Introduction

When you talk to the deliveryman in the PokéMart, the PID (at least for variable-natured Wondercard Pokémon) is determined by an alternate random number generator, which, at the moment, we cannot control. The IVs are created from two consecutive calls to the normal RNG. This, of course, we can, and will, control. The end result is that we can get any IV spread that can be produced through Method 1 with any nature. If you are not resetting on a fixed nature Wondercard, your nature will be random, so you may get a large number of Pokémon with the correct IVs and wrong nature. This can be frustrating, but with patience a beneficial nature can be obtained.

Prerequisites

RNG Reporter Note to Mac Users: This software works under Windows and Linux. There is not a Macintosh version at this time.

A Wondercard containing a Pokémon

At least one empty slot in your party. Wondercard Pokémon may not be received without at least one empty slot.

Enough Rare Candies to check your IVs. Those with a very limited amount of Rare Candies should save on Route 225, 226, 227, or somewhere else that has high level Pokémon, as they are easier to IV check. RNG Reporter has a built in IV checker.

A clock with a clear Seconds reading.

You must have at least one Journal page with a message that states you have captured a Pokémon. It is not important that it be on any particular page and it is not a problem if you have this message on more than one page.

Initial Calibration Phase

Use the calibration steps from "Common Information for Breeding and Capturing Perfect Pokémon" to get the necessary information. These steps should only need to be performed once (when you first begin learning how to reset), so make sure that you have done a good job.

Selecting a Spread and Generating a Target Time

Below is a fairly comprehensive list of all low frame usable spreads.
If you need something that is not covered below, you can use the "Capture Time Finder" in RNG Reporter. Search using the directions from "Capturing Perfect Pokémon" using method 1 and then add two to the frame number. When searching for an IV spread, the nature attached is completely irrelevant as the PID and IVs are not coupled for Wondercard Pokémon as they are for method 1.

When using these seeds, the "Seed to Time" function of RNG Reporter should be used to get a list of acceptable target times.

Keep in mind that odd spreads are going to be much easier to hit. The directions that follow require the Journal to pop up on game start and have you immediately collecting your gift after the Journal is canceled. This is done because the NPCs that wander inside of the PokéMart advance the RNG. Remember that Journal flips to pages containing information about caught and captured Pokémon advance the RNG by two. Meaning, if we start at one, the frame number will remain odd after each flip.

Having a single wandering Pokémon starts the frame at two; so in this case, even frames will be easier and odd will be more difficult.

When attempting to get an even frame without wanderers or an odd frame with them, you should pause slightly between canceling the Journal and collecting your gift.

Soft Resetting for Your Final Result

Save standing in front of the deliveryman. You'll also want to set the game up so the Journal will appear as soon as you start the game. Make sure that there is an entry that will advance the RNG, such as a defeated or captured wild Pokémon. It is crucial that the Journal comes up immediately when you load your game.

Begin your cycle of soft resetting, remembering to set the clock on your DS each and every time so the time when you select "Continue" matches your
target time. Instructions for reliably hitting the
target time are found in the "Common information for Breeding and Capturing Perfect Pokémon" section.

Using the target frame number, calculate and execute the required number of journal flips to advance to this target. For example:

Desired Frame: 101
Number of wandering Pokémon: 0
Total required RNG advances: 100

The formula for "Total required RNG advances" is target frame - number of wandering Pokémon - 1.

Page flips: 50

The formula for the number of "page flips" is total required RNG advances / 2.

Remember that each time a page with a captured or defeated Pokémon is displayed, the frame advances by two. If the Journal has captured or defeated Pokémon on the first page, this counts as a flip.

Note that if the "Total required RNG advances" is odd, you should subtract one from this number and then calculate the page flips. This will leave you one frame shy of your target, which can be made up with NPC movements by
slightly pausing between canceling the Journal and collecting your gift.

Verify your result. Since the majority of Wondercard Pokémon are
of a fairly high level, it should be easy to verify the IVs. If they
are not correct, you may either immediately capture a Pokémon and
check it's initial seed or use the coin flip trick noted in the "Common Information for Breeding and Capturing Perfect Pokémon"
section. If you are using the coin flip trick you may wish to output
your adjacent results to CSV to make it easier to search.
