Adamant Scizor.
  • An Adamant nature can be used for extra power, but Crawdaunt prefers the extra speed.
  • Adaptability is your preferred ability of choice, giving Crawdaunt the ability to hit as hard as possible.
  • Waterium Z gives you a one time strong water type attack to blow past walls such as Quagsire or Mandibuzz for teammates.
  • Life Orb is used to get extra damage output at the cost of HP.
  • Furthermore, Lum Berry is can be used to avoid a potentially crippling status while attempting to sweep.
  • Waterium Z or Life Orb are the preferred items, due to the increased damage output, however.

Usage Tips
========

  • Crawdaunt should be sparingly switching into attacks due to its frailty.
  • Crawdaunt should either come in on a pivot via a teammate, after the fainting of a teammate, or on a resisted attack such as a Krookodile Knock Off.
  • Crawdaunt is best left setting up on walls such as Blissey, or resisted hits such as Choice-locked Scizor or Latias reword this to specify which attacks it can setup on.
  • Aqua Jet can be used to revenge kill threats after they've been weakened such as Mega Beedrill and Mega Aerodactyl.
  • When facing offensive teams, Crawdaunt should be saved until the opposing team is weakened enough to clean up.
  • Lum Berry can be used, Crawdaunt should still try to avoid risking taking on status conditions however, as that could potentially stop a sweep later in the game. This makes setting up on Pokemon such as Alomomola especially risky due to the chance of a status. Lum berry doesnt need a mention in usage tips as its not slashed anywhere

Team Options
========

  • Pivots such as Scizor, Mega Manectric, and Hydreigon make good partners as they can lure in setup fodder for Crawdaunt such as?.
  • Entry hazard support from spike setters such Klefki can help weaken checks so Crawdaunt can win in the later stages of the match.
  • Choice Scarf Latias makes a good teammate, as with its coverage such as Ice Beam and its STABs, it can lure in Crawdaunt checks such as +1 Speed Mega Altaria, Scarf Hydreigon, and Infernape this sentence is confusing, how is latias luring in infernape? how is an unboosted unstabbed ice beam stopping a +1 altaria? reword this to focus on latias's (not specifically choice scarf) ability to revenge kill threats like hydreigon, infernape and cobalion that crawdaunt struggles with, while providing healing wish support to give it a second attempt at sweeping/wallbreaking
  • Wallbreakers such as Offensive Scizor and Specs Hydreigon appreciate Crawdaunt's ability to wear down their checks.
  • Fighting-type checks such as Sylveon or Mega Altaria make good partners as they take on attacks that Crawdaunt cannot.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Cobalion**: Cobalion can outspeed, KO with a supereffective Close Combat, while also living anything Crawdaunt can throw at it due to its immense physical bulk. Cobalion also deters Crawdaunt from using Knock Off due to its ability Justified. Cobalion cannot directly switchin, however. If it cannot switch in directly then it also cannot ''live anything crawdaunt can throw at it''

**Primarina**: Primarina can outspeed and KO if Timid, and does not fear Aqua Jet. Lump primarina along with mega blastoise and volcanion on ''Offensive water types'' as theyre all equally effective at switching in on most of crawdaunt's attacks and force it out

**Priority**: Faster Priority from those such as Extreme Speed Entei, Choice Band Infernape Mach Punch, or even Choice Band Scizor Bullet Punch can KO from full or after some chip damage from entry hazards or Life Orb recoil. cb bullet punch from scizor doesnt do anywhere near enough damage to be considered an effective check

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Mega Manectric, Rotom-Wash, or Rotom-C can always outspeed, live a plus two Aqua Jet, and KO. None of these can directly switch-in, however defensive rotom is actually capable of switching in and living knock off+aqua jet even from life orb sets .

**Dragon-types** Dragon-types such as Mega Sceptile, Hydreigon, and Latias can shrug off any hit Crawdaunt can throw at it, and KO. Latias must watch out for Knock Off however. Mega Altaria does especially well, as it can always switch-in to any move Crawdaunt throws at it, and KO with Return or Facade. None of these bar altaria can ''shrug off'' crawdaunt's attacks

Is this up to date? If so, change the thread title. Otherwise, finish it up ASAP

Remove the timid primarina mention in the overview and replace it with Serperior.

when you say "rotom" specify cut, since wash isn't in the tier anymore

In team options, Klefki shouldn't be the only mentioned hazard setter, add some rocks setters and maybe tentacruel with toxic spikes.

Mention in Grass-types in checks and counters that they resist aqua jet. Same with water-types

Sorry this is a bit of an interlude but I genuinely feel like there's still a bit to get through before this gets to GP (even after Nuked's changes), I'll most likely be editting this post with further necessary changes. It's a bit late here so I'm just putting this placeholder for now.

Edit: nvm, OP whenever this is updated with Nuked's check just tag me so I can write down my own, it's a lot easier.

