Alright thanks everyone for participating on this week, I got busted trying to make the game easier but no problems with that!

Counter: Golbat (Level 56) | Quagsire (-kal-) | Registeel (Dr Ciel)
Check: Mega Steelix (GreasyXSpoon) | Escavalier (thecrystalonix)
Emboar (DKFirelord) | Bouffalant (Ping_Pong_Along)
Fletchinder (HypnoEmpire) | Gallade (Esidisi) | Delphox (thegrovylekid)
If anyone asks, honorable mention can be deserved to something that is generally unviable but gets the job done, or a generally inefficient set just made to counter the victim. Magmortar isnt a shedinja but it is fine by me for an honorable mention at least.

Also read This post before the respective check to understand how to handle venomoth generally

Ok, victim of the next week goes to:

Sneasel @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off
- Low Kick
- Icicle Crash / Pursuit

Little cutie is a major threat. Discuss

Not to really tell you how to run the thread MrAldo but I really wouldn't include magmortar. I had honorable mentions before so that I could include Pokemon that were viable and worked as checks/counters but couldn't make it because the maximum was 3 counters and checks lol, but you don't go by the maximum anymore so you could just do without honorable mentions. Magmortar is also terrible.

Reserving Hitmontop

Hitmontop @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Foresight
- Toxic

Hitmontop is a Hard Counter. You all know what Hitmontop does, Intimidate + Fighting STAB. Losing Leftovers to Knock Off can be annoying, but it's still not that bad. The best Sneasel can do is hope to get four flinches in a row and no misses with Icicle Crash. The opponent will almost always switch Sneasel out, so you can use this as an opportunity to Toxic the opponent's switch in, Rapid Spin, or Foresight if you think the opponent's about to send out a ghost.

EZ

0 Atk Hitmontop Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sneasel: 792-936 (315.5 - 372.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

-1 252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hitmontop: 74-87 (24.3 - 28.6%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
-1 252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hitmontop: 42-49 (13.8 - 16.1%) -- possibly the worst move ever
-1 252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Low Kick (60 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Hitmontop: 35-42 (11.5 - 13.8%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Arikado I do believe an honorable mention could work for cases for this but yeah, after some though, you are definitely right. No worries about making some healthy recommendation, I always welcome them in other to improve the thread so thanks a lot for the input :)

Nice avatar btw *.*

From now, only mons that are viable or officially listed in the viability rankings will go into the archive, but that doesnt stop people from posting something "creative" :P gotta apply that filter for now.

Magmortar's that bad, eh? Well, I tried ^.^ Wanted to come up with something a little unique, ya know? Still, I guess it does suck in RU.

Alomomola the fat fish counter

Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic

What is this? This is a fat fucking fish. Despite having been in RU/NU most of it's Pokemon career, Alomomola is known as an absolutely epic Water-type wall, and for good reason, too. Though it's Defense and Special Defense are mediocre, a massive 165 HP stat, amazing Regenerator ability, and semi-reliable healing in Wish and Protect make Alomomola a serious defensive threat, found in stall teams even in OU. There are few things that break it easily, and Sneasel is no exception.

RU Stall definitely has more than one way to wear out Sneasel, and Alomomola is one of the best. While it is irritated by Knock Out removing its Leftovers, it takes a minimal amount from any move Sneasel has to offer.
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 120 HP / 136 Def Alomomola: 172-203 (34.3 - 40.5%) -- 39.3% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off vs. 120 HP / 136 Def Alomomola: 114-136 (22.7 - 27.1%) -- 48.5% chance to 4HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Low Kick (60 BP) vs. 120 HP / 136 Def Alomomola: 71-84 (14.1 - 16.7%) -- possible 6HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off vs. 120 HP / 136 Def Alomomola: 114-136 (22.7 - 27.1%) -- 48.5% chance to 4HKO

As can be seen, Alomomola can hardly be 4HKOed even after Leftovers are removed. Furthermore, though Scald does, at maximum, 25% in return, it also has a significant 30% chance to burn Sneasel and put it out of play for the time being. If that wasn't enough, Alomomola's Wish can be spammed without needing to Protect on the first turn Alomomola comes in, allow for massive recovery or easy Wishpassing, whichever fits the bill. And unlike other counters, who might be worn down during the game, Regenerator ensures that, simply by switching out, Alomomola is healthy enough to come back in and take another hit from Sneasel. Without factoring in Entry Hazards, Alomomola actually has a net gain in health by simply switching in and out of some of Sneasel's attacks.

This massive sunfish is a very hard counter to the dastardly little cutie, and fits well in RU on Stall teams as a WishPasser and general fatmon, and balance teams as an extremely difficult to break Regenerator pivot with WishPassing capabilities. With the given EV spread, Alomomola can also serve as a soft check to mons like Clawitzer, who can't 2HKO and can be Toxic'd to put them on a timer.

Aromatisse @ Leftovers
Ability: Aroma Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Moonblast

Aromatisse is a nice counter to Sneasel as it has a typing advantage vs it. It can easily switch in vs any of its attacks and can OHKO it with a single moonblast.

Mega Steelix as a Counter

Steelix @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Heavy Slam
- Stealth Rock

Mega Steelix, thanks to its massive defenses can easily switch into both STAB's from Sneasel, while tanking Low Kick relatively well In return, Gyro Ball is an easy OHKO.

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 55-64 (15.5 - 18%) -- possible 6HKO

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 70-83 (19.7 - 23.4%) -- possible 5HKO

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Low Kick (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 133-156 (37.5 - 44%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Poliwrath is a counter

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Focus Blast
- Ice Beam
- Vacuum Wave

By the virtue of it's solid bulk and a typing resistant to sneasel's stabs poliwrath takes on sneasel no matter what and obviously can ko back with vacuum wave after little prior damage.

