[OVERVIEW]
With a great typing that helps cancel out its own weaknesses, an amazing array of stats, solid coverage options, and a useful ability in Rough Skin, Garchomp is a highly versatile Pokemon with excellent offensive and defensive capabilities. It can either be a terrifying wallbreaker with a nearly unresisted STAB combination, useful coverage, and an above average Speed tier, or it can excel as a tank with the ability to set up Stealth Rock easily thanks to the pressure it places with Toxic on Defoggers like Tornadus-T and access to a powerful uninvested Earthquake. However, Garchomp's offensive sets struggle due to unreliable nature of Scale Shot: it has poor accuracy, an inconsistent number of hits, (AC) and can be blocked by Fairy-type Pokemon. Its Stealth Rock-setting capabilities are also hampered by it being easy for Corviknight to use Defog on, and its defensive role is also under heavy competition from Landorus-T due to Landorus-T's access to utility moves like Defog, Knock Off, and U-turn. Garchomp also struggles in longer games due to its lack of reliable recovery, leaving it vulnerable to chip damage from Pokemon it wishes to check like Heatran and Zapdos thanks to Magma Storm and Toxic.

Set Description
=========

Garchomp's sweeping potential is put on full display thanks to the combination of Swords Dance and a near unresisted STAB combination, as well as a number of useful options to let it pick its own checks and counters. Scale Shot's ability to boost Garchomp's Speed allows it to outspeed the majority of its revenge killers and sweep opposing teams. Aqua Tail helps Garchomp take down the likes of Landorus-T and Air Balloon Heatran. Fire Fang is used to hit Corviknight and Skarmory, as they ignore Garchomp's moves otherwise. Leftovers helps boost Garchomp's longevity, letting it take Heatran's Magma Storm more easily and avoid a 2HKO from specially defensive Landorus-T. Life Orb Garchomp trades its longevity for explosive damage, giving it a guaranteed OHKO on Calm Mind Clefable, Urshifu-R, and Ferrothorn, as well as Tapu Fini after Stealth Rock damage and a Swords Dance boost. Lum Berry and Roseli Berry are also solid options, as the former helps block status from Landorus-T and Hippowdon's Toxic and Rotom-Wash's Will-O-Wisp, while the latter helps prevent Garchomp from being revenge killed by Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele.

