[OVERVIEW]

  • Rotom-W's typing and ability leaves it with only 1 weakness to Grass-type moves, which are uncommon as well as a powerful immunity to Ground-type attacks. With access to Volt Switch, Hydro Pump, and a decent Special Attack stat, Rotom-W can pivot while threatening out Ground-types that might try to block it
  • Because of these reasons Rotom-Wash fits nicely onto voltturn and bulky offense oriented teams functioning as a decent pivot that is able gain momentum, checking Landorus-T, etc.
  • Pain Split is Rotom-W's only form of recovery, and while Rotom is able to use it well with its low base HP stat, it's still unreliable.
  • Because Rotom-Wash has this unreliable form of recovery and fewer coverage options, it receives a lot of competition against other Volt Switch users such as Cyclohm and Krillowatt. However, what sets it apart is its access to Will-O-Wisp and Levitate.

Moves
========
  • Volt Switch allows Rotom-Wash to pivot out almost effortlessly. Keep in mind however this doesn't include Pokemon immune to Electric-type attacks such as Excadrill, Colossoil, Cawmodore, Voodoom, Zygarde, and Garchomp.
  • Hydro Pump is essential for dealing with opposing Ground-, Fire-, and Rock-types that inhabit the CAP metagame. Some examples of these Pokemon are Landorus-Therian, Fidgit, Gliscor, Stratagem, and Heatran.
  • Pain Split is imperative to replenish its health on targets with higher HP.
  • Defog enables Rotom-Wash to remove entry hazards, which is important as it relieves some pressure from the team.
  • Will-O-Wisp enables Rotom-Wash to pressure and cripple most physical threats that it pivots into such as Landorus-Therian, Tapu-Bulu, and Kitsunoh
  • Rotom-Wash is able to successfully lure in other bulky Pokemon and cripple them thanks to its access to Toxic. Pyroak is perfect example of a Pokemon that Rotom-Wash can cripple. Other examples include Tangrowth, Mega Venusaur, and other Rotom-Wash

Set Details
========
  • In order to successfully pivot into physical threats Rotom-Wash needs to maximize its defenses with a Bold nature and the presented EVs.
  • The Special Defense investment allows Rotom-Wash to be 3HKO’d by offensive Tomohawk’s Hurricane.
  • Leftovers provides Rotom-Wash with a secondary form of recovery which in turn increases it longevity later in the game.
  • If Rotom-Wash needs to pivot into more special attacking threats it runs a set of 248 HP / 144 Def / and finally 116 SpD with a Calm nature. This allows it to more easily check Ash-Greninja and Volkraken.

Usage Tips
========
  • Rotom-Wash is most easily switched into threats it is most capable of checking such as Landorus-T (non Smack Down variants), Fidgit, Revenankh, Salamence, Mega Pinsir, Tornadus-Theian, defensive Tomohawk, and Excadrill lacking the ability Mold Breaker.
  • Cripple offensive threats and alleviate pressure early in the game by using Will-O-Wisp. Will-O-Wisp should be used when forcing a switch or tanking a hit.
  • Gain back momentum with Volt Switch after forcing a switch to keep the game in your favor. One should note however that Pokemon that are immune to Electric-type moves will not be affected by Volt Switch making it useless against that particular Pokemon.
  • Rotom-Wash doesn't appreciate taking any unnecessary damage so it is best to try to be conservative with HP only pivoting in when necessary.
  • By using Pain Split, Rotom-Wash is able to restore bits and pieces of its HP after losing HP. This allows it to more easily take on and beat high HP threats such as Colossoil more easily by restoring HP and chipping down the opposing Pokemon.

