Pros:
- Extensive support movepool with access to Stealth Rock, Trick Room, as well as the highly coveted Screens + Memento combo
- Good mixed bulk allows it to come in multiple times without to set-up screens or TR
- Good speed for a defensive Pokemon
- New access to Nasty Plot, Draining Kiss and Stored Power means Uxie can potentially run a boosting set.

Cons:
- Mono-Psychic is not a good defensive typing in a metagame where the Bugs and Ghosts are top tier threats.
- Lack of reliable recovery moves
- Lack of immediate firepower, making it extremely passive
- Faces stiff competition from Latios and Grimmsnarl for its Screens set
- Generally outclassed by Cresselia on any set not running Stealth Rock or Memento

Potential Sets

Trick Room Support

Uxie @ Mental Herb / Red Card
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Relaxed Nature
- Trick Room
- Stealth Rock
- Memento / U-turn
- Magic Coat / U-turn / Yawn

Uxie is arguably the best suicude leads for Trick Room due to its immense bulk, access to Stealth Rock and Memento in one neat package. Less than a handful of Pokemon can OHKO Uxie from full, and they all have to lock themselves into a move which Magearna can take advantage of. The main advantage of Uxie over Diancie (the main TR suicide lead competition) is threefold - access to Magic Coat to get both SR + TR against double-Taunt users, lack of an abusable 4x weakness, and Memento, which allows sweepers like Crawdaunt to basically get a free SD.

Dual Screens
Uxie @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpD
Impish Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Memento
- Stealth Rock / U-turn / Safeguard

Uxie is one of the only OU viable mons that has access to screens + Memento (the other being Latios). This is an incredibly powerful combination of moves which allows even the frailest of mons to get at least 1 turn to set-up. With snowballing instant-win conditions such as Blaziken and Naganadel in the tier, a free turn of set-up can often be game-ending. In previous generations, Latios was usually better than Uxie in the role due to its greater speed which allowed it to put up a layer of screens before it got hit. But we now have a bunch of faster or harder-hitting threats that can outspeed or OHKO Latios through screens but not Uxie such as Genesect and Dragapult, which brings a lot of value to Uxie's bulk over Latios.

Other Options
A slow boosting set with NP or CM + Draining Kiss, but Magearna has a better typing for such a set.
