This is my first warstory. I ended up playing leaderboard player psycho trying out his new team and we both valiantly fought.

My team:

psycho sent out Ambipom (lvl 100 Ambipom ?).
Meru sent out Sokka (lvl 100 Qwilfish ?).

Ambipom leads are one of my favorites. If I haven’t played the person before, I get a free dangerous switch in to Rhyperior. Aside from those nasty Water Pulse trolling variants that is.

Meru switched in Toph (lvl 100 Rhyperior ?).
Ambipom used Fake Out.
It's not very effective...
Toph lost 11% of its health.
Toph's leftovers restored its health a little!
Toph restored 6% of its health.

To be safe, I’ll go with a Stone Edge, since most people think I’ll go for the obvious Earthquake and switch in a ghost, usually netting me a free kill.

Ambipom used U-turn.
Toph lost 15% of its health.
roscoe has entered the room.
psycho switched in Claydol (lvl 100 Claydol).
Toph used Stone Edge.
It's not very effective...
Claydol lost 24% of its health.
Claydol's leftovers restored its health a little!
Claydol restored 6% of its health.
Toph's leftovers restored its health a little!
Toph restored 6% of its health.

Okay so maybe it’s not a free kill, but it’s sure better than Earthquaking nothing into oblivion. I really don’t wanna take an Earth Power to Rhyperior since it looks like I’m going to need him for the Ambipom leads.

Meru switched in Azula (lvl 100 Rotom).
Claydol used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
Claydol's leftovers restored its health a little!
Claydol restored 6% of its health.

Stealth Rock is a pain for my team since it’s built around a Moltres sweep, but hopefully I can get rid of that. I’m guessing he’ll think I’ll shadow ball and switch to Ambipom for immunity so I’ll just trick to be safe since Claydol on one attack is easier to prevent Rapid Spin which is potent for my team.

psycho switched in Spiritomb (lvl 100 Spiritomb ?).
Spiritomb is exerting its pressure!
Azula used Trick.
Azula obtained Choice Band!
Spiritomb obtained Choice Scarf!
---
Spiritomb used Pursuit.
It's super effective!
Azula lost 100% of its health.
Meru's Azula fainted.

5-6

Yeah I guess I wasn’t playing very safe… I’m down one pokemon but at least a scarfed Spiritomb is free spikes for Qwilfish later on.

Meru switched in Sokka (lvl 100 Qwilfish ?).
Pointed stones dug into Sokka.
Sokka lost 12% of its health.
psycho switched in Ambipom (lvl 100 Ambipom ?).
Sokka used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

Looks like another free switch in for Rhyperior. Hopefully he doesn’t u-turn right away and put Rhyperior in a bad spot.

Meru switched in Toph (lvl 100 Rhyperior ?).
Pointed stones dug into Toph.
Toph lost 6% of its health.
Ambipom used Fake Out.
It's not very effective...
Toph lost 11% of its health.
Toph's leftovers restored its health a little!
Toph restored 6% of its health.

That Claydol really disadvantages me, so I’ll throw out a megahorn in hopes that I get rid of it early. Even if it doesn’t hit Claydol, it should be powerful enough to lay down some hurt.

Ambipom used U-turn.
Toph lost 15% of its health.
psycho switched in Milotic (lvl 100 Milotic ?).
Milotic was hurt by Spikes!
Milotic lost 12% of its health.
Toph used Megahorn.
Milotic lost 37% of its health.
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.
Toph's leftovers restored its health a little!
Toph restored 6% of its health.

A Milotic while I still have my Qwilfish up gives me no worries about Venusaur potentially being trolled by offensive Milotic, so I’ll get a couple more spikes.

Meru switched in Sokka (lvl 100 Qwilfish ?).
Pointed stones dug into Sokka.
Sokka lost 12% of its health.
Milotic used Recover.
Milotic restored 43% of its health.

Sokka used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

I guess he thought I would explode with Qwilfish? More free spikes for me. The battlefield is looking dangerous for my opponent now

Spiritomb used Shadow Sneak.
Sokka lost 20% of its health.
Sokka used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!

I want to keep Qwilfish just for death fodder or suiciding later. I’ll switch to Kabutops and put down Stealth Rock for full potency.

Meru switched in Katara (lvl 100 Kabutops ?).
Pointed stones dug into Katara.
Katara lost 12% of its health.
Spiritomb used Shadow Sneak.
Katara lost 21% of its health.
---
psycho switched in Vileplume (lvl 100 Vileplume ?).
Vileplume was hurt by Spikes!
Vileplume lost 25% of its health.
Katara used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
Vileplume's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vileplume restored 6% of its health.

