[OVERVIEW]

Despite being the second fastest Pokemon the tier has to offer, Electrode isn't viable in PU. Its incredibly limited movepool and subpar offensive stats allow its only role to be a supporting one, and even in that role it's outclassed by other Pokemon. Meowstic-M makes for a better dual screens lead, and even then, dual screens suicide leads aren't of much use in PU. Almost every Electric-type, like Togedemaru, Eelektross, and Lanturn, would be a better pick than Electrode, and even Meowstic-M outclasses Electrode. Mesprit is another Pokemon that does a better job at setting dual screens, but like Meowstic, it's vulnerable to Defog, while Electrode can at least use Taunt to prevent this.

[SET]
name: Dual Screens
move 1: Light Screen
move 2: Reflect
move 3: Magic Coat / Taunt
move 4: Volt Switch / Explosion
item: Light Clay
ability: Aftermath
nature: Timid / Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Due to its astronomically high Speed, Electrode is almost always guaranteed to get a Light Screen or Reflect off, and is able to use Explosion to get a teammate in that can take advantage of the dual screens for free. However, Meowstic's Prankster allows it to do the same, and Meowstic offers better utility in general, making it far more worthwhile to run as a dual screens setter.

Despite being the second fastest Pokemon the tier has to offer, Electrode isn't viable in PU. Its incredibly limited movepool and sub-par offensive stats allow it's only role to be a supporting one, and even in that role it's outclassed by other Pokemon. Liepard and Mesprit make for far better weather setters (why? Liepard has priority set up via Prankster and Mesprit has more bulk, has a slow U turn and survives longer into the game and can set up weather), and double screens suicide leads aren't of much use in PU. Almost every Electric-type would be a better pick than Electrode, really (examples? Mention Togedemaru, Eelektross and Lanturn).

[SET]
name: Weather Setter
move 1: Rain Dance / Sunny Day
move 2: Taunt
move 3: Magic Coat
move 4: Explosion
item: Damp Rock / Heat Rock
ability: Aftermath
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe

Due to it's astronomically high Speed, Electrode is almost always guaranteed to get a Rain Dance off, and is able to Explode to get a teammate in that can take advantage of the weather for free. However, Liepard's Prankster allows it to do the same, and Liepard offers far better utility in general (with Encore and Knock Off), while Mesprit is an even better weather setter due to its great bulk and good support options (like setting up Stealth Rock).

Its incredibly limited movepool and sub-par offensive stats allow it's only role to be a supporting one, and even in that role it's outclassed by other Pokemon. Liepard and Mesprit make for far better weather setters(remove this point, look below), and double screens suicide leads aren't of much use in PU. (I mean they can be used successfully, and it's actually electrode's best set)Almost every Electric-type, like Togedemaru, Eelektross or Lanturn, would be a better pick than Electrode, really.(gets competition from meowstic-m too)

[SET]

move 3: Magic Coat(slash with taunt)
move 4: Explosion(slash with vswitch first)

However, Liepard's Prankster allows it to do the same, and Liepard offers far better utility in general, while Mesprit is an even better weather setter due to its great bulk and good support options.(remove, talk about meowstic-m)

Almost every Electric-type, like Togedemaru, Eelektross or Lanturn, would be a better pick than Electrode, and even Meowstic almost objectively outclasses Electrode "almost objectively" isnt a real thing and electrode does have several unique features over meowstic. I do think it's worth briefly mentioning how Mesprit is an overall better setter, but it would also be fair to mention that electrode can taunt skuntank while the other 2 are complete defog fodder.
