Signups The Legend Gauntlet Mk. II (The Forces of Nature! Tornadus and Thundurus) [Ends Oct. 25]

:bw/arceus: The Legend Gauntlet :bw/arceus:

You already know how this works, right?

Format
The Legend Gauntlet is played in matches rather than games. The specific rules for these matches and the games within can be found below.

Match
A match is a composition of multiple games. A match is over when one trainer wins two games.
Both players send in a team of 4 Pokemon that will be used for all of the games in the match.

Game 1:
- The ref flips a coin to select who is "T1" and who is "T2"
- T1 strikes one of the five arenas
- T2 strikes two of the remaining four arenas
- T1 strikes one more arena
- The round is played on the remaining arena
- T1 sends out a pokemon first in the same post where they struck the final arena

Games 2+:
- The loser of the previous match decides whether they want to be T1 or T2 (if T1, the next step is done in the same post)
- T1 strikes one arena
- T2 picks one of the remaining arenas
- The round is played on the selected arena
- T2 sends out a pokemon first in the same post where they chose the arena.

Game
B4P2 Singles
72h DQ
Abilities: All
Backpack Size: 7
Switch: OK
Advanced Techniques: 1
Substitutions: 4
Recoveries: 2 per Pokemon
Chills: 5 per Pokemon
Arena: Variable
Special Rule #1: The game ends when a Pokemon is fainted. The trainer of the fainted Pokemon loses the game.

Finding Matches
Players will enter pools for the legends available in the current rotation. When a pool reaches four (4) players, they are randomly split into pairs by one of the refs. As soon as one pool fills for any given legend, a new one may begin.

Players may only enter one pool at a time, and they may not enter a pool if they are presently participating in another The Legend Gauntlet match.

Reffing
Refs may sign themselves up to ref a single match in a pool, or both matches if they wish. A ref may not sign up to ref another pool while signed up, or presently reffing a The Legend Gauntlet match UNLESS a full pool has been waiting for a ref(s) for three (3) days they may then ref im that pool.

Refs may not sign up for pools in which they are also a participant.

Entry Costs and Rewards
Entry into The Legend Gauntlet costs 6JC
The winner of a match receives the legendary Pokemon they entered the pool for at Level 3
Runners-up receive counters from the battles as they would typically in a Battle Tower game
Refs receive 4JC per battle, and RC equal to the number of Pokemon sent out across the entire match

Active Arenas

:bw/tornadus:
Bonechill Wastes

A vast wasteland with nothing but ice and snow. Large drifts have formed from the intense winds, acting as the only shelter from the cold... until the winds change direction that is. The frigid conditions are so unforgiving and primeval that you almost feel as if you've gone back in time to get here.

  • Default weather is Snow. (When the match begins, and when an active weather's duration expires, the weather is Snow until it is discarded)
  • Pokemon with a WC less than their SC, have an additional weakness to Ice and Flying.
  • Moves tagged #wind that do not already place frost markers on the defender gain the following
    text:
    • While the Weather is Snow: If this move would place Frost Markers on the defender; place one (1) additional marker on the defender rather than doubling the markers placed from the effect of Snow
On hit: Place two (2) Frost Markers on the defender.

Codifications
Camouflage: Ice-type
Nature Power: Icy Wind
Secret Power: Inflicts Silence

=======================================

Skyarrow Bridge

A gigantic suspension bridge on the outside of Castelia City, the largest city in the Unova region. The hustle and bustle from the city crosses the bridge to enter and exit constantly. Holding up traffic is a bad idea here, so make your moves quickly.

  • When a Pokemon attacks, increase the BAP of the attack by one (1) for every 20 Speed the user has, then decrease the BAP of the attack by one (1) for every 20 Speed the defender has. This effect cannot reduce the BAP of an attack to below its original BAP.
  • Attacks with a priority of one or higher (1+) have their Critical Hit stage increased by three (3)

Codifications
Camouflage: Steel-type
Nature Power: Shift Gear
Secret Power: Raise the user's Speed stage by two (2) for their next three (3) turns.

=======================================

Flocessy Ranch

Herds of Mareep can be found all around, eagerly watching battles in the ranch. The Wool Pokemon, while docile, contribute a huge amount of static electricity to everything that enters nearby. Be sure to find a way to discharge all of the electricity, or you may find things getting out of hand quickly.

  • Charge markers have the following additional text:
    • When the user attacks with a Super-Effective attack that is not Electric-type: Give that attack a power bonus of three (3); then transfer this marker to the defender.
  • At the end of each turn. If a Pokemon used a non-damaging action during this turn place one (1) Charge Marker on the user until they leave play.
  • If a Pokemon would have Paralysis Counters placed on it, instead place an equal number of Paralysis Counters and Charge Markers on that Pokemon [Charge Markers placed this way are placed until the Pokemon leaves play].

Codifications
Camouflage: Electric-type
Nature Power: Charge
Secret Power: Place two (2) Charge Markers on the user until they leave play.

=======================================

Mistralton City Airport

An airport largely used for the transport of cargo across the Unova region. Countless packages, supplying nearly every Pokemart, are sent from this relatively small area every day. Quotas need to be met to keep the whole system running smoothly, and employees often are rewarded for staying on pace.