Team Options
========
  • Pokemon with the move U-turn such as Mega Scizor, Syclant, and Volkraken are able to form a VoltTurn core with Rotom-Wash.
  • because Grass-type is the only weakness Rotom-Wash has it appreciates teammates that can handle them such as Heatran, Tomohawk, and Mollux.
  • Heavily offensive Pokemon such as wallbreakers and wincons that are threatened by Ice-, Ground-, or Flying-types appreciate Rotom-Wash as their pivot. Some examples of these are Mega Crucibelle, Double Dance Landorus-Therian, and Zygarde.
  • Fire- and Grass-types are able to form Fire Water Grass cores with Rotom-Wash. A more prevalent core, as an example, is the infamous Mega Venusaur, Heatran, Rotom-Wash core or the Rotom-Wash, Heatran, Ferrothorn core.
  • Sweepers and wallbreakers that are easily beaten by revenge killers often appreciate Rotom-W's slow Volt Swithes. Examples include Landorus-Therian, Mega Gardevoir, and Zygarde
  • Rotom-Wash resists most of the tiers Priority moves which makes it a valuable teammate for Pokemon that dislike being struck by priority. Examples are Landorus-Therian, Zygarde, Mega Manectric, Weavile, and Syclant.
  • Pokemon that appreciate gained momentum and VoltTurn teams pair extremely well with Rotom-Wash. Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian, Magearna, Cyclohm, Mega Mawile, and Tapu Bulu.
  • Rotom-Wash provides its teammates with slow Volt Switch support meaning they can come in for free as long as Rotom-Wash is slower then the opposing Pokemon
  • Pokemon that appreciate bulky Grass-types lured in such as Flyinium Z Landorus-Therian, Offensive Tomohawk, and Syclant all appreciate the momentum that Rotom-Wash provides them with.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============
  • Instead of using Pain Split, Rotom-Wash can run Rest in conjunction with Chesto Berry to fully restore its HP once per game. Chesto Berry wakes Rotom-Wash up right away in order to keep your momentum up; after Chesto Berry is consumed Rest becomes mediocre
  • Depending on your team, Thunder Wave can be run over Will-O-Wisp to cripple faster Pokemon. Thunder Wave should be used if your team is weak to most common wallbreakers and or sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Gardevoir, and Aurumoth
  • Rotom-Wash can also run Trick and a Choice Specs or Choice Scarf in order to cripple a defensive threat on the opposing team.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Opposing Grass-types, such as Mega Venusaur, Serperior, and Tangrowth, force Rotom-W out with their STAB moves. Will-O-Wisp can pressure physical attackers such as Tapu-Bulu, Necturna, and Ferrothorn on the switch-in.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types are able to soak up both of Rotom-W’s STAB attacks, and specially offensive Dragon-types like Mega Latias, Latios, Hydreigon , and Kingdra don't care about burn that much. However, Dragonium Z Garchomp and Dragonium Z Zygarde have to watch out for Will-O-Wisp.

**Electric-Types**: Plasmanta cares little about Rotom-Wash due to its Electric typing and access to the ability Storm Drain. It completely walls Rotom-Wash and can easily check a physically defensive oriented Rotom-Wash. Krillowatt and Zapdos also don't mind any of what Rotom-Wash has to offer as they quickly shut it down.

**Wallbreakers**: Wallbreakers, such as Hoopa-U, Tapu Lele, and offensive Tomohawk overwhlem Rotom-Wash's defenses quite easily due to their incredible damage output. However, they have to be careful switching into Volt Switch, as Rotom-W will escape.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Due to Rotom-Wash having solid Defensive stat distribution at exactly 107 it allows it to successfully pivot on a majority of today’s current CAP metagame. Rotom-W having a defense stat of 107 doesn't make it a good pivot. It pivots well because it has one weakness, good resistances, great overall bulk, access to Volt Switch, and Levitate, with a good Special Attack stat and coverage to boot.
  • This almost guarantees it a spot on any voltturn or bulky offensive team. It doesn't guarantee a spot. Explain why it can be easy to fit it on one of these teams.
  • Rotom-Wash is a key way to gain momentum in most matches it is played in. 2nd and 3rd points are fluff, explain why.
  • Unfortunately Rotom-Wash lacks reliable recovery makes it harder to preserve in the long run when pivoting. Explain the limitations of Pain Split too, as Rotom-W is one of the better users of the move to begin with.
Rotom has more limitations than its reliance on Pain Split. Explain why it can be pressuredMention its competition with Krilowatt as a Volt Switcher that can pressure Ground-type switch-ins.

  • Volt Switch allows Rotom-Wash to pivot out almost effortlessly in most common situations. Except against Ground-types and Electric-type immunites such as...
  • Hydro Pump is the only water STAB move that Rotom-Wash gains access to. It is essential for dealing with opposing Ground-, Fire-, and Rock-types that inhabit the CAP metagame. Which ones?
  • Will-O-Wisp enables Rotom-Wash to pressure and cripple most physical threats that it pivots into such as Kitsunoh, Arghonaut, and Buzzwole. Pick more relevant threats that might tackle Rotom-W like Smack Down Landorus-T or Tapu Bulu
  • Pain Split is the only form of Recovery Rotom-Wash has besides Rest which makes it imperative to replenish its health on targets with higher HP.
  • Rotom-Wash is able to successfully lure in other bulky Pokemon and cripple them thanks to its access to Toxic. Pyroak is perfect example of a Pokemon that Rotom-Wash can cripple. Add Tangrowth and a few more examples to the list
  • Rotom-Wash can also run Trick and a choice item in order to choice lock threats on the opposing team. Move this to OO

