Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
SD is too slow against offensive teams, while defensive teams will basically switch in their wall as garchomp swords dances, or worse(for chomp) attacks. They can all tank a +2 hit and either phaze/burn/spore though this is tough on stall. Skarmory doesn't counter chomp, but it can phaze him...
that skarmory spread looks kinda wonky but I'll take it. It can take on chomp if its already in/whirlwind garchomp away. The Bronzong I was talking about is heatproof actually :P and no Garchomp is ever going to test Zong in this manner.
hey man, sorry if I was being a little confrontational in the thread, just interested in hearing your thoughts more in depth here bc things were getting slightly heated =P
Two trapping pokemon allows you to switch between Magnezone/Gothitelle whenever needed. CB Scizor being a bitch to gothitelle? switch to Zone and punish BP. Scarfzone handles scizor even better. Scarf gothitelle potentially HP fires it, and between different items on both sets, scizor is toast.
hmm have you tried Magnetelle? I just came across this core while making a run of the mill dragmag team. It's annoying because you still need a pokemon to set up Rocks (Garchomp can be used to potentially allow for 4 dragons!) and that's half the team without dragons =/
I still fail to see how a simple parenthesis and two words, "unlike Jirachi" is me saying that "Jirachi is the embodiment of the S rank." I would have to disagree with you on the grounds that many things do in fact wall Garchomp (skarmory and bronzong do even after an SD boost), many things...
Please quote the person that said Jirachi is the embodiment of S-Rank, because it's slightly confusing for me since your reply came just after mine.
Tyranitar is definitely as versatile, while Politoed can be a defensive wall (of sorts) with incredible support moves, a monstrous nuke with...
Garchomp doesn't have much versatility (unlike Jirachi). It's a physical dragon with STAB on Earthquake and what used to be a blazingly fast speed stat. It can invest in bulk and use a rocky helmet to great success, but that's it when it comes to versatility. Unless you count Fire Blast for...
hmm rotom-w is actually a bitch to wear down without SR up anyway. LO moltres could easily 3hko it with rocks so it could only switch in once in regular OU, but Rotom-W is definitely very solid even now. Maybe not so much on a sun team however.
Moltres is a serial killer in this metagame. It's so fun to use and the boost to Fire Blast's Base power in sun is reason enough to not bother sending in Politoed. I feel so bad for Sun teams trying to win the weather war against Rain Moltres teams. Maybe they should consider HP Rock Scarf...
dragmag is one of my favorite playstyles lol. I get really annoyed by teams with heatran, jirachi, skarm, ferro on the same team lol. I'm pretty disappointed in Magnezone a lot of the time as well and he's kind of useless for a lot of games. too many jirachi just u-turn out
