hoopa daunt is p cool but im 99% sure it'd be next to impossible to make work on a functioning team outside of this matchup, voting for it anyways

I built this team with my friend Amane Misa around the core of Hoopa and Klefki. The core is pretty simple of Klefki setting up Spikes for Hoopa to have an easier time breaking while providing Prankster Thunder Wave support to help with Hoopa’s middling Speed tier. An AoA Hoopa set was opted with Life Orb to just hit as hard and as much as possible, because it is inevitable it will get Pursuit trapped regardless. Nasty Plot Ape takes advantage of Pursuit locked users like Krookodile and Scizor that trap Hoopa for a free set-up opportunity to also start breaking. Hydreigon provides Speed control and can help pivot into the team’s breakers. Scizor helps with the Latias matchup more, but mainly is there to give Infernape Pursuit support. Seismitoad is the glue for the team by giving a Water and Electric Immunity, while providing the needed Stealth Rock user.

Good luck, and please remember to submit your cores by Thursday.

Latias (F) @ Dragonium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Recover

Calm mind latias is able to freely set up on infernape and seismitoad against this team, and a hydreigon locked into draco / fire blast . With specs magneton trapping both klefki and scizor, it's only answer is hydreigon, who cannot OHKO it after a calm mind. Latias can't kill hoopa without using it's z-move, but as seismitoad isn't carrying toxic there's no punishment for doing this.

252 SpA Latias Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 0 HP / 8 SpD Hoopa: 225-265 (74.7 - 88%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Latias Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 8 SpD Hoopa: 225-265 (74.7 - 88%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Latias Devastating Drake (195 BP) vs. 0 HP / 8 SpD Hoopa: 336-396 (111.6 - 131.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Latias: 218-260 (72.4 - 86.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO - risky if recover on it, dark pulse would be the safer option from enemy that leaves you with even more hp.

Cofa is a real threat once boosted + setting TR with its ghost STAB. Aero can set rocks and chip Hydreigon who is the only real option of stopping Cofa under TR.

Bisharp @ Assault Vest
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 188 HP / 236 Atk / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch

Shaymin @ Normalium Z
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Celebrate
- Dazzling Gleam
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power

Pretty simple here, AV bisharp pressures and removes hoopa, and soft checks hydreigon and cripples sciz and seismitoad with knock off(on the switch in seismitoads case). This allows this build of shaymin to effectively break the rest of the team after a z celebrate. Shaymin also helps bisharp by pressuring seismitoad and soaking any status flying around.

Banned deucer.
Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 72 Def / 188 SpD
Careful Nature
- Defog
- Knock Off
- Foul Play
- Roost

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Recover

Mandibuzz walls everything except Infernape and +2 Hoopa after SR although you should be able to keep SR off since Seismitoad isn't running Toxic. You can fortunately even beat Klefki because Dark makes you immune to Prankster Thunder Wave and then you can slowly chip away with Knock Off while Play Rough can be PP stalled. Jellicent walls Infernape pretty easily although a +2 Fire Blast and a +2 Blaze Fire Blast can come close to killing you.

The combo of these Pokemon come pretty close to walling the entire team, the only obvious problems being:

Infinite Dark Pulse Flinches from Hydreigon
Blaze Infernape sweeping through Jellicent
Scald Burned Mandibuzz being unable to keep Spikes off

Magneton @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Natural Cure
Happiness: 0
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Roost
- Dragon Dance
- Heal Bell

Altaria can literally click DD once and sweep this team with the steels gone. Altaria doesn’t need to worry about Hydreigon, Seismitoad and Infernape, as Altaria’s typing doesn’t care about dragons, darks, waters, fires (even Z from nape) and fightings. Hoopa can do a lot with its STAB moves but max atk Altaria will have a 62.5% chance to OHKO. Since that’s the case, only Klef and Scizor pose as checks, but magneton can abuse its ability to use Magnet Pull and kill both Scizor and Klefki.

252+ Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 40 HP / 0 Def Hoopa: 294-346 (94.5 - 111.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO
+1 252+ Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Infernape: 384-453 (131 - 154.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Infernape Inferno Overdrive (185 BP) vs. 72 HP / 0 SpD Altaria-Mega: 123-146 (39.8 - 47.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

- Focus Punch

Moltres @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Fire Blast
- Roost
- Agility
Agility Moltres absolutely cooks this team nearly unopposed. Hoopa just needs to be removed because it can even take a Supersonic Skystrike and puts the pain on Moltres in return, Muk can easily pursuit trap it. Muk also chips Hydreigon to the degree that you don't need to use supersonic skystrike on it, making you able to save it for Seismitoad. Moltres finds plenty of setup opprontunities against Scizor, Klefki (It can't do anything outside of paralyzing so you just set up additional agility in it's face) and to a bit of a lesser degree Infernape.

I originally built this team around Specs Primarina + Sub Gengar + SD Terrakion by the idea of lame-o Adaam but made a few changes with the help of the nerd vivalospride. Doublade was chosen over Gengar due to the original team's generally bad matchup against Fighting types. Babiri Terrakion was chosen as a lure of sorts, due to the core being rather Scizor weak. Scarf Hydreigon provides a Ground Immunity and speed control for my team. Psychium Z Tsareena looks out of place at first, but helps with luring Amoonguss, which would otherwise be a general nuisance, and also provides me with a form of hazard control. Finally, Mamoswine provided me with a wallbreaker, a secondary way to pick off threats along with Hydreigon, and Ground-type.

Submissions end Friday, have fun!
