- Stealth Rock / Hidden Power Ice / Spikes

[SET COMMENTS]

Mega Garchomp is a great wallbreaker due to its enormous Attack stat, allowing it to invest its EVs almost entirely into Special Attack, luring checks like Landorus-T and Corviknight expecting the Swords Dance set. Draco Meteor allows Mega Garchomp to hit physically bulky Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Dondozo, and Great Tusk. Fire-type coverage is important to hit Steel-types that don‘t mind Earthquake, such as Ferrothorn and Corviknight. Flamethrower used instead of Fire Blast for the increased accuracy in exchange for power. The fourth moveslot can be either Spikes or Stealth Rock to capitalize on the switches it forces, chipping down threats into range of its attacks while also threatening common hazard removers like Rotom-W and Landorus-T. Hidden Power Ice can also be used to heavily damage Gliscor after luring it. A Hasty nature helps Mega Garchomp take hits from Heatran and Mega Charizard Y, while Naive aids against Mega Tyranitar and Gouging Fire lacking a Dragon-type move. Mega Garchomp fits best on offensive teams that appreciate an early-game wallbreaker that can also set up hazards on switches it forces against Pokemon like Heatran and Galarian Slowking. Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Volcarona appreciate the hazards, chipping opponents into range of their attacks; they also appreciate its ability to take out specially bulky Pokemon like Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Ogerpon-W and Weavile also appreciate Mega Garchonp’s ability to threaten Pokemon like Raging Bolt and Ferrothorn, while it appreciates these teammates forcing Terastillization on Alomomola and Zapdos. Although Mega Garchomp is strong physically and specially, it’s still walled by Pokemon like Alomomola, Ting-Lu, add hyphen and Clefable, making Kartana and Heatran are good partners, as they can both deal with these checks and allow Mega Garchomp to wallbreak for them. Mega Garchomp’s lack of Speed allows faster Pokemon like Iron Valiant, Weavile, and Mega Diancie to threaten an OHKO and force it out, so Pokemon that can deal with them such as Iron Crown, Ferrothorn, and Volcarona are appreciated. Mega Garchomp also can’t really wallbreak common Tera types from Pokemon such as Garganacl, Ferrothorn, and Heatran, so Pokemon that can account for these such as Nasty Plot Tornadus-T and Weavile are appreciated.

Mixed Mega Garchomp is a great wall-breaker, and a great stall-breaker not a stallbreaker, those are quite different - chomp on this set doesnt set up or taunt/encore so it cant outdamage most tanks' recovery moves due to Mega Garchomp’s enormous Attack stat, allowing it to invest it’s EV’s almost entirely into Special Attack, while also luring checks expecting the Swords Dance set. Earthquake is used in favor of Earth Power because of the higher BP, and that it can get OHKO’s on Slowking-Galar, Clodsire, and Mega Diancie, while also dealing more damage to Garganacl and Specially Defensive Toxapex eq is already rather self-explanatory, if you really want to talk about earthquake it would be good to mention how ground is a good offensive type overall since it hits most stuff for neutral. Draco Meteor is chosen also because of it’s higher BP, which allows Mega Garchomp to have a hard damaging option on the special side, to deal with physically bulky Pokémon such as Alomomola and Great Tusk, which could use it to remove hazards or pivot. Fire coverage is important to Steels thst don’t take that much damage from earthquake, such as Ferrothorn and Corviknight, as well as Pokemon who could threaten to outspeed and cripple it, such as Rillaboom and Kartana. Flamethrower can be subbed out for Fire Blast for the increased accuracy and additional PP in exchange for power. The 4th slot can be Hidden Power Ice to have a stronger way to deal with Pokémon like Landorus-Therian and Gliscor, or it could be entry hazards in the form of spikes or stealth rock, to capitalize on the switches it makes to chip down threats in range of it’s attacks. Mega Garchomp fits best on Offensive teams that appreciate a early-game wallbreaker, that can also set up hazards on switches. Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Volcarona appreciate the hazards, chipping opponents into range of their attacks, and it’s ability to take out specially bulky Pokémon like Slowking-Galar. Tapu Lele in particular can set up Psychic Terrain to stop priority from the likes of Scizor-Mega and Fake-Outs from Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny. not really useful in that sense, altho lele is a good pair in its own right It’s also not required to immediately Mega Evolve, as the speed reduction could open up Mega Garchomp to hard hits from Pokémon it would have outsped, like Urshifu-Rapid-Strike. Mega Garchomp is really weak to priority from the aforementioned Rillaboom, Greninja, and Dragonite, so Pokémon that can deal with them, such as Corviknight, Moltres, and IronPress Zamazenta can keep Garchomp-Mega safe to keep attacking. chomp is tanky enough that these shouldnt bother it too much and also kinda slow already Mega Garchomp can also struggle with faster Pokemon with coverage like Offensive Great Tusk, so Pokémon with Priority to deal with these Pokémon is also appreciated. while its true that fast mons beat you coverage is not a long term solution

teammates section needs a lot of improvement - should focus on mons that chomp struggles to beat in general, both offensively and defensively, so pls add the following:
chomp being slow makes it vulnerable to stuff like ival weavile mdia etc that all force it out, so teammates that can switch into these mons like crown ferro etc
chomp being unable to break tera mons like fairy arch fairy bolt grass tran ghost ferro, so teammates that can beat these mons like SD kart weav lele are good
mention that chomp often forces tera against bulky offense and balance so sweepers like waterpon and booster gouging can clean after chomp wallbreaks
was looking at more general edits in this check, will need a second check where i fix the nitty gritty and see if you implement the big comment at the bottom correctly
also, this is gonna be really painful for GP

looks good, held back on making grammar edits for now (when it comes time to GP oh boy this is gonna be painted in red and blue)

