The best check for forteress is mixed infernape imo. Fireblast the first turn, then when he is at one hp, use mach punch for priority over custap berry.

Zone Switch in on spikes. Hidden Power Fire while they...what? Rapid Spin or lay more spikes. Then kill them on the next turn. You can even just do it straight with thunderbolt if your worried about Custap Berry.

Balloon zone needs more play. It destroys burungeru and Nattorei (They need to get lucky with leech seed and protect to kill you) singlehandedly, and can even take Doryuuzu if it's balloon is up and it doesn't get flinched by rock slide.

Yet it can't take any prior attacking damage. Also, even if you run Volt Change, Zone will beat you. Try to understand the arguments being put forth before talking out of your ass

He's still just as bulky as he was last generation, but with so many new fire pokemon entering OU, and the fact that explosion got nerfed it will be even harder to use him.

Really? IMO Forretress can be used very similarly to Nattorei, albeit without the water and electric resists, and lay both kinds of spikes as well as spin away the opponent's hazards. By the way, Explosion on Forry was never really a necessity. I always preferred EQ
