Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Cloud Nine
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 96 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Return
- Heal Bell / Earthquake

Mega Altaria can switch into some Pokemon that trouble Jirachi such as Mega Charizard, Landorus-T, Garchomp and Tyranitar. Mega Altaria can run Heal Bell to set up on Water-types and Mega Sableye which wall Jirachi. However, you can also opt for Earthquake so that Mega Altaria can lure Magnezone and Heatran which are annoying for both members.

Jirachi helps Mega Altaria to take care of bulky Fairy-types which it doesn't like at all. It is recommended for Jirachi to run a Fire-type move (over Stealth Rock or Body Slam) to help remove Ferrothorn and hurt Mega Scizor so that Mega Altaria can sweep easier.

Heracross @ Heracronite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance / Bullet Seed
- Close Combat
- Pin Missile
- Rock Blast

Specially defensive Jirachi covers Heracross' weakness to fairy types and Heracross in return handles dark types quite well. Heracross also loves the paralysis support Jirachi provides as well as the slow U-turns to get easy switch-ins to start breaking things. Jirachi tends to lure in things like Heatran, Hippowdon, Garchomp, and Landorus-T. Heracross handily deals with slow or paralyzed Heatrans and can do considerable damage to Hippo by boosting with SD or opting to run Bullet Seed. With the slow U-turn out of Lando-T, Heracross doesn't get Intimidated and is able to SD up on Lando-T, while Pin Missile 2HKOs Fat Chomp and doesn't take recoil damage. The pair is weak to Talonflame though Jirachi being able to set up rocks helps with that slightly.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 176 Def / 68 SpA / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Thunderbolt / Volt Switch
- Roost
- Defog / Hidden Power Ice
- Heat Wave

Zapdos handles ground type attacks, keldeo, physical dark-type attackers, and talonflame, all of which threaten Jirachi. Zapdos can run volt switch to form a Volt-Turn core, as well as hidden power ice to lure ground types. Heat wave removes steels which prove annoying to jirachi as it lacks fire punch. In return, Jirachi takes on powerful special attacks which zapdos is less suited for, as well as beating fairies (namely clefable) and taking rock and ice type attacks.
Overall, these two can form a nice defensive backbone for many teams as they handle a multitude of threats, set hazards and remove them, and form a VoltTurn core, all of this in just two mons. They probably need some support on setup-sweepers such as Zard-X and sand teams in general, but seems decent to me. Hippowdon and gliscor seem like two good additions to the core but I digress,
Thanks for reading.

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Focus Blast / Grass Knot

Thundurus is able to handle Water-types (and Talonflame) which wall Jirachi while also being able to switch into Garchomp and Landorus-T due to it's Flying-typing. Focus Blast is an option for Thundurus to destroy Tyranitar, Magnezone and Ferrothorn. However, Grass Knot is viable to lure in and KO Hippowdon. In return, Jirachi helps to handle Fairy-types such as Clefable, Mega Gardevoir and Mega Altaria while also being able to switch into faster attackers such as Alakazam and Scarfed Dragon-type or Ice-type moves.

Volcarona @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz

Volcarona is a great offensive partner for Life Orb Alakazam because it can set-up on or defeat common switch-ins to Alakazam such as Mega Sableye, Mega Scizor, Klefki (with Lum Berry) and Jirachi. Volcarona's dual STABs also allows it to deal huge damage to Bisharp, Weavile, Reuniculus and Lati@s who can cause problems for Alakazam.

In return, Alakazam helps Volcarona to defeat Keldeo (since this set doesn't carry Passho Berry) , Terrakion, Scarf Tyranitar, Tentacruel and Dragalge. Its base 120 Speed also allows it to dent Mega Charizard, Mega Altaria and Heatran which can be bothersome. If you choose Volcarona as a partner, you can choose either Thunder Wave or Taunt as the fourth move. Thunder Wave helps to lure Tornadus-T, Dragon Dance users and Scarfed Pokemon while Taunt shuts down Chansey and other walls. Both are viable so pick the move according to your team.

