Alrighty, it seems like we've got a pretty complete idea of what the cave should look like. Wrap up time!
So this cave has around 6 visitable rooms on our first trip. The first one is a your standard cave room containing the hail trainer, my random hiker, and an ultra ball sitting in a corner(cuz freebees are cool). There is a staircase leading up. Near the stairs is a monk NPC who calls himself Valentino, who asks the player to escort him to Dragon Shrine. Taking him up the staircase leads to a corridor branching in three separate directions, Up, Down, and Right. Going up a brief way leads to Salemence's monk area(where the genies and braille puzzles are found), which I officially dub as Genie Peak. Going down will take you to what looks like a dead end passage blocked by a watery passageway. Out of the player's sight is a waterfall, leading to the path leading up to Kyub. Right by the water's edge is an escape rope just to give the player something for their troubles. Once the waterfall has been traversed, the player will find a bunch of ice slidey puzzles not dissimilar to the ones leading to Regigigas in DPP, as well as some high level pokemon. I imagine this area going down 4 or 5 floors before hitting Kyub himself. Going right will lead to another staircase leading to a room slightly larger then the first room. Going north will take you towards the dragon shrine, being guarded by CoC's Lance cosplayer. Inside the Dragon Shrine you'll find a really awesome looking megazard-x statue, a full restore, and an abnormally high dragon encounter rate. I'm still going to say no to wild fully evolved dragons because dragons have a stupidly high base exp, making grinding really really easy in that room. Feel free to argue with me otherwise, but I think second evos are fine, especially since they evolve soon anyway. Back in the previous room, the cave exit is to the south, but there's a bunch of push blocks blocking the way. A careful player will notice that there is an item ball off to the side and can push the blocks in such a way to find out it's a dawn stone, which evolves snorunt into a froslass. After the strength puzzle, the player finds a channeler lady who says that the snorunts in this cave are weak, and then gives you a glailite saying that maybe you can find a use for them. Just past her is the mighty Lost Trainer Dave(archeologist sprite), who wonders why he let his friends talk him into this expedition. As you move towards the exit, you will find a narrow hallway blocked by a female dragon tamer(do those exist in pokemon?) If you've escorted Valentino from earlier to Dragon Shrine, she'll battle you for the right to pass. Past her are two more tough trainers blocking the exit.

I forget whose idea it was to stick a dawn stone in one of the strength puzzles.
Credit to a lot of people for the strength puzzles and the slippery ice puzzles.
Trainers:
Btw, a lot of the ideas here were things I had while writing this up (funny what happens when you actually sit down and think about stuff). I fleshed out/changed a lot of things around, so if anything I did doesn't strike you right or just doesn't make sense, call me out on it.
Lastly, I just want to thank everyone reading this for sticking around for so long.
Looking ahead, we have a tiny route between the cave and the next town (which should hold a patch of grass and an NPC or two at absolute most). I believe we have all agreed on having a fairy gym next, but should we have that gym here or the next town? What purpose does this town have? What kind of folks are here? Do we have a bunch of hardy hikers due to being in such close proximity to the big mountain? Do we have a more spiritual town worshipping the genies and/or Kyub? What kind of stuff is there for the player to find here?
*edit*
as promised, I've edited in
Creator of Chaos ' gauntlet exit.
