SM OU I like Psychic wap bap (Peaked #1)

Zuchtrest

Banned deucer.
Hi Smogon, I'm Zuchtrest and today I'm presenting you a team which I built with my buddy Liones together.
The concept of the team is pretty simple, Spikestack + Lopunny was always a decent strategy since ORAS. Combine that with some broken mons such as Toxapex and Tapu Lele which you can fit on almost every team and there you go. Scarf Lando is a needed speed control more than a blessing.

The Team:

Lopunny-Mega (F) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch

Mega Lopunny is in my opinion a pretty underrated threat and easily one of the best megas (ik doesn't mean much in this meta but I think there are still only a few who can compete with it.)
I feel like it should be used more because its pretty hard for offense to deal with it. It pairs especially nice with Tyranitar (again nothing new and this core is probably worse in sm but stuff like Reuniclus is rising once again) because it traps various Psychic types i.e. scarf/mega Lati, choice locked Lele and Reuniclus.
Pretty standard set, ice punch hits Landorus-T, everything else is obvious. This mon works especially well with tons of hazards.

Maggi Boy (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 48 HP / 252 Atk / 208 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Fire Punch
- Pursuit

Tyranitar provides pursuit support, pairs with hazard stack as well because most offensive teams rely on scarf lati as hazard control which gets obliterated by TTar. Other than that it pressures some of Lopunny's checks such as Clefable and fat psychic types, gives me some extra insuance against some birds, some Volcarona sets as well as stall. Ferrothorn is scum to face so fire punch is pretty nice to OHKO it. Liones also told me it's a Scizor counter. The spread allows me to outspeed Rotom and uninvested Fini. Not exactly the most common benchmarks but I can't really think of another.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Power Whip

Liones has never built a team without ferro nor spikes so if we wanted to continue building a team together we either could have stopped there or used ferro. Ferro is the hazard setter of the team, allowing lopunny to punch holes in the opponent's team much easier, a much needed electric switch in and rain answer. Ferro itself is a pretty consistent hazard setter because it always has a way to annoy pretty much every hazard removal be it with leech seed or spamming hazards till it dies. Pretty old yet effective spread on ferro.

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spe
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stone Edge
The team needed a ground immunity, electric immunity, Pinsir check and speed control. Scarf Lando isn't exactly the best Pinsir check but most of the time its possible to outplay it and pressure via hazards which is often enough with scarf Lando as revengekiller. Knewing that we couldn't use defensive Lando we had to put rocks on Ferrothorn. HP ice at least punishes other landos especially dual dance/sd ones.

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic Spikes
- Recover
- Haze
Toxapex in combination with ferro acts as rain check and is the best tspike setter in the entire metagame. It had toxic because of Mew first but every time I use it it does nothing and I wish I had tspikes so I changed it to toxic spikes, especially knowing the fact that mew doesnt really beat toxapex. I couldn't really afford to change Haze to toxic because i faced CM clef quite often and you also lose to stuff like SD Knock Scizor or sub Volcarona.
It's also really nice to scout Greninja's move with it thanks to regen because it doesn't really mind anything but Dark Pulse which is pretty easy to punish with TTar.

Tapu Lele @ Psychium Z
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 44 HP / 252 SpA / 212 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
This mon is just retarded and broken. I can't even describe it. Its disgusting how this mon breaks through resists or even the bulkiest stuff just with its stab. I'll just let some calcs speak for themselve. Tbh I hate psyshock because you'll often appreciate the power Psychic provides and +1 Psychic + Z move kills stuff like chansey anyways. The spread lets it live +1 Volcarona w/o rocks up. Yeah I really don't know what kind of a benchmark that is but I somehow end up using it always. I also never build a team without Lele or delete it 5 minutes after btw.

+1 252+ SpA Tapu Lele Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Magearna in Psychic Terrain: 313-369 (85.9 - 101.3%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
+1 252+ SpA Tapu Lele Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Eviolite Chansey in Psychic Terrain: 448-528 (63.7 - 75.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252+ SpA Tapu Lele Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 124 SpD Celesteela in Psychic Terrain: 309-364 (77.6 - 91.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Tapu Lele Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 40 HP / 0 SpD Mawile-Mega in Psychic Terrain: 246-290 (98 - 115.5%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

Threatlist

hard to revenge kill and force out

no real switchins, scarf lando sorta keeps it in check, Lele can force it out, if healthy enough
opposing spikes are annoying, just get them up on ur own

shoutouts:
Liones Toxapex is an unmon, gets trapped by Heatran
AdvanceShip Talonflame is worse than in gen6, get over it.
Mazar its always fun laddering with you, same autistic scream as me btw
Freestylerking you're probably the person I met under the worst circumstances but I understand the most with

Nice rmt yo, I recognize ur name from watching OLT, I mainly remember your fire game 1 vs meeps. Looks like a fun and efficient team and your teambuilding seems solid and straightforward as well. Its great to see a team thats solid overall, and not trying to mindlessly use gimmicks to matchup fish. The only thing I might change is psyshock on lele bc thats what i usually run on cm, but overall it looks fantastic.
