Introduction :

Hello eveybody ! I am WolvrenX , and this is my newest team I made . It do well at PO , but sometimes I feel that there is something wrong with the team . I am not gonna talk a lot in the introduction , please continue .

At A Glance :

Team Making Progress :

I wanted to make a team based on those two guys , because they are TentaScor Deffensive combo . I know that Gliscor is a beast , and Tentacruel is a good supporting pokemon .

Then I knew that Jirachi works well with those guys , and I also thought that I could make it a ParaFlinch Lead . Annoying , Right ?

So , Then I rememberd that Scizor , Forretress , Ferrothorn and some other Steel type Pokemon are very annoying and overpowered pokemon , but can easily be beaten by Magnezone . because it has the Magnet Pull Abllity which is like Arena Trap , and use Hidden Power Fire on them .

Oh , it looks that I have a Ground type weakness , so I just added the Mighty Braviary to suprise and outspeed some other Pokemon with his Choice Scarf .

I wanted somebody who can bulk up some attacks , setup and then destroy ,So I thought Good Ol' Gyarados can do it .

Jirachi- thunder wave<body slam and u-turn? Wish. Make him defensive theonly sweeping Jirachi is a calm mind set
Gliscor-if he is defensive replace SD with a more support move like knock off or toxic
Tentacruel is good
Bravery- frustration is a kinda bad move. This is probably stupid but retaliate? Scarfed revenge KO? I dunno
Magnezone- two electric moves isn't a great idea, maybe run some flash cannon or something
Gyarados- personally, I like to chestiest and then sweep. Dragon tail has negative priority so is useless-ish on a DD set
Overall pretty good team

First off I would like to say, this is a very good defensive team, it deals with various threats in this metagame quite handily.

The weak link here seems to be Braviary, though. Offensively, Staraptor outclasses it almost totally, if you listen to anything I say, at the least switch Braviary for this:

Staraptor (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Intimidate / Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Return / Double Edge
- U-turn
- Close Combat

Your basically using this already, the only thing to add is reckless gives the thing even more power, but with it its gonna go down quickly, for that reason intimidate is still a good option. Also, only double edge and brave bird are affected by reckless.

But, I don’t think either of them quite fit well into this team. After scanning through the threat list, it appears you still have a few threats hanging around. Sun teams are the biggest problems, as pretty much after a growth, Venusaur can sweep your whole team. This is perhaps the biggest problem, an easy fix would be to switch Braviary for Dragonite or Salamence. But you still have other problems, a nasty plot Celebi has the potential to sweep most of your team with ease too, and opposing Magnezones will also be a problem. Also various special threats can be a real pain if Jirachi should go down. There is a secondary special wall which can deal with all of those threats, Latias:

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Dragon Pulse
- Roar / Hidden Power Fire / Substitute

Latias can come in on special attackers, calm mind up, and sweep and/or stall with toxic spikes. Recover heals, and dragon pulse is needed stab. Roar deals with other calm mind pokemon, while HP-fire for steel pokemon that resist dragon, and finally substitute to scout.

Also various move sets are just off:

Jirachi should have wish over u-turn, and a spread of 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spd, with a careful nature. This will allow you to take special hits much better. Also, wish over u-turn to heal the rest of your team up.

Mind explaining the evs on Gliscor? It should have no more then 72 speed, if you can explain it, its fine then, if not, use 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd.

On Tentacruel, I highly suggest you run 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 Spd. The 40 speed evs allow you to outspeed the standard Gliscor set, to kill it as opposed to dieing from earthquake, also other pokemon that outspeed that set by one point.

On Magnezone, consider, just consider, running flash cannon over thunderbolt, might seem odd, but it adds nice coverage. So after you kill that steel pokemon, you don’t have to use that weak hidden power fire for power against pokemon that resist electric. Although I should note, Skarmory escapes you then with whirlwind.

Good luck bro.

Actually, neither Brave Bird nor Superpower are boosted by Sheer Force. Plus, your only counter to rain sweepers is Magnezone, once he is gone, a drizzle team can destroy you. 3 weaknesses to ground and electric is not good for any team. By replacing Tentacruel with Gastrodon, you can solve this problem.
Gastrodon
Leftovers
Scald
Earth Power/Ice Beam
Toxic
Recover
212 HP / 252 Def / 44 SpD
Calm Nature
Basically, since Gastrodon is Water-Ground, Starmie's Thunderbolt nor Hydro Pump will bother it.

Plus, I think you should replace your Braviary with Darmanitan
Darmanitan
Flare Blitz
U-Turn
Rock Slide
Superpower
Choice Scarf
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Darmanitan not only can remove one electric weakness but also has better stats than Braviary. Flare Blitz, unlike Brave Bird, gets a boost from Sheer Force, and so does Rock Slide. It can revenge kill any fire types with Rock Slide, the rest is roughly similar to your original set.

