Dragon Dance allows Kommo-o to boost its attacking stats, with its advantages over Clangorous Soulblaze being that it cannot be blocked by Fairy-types, can be used more than once, and potentially frees up Kommo-o's item slot for alternate Z-Crystals. Close Combat is a strong STAB option that lets Kommo-o hit neutral targets for the highest possible damage. Ice Punch is a good coverage option that allows Kommo-o to hit Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Garchomp on their 4x weakness to Ice, as well as taking out other chipped Ice-weak targets like Tornadus-T and Mega Latias. When holding Groundium Z, Kommo-o can use Dragon Dance as Magearna or Toxapex is lured in and OHKO its switch-in on the next turn with Tectonic Rage. Alternatively, it can wield Poisonium Z to KO Tapu Fini and Clefable with a +1 Acid Downpour and Tapu Bulu with a +1 Poison Jab. Additionally, it can use a combination of Poison Jab followed by Acid Downpour to KO Unaware Clefable. Another option is Kommonium Z, combining the boosts of both Dragon Dance and Clangorous Soulblaze to increase Kommo-o's stats to an incredibly threatening level, as well as hitting physically defensive Pokemon like Landorus-T and Rotom-W on their weaker Special Defense.

A Speed-boosting nature lets Kommo-o outspeed Timid Heatran and Gyarados, as well as Mega Lopunny at +1. When using the Kommonium Z variant, a Hasty nature is preferred to maximize the damage output from Clanging Scales and Clangorous Soulblaze. 252 Attack EVs are used to give Kommo-o the best chance to KO Unaware Clefable with the combination of Poison Jab into Acid Downpour. Groundium Z variants do not require maximum Attack investment to KO their intended targets, so a spread of 40 HP / 216 Atk / 252 Spe can be used instead to allow Kommo-o to survive three Seismic Tosses. Bulletproof Kommo-o can check Blacephalon via its immunity to Shadow Ball, with its immunity to Ferrothorn's Gyro Ball also being beneficial. Soundproof is another option, as it gives Kommo-o an immunity to opposing Clangorous Soulblaze.

Usage Tips
========

Poisonium Z and Groundium Z Kommo-o can utilize their sets not being revealed as a lethal weapon, taking advantage of the opponent's fear of Clangorous Soulblaze to lure in and remove Fairy-types and Haze Toxapex, respectively. Kommonium Z Kommo-o, on the other hand, is best suited to late-game situations where opposing Fairy-types have either been removed or chipped into range of its other attacks. Kommo-o can use its typing to come in on Choice Specs Greninja to set up a Dragon Dance as Greninja switches out. It can also utilize its offensive presence to create setup opportunities, using both the fear of Close Combat that Fighting-weak Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Chansey may have and the fear of a potential Clangorous Soulblaze held by physically defensive Pokemon like Landorus-T. If there are no better targets, then Kommo-o can use its Z-Move against neutral targets such as Mega Medicham and Volcarona to net a KO it otherwise wouldn't. After Kommo-o's Z-Move is used up, its capability as a threat is reduced, so sacrificing it to get chip damage on defensive Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Rotom-W is a viable option. The Kommonium Z variant can take advantage of opponents attempting to sacrifice a Pokemon to Clangorous Soulblaze by using Dragon Dance first instead, with Kommo-o then outpacing the unboosted metagame, ready to use the anticipated Clangorous Soulblaze on the next turn and come away with an extra Attack and Speed boost, making it much harder to deal with.

Team Options
========

These Kommo-o variants generally fit on offense and hyper offense teams that appreciate Kommo-o's ability to remove defensive Pokemon using an unanticipated Z-Move. Good teammate choices for Kommo-o depend on which Z-Crystal it is holding. Groundium Z Kommo-o can take out Assault Vest Magearna, benefitting special attackers like Choice Specs Greninja, Serperior, and Mega Alakazam. Poisonium Z provides Kommo-o a way to remove Unaware Clefable, which is invaluable for hyper offense teams containing Pokemon like Hawlucha that have an incredibly hard time against it. The Kommonium Z variant of Kommo-o appreciates Ash-Greninja for its ability to draw in and weaken Assault Vest Magearna and Tapu Fini, as they fall into KO range of Kommo-o's boosted attacks from switching into repeated Choice Specs Hydro Pumps.
