IF the challengers have already won their 2nd badge....

You strode confidently towards the rock henge, and crossed the threshold into the barren, gravelly, sacred ground. The henge is already glowing, and you find yourself looking at some Unown formes previously unseen of. Wait, these are-

"Kanji Unown, yes."

Raising an eyebrow, you turned back at the Gym Leader standing in front of you.

"And they're the source of your team's strengths, Wukong?"

"Of course. I've heard a lot about you challenger - that's why I'm not gonna hold back on you. Welcome, to Rock Origins, the Gym."

Arena mechanics
  1. All Rock-types get Solid Rock and Rock Head in addition, if they don't already have it.
  2. In Sandstorms, all attacks against Rock-types also suffer -3 BAP, instead of just Special Attacks.
  3. All defensive moves listed under Rock STAB gain +4 Priority instead of the original +1. Pokemons whose primary STAB is Rock-type automatically gain knowledge of all moves listed in the STAB description, except Multi-target, Priority, or Damaging moves (Exclusion lists: Detect, Quick Guard, Wide Guard, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash).
  4. No external rock, water, or grass sources.
  5. No seismic combos allowed.
  6. Camouflage turns user into Rock-type, Nature Power calls Ancient Power, and Secret Power lowers Speed by one (1) stage.

Team Leader

Stratagem - Erza (U)

A swordsman wields the blade with graceful precision, just as Erza uses her attacks with dangerous beauty. She walked in on one of Gray and Natsu’s brawls, and the resulting free-for-all wore on for half a day before Zheng can subdue her with a Pokeball. Unknowingly for her, that fight left a lasting impression on the two – they’re cautious almost to the point of fearful whenever in her company since then. Wendy and Charla looks up to her as a role model, though, and it was Erza who took care of them, even though she was newer to the family.

Chargestone Cave is the hallowed ground for all of Erza's ancestry, yet she decides that she will withhold her instincts to evolve for the sake of her family. Small but close-knit, everyone looks up to Erza as the big sister, even though her quirks with boys sometimes astonished the girls and make the shy ones (like Juvia and Wendy) blush. After a series of long, drawn out clashes with Mirajane, both of them seemed to have settled to a cordial relationship, mutually agreeing to avoid mentioning the past conflicts, opting instead to look after the girls together and knock the boys down a peg or two when they get too loud.

It wasn't until the strawberry cake event that Erza finally found the courage to overcome her fear. The truth was, she was scared of shouldering her responsibility being a full-grown Stratagem, relying more and more on the rest of the family despite the lads' deferment to her leadership and skills. Resolving to do whatever it takes to protect herself and those around her, she secretly learn how to manipulate the nature from Mirajane, and the two became very fast friends. Although, Mirajane seems to have picked up some of Erza's racy quirks as well...

Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Atk)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Fast Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Protect, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by 2 BAP during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Levitate
Type: Passive
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the all seismic moves. Earth Power will have 3 less BAP. Dig and Dive can still strike a Levitating Pokemon, but only if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Other Ground moves can still hit.

Ability 2: Technician
Type: Passive
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

Ability 3: Mold Breaker (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Rias Gremory, "Princess of Crimson Ruin" - Tyrantrum (F)

Rias is born to a rare family - one in which both her parents were present to take care of her. Before her, they already had a son - who grew up, evolved, and went away to stake his own territory. Being the younger "princess", Rias enjoyed all the privileges - and hardships - that her life as a future empress has to offer, before a cataclysm caused the death of herself and her whole family millions of years before the time of humans.

Being resurrected by Zheng, she is given to and named by Tanner as her Trainer, who somehow also hold another Jaw Fossil that can't be revived - probably because the piece held remnants of both her parents. It is rumoured that Rias' brother walks the earth again this same era that she does, however Rias does not know where to find him.