Rock Polish Landorus, Specs Tornadus, Nasty Plot Thundurus, Life Orb Starmie (along with Rain sweepers in General) and Rotom-W look like they pose a threat against your team. The first three get a shot at ripping the team apart on Braviary locked into Superpower, Landorus being able to sweep at +2, while the latter two being able to rip through with boosted moves, Braviary even failing to KO them at full health. LO Starmie and Rotom-W get to switch-in on Tentacruel, the former KOing pretty much any switch-in, as Jirachi doesn't have the bulk and durability due to the lack of Wish and SDefense, while the latter can burn you with W-o-W, then dispatch with T-bolt / Hydro Pump.

Try Choice Scarf Magnezone over SubCharge as your revenge killer instead of Braviary. With no good coverage, it can't really hit most of the sweepers it revenge kills hard enough, and that allows them to just keep going through your team, it also doesn't have a bunch of opportunities to switch into such threats due to its lack of resistances, meaning something will need to go down before braviary can come in. Magnezone isn't usually seen as a Choice Scarfer, so there's surprise value, it can beat Tornadus, Thundurus, Starmie, and Specstoed (if you lure out the correct attack). I find Charge Beam easy to revenge kill once the sub goes down no matter how many boosts you get, due to the subpar speed. Magnezone also has better resistances than Braviary to function as a revenge killer, so it finds more opportunities to switch-in and revenge. It also plays its current role of trapping and killing the majority of the steel types.

With Magnezone working as the Revenge Killer, I find Braviary unneeded on this team, and you could try a Nasty Plot Celebi over Braviary. With Magnezone not functioning as a Special Sweeper anymore, I think Celebi can work great on your team, as it provides further aid against Rain, LO Starmie, Rotom-W, and RP Landorus. With Toxic Spikes crippling Blissey, Celebi has a somewhat easier time with the opponent. It also has Offensive and Defensive synergy with Gyarados, taking care of threats such as Rotom-W, while Gyarados sets up all over Heatran trying to screw over Celebi. Celebi also checks Rock Polish Landorus, as it has the bulk to take its attacks and can hit back hard with Giga Drain. I suggest you go with Earth Power > HP Fire, since Magnezone / Gyara have Scizor covered.

Lastly, I suggest you switch Jirachi to the standard SDefensive spread (252 HP |224 SDef|32 Spe|Careful Nature|Iron Head-Wish-Stealth Rock-Body Slam or Thunder Wave) to defeat threats such as CM/TR Reuniclus easier as well as Latios, who is threatening if your current Jirachi is weakened. Gliscor should also have 252 HP |176 Def|80 Spe to better take on SD Excadrill, Terrakion, and SD Landorus, with enough Speed to beat opposing Gliscor and below (252 Adamant Breloom, Tyranitar). Quiver Dance Volcarona is also a little bit of a problem, and you could try Haze over Ice Beam on Tentacruel to get rid off its boosts, or any other 'mon that tries to set-up on you.

Movesets:

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Fire
- Volt Switch
---

Celebi @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 220 HP / 252 SAtk / 36 Spe - Feel free to adjust HP / Speed EVs as you desire
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain
- Earth Power / Hidden Power Fire / Psychic
- Recover
---

Hi,

Rock Polish Landorus, Thunderus, Tornadus and rain sweepers in general, as LK stated, pose very big threats to your current team. All three can come in on choice locked Braviary to set up RP, NP and launch a powerful Specs attack respecttively. Your pokemon do not have enough defensive bulk to shrug off these attacks, specifically Jirachi and Gliscor, who are very important members to your defensive core. As LK mentioned, TR/CM Reuniclus can be problems, as well as Specs boosted attacks from Latios and the EVs and Moveset LK suggested for Jirachi are ideal to solve those issues. This Jirachi will be great to sponge off attacks, as well as provide valuable recovery in the form of Wish. Jirachi really became a defensive pokemon in BW, and lost its need for Speed EVs. To alleviate the weakness to Landorus and Sand Sweepers in general, who can try using a different spread on Gliscor, 244 HP / 176 Def / 88 Spe, which will allow you maximum Poison Heal recovery and speed creep on opposing Gliscor. Another thing to consider is Protect > Taunt, which is very useful in that it can give you the one turn of recovery that is needed to put you out of the KO range of certain attacks, in my experience a big game changer in some cases.

Additionally, Rotom-w, Gastrodon and NP Celebi can come in relatively unscathed on Gliscor, Tentacruel and Gyarados, and able to set up and launch back Super Effective or STAB boosted attacks. I would really recommend taking LK's suggestion of using Scarf Magnezone over your current set. Again, the EVs and Set he suggested are ideal. This opens up your current revenger Braviary to be replaced with a CM Virizion. Here is the set:

Virizion @ Leftovers | Justified
Timid | 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Calm Mind | Giga Drain | Focus Blast | HP Ice 70

Not only will this allow you to boost with impunity on Celebi (who usually do not run Psychic), and is a very good late game Rain (Starmie, Thunderus) or Excadrill counter. It resists Rotom-w's STAB moves, and allows you to takes out Gastrodon with Giga Drain.

Good luck!