Hasty / Naive Nature hasty helps you take hits from Tran and yard better
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Ice / Spikes / Stealth Rock Stealth Rock / Hidden Power Ice / Spikes a lot of the flyings you hit are just hit by Draco anyways, slotting rocks puts much less of a strain on building too which is important (as you can free up moveslots for stuff like Tran and Ferro)

[SET COMMENTS]

Mixed Mega Garchomp is a great wall-breaker due to Mega Garchomp’s enormous Attack stat, allowing it to invest its EV’s almost entirely into Special Attack, luring checks what checks exactly? Mention examples like Lando and corv expecting the Swords Dance set. Earthquake is a good neutral option against most foes and notably OHKOes Galarian Slowking and Clodsire. this is pretty easy to interpret no? There aren’t many neutral things that eq would hit, like mola would rather get dracoed and something like ting takes nothing from it anyways Draco Meteor allows Mega Garchomp to have a hard damaging option on the special side, to deal with physically bulky Pokémon such as Alomomola Rotom-W, Dondozo, sure it’s a good hit into Mola but the wording makes it seem like Draco is a surefire way of dealing with it which it isn’t. Donzo is also a good thing to mention because a lot of them will switch in on chomp expecting sd and Great Tusk. Fire coverage is important to hit Steels thst that don’t take that much damage from eEarthquake, such as Ferrothorn and Corviknight, as well as Rillaboom and Kartana. Rilla can just get slammed by Draco and doesn’t really give fire coverage meaning especially since fire blast isn’t even guaranteed to Ohko. Also kart just dies to Draco / eq Flamethrower can be subbed out for Fire Blast for the increased accuracy and additional PP you are clicking fire blast like 4 times maximum a game since it has specific (but still important) targets and is not generally clicked into most things in exchange for power. [The 4th slot can be Hidden Power Ice to lure and heavily damage Landorus-Therian you will likely be 2hkoing this with Draco, and Gliscor, ] or it could be [entry hazards in the form of sSpikes or sStealth rRock, to capitalize on the switches it makes to chip down threats in range of it’s attacks while also threatening common hazard removers like Rotom-W and Landorus-T this really solidifies rocks as a good choice ]. Switch the stuff in brackets to reflect the move change | also mention the difference in natures here and how hasty can do what I said above + how naive can take hits from stuff like mtar and gouging lacking a dragon move Mega Garchomp fits best on offensive teams that appreciate a early-game wallbreaker, that can also set up hazards on switches it forces against Pokemon like Heatran and Galarian Slowking. Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Volcarona appreciate the hazards, chipping opponents into range of their attacks, and it’s ability to take out specially bulky Pokémon like Skiwking-Galar Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Ogerpon-Wellspring and Booster Energy no reason for just booster Gouging Fire also appreciate Mega Garchonp’s ability to threaten Pokemon like Raging Bolt and Landorus-T, while it appreciates these teammates forcing Terastillization on Alomomola and Zapdos force Terastalization against balance and bulky offense teams this is super vague and there’s nothing that you force Tera on for these 2. In fact the opposite is probably true. It’s not required to immediately Mega Evolve, as the speed reduction could open up Mega Garchomp to hard hits from Pokémon it would have outsped, like Urshifu-Rapid-Strike. I don’t see why you would do this especially because you can’t revenge these guys without like 40% worth of chip not mega. I’d replace this part for a part about how stuff like Mola, ting Lu, and Clef can check it so stuff like Kart and Heatran work well with it Garchomp’s lack of speed in general allows faster Pokemon like Iron Valiant, Weavile, and Mega Diancie to threaten an OHKO and force it out, so Pokémon that can deal with these Pokémon, such as Iron Crown, Ferrothorn, and Volcarona Choice Scarf Tapu Lele weav can actually avoid the rkill entirely 100% by using some pressure tech, and revenging mdia is too broad for scarf lele to be mentioned just for that. In the case of Val sure but you would rather have a defensive check to something that can threaten you out are appreciated. Mega Garchomp also can’t really break common Tera types from Pokémon such as Archaludon Garganacl Rain has a bevy of other options to deal with mchomp so arch is the least of its worries. Garg can also potentially be really threatening if it Teras, Ferrothorn, and Heatran, so Pokémon that can account for these such as Swords Dance Kartana Nasty Plot Tornadus-T kart can just ssword boosted before Tera, and it’s not like you do better against them if they Tera and Weavile are appreciated.
Let me take one more look at this when implemented

Ogerpon-Wellspring and Gouging Fire Weavile In hindsight I don’t really see what gouging would do for Mchomp really besides Mchomp just weakening Lando (which isn’t very hard to do) also appreciate Mega Garchonp’s ability to threaten Pokemon like Raging Bolt and Landorus-T Ferrothorn this is to accommodate for the teammate change, while it appreciates these teammates forcing Terastillization on Alomomola and Zapdos.
Pick the natures of Mega Garchomp based off what you want it to be able to take better, as A Hasty nature The wording feels a little off here, as it just explaining the natures and what they do fulfills what this sentence tries to accomplish helps Mega Garchomp take hits from Heatran and Mega Charizard Y, while Naive does that for Mega Tyranitar and Gouging Fire if it’s not running a dragon move.
2/2, sorry for not catching these things in the last check
