Delphox (Revamp)

[OVERVIEW]

* Thanks to Delphox's typing and stats it's capable of doing a multitude of things, it can act as a Choice Scarf revenge killer, Calm Mind sweeper, and it can even support its team thanks to its access to Wish. Thanks to its sheer versatility Delphox is a highly splashable and unique Pokemon in the NU metagame.
* Delphox's offensive typing allows it to threaten a large portion of the Pokemon in NU. Its typing also makes it one of the best offensive switch-ins to highly threatening Pokemon like Whimsicott, Vanilluxe, and Sceptile.
* Besides Delphox's typing and stats it also has the tools to be an effective Pokemon as it can deal with Dark-types thanks to Dazzling Gleam and with Water-types thanks to Grass Knot, which are a great roadblock to its success.
* Delphox also has access to a number of moves that allow it to support itself and its team, it has access to Calm Mind, which allows it to sweep teams once they're weakened up enough; and it has access to Trick, which allows it to cripple many Pokemon that may want to take advantage of it.
* Unfortunately, Delphox is susceptible to entry hazards and can get pressured by them relatively easy.
* While Delphox's typing is potent offensively it does leave it weak to Pursuit which means that it's prone to getting Pursuit trapped by Pokemon like Sneasel and Houndoom.

Moves
========

* Fire Blast is Delphox's main and most spammable STAB move that heavily damages anything that does not resist it.
* Psychic should be used to a lesser extent and only when Dark-type Pokemon are removed, it may also be used if Pokemon like Vaporeon and Emboar are expected to switch in on Fire Blast.
* Dazzling Gleam allows Delphox to defeat Dark-type Pokemon like Houndoom, Incineroar, and Guzzlord without having to rely on other teammates. It also does considerable damage to Dragon-types like Druddigon and Drampa.
* Grass Knot can also be used to hit Ground- and Water-types like Rhydon, Slowbro, and Vaporeon for super effective damage
* Trick gives Delphox the option to cripple defensive Pokemon if the opportunity presents itself.
* Psyshock may be used to hit Virizion and Assault Vest Magmortar on their weaker defenses.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment in tandem with a Timid nature make Delphox as strong and fast as possible.
* A Choice Scarf allows Delphox to outspeed notable threats like Choice Scarf Vanilluxe, +1 Speed Vivillion, and anything slower.
* Blaze boosts up Delphox's Fire-type moves when it's in a pinch.

Usage Tips
========

* Delphox serves as a revenge killer and late-game cleaner for its team, it can do this effectively thanks to its great Speed tier when coupled with a Choice Scarf, access to high base powered moves, and good coverage moves.
* Try to keep Delphox as healthy as possible early- to mid-game because it may be capable of cleaning up late-game if it hasn't taken too much damage.
* Delphox should aim to spam Fire Blast as it is its most powerful attack that hits most of the metagame hard. Delphox should only use its coverage moves if it's actually beneficial, such as catching Slowbro on its switch in with Grass Knot, for example.
* If the opponent has a solid check to Delphox like Houndoom or Incineroar it's generally wiser to switch out on their switch in with Delphox, this allows it to gain momentum for its team and potentially provide set up opportunities for its teammate.
* Trick should be used very carefully, it's especially useful against bulky foes, such as Type: Null and Colbur Berry Slowbro.

Team Options
========

* This Delphox set fits best on balance and bulky offense builds for its ability to revenge kill a large majority of the tier and sweep late-game.
* Delphox benefits from Defoggers like Whimsicott and Silvally-Water because of their outstanding type synergy and it benefits from Stealth Rock and Spikes being removed as Delphox doesn't like getting chipped down. Skuntank can also be run as it can Defog away hazards and remove Toxic Spikes upon switch in.
* Grass-types such as Virizion, Whimsicott, and Sceptile are great teammates because they can deal with Water- and Rock-types that Delphox struggles against. Delphox can weaken opposing Grass-types like Venusaur and Whimsicott in return.
* Delphox likes the support from Fairy- and Fighting-types such as Mega Audino, Whimsicott, Virizion, and Hariyama because they can take advantage of Pursuit trappers like Sneasel and Houndoom.
* Pokemon like Whimsicott, Virizion, and Toxicroak can break walls, which Delphox heavily appreciates as it eases up its job to clean late-game.
* Stealth Rock setters like Steelix, Rhydon, and Piloswine are good teammates because, with Stealth Rock up on the opposing field Delphox can gain a handful of OHKOs or 2HKOs.