Overview

However, due to poor defenses and significantly below average speed, Crawdaunt is hard-pressed to find setup opportunities.
  • Just say like "wallbreaking opportunities" instead here imo. Since Crawdaunt is a wallbreaker first, sweeper second.
  • Put a sentence in about how it faces competition from other wallbreakers for slots that are usually easier to fit on teams due to having better utility, mainly Azumarill.
Usage Tips
  • Really barren section. Talk more about Crawdaunt being used to punch holes when pivoted into Pokemon it can outspeed and outright OHKO or heavily damage like Blissey or Swampert or Hippo. You mention this with regards to setting up but I'd put more emphasis on breaking instead.
  • Remove the line about late game sweeping, Crawdaunt isnt a mon like that vs offense.
  • Change the Aqua Jet line, expand on it and say how you can use it to threaten Pokemon like Aero out and predict offensively to KO potential switch-ins and such.
Checks and Counters
  • Aight this is the section that needs a complete restructure.
  • Three sections: Faster Pokemon, Priority, Passive Damage
  • The first can encompass everything from Cobalion to Mega Sceptile. Just say that Faster Pokemon can easily KO Crawdaunt because of its frailty, and tend to live an Aqua Jet because the move's just weak. Examples include etc etc. You should word it better but should get the gist of it.
  • Second is already done, should be worded better imo though.
  • Third is straightforward, it includes stuff like hazards, but mainly status. Burn and Toxic mainly since those are the main ways defensive teams deal with this. Mention common users of Toxic and for Burn I'd mention just bulky Waters can Scald to fish for it or whatnot.
After this is implemented should be ok for GP.

GP 2/2
[OVERVIEW]
Crawdaunt has excellent wallbreaking potential due to a stellar base 120 attack stat (RC) as well as Adaptability doubling to double the power of its STAB moves. Additionally, access to Swords Dance and high-Base (AH) Power moves such as Crabhammer and Knock Off leave leaves it with little defensive counterplay. Aqua Jet also gives it the ability to pick off frailer revenge killers such as Mienshao and Mega Beedrill. However, due to poor defenses and significantly below average speed, Crawdaunt is hard pressed (RH) to find wallbreaking opportunities.

Moves
========

It gives Crawdaunt access to an extremely powerful Z-Move in Hydro Vortex when's when it's used with Waterium Z, enabling it to break through Pokémon Pokemon such as Umbreon and Mega Aggron. Knock Off is Crawdaunt's best Dark-type STAB attack, denting Pokemon that resist Crabhammer such as Latias and Rotom-Cut while also having the utility of removing opposing items. Aqua Jet allows Crawdaunt to revenge kill faster threats such as Terrakion and Mega Beedrill while also being able to sweep late-game.

Set Details
========

Furthermore, Lum Berry can be used to avoid a potentially crippling status condition while attempting to sweep, but Waterium Z or and Life Orb are the preferred items, as they allow Crawdaunt to break more effectively.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its frailty, Crawdaunt shouldn’t be switching directly into attacks. Crawdaunt usedis best used on pivots into walls such as Blissey or resisted hits such as Scizor's Choice-locked into Bullet Punch. This gives it more opportunities to heavily damage or outright KO defensive threats such as Swampert and Hippowdon. Aqua Jet should be used to force out threats such as Mega Beedrill and Mega Aerodactyl after they've been weakened and offensively predict and throw off Crawdaunt’s strong STAB moves (what does this mean?)

Team Options
========

Pivots such as Scizor, Mega Manectric, and Hydreigon make good partners, as they can lure in setup fodder for Crawdaunt such as Blissey and Hippowdon. Entry hazard support from Spikes setters like Klefki, (AC) or Stealth Rock setters like Nidoking, as well as or Toxic Spikes Tentacruel (RC) can help weaken checks so Crawdaunt can win in the later stages of the match. Choice Scarf Latias helps deal with things threats that normally force Crawdaunt out, such as Hydreigon, Infernape, and Cobalion, (AC) while also providing Healing Wish support for a late game sweep. Other wallbreakers such as offensive Scizor and Choice Specs Hydreigon appreciate Crawdaunt's ability to wear down their checks. Fighting-type checks such as Sylveon and Mega Altaria make good partners, as they take on super effective (RH) attacks that Crawdaunt cannot.

Other Options
=============
A Choice Band set with Aqua Jet, Crabhammer, Knock Off, and Superpower is usable, but Crawdaunt is punished for whatever move it locks itself into and is generally weak. (i don't really understand this, daunt's crabhammer is literally stronger than terrak's CC) Dragon Dance over Swords Dance may look appealing on paper, but it is unviable due to Crawdaunt's low Speed making it causing it to be easily revenge killed and the lack of power compared to Swords Dance.

===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon can generally outspeed and KO Crawdaunt and survive due to the move’s low Base Power. Examples include Cobalion, Mega Sceptile, and Hydreigon.

**Priority**: Faster Priority such as Lucario’s Vaccum Vacuum Wave and Breloom’s Mach Punch can easily pick off Crawdaunt due to its low bulk.

**Residual Damage**: Residual damage from Spikes and Stealth Rock, as well as Toxic and burns from Scald, really hurt Crawdaunt’s longevity and leave it prone to being revenge killed.
