Defensive Landorus-Therian [QC: 0/2]

[SET]
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water / Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Toxic / Hidden Power Ice
- Stealth Rock / Defog

[SET COMMENT]
Landorus-Therian is an amazing pivot with U-Turn and support pokemon with Defog and Toxic because of its ability to switchin to a lot of common moves like Close Combat from the likes of Banded Zamazenta and Mega Lopunny. It is also able to check Gouging Fire. Additionally, it is able to block Volt Switch from Tapu Koko and Iron Crown which are usually very threatening. With Rocky Helmet, it punishes a lot of moves which are usually very free to spam like U-Turn from Mega Lopunny, Mega Scizor and Landorus-T himself. With a high base attack, Landorus-T gets to 2OHKO the majority of the offensive side of National Dex OU so its not a setup-bait. Toxic is a great option for Landorus-T, especially in tandem with Earthquake, putting bulky walls like Zapdos and opposing Landorus-T on a timer, as well as setup sweepers such as Dragonite and Garchomp.
The one bane of Landorus-T is Gliscor, which can neither be Toxic'd nor hit with Earthquake, Hidden Power Ice is an option but it never really breaks Gliscor. Ogerpon-Wellspring and Rotom-Wash are good checks for Gliscor and are very good overall teammates for Landorus-T especially with Rotom-W making a very good VoltTurn combo.

Landorus-Therian is an amazing pivot with U-Turn and support pokemon with Defog, Toxic, Knock Off and Taunt u didnt list koff or taunt in the moves, so they shouldnt be listed here in the pool of its utility options because of its Ground/Flying typing enabling it ability to switchin to a lot of common moves like Close Combat from the likes of Banded Zamazenta, Iron Valiant and Mega Lopunny. (AP); Headlong Rush from Sun Boosted Great Tusk (be aware of Icium Z Ice Spinner variants, which do OHKO Landorus even at -1) and Guts Ursaluna; you dont rly ever wanna bring lando in on tusk or luna if at all possible, need better examples here, perhaps checking gouging? Additionally, it blocks Volt Switch from Tapu Koko, Iron Crown, Raging Bolt volt rbolt isnt very real, cut this which are usually very threatening. With Rocky Helmet, it punishes a lot of moves which are usually very free to spam like U-Turn from Mega Lopunny, Mega Scizor and Landorus-T himself. With a base attack of 145, Landorus-T gets to 326 Attack even with no investment which lets it 2OHKO the majority of the offensive side of National Dex OU so its not a setup-bait. avoid using raw numbers like this in analyses Toxic is a great move to put Landorus's checks and bulky walls like Tangrowth, Moltres, and Zapdos on a timer. Toxic is a great option for Landorus-T, especially in tandem with Earthquake, putting bulky walls like Zapdos and opposing Landorus-T on a timer, as well as setup sweepers such as Dragonite and Garchomp. The one bane of Landorus-T is Gliscor, which can neither be Toxic'd nor hit with Earthquake but Hidden Power Ice does about 63-76% to a Defensive Set and 44-53% to a Specially Defensive Set. This set works well with setup sweepers which appreciate the -1 Attack on the opposing mon, usually letting them setup. make this section abt some pokemon it struggles with, Glisc is a good one but hp ice never breaks it and is kinda just a bad option. Add teammates to help with glisc, like ogerpon-w. It can also be noted how it is typically best on offensive teams that appreciate its short term defensive presence, pivoting, and utility.

[SET COMMENT]
Even though Landorus-T is usually used for its Defensive capabilities in NDOU, it also has an effective Scarf set which fixes its mediocre 309 speed so that it can use its 389 Attack and get off fast Defogs. EdgeQuake is a really good combo resisted by a very small fraction of pokemon, like Toedscruel and Breloom which are niche anyway. This set makes a nasty VoltTurn combo with Rotom Wash as Rotom takes the moves that lando is weak to and hits the flying types which are immune to Landorus' powerful STAB earthquakes with volt switch or hydro pump if Gliscor or Lando-T, this does leave the pair weak to Choice Band Rillaboom. Pairing them with Moltres or Mega Charizard Y can fix the Rillaboom problem. The one bane of this set is once again, GLISCOR. Defensive Gliscor takes a measly 20-25% from Stone Edge but Explosion lets you chip Gliscor, which does about 50-60%, which lets your other offensive mons abuse the chip and threaten it with a KO. Due to the usual surprise factor of this set, it lets u catch your opponent off-guard with crucial KOs on mons like Mega Charizard Y and a chipped Mega Lopunny (Earthquake does 68%-81%). Choice Scarf Landorus, even though it sounds pretty powerful on paper, struggles with bulky waters and bulky grasses so if you want Landorus to show its fullest potential, teammates which deal with these are a must.

I'm gonna request you rewrite this with the new set for the following reasons:

- This misses quite a few of the things that makes LandoT a solid scarfer, having solid defensive utility defog for teams that need the pivoting and speed control in one slot.

- You failed to mention what its tera types do

- Pokemon it struggles with (Gliscor, for example) and Pokemon that help with that (Rotom-W) should go towards the end

- the mention of bulky waters and grasses at the end it struggles with are vague and you dont expand on what teammates could help deal w/ them
Please lmk when you have implemented the first one and rewritten the second; you have some great ideas that could be nice points, they just need a little bit more nuance and specificity in certain places.