  • At the end of each round, if a Pokemon is not holding an item their trainer may equip them with an item from their backpack. The trainer who will order second in the upcoming round may equip an item first in a post before any orders for the upcoming round. After that the trainer ordering first may equip an item with their orders and ordering proceeds as normal.
  • Pokemon have access to the command Ship Cargo

    Ship Cargo said:
    -- | Otherl | User | -- | -- | 5 EN | -- | Priority 0 | Combo Level: None | No Snatch
(Declare an item in your backpack when ordering this command, if no items were declared, or the item declared is not in your backpack, this command can't be attempted)

Remove the declared item from your backpack and place it in your opponent's backpack.
  • Active Pokemon are under the following effects depending on how many items their trainer has remaining in their backpack.
    • Six or Above (6+): When this Pokemon attacks, give that attack a power penalty of two (2)
    • Five or Below (5-): This Pokemon's Speed stage is increased by one (1)
    • Three or Below (3-): This Pokemon's Attack and Special Attack stages are increased by three (3)
    • One or Below (1-): When this Pokemon is attacked, the maximum Type Effectiveness Multiplier of that attack is one (1) [This Pokemon cannot be hit Super Effectively]

Codifications
Camouflage: Flying-type
Nature Power: Present
Secret Power: Add one (1) Iron Ball:iron ball: to the opponent's backpack

=======================================

Black City Rooftop

A sprawling metropolis with endless skyscrapers and other buildings. Curiously the sun never seems to rise here but the illumination from the lights of the city provide a neon glow to the entire area.

  • Dark-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2).
  • If Sun would be created, instead it is created with a duration of one (1) round rather than its typical duration.
  • At the end of each round, if a Pokemon used a combination with two component moves that each have the combo class "Luminous" this round, that Pokemon gains one Combo Token.

Codifications
Camouflage: Dark-type
Nature Power: Light Screen
Secret Power: Inflicts flinching

:bw/thundurus:
Sand's Reach

A reaching peninsula with five finger-like projections out into the water, evoking the image of a hand grasping into the depths. Standing in the palm of the hand all one can notice is the five distinct paths ahead. Despite the eerie sight, it can't be denied that this would be a beautiful and striking location to erect a settlement.

  • Pokemon's final stat ranks are rounded to the nearest five (5).
  • The Same-Type Attack Bonus portion of damage calculation raises attack power by five (5) instead of three (3).

Codifications
Camouflage: Water-type
Nature Power: Shore Up
Secret Power: Lowers the target's Speed stage by one (1) for their next five (5) turns.

=======================================

Driftveil Drawbridge

The pride of Driftveil City, this drawbridge is raised and lowered throughout the day to allow boats to pass You can see the bridge raised high in the air from miles away, highlighting why this is such an important symbol for people living in the city.

  • At the beginning of the round, if the round number is odd:
    • Discard any weather in play and create a unique weather named "Divine Winds" until the end of the round with the following effects:
      • This Weather can't be discarded, and other Weather can't be created
      • The Weather is unaffected by abilities
      • While tallying type effectiveness: The weaknesses of the Flying-type can't be tallied.
      • The item Barometer:dowsing machine: and the abilities Cloud Nine and Air Lock have no effect.
  • At the end of the round, if the round number is even:
    • All Pokemon that are holding an item are hit with the move Sky Attack from a Pokemon with an Attack Rank of 8. If both active Pokemon are holding an item at the end of the round, the slower of the two is hit with Sky Attack first.

Codifications
Camouflage: If the round number is odd - Flying-type | If the round number is even - Steel-type
Nature Power: If the round number is odd - Gust | If the round number is even - Gear Up
Secret Power: If the round number is odd - Inflict Hovering on the user for three (3) turns | If the round number is even - Inflict Grounded on the target for three (3) turns

=======================================

Chargestone Cave

A vast cave system filled with an eerie magnetic current. Certain Pokemon appear to be affected by the magnetic current more than others manifesting strange results.

  • Steel-type Pokemon are Hovering and are unaffected by Grounded.
  • Pokemon with a SC of two or below (2-) have the ability Plus in addition to their other abilities (even when inactive)
  • Pokemon with a WC of two or below (2-) have the ability Minus in addition to their other abilities (even when inactive)
  • Pokemon with a WC of four or above (4+) have an additional weakness to electric

Codifications
Camouflage: Rock-type
Nature Power: Magnetic Flux
Secret Power: Place two (2) charge counters on the user until they leave play

=======================================

Royal Unova Top Deck

A beautiful yacht often filled with trainers looking for either a challenge or a way to escape the typical routes. The large boat travels throughout the Unova Region allowing for a more leisurely form of travel as well. Stormy seas often make the battles that happen aboard particularly intense.

  • Default weather is Rain. (When the match begins, and when an active weather's duration expires, the weather is Rain until it is discarded)
  • Default terrain is Electric Terrain. (When the match begins, and when an active terrain's duration expires, the terrain is Electric Terrain until it is discarded)
  • Once per round per Pokemon, after a Pokemon successfully executes a move with the tag #wind that Pokemon immediately calls and attempts the move surf.

Codifications
Camouflage: Water-type
Nature Power: Aqua Cutter
Secret Power: Inflicts Paralysis with two (2) counters

=======================================

White Forest Canopy

This well preserved patch of old growth has grown so massive that the inhabitants here have learned to live at all levels of the forest. The trees here are connected in a massive root system sharing nutrients and water.

  • Grass-type attacks have their BAP increased two (2)
  • All Pokemon in play are Grounded
  • At the end of each round, if a Pokemon used a combination with two component moves that each have the combo class "Material" that round, that Pokemon gains one Combo Token.

Codifications
Camouflage: Grass-type
Nature Power: Power Whip
Secret Power: Lower the target's Attack stage by one (1) for their next five (5) turns.

Please adjust your send-in as necessary. This change will be in effect for any more Tornadus pools that run as well.

Hi all, just coming in with another update.

There has been a trend of sometimes doing "casual calcs" by refs for the last round of games throughout BBP often just with a statement or a roll without showing anything further.

In TLG I would like to kindly request that you please show full calculations for the entirety of the match. The legends want to see the full scope of battle!

Thank you! And happy legend hunting!
