[OVERVIEW]

Water
========

* Mega Sharpedo is an amazing late game sweeper on Water teams thanks to its amazing Attack and Speed stats, and having access to Speed Boost then Mega Evolving to gain Strong Jaw.
* Prior to Mega Evolving, regular Sharpedo has access to Speed Boost allowing it to late game sweep.
* After Mega Evolving, Mega Sharpedo's STAB Crunch and coverage moves in Ice Fang and Psychic Fangs get a increase in damage output thanks to Strong Jaw
* Mega Sharpedo sits at an amazing speed tier, allowing it to out speed threats without Speed Boost such as Volcarona, Mew and Landorus
* Mega Sharpedo's defensive stats are very low, making it easily revenge killed by things like Mach Punch Breloom and Infernape.
* In order to successfully sweep, the opposing team should be weakened for Mega Sharpedo.
* Because of Speed Boost before Mega Evolving, Sharpedo is forced to run Protect which requires you to lose a slow for a coverage move in Ice Fang or Psychic Fangs.
* Mega Sharpedo faces competition with Mega Gyarados, Mega Swampert, and Mega Slowbro as the Mega slot.

* Maximum Attack allows you to increase Sharpedos overall damage output.
* Sharpedonite is needed in order to allow Sharpedo to Mega Evolve.
* Speed Boost on regular Sharpedo prior to Mega Evolving is needed to boost its Speed.

Usage Tips
========

* Mega Sharpedo is a great late-game sweeper and should utilize Protect for Speed Boosts prior to Mega Evolving and sweep teams that are already weakened.
* Even though you lose Speed Boost after Mega Evolving, Mega Sharpedo sits at an amazing Speed Tier allowing it to outspeed things like Garchomp and Zapdos.
*
*

Team Options
========

* Swampert, Toxapex, and Empoleon can all set up entry hazards, making it easier for Mega Sharpedo to late-game sweep.
* Hazard removers like Starmie, Mantine, and Tentacruel help prevent Sharpedo from taking chip damage when switched in.

Checks and Counters
===================

Water
--------
**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Ferrothorn and Mega Venusaur can take a hit and in return cripple it with an attack or status.

**Priority users**: Breloom and Infernape OHKO Mega Sharpedo with Mach Punch. Other priority users such as Extreme Speed Dragonite and Quick Attack Diggersby can do serious damage.

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Azumarill and Clefable can take a hit and return a STAB boosted move.

**Faster threats**: Choice Scarf users that force Sharpedo to reach +2 generally resorts to it double protecting which has a low success rate. Choice Scarf users such as Terrakion, Gengar and Latios outspeed Jolly Mega Sharpedo after one Speed Boost.
