Not open for further replies.
[OVERVIEW]

  • Kommo-o has great natural bulk with 75/125/105, which allows for easier set up, and more difficult to Revenge Kill
  • Its defensive typing gives useful resistances in Bug/Dark/Electric/Fire/Grass/Rock/Fire
  • Kommo-o also has 3 useful abilities in Soundproof, Bullet Proof, and Overcoat which all have their uses
  • Great movepool which allows for mixed capabilities
  • Average offensive stats, which are both outclassed by better offensive Dragons
  • Unfortunately, its average speed tier leaves it outsped by better wall breakers in the tier
  • Defensively weak to common Pokemon in the tier

[SET]
name: Sub Belly Drum
move 1: Drain Punch
move 2: Substitute
move 3: Belly Drum
move 4: Shadow Claw / Poison Jab / Fire Punch
item: Salac Berry
ability: Soundproof
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Att / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves

========

  • Substitute to avoid status, and put your health at 75%, so when you BD you will be at 25% to activate Salac Berry
  • Belly Drum to maximize Att, and paired with Substitute will be able to set up safely, and " "
  • Drain Punch is used to recover all the damage dealt when setting up, and also helps to be able to set up again if taken previous damage
  • Shadow Claw helps the most with coverage being able to nail everything Drain Punch can't, and hits more mons for neutral, that the other 2 moves can't, Gliscor most importantly
  • Alternatively Fire Punch can be used to hit Doublade, Amoonguss, and Celebi for super effective damage and KO, whereas Drain fails to pick up the KO
  • Poison Jab is really helpful for nailing the fairy types in the tier such as Azumarril, Mega Altaria, Primarina, and Togekiss

Set Details
========

  • The evs are the to maximize the Att and Speed of this mon, as it wants to outspeed all it can, and hit as hard as possible
  • The only really important ev is the 4 hp, where it gives Kommo-o even hp so after a sub + BD it will activate the Salac Berry at 25%

Usage Tips
========

  • Kommo-o is one of the better win cons in the tier with this set.
  • Do not attempt to use it before in the battle too much, as Kommo-o wants to be above 75% for when it's ready to set up and sweep.
  • Preserve it until all faster scarfer mons are gone, like Latias and Hydreigon.
  • Be careful around Crobat, as it can go right through the sub and pick up the KO.
  • Try to set up on more passive mons like Alomomola, Rotom, Empoleon, and even Sylveon.

Team Options
========

  • Aurora Veil works great with Kommo-o, as it furthers its alread above average bulk
  • Pursuit Trappers like Alolan Muk greatly help eliminate Latias, while also being able to take on scarf variants of Hydreigon
  • Kommo-o loves having free switchins, so some Volt/turn is always nice
  • Kommo-o also appreciates a way to get around Quagsire, so either T spike support, or a way to get rid of Quag like strong special attackers are nice

[SET]
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Outrage
move 4: Poison Jab / Iron Tail / Earthquake
item: Dragonium Z
ability: Soundproof / Overcoat
nature:
evs: 252 Att / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Dragon Dance is the name of the set, and turns Kommo-o into a scary Sweeper
  • Close Combat is its most powerful STAB fighting move, and is easily spammable due to its 100 accuracy
  • Outrage provides a 1 time nuke with the Z move, capable of OHKO'ing mons like Amoonguss, and Mega Stoise, Rotom-W (most of the time).
  • Poison Jab helps deal with the fairy types in the tier, Togekiss, Azumarril, Sylveon, while also hitting Celebi
  • Iron Tail is more powerful than Jab, but more innacurate risk v reward there
  • Earthquake is always welcomed coverage, and hits mons like Tentacruel for more damage, but than Kommo-o is walled by Togekiss, and has a harder time dealing with fairies

Set Details
========

  • Max Attack investment allows Kommo-o as hard as possible
  • Max speed is essential as at +1 it can outspeed Mega Aero, the fastest mon in the tier
  • Dragonium Z allows Kommo-o to use Z outrage, which allows a one time nuke, and not to be locked into Outrage

Usage Tips
========

  • Dragon Dance Kommo-o should be used as a wincon, when its checks/counters are weakened
  • Be sure to scout for faster scarfers, like Hydreigon and Latias
  • If Overcoat, don't be afraid to set up on Amoongus, as its immune to powder moves such as Spore
Team Options
========

  • Aurora Veil is great for Kommo-o as it increases its natural bulk further
  • Pursuit Trappers such as Alolan Muk helps trap faster Pokemon like Latias
  • Breakers like CB Entei help wear down and burn everything for Kommo-o to clean up

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Specs seems good on paper, since it also has Clanging Scales, are more spammable, but slightly weaker Draco, and a great Special movepool, but is mostly outclassed by other special dragons like Lati and Hydreigon
  • Mixed Wallbreaker is also an option, but again, it outclassed by Hydreigon with its superior mixed capabilities and better speed
List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to either being not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Crobat**: Crobat can easily come in on a sub, and Brave Bird right past it
**Quagsire**: Quagsire is a straight stop to all physical Kommo-o's as it stops/prevents the sweep from happening
**Klefki**: Klefki can take on DD variants of Kommo-o lacking Eq, as it lives a +1 Close Combat, and does not let BD set up
**Faster Scarfers**: Latias and Hydreigon outspeed at +1 and can ko back
**Hippowdon**: This mon counters the BD variant as it tanks a +6 Drain Punch and can Whirlwind Kommo-o out
**Tentacruel**: Tenta takes on both sets, as it tanks +6 Shadow Claw, and +1 Z Outrage, and can threaten with haze, and Liquid Ooze in BD's case

Looking at this analysis, it'd take too much work to make this actually QC ready, to the point where I'd have an easier time simply writing it myself.

To elaborate, DD 3 attacks is honestly not worth a set on its own; while its Fighting typing is nice with decent bulk, it just does not hit hard nor fast enough. I'd just use something like Haxorus over it. Stealth Rock SD is a set that definitely deserves being written about considering it gets up rocks and is able to really weaken common switch-ins with SD-boosted attacks. The Sub BD set is fine for the most part, but Fire Punch doesn't need to be listed at all. In your examples, Celebi and Doublade both get dealt with by Shadow Claw and I'll hardly be in a situation where you absolutely need to OHKO Amoonguss as opposed to having HP to sub up or KO with Shadow Claw. You're also a Kommo-o that can't KO Latias.

Sets aside, your details are really barebones and don't tell me much about Kommo-o at all outside of very basic stuff, which doesn't really need a UU player to write, especially the usage tips and team options. The checks and counters are kinda shoddy when you have Tentacruel mentioned for example. It does not tank +1 Devastating Drake with a standard spread and +6 Shadow Claw KOes after rocks. The others could definitely be expanded and grouped together better as well.

I'm not trying to undermine the effort you've put into this analysis, as I can tell that you do have experience with the meta and this Pokémon, but at the end of the day this isn't up to the standard of QC. I encourage you to have a look at analyses written by people like Pak to get an idea of what we're looking for. As of now though, I'll be locking and putting this back up for reservation.