Team Options
========

Swords Dance Garchomp is most commonly seen on offensive teams that love its ability to wallbreak or hyper offense teams that can support its full sweep. Pokemon that love Garchomp's ability to smash through teams and pressure Flying-type Pokemon, like Kartana and Urshifu-R, fit excellently with it, pressuring Flying-types like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Zapdos to help overwhelm them. Urshifu-R also baits Toxapex in for Garchomp to take advantage of. Steel-type Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Melmetal, and Heatran switch in on and take out Fairy-types like Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko, allowing Garchomp to set up more easily without their presence. All three function as excellent Rillaboom and Weavile answers, while Heatran and Melmetal can also help overwhelm sturdy Garchomp checks like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Tapu Fini. Magnezone is an excellent teammate, as its ability to trap and remove Skarmory and Corviknight is amazing for Garchomp. Slowbro has excellent synergy with Garchomp, as Garchomp is able to break through annoying Pokemon like Zapdos and Zeraora for it, while Slowbro can effectively handle Urshifu-R and Barraskewda and bring Garchomp in safely for setup opportunities with Teleport. Partners on hyper offense teams like Mew and Life Orb Weavile can break through Garchomp's defensive answers like Landorus-T, Zapdos, Corviknight, Skarmory, and Slowbro, making it easier for it to sweep. Weavile in particular is excellent, as it can easily break through these Pokemon with a Swords Dance boost while checking Rillaboom with Ice Shard. Dual screens setters like Alolan Ninetales help make setting up with Garchomp easier and enable a potential sweep.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Substitute can be used in tandem with Leftovers on Swords Dance Garchomp to give it turns to set up on a free switch, as well as the ability to save itself from revenge killing attempts. Specially defensive Garchomp can utilize Roar to phaze threatening Pokemon like Landorus-T and Zapdos, forcing them to take more chip damage from Stealth Rock, though this means it has to lose either Toxic, Protect, (ac) or important coverage. Rest gives Garchomp the ability to fully recover its health and heal itself from any status, shutting down plans to wear Garchomp down with Toxic, but it puts Garchomp to sleep, making it an incredibly risky move that leaves Garchomp vulnerable byto opposing Pokemon. Stealth Rock is an option on Swords Dance sets due to how well they are able to pressure common Defog users like Landorus-T, but this means that Garchomp has to drop its coverage option, which leaves it open to more counterplay. Faster sets with Rocky Helmet are also valuable, sacrificing the longevity of Leftovers in favor of punishing physical attackers like Melmetal and Urshifu-R and U-turn from Tornadus-T and Landorus-T.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: Bulky Fairy-types like Tapu Fini and Clefable can be difficult to handle, as they can tank most hits from Garchomp and threaten it back with a powerful Moonblast, though they can be overwhelmed by Swords Dance sets and, more importantly, ones that run Life Orb. While their Dragon immunity can prevent Garchomp from getting off a Scale Shot, this is an unreliable method of counterplay due to Garchomp's ability to predict this and go for Earthquake instead. Tapu Koko, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, and Alolan Ninetales are also solid checks to Garchomp when paired with Pokemon immune to Earthquake, forcing it to choose correctly and then outspeeding and forcing it out.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Walls like Slowbro, Hippowdon, and Buzzwole can consistently come in on Garchomp if it lacks Toxic and threaten it with Scald or Ice Punch, scaring it out. Garchomp can, however, overwhelm these Pokemon with enough Swords Dance boosts.

**Corviknight and Skarmory**: With an immunity to Earthquake, a resistance to Scale Shot, and the ability to use IronPress to wall it, Corviknight and Skarmory are some of the sturdiest checks to Garchomp in the tier. Even outside of IronPress, Corviknight can use U-turn to pivot out into a revenge killer safely as well as freely using Defog on bulky Garchomp, with Pressure stalling its Stealth Rock PP, and Skarmory can use Toxic to help slowly whittle Garchomp down. These two Pokemon are extremely difficult for any Garchomp set that does not have Fire Blast to deal with; however, Fire Blast sets scare Skarmory away and force Corviknight to use its Roost PP.

**Revenge Killers**: Pokemon such as Weavile, Rillaboom, and Choice Scarf Kartana all have the ability to get rid of Swords Dance Garchomp sets, especially after a Scale Shot and some minor chip damage. Weavile and Rillaboom in particular are scary due to their ability to scare out tank Garchomp , thanks to the former's 4x super effective STAB moves, notably Ice Shard as a priority move, and the latter's Grassy Surge weakening Earthquake and making Grassy Glide a powerful priority attack. Dragapult is able to naturally outspeed unboosted Garchomp and consistently threatens to OHKO any variant of it with Draco Meteor or Dragon Darts.

[OVERVIEW]