Evolving into her grown form, Rias still continues the search for her brother. And then she met Issei, then a young Charmander who knew nothing much about the world except the fire in his belly.... Who is just one of her "peerage" of Pokemons, each with stories of their own. She decides that it is high time she declared herself King, and she readies herself for the challenges of her very own monarchy by training relentlessly.

Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk) - caring but stern

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Rias is fast on her mind to add an additional level of Priority on Protect. She also takes reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, and is immune to Sandstorm damage. Her natural magic can mold and build rocks, ignoring Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.
Dragon type: Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist. Her powerful will allows Thrash or Outrage to be undisrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Strong Jaw
Type: Passive
Rias' thick fang and massive jaws give her incredibly powerful biting attacks, increasing the BAP of all biting attacks by three (3) BAP. Full List: Bite, Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Poison Fang, Thunder Fang.

Ability 2: Rock Head (Unlocked)
Type: Passive
Rias' body and willpower fortifies herself in battle, preventing it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash.

Thank goodness there won't be any Mega-Gallades or Mega-Aggrons. People - (please don't) bring Aggron to my gym. It can even withstand the heat of the almighty Magcargo, said to be hotter than the surface of the sun.

"Alien flesh. Ammonium content levels over tolerance threshold. Not compatible."
  • Gogmagog's Left (Omastar w/ Focus Sash @ Swift Swim, Shell Armour, Solid Rock, Rock Head)
  • Insurrector (Gigalith w/ Link Cable @ Sand Stream, Sturdy, Solid Rock, Rock Head)

"Alright everyone, this is our first gym match in quite some time, so I'll need you to do your best. Let's get that badge!"

Ramsés (Revenankh) @ Expert Belt w/ Air Lock and Triage
Subway (Clawitzer) @ Rare Candy w/ Mega Launcher

Clawitzer:
Muddy Water - Muddy Water
- IF Wide Guard THEN Water Pulse (Omastar) the first instance, Aura Sphere (Omastar) the second.
- IF Omastar is under the effects of a P/E move THEN Scald (Gigalith) instead.
- IF damaging grass type combo AND you are the target THEN Protect. Only do so once.

Revenankh:
Knock Off (Omastar) - Power Whip (Omastar)
- [ONCE] IF Omastar is to use Spikes AND you are faster AND Omastar is not under the effects of a P/E move THEN Taunt (Omastar) and push actions back.
- IF Omastar uses Knock Off AND targetting Clawitzer AND you are faster AND you did not use Protect last action THEN Protect (Clawitzer). Only do so once.
- IF Omastar is under the effects of a P/E move THEN Knock Off (Gigalith) the first instance, Hammer Arm (Gigalith) the second, pushing actions back each time.
- IF damaging flying type combo AND you are the target AND you did not use protect last action THEN Protect (Self).

I... honestly did not know what to do with so many subs. And even then, chances are I missed something extremely obvious. Or that my own subs will screw me up (quite the possiblity I must say).

Got knocked off footing by 2apr, is all. Having Bide neutered means I have one less method of a comeback, when I'm short as is ;-;
Also I had to use Sand Stream. Only seems fair - I can't retroactively not activate it just because Revenankh is sent out to counter it. EDIT: I am so dumb to self-target with Whirlpool.

*growls imperceptibly*
Gogmagog's Left (Omastar w/ Focus Sash): Whirlpool (Clawitzer) > Protect (self)

Insurrector (Gigalith w/ Link Cable): [Activate: Sand Stream] Wide Guard > Protect (self)

Okay, Clawitzer is trapped, even if I switch out Omastar, right? Initiate Switch Phase! Both replaced respectively by:

*roars, flexes and revs up backrail*

  • Erza (Stratagem w/ Expert Belt @ Mould Breaker, Levitate, Rock Head, Solid Rock)
  • Yamarashi (Golem-A w/ Muscle Band @ Sturdy, Galvanize, Rock Head, Solid Rock)
Counterswitch?

