Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

InfernapeTropius11

get on my level
I decided to try to start Triples by using a Gravity team from the Triples Thread.
Got some funny matches, but only saved one replay.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogontriples-220152985
- Hydro Cannon Torrent Greninja.
- Blast Burn Infernape.
- Lucario using Aura Sphere when its only targets either resist it or are immune.
- Thunder Wave Raichu. I taunted it the turn it went for it because Sableye had literally nothing else to do. Discounting the fact that Thundurus does a fast paralysis better, Raichu gets Nuzzle, which completely invalidates Thunder Wave.

From separate miscellaneous matches:
Mono-ground team.
Magnezone with Magnet Pull, and without Discharge.
A guy whose apparent strategy seemed to be having Scarf Porygon-Z spam Discharge with two Lightning Rod users on the sides. Ignoring the fact that any ground can cockblock the Porygon, he additionally had nothing for Tailwind.
Lack of Sleep Clause in triples.
Stone Edge Landorus-I. Rock Slide not only gets a Sheer Force boost (Or if you're using Sand Force, gets annoying flinches), but is a spread move.
Curse Ferrothorn with no real objective. It also had no recovery to prevent it from being worn down.
Venusaur and Charizard are on your team. What do you do? You Mega Evolve the Venusaur and have Charizard spam Dragon Pulse on a resist when Heat Wave would OHKO two of the active Pokemon.
Blast Burn and Hydro Cannon are teh bestest moovs evah!!!111!! They have 150 BP!! And Greninja is litreally a ninja frog, and nape is awesome no mattre with it does cuz is kewl fire monkey!!1!

Was that a ragequit over losing his sweeper or a "oh my God that was so stupid" quit?

Along those lines, an overall silly thing: when people forget level adjustments in randbats and rage because they just lost their MegaMence to a Glalie or something. I know sometimes you're not on your game and you misplay or something, but randbats is balanced to make sure getting an Uber does not equal an instant win. (You're still screwed if you get Unown, though.)

Come to think of it, scenarios like some 350 BST mon bringing down a pseudo-legendary are pretty hilarious in and of themselves.

Random Shit: No One Likes You When You're 23 Edition

3 FEAR mons here, one of them being Aron without Shell Bell, and BPing +6 Speed to a Bright Powder Forretress. And multiple attempts to Toxic said Forretress.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220818607
Aside from the mons that have no business in AG, Endeavor Blissey.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220816607
Why did it take so long for that guy to mega evolve his Charizard? And other poor times to use some of those moves.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220817596
Shelgon, Leech Life Ninjask, and non-Drizzle Politoed.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-220819186
Dazzling Gleam Sableye and Shadow Claw Tyranitar.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-220817924
Is Sweet Kiss Mega Lopunny normal? Forgetting about Scrappy certainly isn't.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220817065
Pyroar trying to burn Infernape, Rough Skin Sharpedo, Static Manectric, and trying to do effective EQ damage with Shuckle.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-220821481
Magic Bounce comprehension fail. And what I'm assuming to be either Zarel, Joim, or TI dropping some Portal references during a server restart.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220821912
Insomnia comprehension fail.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220823155
Mono Air Balloon with Combusken, Corsola, Body Slam+Draining Kiss Gardevoir, and Bidoof. Yes. Bidoof.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220821894
Among other issues, Hydro Cannon Arceus-Ice.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220822120
Yeah, not much I can say about this one. Other than "What the hell?"

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/balancedhackmons-220823628
Magikarp's ultimate evolution.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220822966
Another battle where you just have to scratch your head. Highlight: Enigma Berry Hyper Beam Steelix.

http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/anythinggoes-220823304
Uh, Serperior, the move you should be abusing is Leaf Storm, not Frenzy Plant.

And finally, a tale of a BH battle I played a few weeks ago.

I lead with Arceus, and my opponent led with Mega Slowbro. Turn 1, we trap each other with Infestation and Mean Look, respectively. Then on turn 2, we both use Perish Song.

We were both Soundproof.

And then my opponent attempts to break the awkwardness by announcing his Slowbro has a Shed Shell. Which arguably just made things worse.

0- SpA Mega Charizard Y Fire Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Exploud in Sun: 310-366 (88.5 - 104.5%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO, which becomes 87.5% with an SpA-neutral nature. So either no EVs plus a low damage roll, or no EVs and a hindering nature. Think about that.

EDIT, because somebody's gonna say AV Exploud: 252+ SpA Exploud Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Charizard Y: 175-207 (58.9 - 69.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO. So it wouldn't have worked. It was probably good ol' Specs, since 252+ SpA Choice Specs Exploud Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Charizard Y: 262-309 (88.2 - 104%) -- 25% chance to OHKO.

It could have been Choice Specs Exploud with 252 SpA and 252 SpD

252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Fire Blast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Exploud in Sun: 303-357 (86.5 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

Still, there was no excuse for that guy to not use Blast Burn <.<
As someone who uses non-Blast Burn Charizard Y in 1v1, I have to disagree. Blast Burn has more immediate power, obviously, but if you plan on being able to take a hit, it's worth it to use a move like Fire Blast that allows you to attack again. You do more damage per two turns that way. (It's especially useful on bulky sets.)

edit: Blast Burn's recharge turn also gives bulky things that aren't OHKO'd a free chance to recover.

Yeah, but, uh, last time I checked, Exploud isn't that bulky and it has no recovery <.<

And your daily dose of AG ridiculousness, starring Serene Grace Ancient Power, Rocky Helmet Squirtle, and more.
Emolga, especially on an otherwise normal OU (+ Greninja) team. Tailwind suicide lead? We'll never know, because it went down on turn 1.
Spiky-Eared Pichu. Pichu is unranked in LC UU, which is pretty much as low as it gets. Why in the name of Arceus would you even think about it?
Riolu. You know what, LC mons at all.
Ivysaur.
Water Shuriken Greninja.
Flamethrower + Blast Burn Charizard (Y, at least). Dat double STAB tho.
Dragon Tail-spamming Mega Blastoise, without hazards up.
Aqua Ring Squirtle. With Rocky Helmet, apparently; I missed that.
Wobbuffet firing off a Destiny Bond when the opposing Togekiss clearly didn't have the raw power to take it down in one hit (the last Ancient Power did 23.8% at +2). Though that might have been for PP conservation.
And finally, the guy with the Spiky-Eared Pichu winning courtesy of Wobbs.

We never got to see the Spiky-Eared Pichu. *sniff*

Are you tired of those boring old dolls as substitutes?
Do you feel guilty of being protected by something that isn't even a Pokemon but a doll?

Well guess what, I know what you need.

You need...

The Scizortute

The Scizortute protect you like you've never been protected before!
Here are things the Scizortute beats against the Substitute!
  • The Scizortute is a big and bulky protection, so it tanks in more damage than the substitute
  • The Scizortute doesn't make you feel embarrassed to have a puny doll protect you :^)
  • The Scizortute is actually Pokemon made (Thanks to the genius Scizors who made this product)
  • The Scizortute protects you from those annoying sound moves like Boomburst and Chatter

The Scizortute is protection that has been proved to be very viable to 100% of the Pokemon that tested it, and that is just why I recommend you to use it.
You may ask how much it costs. Well, it's free! so get one now!

Can you give me directions to the nearest Pokémart please? I want one ;~;

I believe the first of your AG replays contains a Scarf Greninja. Also, Klefki putting up the wrong screen (Light Screen when Ferro has shown Power Whip). I'm not kidding, if you have dual screens or multiple hazards, setting them up in the correct order can save your life.