With a great typing and Attack stat (Since we're in generation 8 and not 9, Garchomp doesn't just have a great Attack stat: its HP and Special Defence have given rise to specially defensive sets, while its Speed was still considered to be amazing for such a bulky and strong Pokemon. I think rewriting this sentence into something that explains why its typing is so great, e.g. Dragon and Ground cancel out a lot of their weaknesses individually, as well as how Garchomp is an incredible stat stick would be nice.), solid coverage and a useful ability in Rough Skin, Garchomp is a highly versatile Pokemon with excellent offensive and defensive capabilities like wallbreaking, setting Stealth Rock and keeping plenty of offensive threats in check with its bulk (this is a bit clunky, not to mention that you mention the same things later on). Garchomp can either be a terrifying wallbreaker with a nearly unresisted STAB combo, as well as its useful coverage, and above average Speed tier, or can also excel as a tank option, being able to set up Stealth Rock while dealing hefty damage with its powerful uninvested Earthquake and access to Toxic that threatens many of the tier's Defog options (I want you to rewrite this as this sentence has a number of grammatical flaws outside of being difficult to read). Despite Garchomp's key strengths, it is far from invincible (I get what you're trying to say here and I think that a writer should be able to express themselves in an analysis, but no Pokemon is invincible: use a different term like 'has its flaws', 'has weaknesses that hold it back from xxx', etc). Garchomp's offensive sets struggle due to the unreliable nature of Scale Shot due to the poor accuracy, inconsistent number of hits and Fairy-type Pokemon being able to block it. while iIt's (pay attention to your apostrophes) Stealth Rock setting capabilities can sometimes be made difficult due to Garchomp being easy to Defog on by Corviknight and Landorus-T (It's really only Corviknight that blanks Garchomp as a Defogger, focus on how this creates inconsistency as Corviknight is one of the premier Defoggers in the metagame. Also, the highlighted part is just grammatically incorrect.), with the latter competing with it in iIt's defensive role is also under heavy competition from Landorus-T due to the latter's access to utility moves like Defog, Knock Off, and U-turn and Ground-type immunity (very rarely is this actually an issue as Garchomp's dual typing gives it nifty advantages over Landorus-T, the main thing that the latter has over Garchomp is its access to the aforementioned utility moves). Garchomp also struggles in longer games due to a its lack of reliable recovery, leaving it vulnerable to chip damage from Pokemon it wishes to check like Heatran and Zapdos (How do they accumulate chip damage on Garchomp? Mention them, e.g. Toxic.).

(You can refer to Spelling and Grammar Standards to avoid the same grammatical/sentence structure mistakes in the future :tyke:)

Garchomp's sweeping potential is put on full display thanks to the combination of Swords Dance and a near unresisted STAB combination, as well as a number of useful options to diversify itself and pick its own checks and counters. Scale Shot's ability to boost Garchomp's speed is the focus of the set, allowing it to outspeed a the majority of it's revenge killers and effectively sweep opposing teams. Aqua Tail helps Garchomp take down the likes of Landorus-T and Air Balloon Heatran, as well as hitting Hippowdon for solid damage (Life Orb Garchomp has a roll to OHKO Hippowdon with Earthquake at +2). Fire Fang is used to 2HKO hit Corviknight, Ferrothorn and Skarmory after a Swords Dance (you can write about how they don't mind Garchomp's STAB moves otherwise, also Ferrothorn isn't really a SD Garchomp check as it dislikes taking boosted Earthquakes). Leftovers help boost Garchomp's longevity, letting it take Heatran's Magma Storm easier and gives it the ability to avoid a 2HKO from SpDef Landorus-T. Life Orb Garchomp sacrifices it's ability to stay around for longer (longevity works here) and trades it for explosive damage, giving it a guaranteed OHKO on Calm Mind Clefable, Urshifu-R and Ferrothorn, as well as an OHKO on Tapu Fini after Stealth Rock damage after a Swords Dance boost. Lum Berry and Roseli Berry are also solid options, as the prior former helps block status from Toxic Landorus-T and Hippowdon and Rotom-Wash's Will-O-Wisp while the latter can help prevent Garchomp from being revenge killed from Tapu Koko, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele and Clefable (Clefable is not a revenge killer).

