[OVERVIEW]

Lumineon has very few reasons to be used over other Water-type Defog users like Silvally-Water and Swanna. Silvally-Water has higher stats all around while still being able to serve as a defensive wall and pivot, while Swanna has reliable recovery and offers more offensive pressure with its secondary typing. Bar its decent Speed tier, Lumineon possesses mediocre stats that give it trouble switching into moves and dealing any offensive damage. Its lack of reliable recovery furthers this, as well as its susceptibility to all entry hazards and weakness to Toxic from hazard setters like Regirock and Alolan Sandslash, which leads to Lumineon struggling as a Defogger.

[SET]
name: Defog
move 1: Defog
move 2: Scald
move 3: U-turn
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Storm Drain
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set attempts to allow Lumineon to switch in to take resisted hits from Pokemon like Floatzel and Alolan Sandslash and use the opportunity to either remove entry hazards, spread status conditions, or pivot out to gain momentum. Its one niche would be in Storm Drain, which does have its perks such as making Choice Specs Jellicent's Water Spout less spammable. Lumineon also is able to hold Leftovers for a passive form of recovery. Otherwise, you're better off using the other Water-type Defoggers in Silvally-Water and Swanna with their better offensive and defensive presences.

(I know you talk about its mediocre stats but I'd definitely emphasize how piss weak it is and how it's setup bait for a ton of special attackers)

It also has an item slot that does allow it to have a form of passive recovery in Leftovers. (just say that lefties gives it passive recovery over silvally-water or something like that. The " It also has an item slot that does allow it to" is fluff) Otherwise, you're better off using the other Water-type Defoggers in Silvally-Water and Swanna with their better offensive and defensive presences.