Suddenly I don't feel so good. Despite being able to deal significant damage to that pesky Clawitzer in a 1v1. Also Jayy made me specify an extra (timing clause) into my subs, making them now mini-paragraphs of conditional statements. EDIT: I am also dumb.

*rolls up and uses backrail to propel into the air*
Erza (Stratagem w/ Expert Belt): Energy Ball > Giga Drain, both @ Subway-Clawitzer
IF Subway-Clawitzer is KO'ed when Erza-Stratagem is to act, THEN replace that action with Shadow Ball @ Ramsés-Revenankh instead.
IF Subway-Clawitzer is under the evasive phase of Damaging Evasive moves when Erza-Stratagem is to act, THEN replace that action with Shadow Ball @ Ramsés-Revenankh instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Subway-Clawitzer is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves when Erza-Stratagem is to act, THEN replace that action with Shadow Ball @ Ramsés-Revenankh instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Erza-Stratagem is targeted by Ramsés-Revenankh with a Fighting-type damaging move AND also by Subway-Clawitzer with a Water-type damaging move, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead, pushing remaining queue back.

Yamarashi (Golem-A w/ Muscle Band): Double-Edge > Double-Edge, both @ Subway-Clawitzer
IF Subway-Clawitzer is KO'ed when Yamarashi-Golem-A is to act, THEN redirect towards Ramsés-Revenankh instead.
IF Subway-Clawitzer is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves when Yamarashi-Golem-A is to target it, THEN redirect towards Ramsés-Revenankh instead.
IF Subway-Clawitzer is under the evasive phase of Damaging Evasive moves when Yamarashi-Golem-A is to target it, THEN redirect towards Ramsés-Revenankh instead.
IF Tavok ordered for Yamarashi-Golem-A to be targeted by a Ground-type damaging combo, THEN change the order of that action to Barrier instead.
IF Yamarashi-Golem-A no longer has Galvanize as an Ability when Yamarashi-Golem-A is to act, THEN replace that action with Thunder Punch instead.

Sorry, didn't know this was fixed (although tbf I didn't check).

Revenankh:
Focus Punch + Focus Punch (Golem) - Cooldown (Brick Break Golem))

-If Clawitzer's combo is deemed illegal (Aqua Jet + Giga Impact) THEN redirect all actions to Stratagem
Clawitzer:
Helping Hand (Revenankh) - Aqua Jet + Giga Impact (Golem)

-If Clawitzer's combo is deemed illegal at the star of the round (Aqua Jet + Giga Impact) THEN Aqua jet + Aqua Jet (Stratagem) a2 instead

Time to go for the throat! And hopefully don't leave myself too exposed. Otachi (Archeops w/ Rage Candy Bar @ Defeatist, Rock Head, Solid Rock) coming in.

"Category 4 now, huh? I better step up my efforts as well!"
Erza (Stratagem w/ Expert Belt): Dazzling Gleam (Ramsés-Revenankh & Tommy-Gallade) > Shadow Ball (Ramsés-Revenankh)

IF Ramsés-Revenankh is KO'ed, THEN replace that action with Shadow Ball @ Tommy-Gallade instead.
IF Tommy-Gallade is KO'ed, THEN replace that action with Shadow Ball @ Ramsés-Revenankh instead.

Otachi (Archeops w/ Rage Candy Bar): [Consume Rage Candy Bar] Acrobatics (Ramsés-Revenankh) > Wing Attack (Ramsés-Revenankh)
IF Ramsés-Revenankh is KO'ed, THEN replace that action with Wing Attack @ Tommy-Gallade instead.
IF Otachi-Archeops is being targeted with Pain Split, THEN replace the first instance with Protect (self) instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Otachi-Archeops' target is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves, THEN redirect to the other opponent instead.
IF Otachi-Archeops' target is under the effects of Double Team, THEN replace that action with Aerial Ace instead, without redirecting targets.
IF, at the start of the action, Tommy-Gallade is ordered to use Heal Pulse @ Ramsés-Revenankh AND Otachi-Archeops would move before Tommy-Gallade AND Otachi-Archeops is NOT under the effects of Taunt, THEN replace that action with Taunt @ Tommy-Gallade instead, pushing remaining queue back.

