you are nothing without me sir. i made you who you are.If anyone here can help with my question, I'd like to know if the shiny that can't be chained for deducing your SID without an action replay, has to be a shiny that I would a friend be able to trade me his legitimate (non-chained) shiny and then I do the math for me on my computer. and then would he be able to do the math on his pokemon in his game on his computer if he wished?

Something to add about RNG advancement: text of the form
Defeated WEEZING (DAY)
(ie defeating a genderless Pokemon) in the journal advances the RNG.
I also have a suspicion that messages like
Got TRAINER'S POKEMON (GTS)
advance the RNG. I'll test this shortly.

in your Guide to deducing the secret ID, you said that I need a "non-bred / non-chained shiny Pokemon" - if, in Platinum, Dawn gave me an egg that hatched into a shiny, would that be suitable (it wasn't bred but it did hatch from an egg)?
