the long grind
Welcome to the seventh week of TLT! Throughout this tournament, players will battle in a best-of-three format each round, with Smogon's standard tiers being the metagames played. This tournament is also double elimination, so if you're defeated once, you're still in the loser's portion of the bracket.

The tiers that will be played are:

SM Ubers
SM OU
SM UU
SM RU
SM NU
SM LC
SM Doubles OU

In order to fairly determine the three of these seven tiers played in each individual matchup, players will take turns eliminating tiers among themselves. They'll both eliminate two tiers, thus leaving three tiers to be played. The lower seeded player will eliminate the first tier, followed by the higher seed player, and it will repeat in that order once more. The higher seed player picks what tier is played first of the three tiers. After that, the loser of game one picks which of the two tiers is played for game two. Naturally, game three will be played in the last remaining tier.

(Example: Eyan is a one seed, while Natalie is a sixteen seed. Natalie, the lower seed, chooses to first eliminate UU. Eyan follows with RU. Natalie then eliminates Doubles OU, and Eyan eliminates LC. Of the three tiers remaining, Eyan, the higher seed, chooses to play NU first. Eyan then loses game one, and chooses to play OU next. Should it go to game three, the game mode would be Ubers.)

Basic tournament rules - you should read this, especially if you're new to forum tournaments
Sportsmanship: Don't be an ass. Not to your opponents, not on PS, not on Smogon, not to me. A bit of friendly banter is ok, but please know where to draw the line. Think before you type, please.

Scheduling and Activity Wins: Contact your opponent as quickly as possible on their Smogon wall, and look out for them on PS. You will have one week from the posting of the week's matches to get it done. Extensions will be for three days after the scheduled deadline, and no further. If your opponent is not responding to your post on their wall, cannot be found on PS, or miss multiple scheduled times, make a detailed activity post in the thread letting me know why you deserve the win. No activity post means no activity call. As long as you have visible attempts at scheduling (such as wall posts), you will be fine.

Disconnections and Timer: A timer loss is a loss. No if's, and's, or but's about it. If your opponent is nice enough to replay that's fine, but they are by no means obligated to.

Ghosting and Identity: Don't take or give battle advice or make moves based solely on the suggestions of others, and don't pretend to be someone else in order to play as them. You will be caught, and you will be disqualified from this tournament as well as future PS! tournaments (BLT, PSPL, etc.).

Substitutions: Substitutions will be made only for rounds one & two, with round two subs only being allowed for any participants in the loser's bracket.

Jrdn

Not a promise, I'm just gonna call it.
Predictadors

parivard vs MJ: MJ has to wake up at an ungodly time to play parivard and loses in a tired stupor. He thinks it's a bad dream after he wakes up from his much needed nap, but it's not, is it? No, no it's not.
(London13 vs Hamhamhamham) vs BigBoy038: The Dutch Dream™ makes the upset over hamham with some solid play from both players. 3 games in this slugfest
FMG vs Jrsmash9: Jr-SantaClause-Smash9 checked his list and answered my prayers. My food was getting really bland and you provided me and my family table salt. I think he wins this one too after a string of wins vs good players
Pradhaaan vs TheFranklin: I still don't know much about Franklin, and so I could be proven wrong here, but Prad will win this imo

Won in 3 ggs. S/O's London for making me sweat and Osh for the bundle of lc teams that have been carrying me so far. Will contact BigBoy soontm.

Predicts for the other sets cause why not:

parivard vs MJ - Rooting for my man MBae, found pari pretty lacklustre against smb but if both play well this could come down the wire
FMG vs Jrsmash9 - If he's willing to put 1000+ turns and 7 hours into 1 set i reckon he can tryhard himself through another round here
Pradhaaan vs TheFranklin - TheFranklin had a good run through winners and has been playing well but i still think pradhaaan is more consistently solid and should probably take this series

Lost in 3 ggs vs Ham (won LC, lost ru and nu.) Firstly, i need to thank ham for redoing the ru game since, my mons had no evs. Its been fun, but i was pushing my luck making it this far. Shoutout to Nat for running this and anyone who gave me teams such as SMB, plas, luthier, sanjay, MJ ,esm and Racool (for OM teams during TLT qualification). Top 16 isn't bad and losing to someone with the reputation ham has, is nothing to be ashamed of. GL to ham in the future of this tour. If enough people like this post, I'll post the replays.

So I'm out of TLT. Was fun while it lasted. Thanks to all my friends for helping me build and providing teams, the real mvps. Also thanks to Nat for hosting this. The true loss for me was not being able to contribute to the bingo u_u

Also s/o to pari who asked me to not turn timer on g1 but puts it on g3 while I had to invite half the tours room. GG

ggs, could have played the end game for uu better. GL in the future rounds.

This tour was fun and a cool experience. Sadly, I never got to play ou. I did pretty well for someone who only plays 1 tier, but I do wish that I have played better in some of my recent games. Anyways, rooting for my canadian amigo, jrdn, to win this all :D

LC rolls and speed ties are wack

Lost 2-0 against prad. Was a fun series, ggs and gl man.

I guess this is where my run ends. Had a lot of fun during tlt. I had no expectations whatsoever, since this was my very first tour.
Defenitely did not expect to reach top 12. I"m really looking forward to see some great matches in the remainder of the tour, and to see any of you guys in future tlt/blt/ other tours.

Also, shoutout to Nat for being an amazing host and making this first tlt possible.

Lost ggs, sucks that both sets i lost this tour had an influence of hax. G1 i'm certain i would have have won if id avoided the crit or 1/16 roll hariyama vs slowbro but i can only blame myself for this one as the steelix sack was the optimal play. G3 durant had a good chance of sweeping if it avoided crit or burn but just died to a crit so yeah unfort.
Good luck to BigBoy in the rest, and Jrdn you better win this now as you're the one I was hoping to face the most. Working and training full time made this tour quite hard to prepare for, but i had a lot of fun playing for the most part. Thanks Nat for hosting. Have a great Christmas everyone.