Team Options
========

Swords Dance Garchomp is most commonly seen on offensive teams that love its ability to wallbreak, or hyper offense teams that can support its full sweep. Pokemon that love Garchomp's ability to smash through teams and pressure Flying-type Pokemon, like Kartana and Urshifu-R fit excellently with it, who can in turn beat down Garchomp's checks like Landorus-T and Hippowdon (As mentioned earlier, Hippowdon is not a Garchomp check. Garchomp and these two collectively pressure Flying-types like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Zapdos to overwhelm them). Urshifu-R also baits Toxapex in for Garchomp to take advantage of. Steel-type Pokemon like Magnezone Ferrothorn, Melmetal and Heatran are able to switch in on and take out Fairy-types like Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko (Magnezone is more of an offensive Steel-type), allowing Garchomp to set up easier with their presence gone. Melmetal and physically defensive Heatran All three both function as excellent Rillaboom and Weavile answers, as well as Assault Vest Melmetal and specially defensive Heatran being are solid Tapu Lele checks. Melmetal while Heatran and Melmetal can also help overwhelm sturdy Garchomp checks like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Tapu Fini. Magnezone in particular is an excellent teammate, as its ability to trap and significantly damage (remove is probably better here) Skarmory and Corviknight is amazing for Garchomp, as they are some of its biggest checks. Corviknight has excellent synergy with Garchomp, as Garchomp is able to break through annoying Pokemon like Zapdos, Heatran and Volcarona for it, while Corviknight can effectively handle revenge killers like Weavile, Choice Scarf Tapu Fini and Rillaboom. (Doesn't really work in practice since Choice Scarf Tapu Fini beats Corviknight and SD Garchomp doesn't like taking on Volcarona. Corviknight is also quite rare on offensive teams, so mention Pokemon like Slowbro, who can check Pokemon like Urshifu-R and Barraskewda for it while Garchomp can help out against Zapdos and Zeraora. Slowbro can also bring Garchomp in safely via Teleport to give it more setup opportunities.) Partners on hyper offense teams like Mew and Life Orb Weavile can break through Garchomp's defensive answers like Landorus-T and Slowbro, making it easier for it to sweep. (Mention screen setters like Alolan Ninetales for HO, as well as Life Orb Scizor as it can check Weavile and Rillaboom outside of being a secondary setup sweeper.)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Substitute can be used in tandem with Leftovers Swords Dance Garchomp to give it turns to set up on a free switch, as well as the ability to save itself from revenge killing attempts. Specially Defensive Garchomp can utilisze (American spelling is used in Smogon analyses) Roar to phasze out threatening Pokemon like Landorus-T and Zapdos, forcing them to take more chip damage from Stealth Rock, though this means it has to lose either Toxic, Protect or important coverage. Rest gives Garchomp the ability to fully recover its health and heals it from any status, shutting down plans to wear Garchomp down with Toxic, but puts itself to sleep, being an incredibly risky move that leaves Garchomp vulnerable by opposing Pokemon. (Mention fast helmet + rocks and SD rocks sets)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: Bulky Fairy-types like Tapu Fini and Clefable can be difficult for Tank Garchomp to handle as they are given free entry on Stealth Rock can tank most hits from Garchomp and threaten it back with a powerful Moonblast, though they must be weary of can be overwhelmed by Swords Dance sets and more importantly ones that run Life Orb. While their Dragon immunity can prevent Garchomp from getting off a Scale Shot, it is an unreliable method of counterplay due to Garchomp's power and the fact that revenge killers need a safer entry point (I don't quite understand this, just mention how Garchomp can predict this by clicking Earthquake). Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, and Ninetales-A are also solid checks to Garchomp with their ability to check Garchomp when paired with Flying-types that can take care of potential Eathquake by blocking Scale Shot. (you should probably say how they can also somewhat play the Scale Shot/Earthquake game when paired with Pokemon that are immune to Earthquake while being able to outspeed and force Garchomp out, although make sure that it's Choice Scarf Tapu Lele)

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Walls like Slowbro, Hippowdon and Buzzwole an consistently come in on Garchomp if it lacks Toxic and can threaten it with status like Toxic or a Scald burn (it's really Scald and Ice Punch), and scareing it out unless it already has used Swords Dance. (just write about the deleted part after this sentence by talking about how Garchomp can overwhelm the two with enough boosts)