Ok nvm give me a sec...

Aggron w/ Focus Sash
Ferrothorn w/ Grassium-Z

Aggron: Heavy Slam (Stratagem) - Heavy Slam (Stratagem)
- IF Stratagem is KOed AND Archeops is set to use Barrier THEN Stealth Rock instead.
- IF Stratagem is KOed AND Archeops is set to use a P/E move THEN Stealth Rock instead.
- IF Stratagem is KOed THEN Heavy Slam (Archeops).
- IF Stratagem is under the effects of a P/E move THEN redirect to Archeops.

Ferrothorn: Leech Seed (Stratagem) - Leech Seed (Stratagem)
- IF Stratagem is KOed AND Archeops is set to use Barrier THEN Spikes instead.
- IF Stratagem is KOed AND Archeops is set to use a P/E move THEN Spikes instead.
- IF Stratagem is KOed THEN Gyro Ball (Archeops).
- IF Stratagem is under the effects of a P/E move THEN Gyro Ball (Archeops) and push actions back.

Could be better, I guess, but that's better than nothing, I guess? (I was going to ff so this is definitely better).

*screeches*
Erza (Stratagem w/ Expert Belt): Flamethrower + Flamethrower {Flame Empress' Charge Slash!!} (Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn) > combo cooldown (Heat Wave + Heat Wave) {Flame Empress' Sweep!!}

Otachi (Archeops): Ally Switch (Erza-Stratagem) > Acrobatics (Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn)
IF Erza-Stratagem is KO'ed when Otachi-Archeops would act A1, THEN replace that action with Knock Off @ Skull-Aggron instead.
IF Erza-Stratagem is KO'ed when Otachi-Archeops would act A2, THEN replace that action with Roost instead.

Frosty, my Stratagem has Mould Breaker to negate Ferrothorn's Anticipation, so it'll end up with 4 less HP (53 post-round). Replacing with Insurrector (Gigalith w/ Link Cable), and Tavok still has a chance to turn this back on me, bit by bit - Solid Rock Aggron and Ferrothorn are really no joke here ;-;
Insurrector (Gigalith w/ Link Cable): [Activate: Sand Stream] Rock Smash > Mud-Slap, both at (Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn)
IF Skull-Aggron is ordered to use Focus Punch, THEN replace that action with Rock Slide instead.
IF Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn is under the effects of Substitute, THEN replace that action with Superpower @ Iron-Thorn Ferrothorn instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn is ordered to use Endeavour @ Insurrector-Gigalith AND Insurrector-Gigalith is NOT under the effects of Taunt AND Insurrector-Gigalith did NOT use Protect last action, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead.
IF both Skull-Aggron is ordered to target Insurrector-Gigalith with a Steel-type damaging move AND Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn is ordered to target Insurrector-Gigalith with a Grass-type damaging Z-move at the start of an action AND Insurrector-Gigalith is NOT under the effects of Taunt AND Insurrector-Gigalith did NOT use Protect last action, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead.

Otachi (Archeops): Acrobatics (Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn) > Acrobatics (Iron Thorn-Ferrothorn)
IF Skull-Aggron is ordered to target Otachi-Archeops with a Rock-type damaging move at the start of an action AND Otachi-Archeops is NOT under the effects of Taunt AND Otachi-Archeops did NOT use Protect last action, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead.
IF Skull-Aggron is ordered to target Otachi-Archeops with a Steel-type damaging move at the start of an action AND Otachi-Archeops is NOT under the effects of Taunt AND Otachi-Archeops did NOT use Protect last action, THEN replace that action with Protect (self) instead.
IF Iron-Thorn Ferrothorn is under the effects of Protective/Evasive actions, THEN replace Acrobatics with Earth Power @ Skull-Aggron instead.
