Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dual Wingbeat
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake

Newly received toys in Dragon Dance and Dual Wingbeat have effectuated a significant rise in viability for Mega Aerodactyl in the National Dex OU metagame. With its excellent Attack and Speed stats, it can act as both a fine revenge killer and setup sweeper. After one Dragon Dance, it outspeeds virtually the entire metagame. Dual Wingbeat is a fine STAB move that gets boosted by Tough Claws and hits most Pokemon neutrally. Fire Fang is also boosted by Tough Claws and is used to nail Corviknight, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Mega Scizor. Earthquake rounds out the set to deal with Heatran, Tyranitar, and Toxapex. Mega Aerodactyl fits best on hyper offense teams, so it is usually paired with a suicide lead like Mew, which is able to set entry hazards to facilitate a sweep while preventing opposing entry hazards from going up. Additional teammates include other setup sweepers such as Dragapult, Belly Drum Kommo-o, Bulk Up Cinderace, Swords Dance Rillaboom, and Magearna, as they are able to blow holes in the opposing team for Mega Aerodactyl to clean up, or vice versa.

With its excellent Attack and Speed stats, it can act as both a fine revenge killer and setup sweeper. After one Dragon Dance, it outspeeds virtually the entire metagame and its offensive capabilities are not to be trifled with -this is implied sufficiently in the previous sentence already, no need to reemphasize- . Dual Wingbeat is a fine STAB move that gets boosted by Tough Claws and does tremendous damage to foes like Mega Venusaur, Kommo-o, and Mega Lopunny -I'd avoid wording it like this, since none of these are actually staying in on Mega Aerodactyl; simply writing something along the lines of 'Strong STAB move that hits most Pokemon neutrally' should convey Dual Wingbeat's appeal well enough-. Fire Fang is also boosted by Tough Claws and is used to nail Corviknight, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Kartana, and potentially Mega Scizor. Earthquake rounds out the set to deal with Heatran, Tyranitar, and Toxapex. Aerodactyl's weakness to Stealth Rock makes reliable entry hazard removers like Zapdos and Corviknight crucial partners to it. Furthermore, Aerodactyl is threatened by Greninja's Water Shuriken, even under Psychic Terrain, so it pairs well with checks to it, such as Ferrothorn, Kommo-o, Toxapex, Blissey, and Assault Vest Magearna. Finally, due to Aerodactyl's frailty, pivoting support from teammates like Flip Turn Swampert and the aforementioned Corviknight, Blissey, and Magearna is important to bring it in safely.
Mega Aerodactyl is used exclusively on Hyper Offense, so this doesn't depict its spot in the metagame. Make sure to mention suicide leads (basically Mew), in addition to wallbreakers / late-game cleaners such as Dragapult, Belly Drum Kommo-O, Bulk Up Cinderace, Swords Dance Rillaboom, and Magearna.
I'll take another look after you've implemented these