**Corviknight and Skarmory**: With the ability to easily switch into Garchomp's dual STAB combo (I personally think that it's better to say how they're immune to Earthquake and resist Scale Shot, but it's up to you) and set up with the combination of Iron Defense and Body Press to wall it, Corviknight and Skarmory are some of the sturdiest checks to Garchomp in the tier. Even outside of Iron Defense and Body Press, Corviknight can U-turn out into a revenge killer safely as well as freely using Defog on bulky Garchomp, as well as Pressure stall its Stealth Rock PP, and Skarmory can use Whirlwind to send Garchomp away (Toxic Skarmory is probably more common than Whirlwind, mention that instead). These two Pokemon are extremely difficult for any Garchomp set that does not have Fire Blast, so they do have to be careful of that (it's only Skarmory that's afraid of Fire Blast - Corviknight has pretty good special bulk and Fire Blast just forces it to Roost a couple of times).

**Revenge Killers**: Pokemon such as Weavile, Rillaboom and Choice Scarf Kartana all have the ability to get rid of Swords Dance Garchomp sets, especially after a Scale Shot and some minor chip. Weavile and Rillaboom in particular are scary due to their ability to scare out Tank Garchomp as well, thanks to the former's quad-super effective STAB, notably Ice Shard as priority, and the latter's Grassy Surge, weakening Earthquake and making Grassy Glide a powerful priority attack.

(I think that Dragapult is worth a mention as it naturally outspeeds unboosted Garchomp and threatens to OHKO any variant with Draco Meteor or Dragon Darts)

[OVERVIEW]
With a great typing that helps cancel out its own weaknesses, an amazing array of stats, solid coverage options, (AC) and a useful ability in Rough Skin, Garchomp is a highly versatile Pokemon with excellent offensive and defensive capabilities. Garchomp can either be a terrifying wallbreaker with a nearly unresisted STAB combo, useful coverage, and above average Speed tier, or it can excel as a tank with the ability to set up Stealth Rock easily thanks to the pressure it places on the tier's Defog options like Tornadus-T thanks to Toxic and access to a powerful uninvested Earthquake. Despite Garchomp's strengths, it still has flaws. Garchomp's offensive sets struggle due to unreliable nature of Scale Shot: it has with its poor accuracy, an inconsistent number of hits, (AC) and can being blocked by Fairy-type Pokemon. Its Stealth Rock setting capabilities can be made difficult due to Garchomp being easy to Defog on by Corviknight, and its defensive role is also under heavy competition from Landorus-T due to the latter'sits access to utility moves like Defog, Knock Off, and U-turn. Garchomp also struggles in longer games due to its lack of reliable recovery, leaving it vulnerable to chip damage from Pokemon it wishes to check like Heatran and Zapdos through chip damage thanks to Magma Storm and Toxic.

Set Description

Garchomp's sweeping potential is put on full display thanks to the combination of Swords Dance and a near unresisted STAB combination, as well as a number of useful options to pick its own checks and counters. Scale Shot's ability to boost Garchomp's speed is the focus of the set, allowingallows removed to reduce fluff it to outspeed the majority of it'sits revenge killers and (two spaces here)sweep opposing teams. Aqua Tail helps Garchomp take down the likes of Landorus-T and Air Balloon Heatran. Fire Fang is used to hit Corviknight and Skarmory as they are able to ignore Garchomp's moves otherwise. Leftovers help boost Garchomp's longevity, letting it take Heatran's Magma Storm easier and gives it the ability to avoid a 2HKO from SpDef Landorus-T. Life Orb Garchomp sacrifices it'sits longevity and trades it for explosive damage, giving it a guaranteed OHKO on Calm Mind Clefable, Urshifu-R and Ferrothorn, as well as an OHKO on Tapu Fini after Stealth Rock damage after a Swords Dance boost. Lum Berry and Roseli Berry are also solid options, as the former helps block status from Toxic Landorus-T and Hippowdon and Rotom-Wash's Will-O-Wisp while the latter can help prevent Garchomp from being revenge killed from Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele.