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 96 HP / 0 Def Poliwrath: 87-103 (25.2 - 29.8%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 96 HP / 0 Def Poliwrath: 77-90 (22.3 - 26%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Low Kick (80 BP) vs. 96 HP / 0 Def Poliwrath: 95-113 (27.5 - 32.7%) -- 76.9% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Poliwrath Vacuum Wave vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Sneasel: 244-292 (97.2 - 116.3%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

Mega Audino as a Soft Counter

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Dazzling Gleam
- Protect
- Toxic

Simple stuff, Mega Audino can easily sponge most attacks from Sneasel. Even before Mega Evolving, the most Sneasel can do is spamming Icicle Crash while praying for flinches and no misses. Audino can then Wish stall, or 2HKO Sneasel with Dazzling Gleam.

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Audino: 90-107 (21.9 - 26%) -- 4.3% chance to 4HKO
---

252 Atk Life Orb burned Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 232+ Def Spiritomb: 51-60 (16.7 - 19.7%) -- guaranteed 6HKO

Oh, Salient, what can Spiritomb do back to it though? :/
Well mr reader

Spiritomb's Foul Play:
0 Atk Spiritomb Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sneasel: 100-118 (39.8 - 47%) -- 41% chance to 2HKO after burn damage

Combine Spiritomb's Foul Play, Life Orb and Burn damage, you have a dead Sneasel n___n

Emboar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
- Sleep Talk / Toxic / other filler

Since Emboar has a fire fighting type, it resist Sneasels stabs, and is able to outspeed Sneasel with a choice scarf, and Flare Blitz and Superpower ohko it easily. Emboar is able to eat a low kick if dosen't have a scarf for any reason.

252 Atk Emboar Superpower vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Sneasel: 1224-1440 (491.5 - 578.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Durant @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Durant OHKO's Sneasel with literally every move it carries except Crunch (which 2hko's after rocks lol). It can't switch in well but Scarf Durant can easily revenge kill it, taking 0 from Ice Shard.

It's really pointless to post calcs about actually killing Sneasel because like, super effective STAB, Sneasel is frail af... so it's extremely obvious.

The parts you actually need to calc are these:

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Durant: 152-179 (59.1 - 69.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Durant: 66-78 (25.6 - 30.3%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

which do a lot of damage as Durant comes in, therefore you listing it as a check and not a counter.

Yeah that's true I suppose, I didn't include them because I figured you'd never be switching Durant in. I'll add them though so people can see, thanks!

Sorry my fault. Looking for a replacement as we speak.

Escavalier as a Counter.

Escavalier @ Choice Band
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Iron Head
- Megahorn
- Knock Off
- Drill Run

Well Escavalier with shell armour can switch in into anything w/o fear of crits and will live to see Sneasel die next turn. With Escavalier base Atk sitting at the monster number of 135 you don't need to invest in Atk all that much and can focus on Def and HP instead.

Escavalier > Sneasel

8 Atk Choice Band Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Sneasel: 816-960 (325 - 382.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
8 Atk Choice Band Escavalier Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Sneasel: 542-642 (215.9 - 255.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Sneasel > Escavalier

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Ice Shard vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Escavalier: 23-29 (6.7 - 8.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Low Kick (60 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Escavalier: 48-57 (13.9 - 16.6%) -- possible 7HKO

Granbull as a counter

Granbull @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Play Rough
- Thunder Wave
- Earthquake
- Heal Bell

Due to Intimidate and Granbull's Fairy typing, it can reliably switch into any attacks that Sneasel throws at it, even taking a Life Orb boosted Icicle Crash with ease. Though Granbull does not like to lose its Leftovers, it can still handle Sneasel. From there, Granbull has the option to cripple Sneasel with Thunder Wave or straight up OHKO it with Play Rough.

-1 252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Granbull: 86-101 (22.4 - 26.3%) -- guaranteed 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Life Orb Sneasel Icicle Crash vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Granbull: 126-149 (32.8 - 38.9%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Granbull Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sneasel: 362-428 (144.2 - 170.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Please, I would love if everyone could respect the reservation someone make. It doesnt taking any effort in reading what other have reserved. Thank you. Now, you can nominate another mon that hasnt been reserved or posted.
I apologise mate, I did not see that at all. If you would like me to remove it for his spot then sure thing mate, I'm sorry about that.

Most like consisting of 3 best counters, 3 best checks ala boltsandbombers (thanks to him for the idea btw) so hopefully we could continue with the quality submissions! it will be an interesting experiment

24 SpA Mantine Scald vs. 168 HP / 0 SpD Mega Camerupt: 288-340 (89.1 - 105.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 212 SpD / 44 Spe
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Taunt

Thanks to its naturally high base HP and Defense, Jellicent can switch in either to Camerupt's Fire-type STAB or Hidden Power Ice and can Recover the damage from Earth Power away; it has a very high chance (80%) to OHKO Mega Camerupt with Scald. Keep in mind that Jellicent wouldn't appreciate Toxic.

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 212+ SpD Jellicent: 163-193 (40.3 - 47.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 212+ SpD Jellicent: 100-118 (24.7 - 29.2%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Jellicent Scald vs. 88 HP / 0 SpD Mega Camerupt: 292-348 (96.3 - 114.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)

Modest Nature
- Boomburst
- Surf
- Focus Blast
- Fire Blast

Now, Bulky Specs Exploud, i will be honest can't really take a hit form Camerupt. I mean it can live a fire blast, just, but if there are hazards out don't switch him in. The best use is as a revenge killer. He will out speed mega Camerupt and can Score the KO with a Surf. Boomburst can also do some major damage and if Camerupt came in on hazards it will more than likely kill.
