OU (ou) mega swampert

Swampert @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Stealth Rock

Alongside Pelipper, Mega Swampert is the face of rain in OU, a playstyle gaining a lot of notoriety thanks to a lot of great matchups across the board, especially against opposing offense. Mega Swampert can be very deadly to several unprepared teams, thanks to outstanding power, bulk, and—under rain—speed. A very important trait that Mega Swampert brings to the table is an Electric immunity, as rain teams would be very prone to this type of move otherwise. Mega Swampert is also a great Stealth Rock user, forcing many switches and matching up well against most Defoggers, but it can also run other very valuable moves in the last slot such as Substitute and Superpower. Aside from the implicit Pelipper, teammates like Ash-Greninja and Manaphy help wear down one another's checks, most notably Grass-types. Offensive Tornadus-T can also help pave the way for Mega Swampert with perfectly accurate Hurricanes.

I believe that Substitute should be the main move in the 4th slot because it makes Mega Swampert a lot more consistently threatening and just that much harder to deal with, while Stealth Rock isn't particularly hard to fit somewhere else. You could slash Stealth Rock if you really want to.

Mega Swampert is the face of rain in OU, alongisde Pelipper, of course, a playstyle gaining a lot of notoriety thanks to a lot of great matchups across the board, especially against offense. Mega Swampert can be very deadly to several unprepared teams, thanks to outstanding power, bulk, and—under rain—speed. A very important trait that Mega Swampert brings to the table is an Electric immunity, as rain teams would be very prone to this type of move otherwise. You still have the characters available to do so, so I think that you should briefly mention why it's started to run Substitute so often. Mega Swampert is also a great Stealth Rock user, forcing many switches and matching up well against most Defoggers. Make sure to remove this if you don't slash Stealth Rock. Aside from the implicit Pelipper, teammates like Ash-Greninja and Manaphy help wear down eachothers checks, most notably Grass-types. Offensive Tornadus-T can also help pave the way for Mega Swampert with perfect accuracy Hurricanes.

so took me a bit of a while to get around to talking with the rest of ou qc but we agreed that having stealth rock as the sole slash might be better, and jordy qc approved this otherwise, so im moving this to grammar

Alongside Pelipper, Mega Swampert is the face of rain in OU, alongisde Pelipper, of course, (the alongisde Pelipper of course clause felt awkward when followed directly by 'a playstyle', since it creates a big separation between 'of rain' and 'a playstyle') a playstyle gaining a lot of notoriety thanks to a lot of great matchups across the board, especially against opposing offense. Mega Swampert can be very deadly to several unprepared teams, thanks to outstanding power, bulk, and—under rain—speed.
