Hitmontop

I used a Rapid Spinner Technitop, and it worked quite well for me...

Hitmontop (M) w/ Leftovers
Technician
248 HP/248 ATK/12 DEF
-Fake Out
-Rapid Spin
-Mach Punch
-Sucker Punch

This is essentially a Hitmontop that abuses priority and packs spinning capabilites. It also functions as my revenge killer. :/

Hitmontop is an amazing Utility Pokemon, but I don't understand why does the recommended set not use Close Combat? Close Combat is one of the most painful moves in the game, and it should be abused on Mono-fighting typed Hitmontop.
Hitmontop (M) w/ Leftovers
Technician
252 ATK/252 Speed/4 HP
-Fake Out
-Rapid Spin
-Mach Punch/Sucker Punch
-Close Combat

I understand that it may seem appealing to most to have both Mach Punch and Sucker Punch for type coverage + priority. However, if your team has solutions to one or the other (namely Ghosts vs. Doryuzuu), then it may be possible to just choose the appropriate move. Stab Close Combat dents most Pokemon at no attack stat cost, and should be abused.

Is there any possibility of a choice bad set? I mean all of these other sets seem to be more defensive based, a flip to the offensive side might catch people off gaurd and even gain a few needed KOs. And with all of these proirity moves, it chould be good.