Team Options
========

Swords Dance Garchomp is most commonly seen on offensive teams that love its ability to wallbreak, or hyper offense teams that can support its full sweep. Pokemon that love Garchomp's ability to smash through teams and pressure Flying-type Pokemon, like Kartana and Urshifu-R fit excellently with it, pressuring Flying-types like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Zapdos to help overwhelm them. Urshifu-R also baits Toxapex in for Garchomp to take advantage of. Steel-type Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Melmetal and Heatran are able to switch in on and take out Fairy-types like Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko, allowing Garchomp to set up easier with their presence gone. All three function as excellent Rillaboom and Weavile answers, while Heatran and Melmetal can also help overwhelm sturdy Garchomp checks like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Tapu Fini. Magnezone (two spaces here) is an excellent teammate, as its ability to trap and remove Skarmory and Corviknight is amazing for Garchomp. Slowbro (two spaces here) Slowbro has excellent synergy with Garchomp, as Garchomp is able to break through annoying Pokemon like Zapdos and Zeraora for it, while Slowbro can effectively handle Urshifu-R and Barraskewda while bringing Garchomp in safely for setup opportunities with Teleport. Partners on hyper offense teams like Mew and Life Orb Weavile can break through Garchomp's defensive answers like Landorus-T, Zapdos, Corviknight, Skarmory, (AC) and Slowbro, making it easier for it to sweep. Weavile in particular is excellent as it can easily break through these Pokemon with a Swords Dance boost while checking Rillaboom with Ice Shard. ScreenDual screens setters like Alolan Ninetales help make setting up with Garchomp easier and enabling a potential sweep.

Other Options

Substitute can be used in tandem with Leftovers on Swords Dance Garchomp to give it turns to set up on a free switch, as well as the ability to save itself from revenge killing attempts. Specially Defensive Garchomp can utilize Roar to phaze out threatening Pokemon like Landorus-T and Zapdos, forcing them to take more chip damage from Stealth Rock, though this means it has to lose either Toxic, Protect, (ac) or important coverage. Rest gives Garchomp the ability to fully recover its health and heals itself from any status, shutting down plans to wear Garchomp down with Toxic, but puts itself to sleep, being an incredibly risky move that leaves Garchomp vulnerable byto opposing Pokemon. Stealth Rock is an option on Swords Dance sets due to how well they are able to pressure common Defog users like Landorus-T, but this means that Garchomp has to drop its coverage option which leaves it open to more counter (remove space)play. Faster sets with Rocky Helmet are also valuable, sacrificing the longevity of Leftovers in favor of punishing physical attackers like Melmetal and Urshifu-R and U-turn from Tornadus-T and Landorus-T.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: Bulky Fairy-types like Tapu Fini and Clefable can be difficult to handle as they can tank most hits from Garchomp and threaten it back with a powerful Moonblast, though they can be overwhelmed by Swords Dance sets and more importantly ones that run Life Orb. While their Dragon immunity can prevent Garchomp from getting off a Scale Shot, it is an unreliable method of counterplay due to Garchomp's ability to predict this and go for Earthquake instead. Tapu Koko, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, and Ninetales-AAlolan Ninetales are also solid checks to Garchomp with their ability to check Garchomp removed because its restating what was just said about them being checks when paired with Pokemon immune to Earthquake, forcing it to choose correctly while outspeeding and forcing Garchomp out.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Walls like Slowbro, Hippowdon, (AC) and Buzzwole can consistently come in on Garchomp if it lacks Toxic and can threaten it with Scald or Ice Punch, not a gp thing but hippo doesn't get either of those moves scaring it out. Garchomp can however overwhelm these Pokemon with enough Swords Dance boosts.

