Ongoing Trial by Combat! [F Amadon vs Dylando]



In ancient times, Pokemon Trainers had to be able to stand their ground without relying so greatly on their partners.
In honor of this ancient tradition, take up arms and fight in ritual battle!
...Well, sort of. We don't want anyone getting hurt, so we're letting the Trainers attack, but we're not letting anyone attack them.

Each Trainer can execute one move on any single step each round. No game effects, save for their own moves, can ever affect Trainers (their moves can still be affected, for example by weather or abilities like Sturdy). Treat all Pokemon's core stat ranks as 0 while a Trainer is acting (as though they were holding :lucky egg: Lucky Egg, without the +1 crit stage).

Trainers' moves can be subbed for, and the normal substitution count is increased by 1 to allow for this. Substitutions can also alter a Trainer's moves, but this comes out of the same pool of substitutions (they don't get to write 5 separate subs for their one move per round.)

When sending in, choose a class for your Trainer from the options below. Each class learns several moves, obeying the normal battle level restrictions; they also have a Speed stat, which determines turn order as normal.

Name Etymology:
From the word Noxious, referring to the poisonous gas that makes up most of Gastly's body.

Attitude and Motive:
Nox is incredibly cunning, preferring a more tactical approach rather than simply using brute force. He isn't beneath using underhanded tactics when push comes to shove, however.

History:
One of the first to approach this trainer, he saw a human to trick into subservience...However, he ended up becoming a member of the team. He's eagerly waiting to show his power once he improves.

Name Etymology:
From the word Gladius, a short-sword in ancient Rome.

Attitude and Motive:
Gladius is the more reserved ghost type of the team. He's usually the one to get Nox out of trouble. He's followed along as well to make sure the group doesn't get into too much of a situation.

History:
Nox seems to be friendly towards him, so it's assumed that Gladius and him have a history prior to being caught. Showing up in the middle of the night was quite the scare, though it wasn't his intention to frighten anyone.

Gumi is the sweetest little dewpider! Well. She used to be. Now she's a sweet big Araquanid. Just because she's sweet doesn't mean she doesn't pack a punch, though. She's not afraid to stand up for her teammates.

History:
Found snacking on fruit gummies from a nearby shop, she was given the name Gumi and now travels alongside the group.

Name Etymology:
It was on a note next to the Pokeball. Along with some other things, but...I'm unsure what they mean. I think I'll call it Tri, for short?

Attitude and Motive:
It's...strange. It's not as emotive as most reuniclus, as far as I'm aware. Doesn't talk much, or at all, really. Gumi's the only one who's heard him talk, apparently. It's most active especially in the facilities... It's a bit concerning, honestly.

History:
I obtained this pokemon out of nowhere. I'm not even sure it's mine? I just have it's pokeball. I'm still looking for it's proper trainer, because it acts REALLY weird sometimes. It's pretty much always looking for a fight! And when you have pokemon as rowdy or dangerous as :gengar::ursaluna: mine, things tend to escalate pretty quickly...

You find yourself in a rocky plains, where you stumble upon a lone bunnyman...

Standing next to a dragon skeleton, he rips out one of it's rib's despite it being the size of him, holding it over his shoulder.

"You're not getting by without fighting!"

He lets out a howl, as several "wild" pokemon gather in the area.

A wild :araquanid: araquanid (and totally not Gumi) appears, with a :mystic-water: around it's neck!
