This Smeargle anti-lead hasn't really seen any use in the current metagame, but I have been testing it on the OU ladder on Shoddy Battle and it seems to work exceedingly well.

[SET COMMENTS]

Venturing outside conventional Smeargle lead sets, this set has both its ups and downs with the abundant amount of faster leads out there. One of the pros of this set is the ability to avoid your Sash getting broken by the ever abundant Fake Out. Most or all leads that use Fake Out can be thwarted by this set. Unlike the other two Smeargle lead sets, this set has Protect. Against Fake Out leads such as Infernape, Weavile, or Ambipom, simply throw up a Protect to avoid the Fake Out damage then respond accordingly (depending on whether they also have Taunt or not). Protect also acts as a scouting move to see what an opponent's set is, should you have the chance to send in Smeargle again. Another possible option for this set is to reflect support moves back at their users. Roserade leads won't like having their Sleeping Powder bounced back in their face, while Phazing moves like Yawn and status moves like Toxic can be reflected with proper prediction. Against most leads, the best choice is to Spore, take the hit that's coming, then while they switch out to an appropriate counter, set up Stealth Rock. You'll have to tailor which combination of moves you use depending on the lead you're against. As mentioned above, this set has its cons. Without Spikes, you can't set up as much entry hazards as you normally would, and without Choice Scarf, you lack the ability to severely cripple an enemy, aside from Spore.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The most common switch-ins after you sleep the opposing lead is a set-up sweeper (the most common being DDmence). It's normally a good idea to pair this Smeargle set with a bulky hazer that can take a hit from a boosted attack.

The given EV's are identical to the Spiker Lead set, and ensures Smeargle to survive at least a few physical hits (including a very slim chance to survive a Stone Edge from LeadTar). Magic Coat is probably the best choice for the final slot, being able to counter Roserade leads and effectively stop Toxic Spikes from being set up at the beginning of the game, but if you aren't afraid of sleep (if you have a Rest Talker for example), you can run either Destiny Bond or Lunar Dance. D-Bond can almost guarantee that you take something down with you when you go down, while Lunar Dance can completely regenerate a weakened sweeper, such as Life Orb Gyarados.

will add more tomorrow.