**Corviknight and Skarmory**: With an immunity to Earthquake, resistance to Scale Shot and the ability to use the combination of Iron Defense and Body Press to wall it, Corviknight and Skarmory are some of the sturdiest checks to Garchomp in the tier. Even outside of Iron Defense and Body Press, Corviknight can U-turn out into a revenge killer safely as well as freely using Defog on bulky Garchomp, with Pressure stalling its Stealth Rock PP, and Skarmory can use Toxic to help slowly whittle Garchomp down. These two Pokemon are extremely difficult for any Garchomp set that does not have Fire Blast, however Fire Blast sets scare scaring Skarmory away or forcing and force Corviknight to use its Roost PP.

**Revenge Killers**: Pokemon such as Weavile, Rillaboom, (AC) and Choice Scarf Kartana all have the ability to get rid of Swords Dance Garchomp sets, especially after a Scale Shot and some minor chip. Weavile and Rillaboom in particular are scary due to their ability to scare out Tank Garchomp as well, thanks to the former's 4x effective STAB, notably Ice Shard as priority, and the latter's Grassy Surge, weakening Earthquake and making Grassy Glide a powerful priority attack. Scale Shot's ability to boost Garchomp's speed is the focus of the set, allowing Speed allows removed to reduce fluff (also remember to capitalize stat names) it to outspeed the majority of it'sits revenge killers and (two spaces here)sweep opposing teams. Aqua Tail helps Garchomp take down the likes of Landorus-T and Air Balloon Heatran. Fire Fang is used to hit Corviknight and Skarmory, (AC- use a comma before "as" and "since" when they're used like "because") as they are able to ignore Garchomp's moves otherwise. Leftovers help helps (items are always treated as singular, even naturally plural items like Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots) boost Garchomp's longevity, letting it take Heatran's Magma Storm easier more easily and gives it the ability to (redundant + parallelism) avoid a 2HKO from SpDef specially defensive Landorus-T. Life Orb Garchomp sacrifices it's longevity and trades it its longevity (trades is redundant with sacrifices) for explosive damage, giving it a guaranteed OHKO on Calm Mind Clefable, Urshifu-R, (AC- smogon uses the serial/oxford comma) and Ferrothorn, as well as an OHKO on (redundant) Tapu Fini after Stealth Rock damage after and (repetition) a Swords Dance boost. Lum Berry and Roseli Berry are also solid options, as the former helps block status from Toxic Landorus-T and Hippowdon's Toxic (parallelism) and Rotom-Wash's Will-O-Wisp, (AC- use a comma before while when being used comparatively, like "on the other hand") while the latter can help helps (parallelism) prevent Garchomp from being revenge killed from by Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele.