[SET]
name: Calm Mind
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Fire Blast

move 4: Grass Knot

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Calm Mind lets Delphox boost its Special Attack and Special Defense by one stage. This is what makes Delphox so potent at sweeping.
* Fire Blast is Delphox's main STAB move and allows it to bypass a large majority of the Pokemon in the tier.
* Dazzling Gleam lets Delphox deal with the many Dark-types that can stand in its way, like Houndoom, Guzzlord, and Incineroar.
* Grass Knot hits Water-types for super effective damage like Vaporeon and Silvally-Water, which aren't bothered by Fire Blast or Dazzling Gleam.

Set Details
========

* Maximum Special Attack in tandem with maximum Speed investment and a Timid nature make Delphox as powerful and fast as possible.
* Firium Z gives Delphox a very powerful STAB attack in Inferno Overdrive, which is capable of doing major damage to every Pokemon in the tier when boosted by Calm Mind.
* Fairium Z may be used instead of Firium Z to deal with Incineroar and other Dark-types if it's boosted by Calm Mind, it also gives a generally useful nuke that hits most Pokemon hard that resist Fire Blast.
* Colbur Berry can be used if Delphox's team already has a Z-Move user and is useful for Delphox to safely switch out of a Pursuit trapper.
* Blaze boosts Delphox's Fire-type moves when it's in a pinch, this may be useful for Inferno Overdrive.

Usage Tips
========

* Don't predict too much because Delphox's Fire Blast hits anything that does not resist it hard, if a Water-type is predicted to switch in, it should use Grass Knot, this is the same for Dark-types and using Dazzling Gleam to hit them for a great amount of damage on their switch in.
* It should be considered when to set up with Delphox because, if it does set up too early, chances are, that it will fail to sweep.
* If Delphox isn't holding a Colbur Berry it can get Pursuit trapped relatively easy, so consider doubling out of the incoming Pursuit trapper into a Fairy- or Fighting-type.
* Delphox may be used to pivot into Special Attackers as it has a good defensive typing and good Special Defense.

Team Options
========

* Delphox fits well on bulky offense and offense teams that are in need of a solid wincon.
* Pokemon that can provide hazard support like Steelix, Druddigon, Piloswine, and Rhydon are vital to this set because this means foes get chipped down consistently, which aids Delphox with sweeping.
* Whimsicott is an excellent Defoggers with Delphox as it can keep up the offensive pressure while removing entry hazards, preventing Delphox from getting worn down much. Similarly, Hitmonlee can also keep up the offensive pressure and spin away hazards.
* Fighting-types like Toxicroak, Virizion, and Hitmonlee benefit from Delphox's ability to beat Poison-types. In return they can weaken Rock-types which Delphox struggles against.
* Fast Pokemon that can break walls, such as Heliolisk, Vanilluxe, and Guzzlord are good partners because they can soften up the opposing team for Delphox to sweep easier.
* Fairy-types like Whimsicott and Mega Audino, as well as the aforementioned Fighting-types, can take advantage of Pursuit trappers if Delphox double-switches out into them.

[SET]
name: WishTect
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Flamethrower
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Blaze
nature: Timid
evs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Wish in conjunction with Protect can consistently heal up Delphox. Wish may also be useful for healing up teammates like Silvally-Water and Venusaur.
* Flamethrower allows Delphox to deal with Pokemon like Klinklang, Virizion, and Toxicroak, which this set does exceptionally well against.
* Lastly, Toxic provides useful utility to cripple Pokemon like Guzzlord, Rhydon, and Piloswine, which may switch in.

Set Details
========

* 248 HP EVs in tandem with 124 Defense EVs make Delphox as physically bulky as possible to take on Pokemon like Klinklang and Virizion.
* 136 Speed EVs and a Timid nature allow Delphox to outspeed unboosted Vivillon.
* Leftovers gives Delphox passive recovery, which in tandem with Protect may be useful.
* Rocky Helmet can be used to chip down Klinklang, though, the fact that it has to give up passive recovery is sort of bad for it.
