Tauros is one of the best Normal-type Pokemon and a great threat due to its great Attack and Speed stat and its Normal typing. It also has great coverage moves that enable it to tackle Pokemon that resist its Normal STAB like Gengar and Rhydon.

Earthquake gives Tauros a way to take care of Gengar, Fire Blast is used to try to make losing matchups against Snorlax a possible win with getting a burn and also win against opposing Grass-types like Venusaur and Exeggutor. Blizzard can also hit Venusaur and Exeggutor, but can also be used to fish for a freeze in losing matchups against Snorlax, Starmie, Slowbro, and Chansey.