Set Details
========

  • In order to successfully pivot into physical threats Rotom-Wash needs the 248 HP investment along with the 240 Defense investment. "HP EVs," "Defense EVs" If you aren't going to name what physical threats, just say it maximizes Defense
  • The Special Defense investment allows Rotom-Wash to be 3HKO’d by offensive Tomohawk’s Hurricane which is not commonly seen in the CAP metagame. If it's not commonly seen (it is though), pick a better example.
  • Leftovers provides Rotom-Wash with a secondary form of recovery which in turn increases it longevity later in the game.
  • A Bold nature give Rotom-Wash the extra Defense boost. Merge this with the first point
  • If Rotom-Wash needs to pivot into more special attacking threats it runs a set of 248 HP / 144 Def / and finally 116 SpD with a Calm nature. Why should I run this?

Usage Tips
========

  • Rotom-Wash is most easily switched into threats it is most capable of checking such as Landorus-T, Fidgit, Revenankh, and Excadrill. Gotta watch out for Smack Down on Landorus, Power Whip on Revenankh, and Mold Breaker on Excadrill though. Cite stuff like Salamence too.
  • Cripple offensive threats and alleviate pressure by using Will-O-Wisp. Expand on this point, it's pretty vague
  • Gain back momentum with Volt Switch after forcing a switch to keep the game in your favor. When do you not use this? When there's a Ground-type? A Voodoom?
  • Try to be conservative with HP as Rotom-Wash only has Pain Split for semi-reliable recovery.
  • By using Pain Split, Rotom-Wash is able to restore bits and pieces of its HP. Explain how Pain Split lets Rotom-W 1v1 Colossoil or just in general inflict massive damage after being hit by a powerful attack.

Team Options

  • Add Choice Specs / Scarf with Trick here.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Opposing Grass-types cause major issues with their STAB moves. Some of these pokemon include Mega Venusaur, Serperior, Tangrowth, and Necturna. Tapu Bulu, mention how WoW can mess up the physical ones

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types are able to soak up both of Rotom-W’s damaging attacks and have little fear of being burnt due to most often being specially offensive. Examples

**Plasmanta**: Plasmanta cares little about Rotom-Wash due to its Electric typing and access to the ability Storm Drain. It completely walls Rotom-Wash and can easily check a physically defensive oriented Rotom-Wash

Add Electric-types like Zapdos and Krilowatt, merge with Plasmanta

Strong Wallbreakers section too
Implement the bolded comments, and I'll give it another look.

CAP Co-Leader
[OVERVIEW]

  • Rotom-Wash has access to not only a great typing that gives it 2 weaknesses and 5 resistances but also an ability that grants Rotom-Wash an immunity to Ground-type moves, one of its weaknesses. listing that it has 2 weaknesses and 5 resistances is really doesn't mean anything. it also has one weakness because it can only have Levitate. don't make it confusing for new people. Just say something like "Rotom-W has one weakness factoring in Levitate"
  • It also comes equipped with the move Volt Switch, a decent Special Attack stat and a good amount of coverage. Why is this good? Listing out facts about the Pokemon don't mean anything if you don't link them to the metagame it's in. Volt Switch lets it pivot, Hydro Pump threatens out Ground-types that might want to switch in (this is all the coverage you'll need on Rotom-W tbh)
  • Because of these reasons Rotom-Wash can easily be splashed onto both voltturn and bulky offense oriented teams functioning as a decent pivot that is able to alleviate pressure explain what this means and gain momentum. What does Rotom-W check?
  • Rotom-Wash is a key way to gain momentum in most matches it is played in due to its access to Volt Switch. Already been stated above.
  • Rotom-Wash's only form of recovery is Pain Split which only has a positive affect when Rotom-Wash has less HP then the opposing Pokemon. This makes Pain Split an unreliable form of recovery. Pain Split is unreliable because you can't click it and get 50% of your health back. It also becomes less effective as the opponent's health goes down. However, Pain Split is good because most CAPs have really high HP. Implement these (word-for-word or not) into your Pain Split bullet.
  • Because Rotom-Wash has a base HP stat of 50 and an unreliable form of recovery it receives a lot of competition against other Volt Switch users such as Cyclohm and Krillowatt. The base HP stat of 50 stat is completely unrelated to compeitition with other Volt Switchers. Less reliable recovery / smaller coverage is what makes Cyclohm give it competition, less power / less speed / smaller coverage is what makes Krilowatt give it competition. However, Levitate and access to Will-O-Wisp is what sets it apart.