Vileplume? Instead of Venusaur? At least that ensures that it’s slow enough for me to rapid spin those earlier stealth rocks away. I don’t mind potentially losing Kabutops in the process since that’ll mean a free switch in to Moltres and so far from the looks of his team, none of his team can handle, aside from Milotic, but I have full hazards down.

Katara used Rapid Spin.
Katara blew away the pointed stones!
A critical hit!
Vileplume lost 9% of its health.
Vileplume used Sleep Powder.
Katara fell asleep!
Vileplume's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vileplume restored 6% of its health.

Alright good sleep clause activated and I got rocks away. I’ll switch Venusaur in to scout its moves. Hopefully the reason my opponent is using Vileplume isn’t for Stun Spore?

Meru switched in Appa (lvl 100 Venusaur ?).
Vileplume used Leech Seed.
Vileplume's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vileplume restored 6% of its health.

Leech Seed. Time to hammer away.

Spiritomb lost 25% of its health.
Appa lost 10% of its health.

I really don’t want to get tricked a scarf onto my venusaur when I haven’t even sleep powdered yet. Qwilfish will definitely appreciate a hasted Explosion and if not, he can safely be death foddered for me.

Meru switched in Sokka (lvl 100 Qwilfish ?).
Spiritomb used Trick.
Spiritomb obtained Focus Sash!
Sokka obtained Choice Scarf!

Effectively absorbed. I suppose this might come in handy? Back to Venusaur to continue assaulting my opponent

Meru switched in Appa (lvl 100 Venusaur ?).
Spiritomb used Shadow Sneak.
Appa lost 20% of its health.

I really don't need to deal with Claydol in on Rhyperior right now. I need these layers =/ He likes to follow up Fake Outs with U-turn so I'll just hope the quadruple resist from Moltres bones him.

Props
- Ambipom for being a good revenge killer against my team
- Rhyperior for tanking Ambipom like a champ
- Articuno for cockblocking almost all of my team
- Moltres for demolishing over half of my opponent's team
- Qwilfish for being a badass spiker and suicider

Slops
- Rotom playing terribly
- Milotic switching in on full entry hazards
- Vileplume. Need I say more? Unless you're doing a Pokemon contest, always use Venusaur!
- A second slop because she's that terrible! But seriously, this slop is for Vileplume not throwing out an attack. Just one attack and Ambipom could've killed Venusaur in the last turn

psycho's team:

Comments were okay in some places, but extremely lacking in most others.

What really turned me off was the insulting of your opponent, though. Taking potshots at him for his team choices? Really? Your opponent runs a defensive team using Ambipom as a pivot, which really gets screwed over by the likes of status, especially Toxic. The Vileplume was most likely an Aromatherapist to keep the team status free, something that Venusaur can't do.

This. That's like me criticising you for using Venusaur because you don't like to play with any originality.

The battle was... standard.

I was almost going to agree with you, Red Ink, until I read everything after "this".

From the title, I expected Moltres and Articuno to play larger roles in the battle, but they ended up doing about as much as any other sweeper/wall would usually do. Again, brutal lack of epic gameplay here, but I suppose we can chalk this up as a learning experience and hopefully, your future warstories will be a bit more exciting.

Meh battle, fairly dull commentary, misleading title. Insulting the opponent isn't cool ect. Solid black warstory is boring to read, and posting more than one line of text for a comment is cool (why you chose x move over y alternative, details on your mon's sets, and all that stuff makes it a much better read).

There were no real predictions, no exciting moments--it was just you vs. a leaderboard player. That doesn't make a good warstory. And your talking about his Vileplume like that totally killed any interest I could have had in this.

Also, the huge "suspense block" thing is overdone.

Average battle, lacking comments, and you insulted his Vileplume too much. Maybe he was just testing it out? I got bored half way through and skimmed the rest. Not bad, but not good either. I think what you need here is to find a more exciting battle. Definately room for improvement, but looking forward to more in the future.

why didn't you just megahorn his claydol while he set up rocks? I dont know what set you were running, you could have outsped him? Thats why rhyperior HAS megahorn. To hit claydol and torterra. Also didnt like the insulting, especially vileplume. It has probably a cleric, which would make sense on his team.

Am I reading wrong or did Venusaur get seeded by Vileplume?
There's no failure message for it. There was no success message(x was seeded, I think) so it didn't work.

Warstory itself was pretty dull, as mentioned by the previous posters. Though I guess there's a limit on how exciting a battle with psycho can be...
