[SET COMMENTS]

Unlike its more offensively oriented Choice item sets, this Dragapult set goes for a more multifunctional approach. Dragapult's unmatched Speed tier, in conjunction with STAB Dragon Darts, allows it to snipe key offensive threats such as Roaring Moon, Iron Moth, and Cinderace with some prior chip damage. This often means that Dragapult will force a lot of switches which can be capitalized on with Will-O-Wisp to spread status and power up Hex. Will-O-Wisp also allows Dragapult to avoid Sucker Punch, which can come in handy against Cinderace, Kingambit, and Meowscarada. With a burn and Stealth Rock up, Hex 2HKOs Defensive Corviknight, Amoonguss, and Dondozo, allowing Dragapult to pick apart balanced cores. Finally, U-Turn rounds out the set, letting Dragapult keep momentum up even against hard counters like Ting-Lu and Garganacl. 252 Speed EVs with a Hasty nature ensure that Dragapult outspeeds the entire unboosted tier. 76 Attack EVs ensure an OHKO on Roaring Moon with Dragon Darts, while the rest of the EVs are put into Special Attack. Although Dragapult does not typically find itself needing to Terastallize very often, Ghost is most commonly used to power up Hex even further. For example, Tera Ghost Hex does a minimum of 84% to a burnt Defensive Great Tusk. In a pinch however, Terastallization can be used defensively to avoid OHKOs like from Chien-Pao's Ice Shard.

Because of the amount of utility it provides, Dragapult appreciates plentiful chip damage from its teammates, as it lacks immediate power. All forms of entry hazards are greatly appreciated due to Dragapult's ability to force out the opponent, so entry hazard setters like Garganacl, Great Tusk, Glimmora and Ting-Lu form good teammates. Stealth Rock is particularly important since it secures important 2HKOs with Hex. Among the entry hazard setters, Garganacl has fantastic synergy with Dragapult, as it is able to set up Stealth Rock while also chipping down foes with Salt Cure. Partners that can spread status such as Rotom-W and Skeledirge are also excellent teammates. Since Ting-Lu and Garganacl stonewall this set, teammates that scare them out such as Offensive Great Tusk and Banded Meowscarada are great partners. Tera Flying Covert Cloak Gholdengo forms a particularly potent Ghost spam core with Dragapult, as it can turn common counters to Dragapult such as Ting-Lu, Clodsire, and Garganacl into setup fodder. Physical sweepers like Chien-Pao and Kingambit appreciate having their counters like Corviknight and Great Tusk crippled with burns and have solid type synergy with Dragapult. Due to this set being most potent in the mid- to late-game, it's more at home in teams with solid defensive backbones that can sponge hits. Defensive pokemon such as Ting-Lu, Hatterene, Great Tusk, Clodsire, and Amoonguss can all soak damage for Dragapult from common checks like Garganacl, Ting-Lu, and Kingambit while setting up entry hazards, spreading status, or dealing chip damage, allowing Dragapult to clean up later in the game.

Unlike its more offensively oriented Choice Specs and Band sets, Utility Dragapult trades raw offensive power for a more multifunctional approach. Dragapult's unmatched speed tier in conjunction with STAB Dragon Darts allows it to snipe key offensive threats such as Roaring Moon, Iron Moth and Cinderace with some prior chip damage. This often means that Dragapult will force a lot of switches which can be capitalized on with Will-O-Wisp to spread status and power up Hex. With a Burn and Stealth Rock up, Hex 2HKO's Defensive Corviknight, Amoonguss and Dondozo, allowing Dragapult to pick apart balanced cores. Finally, U-Turn rounds out the set, letting Dragapult keep momentum up even against hard counters like Ting-Lu and Garganacl. 252 Speed EVs with a Hasty nature ensure Dragapult outspeeds the entire tier unboosted. 60 76 Atk EV's ensure a OHKO on Roaring Moon with Dragon Darts while the rest of the EV's are put into SpA. Although Utility Dragapult does not typically find itself needing to Terastallize very often, Ghost Tera is most commonly used to power up Hex even further. Also mention some defensive application for Terastallizing Dragapult, like avoiding the OHKO from Chien-Pao's Ice Shard.