Team Options
========

Swords Dance Garchomp is most commonly seen on offensive teams that love its ability to wallbreak (RC- "or" is a coordinating conjunction, so should only put a comma before it when an independent clause/complete sentence follows) or hyper offense teams that can support its full sweep. Pokemon that love Garchomp's ability to smash through teams and pressure Flying-type Pokemon, like Kartana and Urshifu-R, (AC- examples should either have commas fully surrounding them or no commas) fit excellently with it, pressuring Flying-types like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Zapdos to help overwhelm them. Urshifu-R also baits Toxapex in for Garchomp to take advantage of. Steel-type Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Melmetal, (AC) and Heatran are able to switch in on and take out Fairy-types like Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko, allowing Garchomp to set up easier with more easily without their presence gone ("with their presence gone" doesn't really work). All three function as excellent Rillaboom and Weavile answers, while Heatran and Melmetal can also help overwhelm sturdy Garchomp checks like Corviknight, Skarmory, and Tapu Fini. Substitute can be used in tandem with Leftovers on Swords Dance Garchomp to give it turns to set up on a free switch, as well as the ability to save itself from revenge killing attempts. Specially Defensive defensive (set titles aren't capitalized, same with phrases that merely reference stats like specially defensive, physically bulky, etc) Garchomp can utilize Roar to phaze out (just phaze- phaze = pseudo-haze, not used like "phase") threatening Pokemon like Landorus-T and Zapdos, forcing them to take more chip damage from Stealth Rock, though this means it has to lose either Toxic, Protect, (ac) or important coverage. Rest gives Garchomp the ability to fully recover its health and heals itself from any status, shutting down plans to wear Garchomp down with Toxic, but it (coordinating conjunction, so needs an independent clause to have a comma) puts itself Garchomp (subject here is "Rest", so Rest doesn't put itself to sleep) to sleep, being making it an incredibly risky move that leaves Garchomp vulnerable byto opposing Pokemon. Stealth Rock is an option on Swords Dance sets due to how well they are able to pressure common Defog users like Landorus-T, but this means that Garchomp has to drop its coverage option, (AC- which is used with nonessential info and always has a comma beforehand. "that" is its counterpart and is used with essential info without a comma being necessary) which leaves it open to more counter (remove space)play. Faster sets with Rocky Helmet are also valuable, sacrificing the longevity of Leftovers in favor of punishing physical attackers like Melmetal and Urshifu-R and U-turn from Tornadus-T and Landorus-T.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: Bulky Fairy-types like Tapu Fini and Clefable can be difficult to handle, (AC) as they can tank most hits from Garchomp and threaten it back with a powerful Moonblast, though they can be overwhelmed by Swords Dance sets and, (AC- transition phrase mid-sentence, needs commas surrounding) more importantly, (AC) ones that run Life Orb. While their Dragon immunity can prevent Garchomp from getting off a Scale Shot, it this is an unreliable method of counterplay due to Garchomp's ability to predict this and go for Earthquake instead. Tapu Koko, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, and Ninetales-AAlolan Ninetales are also solid checks to Garchomp with their ability to check Garchomp removed because its restating what was just said about them being checks when paired with Pokemon immune to Earthquake, forcing it to choose correctly while and then (not simultaneous) outspeeding and forcing Garchomp it out.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Walls like Slowbro, Hippowdon, (AC) and Buzzwole can consistently come in on Garchomp if it lacks Toxic and can threaten it with Scald or Ice Punch, not a gp thing but hippo doesn't get either of those moves (good catch) scaring it out. Garchomp can, (AC- transition word again) however, (AC) overwhelm these Pokemon with enough Swords Dance boosts.

**Corviknight and Skarmory**: With an immunity to Earthquake, a ("an" doesn't apply to full list, so needs to be added here) resistance to Scale Shot, (AC) and the ability to use the combination of Iron Defense and Body Press IronPress (accepted move combination, so mandatory usage) to wall it, Corviknight and Skarmory are some of the sturdiest checks to Garchomp in the tier. Even outside of Iron Defense and Body Press IronPress, Corviknight can use U-turn to pivot out into a revenge killer safely as well as freely using Defog on bulky Garchomp, with Pressure stalling its Stealth Rock PP, and Skarmory can use Toxic to help slowly whittle Garchomp down. These two Pokemon are extremely difficult for any Garchomp set that does not have Fire Blast to deal with; (comma > semicolon) however, Fire Blast sets scare scaring (good instinct with the however fix- not sufficient to link two independent clauses on its own though, needs a semicolon and comma after it) Skarmory away or forcing and force Corviknight to use its Roost PP.

**Revenge Killers**: Pokemon such as Weavile, Rillaboom, (AC) and Choice Scarf Kartana all have the ability to get rid of Swords Dance Garchomp sets, especially after a Scale Shot and some minor chip damage (chip is never used as a noun on its own, always needs damage). Weavile and Rillaboom in particular are scary due to their ability to scare out Tank tank Garchomp as well, thanks to the former's 4x super effective STAB moves (STAB is an adjective, not a noun- normally needs nouns to modify like "moves", "combination", "types", etc), notably Ice Shard as a priority move, and the latter's Grassy Surge (RC) weakening Earthquake and making Grassy Glide a powerful priority attack. Dragapult is able to naturally outspeed unboosted Garchomp and consistently threatens to OHKO any variant of it with Draco Meteor or Dragon Darts.