  • Cripple offensive threats and alleviate pressure explain what this means here too by using Will-O-Wisp. Will-O-Wisp will cut any physical attackers attack in half relieving a lot of pressure off of ones team. Burn also provides the opposing Pokemon with chip damage making it more easily KO'd later on. The last two statements of this bullet should be in moves. Explain when to use WoW, not what it does
  • Gain back momentum with Volt Switch after forcing a switch to keep the game in your favor. One should note however that Pokemon that are immune to Electric-type moves will not be affected by Volt Switch making it useless against that particular Pokemon.
  • Try to be conservative with HP as Rotom-Wash only has Pain Split for semi-reliable recovery. what does this mean? don't switch it into attacks?
  • By using Pain Split, Rotom-Wash is able to restore bits and pieces of its HP after losing HP. This allows it to more easily take on stronger threats such as Colossoil more easily by restoring HP and taking away from the opposing Pokemon. Explain that Rotom-W can actually beat Colossoil because of Pain Split

  • Pokemon with the move U-turn such as Mega Scizor, Syclant, and Volkraken are able to form a VoltTurn core with Rotom-Wash.

  • Sweepers and wallbreakers that are easily beaten by revenge killers often appreciate Rotom-Wash as a teammate. Why? Because it brings them in with a slow Voltturn? Examples include Landorus-Therian, Mega Gardevoir, and Zygarde.
  • Rotom-Wash resists most of the tiers Priority moves which makes it a valuable teammate for Pokemon that dislike being struck by priority. Examples are Landorus-Therian, Zygarde, and Mega Manectric Frailer things like Syclant fit better here
  • Pokemon that appreciate gained momentum and VoltTurn teams pair extremely well with Rotom-Wash. Pokemon such as Landorus-Therian, Magearna, Cyclohm, Mega Mawile, and Tapu Bulu.
  • Rotom-Wash provides its teammates with slow Volt Switch support meaning they can come in for free as long as Rotom-Wash is slower then the opposing Pokemon.
Add things that like bulky Grass-types lured in. Consolidate redundant points too.

  • Instead of using Pain Split, Rotom-Wash can run Rest in conjunction with Chesto Berry to fully restore its HP once per game. This is a more reliable form of recovery which guarantees Rotom-Wash back at full HP however, all prior momentum is lost as Rotom-Wash stays asleep for 2 turns. But you hold Chesto berry for a reason. Explain that after you use it, THEN Rest is mediocre.
  • Depending on your team, Thunder Wave can be run over Will-O-Wisp to cripple faster Pokemon. Thunder Wave should be used if your team is weak to most common wallbreakers and or sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Gardevoir, and Aurumoth.
  • Rotom-Wash can also run Trick and a choice item in order to choice lock threats on the opposing team. Choice sets can also add an element of surprise to the table. What would a Choice set run? Choice Specs, Volt Switch, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Trick?

**Grass-types**: Opposing Grass-types cause major issues with their STAB moves. Some of these pokemon include Mega Venusaur, Serperior, Tangrowth, and Necturna. Will-O-Wisp can pressure more physical attackers such as Tapu-Bulu, and Ferrothorn.

You didn't add the sections I asked you to add in the last check. Also flesh out this section please.
These changes need to be implemented before I can stamp QC. Being concise, merging points, and writing less fluff is honestly one of the things you need to work on. The content of the analysis needs to be facts that link Rotom-W to the metagame. If you want to work with me on one of your checks, I'd be happy to work with you on a ppad.

Hey Broken Phobias,

How're you doing? With USUM out, we need to shift our priorities to the current metagame. Would you be willing to update and finish Rotom-W for USUM CAP?
Yes I'll re look it over and change what needs to be fixed. I should be able to just fit Defog in on its moveset without making or mentioning another one.

I also forgot to mention this, but we'll be reverting the analysis back to QC 0/3 to ensure it's up to date with the current metagame. If you still want the analysis, I'll get back to you in the next couple days on any major changes needed.
