Warstory #1: - aaymon86 Vs. Slice-T_A!!

So I made a new team on Shoddy that doesn’t involve the usual physical wall and Blissey and decided to test it on the ladder. Going in, I had NO idea what was coming, so I was rather shocked to have an intense and very fun battle. Hope you guys enjoy!

Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause

aaymon86’s Team(I know most of them are OU, but I like all of these guys)

Slice-T_A’s Team (in order of appearance)

aaymon86 sent out Salamence
Slice-T_A sent out
Gengar
Salamence's intimidate cut Gengar's attack!

Oh snap he has a Gengar too. Normally the ones I run into are scarf’d and have HP Ice and I just realized my team is weak to most of his standard moves. I quickly switch to my underrated wall.

aaymon86 switched in
Shuckle
Gengar used Hypnosis.
Shuckle fell asleep!
Shuckle -100% -Sleep | Gengar – 100% - minus 1 attack

That sucks. At least he didn’t sleep any of my sleepers. Since he used hypnosis instead of HP Ice, he can either not have HP Ice and not be scarf or be scarf with hypnosis and be locked in that move. I chose the latter and decided to switch to Tyranitar to test if he does Shadow ball.

aaymon86 switched in

Bronzong
The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar -100% - | Bronzong– 100%

A Bronzong eh? Those things can usually get their jobs done with little resistance. Since I predict a stealth rock, I’ll just use this opportunity to set up a sub(Yes I use the Boah set. He’s a beast on shoddy, and Imo I think he’s the most effective of all Tyranitars imo).

Tyranitar used Substitute.
Tyranitar lost 25% of its health.
Tyranitar made a substitute!
Bronzong used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar -75% - Sub| Bronzong– 100%

Yes! got the sub up with full health. For some reason I thought that dark pulse would do more damage than focus punch so I just went with that.

Tyranitar used Dark Pulse.
Bronzong lost 38% of its health.
Tyranitar lost 10% of its health.( He was actually supposed to have leftovers, but it’s all good)
Bronzong used Gyro Ball.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for
Tyranitar!
The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar -65% - Sub | Bronzong– 62%

Yes just like I predicted, since Tyranitar is so slow, gyro ball won’t break the sub in one hit. I don’t like how little dark pulse is doing, so I decided to experiment and use focus punch instead.

Tyranitar is tightening its focus!
Bronzong used Gyro Ball.

Bronzong lost 47% of its health.

Tyranitar -55% | Bronzong– 15%

Damn, so his Bronzong is more special defense oriented(I keep of forgetting standard Bronzong are). Either way, focus punch would have been a 3-KO anyway so at least I learned what to do next time.

Slice-T_A: wierd

Tyranitar -30% | Bronzong– Fainted

I decidea to make another sub to try again, but my opponent is very smart. He used explosion to not only break my sub, but provide himself a safe switch in and making me waste 25% of my health. Should have just dark pulsed right away…

6-5

Here is where I make a mistake. The Earthquake is a obvious thing to do against a
Tyranitar, especially if you’re a Garchomp, but I predicted that he would do sword dance predicting may switch and screwed me over in the long run, so I decided to stay in a set up another sub, seeing what he would do. I would have switch in Gengar on the Earthquake, but I would be able to OHKO Garchomp because I don’t run HP Ice on him.

Damn I mis predicted. Since I didn’t see a 10% loss, I assume than he is Choice Scarf’d and decided to switch in my
Salamence for a free switch in. If he wasn’t he would be able to OHKO(Unless he ran Outrage for some reason) with dragon claw Salamence because of the intimidate. I went with the latter.

Sweet, he may have resisted the Draco Meteor but the critical hit made up for it. I switch him out for Shuckle fearing that his Heatran is scarf’d and will murder my Salamence with dragon pulse. I would have switched in Lucario , but even resisted he takes about 36% from a dragon pulse and I didn’t want him to get him severely weakened.

Sword dancing set eh? I decided to make a VERY risky move by using focus blast. I can either miss it and get sent to the afterlife by Lucario ‘s Crunch, have Slice-T_A switch in his
Gengar and get a free switch in, or by some divine miracle have him stay in risking the miss and I hit him with the one of the coolest looking special attacks in the game.

Props:
-For Gengar taking out tyranitar preventing a sweep the rest of my team.
-For Specs Luke for revenge killing and being awesome as always.
-For Shuckle proving that he can be an awesome wall.
-For battling such a great battler as Slice-T_A and providing a fun match.
-And for Slice-T_A for convincing to make my first warstory ever.

Slops:
-Keeping Yyranitar on a Garchomp. Never do that against one of the most powerful ground types in the standard game.
-Wasting Garchomp like that, he deserved better than that.
-Not sacrificing Salamence against Slice-T_A’s Garchomp, that was a very stupid move on my part, and that prob. Cost me the entire match.

Overall it was a good match. Please let me know if there are things I should improve upon when making a warstory. Hope you guys liked it!

I couldn't bear reading this. All the colored text of pokemon names hurt my eyes, especially how bright Shuckle was and how pale Lucario was, not to mention how I saw at least different names in a single paragraph a few times.

For color coding text, i think its best to have one color for all your pokes, one for theirs, and one for chat.

What a great battle. Props to you and Slice.

Just out of curiosity, what was your Gengar holding?
Thanks. My Gengar was holding a choice scarf. Since I see Tyranitar alot on Shoody, focus sash is useless and since I was running one myself, life orb damage + sandstorm + possible stealth rock means he'd only survive 2-3 turns. I've used him with some great success.

Nice battle , i liked reading it

you really gave it , slice gave it , ending in a great warstory *props*

though those colors got annoying , thanks for deleting those....

I thought so. I guess Scarf is the best item to be held be a Gengar.

Heatran held Life Orb. And yes, scarfgar is the closest you can get to a perfect lead.

And what is you're T tar's speed? It normally breaks boah's sub