Since Utility Dragapult lacks the immediate offensive power of its Banded or Specs'd brethren, plentiful chip damage from the rest of team is critical. All forms of entry hazards are greatly appreciated due to Dragapult's ability to force switches. Stealth Rock is particularly important since it secures important 2HKO's with Hex. Garganacl has fantastic synergy with Dragapult being able to set up Stealth Rock while also chipping down teams with Salt Cure. Name more hazard setters than just Garganacl Partners that can spread status such as Rotom-W and Skeledirge are also excellent teammates. Since Ting-Lu and Garganacl stonewall this set, teammates that scare them out such as Offensive Great Tusk and Banded Meowscarada form great partners. In return, Dragapult can deal with Corviknight which both Great Tusk and Meowscarada appreciate being gone. Dragapult isn't really the greatest Corviknight answer around, even when burnt Brave Bird still does ~30%. Tera Flying Covert Cloak Gholdengo forms a particular potent GhostSpam core with Dragapult and as it can turn common counters to Dragapult such as Ting-Lu, Clodsire and Garganacl into setup fodder. Due to this set being most potent in the mid to lategame, it's more at home in teams with solid defensive backbones that can sponge hits. Defensive pokemon such as Ting-Lu, Hatterene, Great Tusk, Clodsire and Amoongus can all soak damage for Dragapult while setting up hazards, spreading status or dealing chip damage allowing Dragapult to clean up later in the game. I recommend adding some details about Pokemon who appreciate their checks being burnt, as having key Pokemon (like Scizor) burnt can drastically open up the offensive potential of other Pokemon (like Chien-Pao). It also should be mentioned somewhere that WoW allows you to avoid Sucker Punch.

FYI Naive / 52 Att / 8 Def /196 SpA / 252 Spe still always OHKOs 4/0 Moon and only misses out on min roll vs 0/4. However, neutral defence with 8 EVs guarantees survival vs Jolly Tusk's Knock and Cinderace's Sucker, while offering 12.5% survival vs Jolly Chien's CB Ice Shard, which is worth something in an otherwise 100% lost endgame.

52 Atk Dragapult Dragon Darts (2 hits) vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Roaring Moon: 352-420 (100 - 119.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
52 Atk Dragapult Dragon Darts (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Roaring Moon: 348-412 (99.1 - 117.3%) -- approx. 93.8% chance to OHKO

252 Atk Great Tusk Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 8 Def Dragapult: 268-316 (84.5 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Libero Cinderace Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 8 Def Dragapult: 266-314 (83.9 - 99%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Sword of Ruin Chien-Pao Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 8 Def Dragapult: 312-368 (98.4 - 116%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO

I'm not sure why Hasty is the recommended nature in any case, especially because it makes Sucker Punch a possible OHKO roll from both Meow and Ace for peak mind games. Burn should be considered complementary to neutral defence, not compensation for lowered defence (i.e. Naive still makes sense to reduce damage from burned Dondozo etc. on the Will-O-Wisp turn). That difference in damage really matters without recovery.

0 Atk burned Dondozo Liquidation vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Dragapult: 32-38 (10 - 11.9%) -- possible 9HKO
0 Atk burned Dondozo Liquidation vs. 0 HP / 8 Def Dragapult: 28-34 (8.8 - 10.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever

It may be worth mentioning that Tera Ghost Hex always OHKOs 0/4 Tusk (372 min damage, which is satisfyingly efficient) after switching into Toxic Spikes.

196 SpA Tera Ghost Dragapult Hex (130 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Great Tusk: 372-438 (100.2 - 118%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Implemented. I replaced the burnt Sciz example with Corv and Tusk because burnt Sciz still does like 75% to Chien.

Great post! In general I think some discussion is merited for the EV spread. I'm not sure what if any current meta relevant benchmarks the 76Atk/180SpA hits. The team I can find with the current spread was made by Steez Ibanez https://pokepast.es/52fc1ceeddfa0fa6. This was before Chiyu, Ape and Cyc bans. A more recent spread that I personally like is Vrin's spread 96 Atk / 204 SpA / 208 Spe from this team: https://pokepast.es/eda767fdc28b5457. Speed outspeeds +Spe Skewda and only misses the tie against other Pult (which you cant OHKO anyway), attack 2HKO's glimmora most of the time and 2hko's clodsire with SR + Spikes and 1 round of leftovers. Thanks to SetsuSetsuna for telling me this. I temporarily left in the old spread for now, but if theres no current benchmarks for it, we should move to one of the newer spreads.

Implemented everything but the secondary effect bit of Covert Cloak. It feels weird to go into the details of Covert Cloak Gholdengo interactions on Pult's analysis. I'll put it in if you insist though. GP Team