Diance @Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 24 Atk / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Protect
- HP Fire
Pretty obvious. Diance takes out sabeleye and lures in Scizor and hits it with hp fire. Also checks Talonflame and TornT. Zam beats bulky poisons like venu and shreds most defensive cores that are annoying.

Mega Manectric.

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Overheat / Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Ice

Mega Manectric is one of the best partners to LO Alakazam for several reasons. Mega Maectric can eliminate multiple threats to Alakazam, including Scizor and Bisharp. In return, Alakazam can deal with Mega Manectric's checks and counters, including Clefable, Chansey, multiple bulky Ground types, and Mega Venusaur.

Heatran @ Leftovers

Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt

Heatran's ability to handle Steels like Scizor and Skarmory, Psychics like Celebi and Jirachi, Fairies like Clefable and Klefki as well as Talonflame who can easily revenge kill Alakazam. The core loses to Slowking and Gliscor though, so you need partners that can get ris of these as well.

Bisharp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch / Pursuit
- Iron Head

Alakazam can remove most Fighting-types as well as create free turns or a switch-in for Bisharp through use of Encore. This gives Bisharp the opportunity to setup and sweep or break Walls. It could also Pursuit trap bulky Psychic-types that Alakazam would otherwise have a little trouble with.

Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance

Sets up Stealth Rock to wear down enemies so that Alakazam can break through easier. Swords Dance Garchomp can also beat Talonflame, Scizor and Chansey, all of which Alakazam struggle against. In return, LO Alakazam deals with Clefable, Keldeo, Lati@s and Thundurus, which Garchomp dislikes.

Pokemon: Keldeo

Keldeo-Resolute @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald/Surf
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Fire]/Icy Wind

Description: Keldeo is able to reliable beat most Alakazam counters namely Bisharp, [Mega]Scizor,Tyranitar, and Weavile without Alakazam having to worry so much about hitting focus blasts. Alakazam also helps Keldeo by weakening or beating some on its counters like Mega Venasur, Lati twins to some extent and Starmie.

Reserving Skarmory.

SkarmChomp blablabla, done !
Okay, but seriously.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind / Taunt

Skarmory + Garchomp form an excellent defensive core for semi-stall and balanced teams for a number of reasons. First off, is the excellent type synergy these two have. Garchomp switches into the Electric and Fire types that threaten Skarmory, while in return, Skarmory switches into the Dragon and Fairy types that plague Garchomp. This core also forms a solid Hazard Stacking core that can easily wear down the opponents team with hazards thanks to Whirlwind and Taunt.

Hoopa @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Psychic
- Knock Off / Grass Knot

Hoopa is a kick-ass spinblocker with insane SpD and great power. Knock Off or Grass Knot is team dependent.

Alakazam @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic / Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam / Encore / Protect

Mega-Alakazam and Bulky Garchomp have a truly symbiotic relationship. Mega Zam is tied for the fastest unboosted mon in the tier, but it's lack of bulk leaves it prone to priority, particularly from Mega-Scizor, Talonflame, Bisharp, and Azumarill. Mega Zam also struggles with some walls like Hippowdon and Ferrothorn. Tank Chomp running a move set of SR/Fire Blast/Toxic/Dragon Tail provides Zam solid support against all of these mons. Residual damage from Toxic and SR is likewise immensely helpful in weakening opposing squads for a Mega Zam sweep. Zam's final move slot is dependent on team needs. Dazzling Gleam is nice to get big damage off on Mega-Sableye and Mega-Altaria, and as a more reliable answer to Weavile and Kyu-B than Focus Blast. Encore can stop opposing set up sweepers or stall out recovery. Protect eases prediction against scarfers and allows Zam to mega evolve safely. This pair really appreciates the support of a steel type - something like Skarmory, Heatran, or even Klefki. Klef and Skarm are particularly cool options because they form a hazard stacking core with Chomp.

reserving mega altaria

Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Frustration
- Earthquake
- Roost

Standard DD Mega Altaria makes a good partner for tank Garchomp since its natural bulk + rough skin and Rocky Helmet help to weaken physical attackers that threaten Altaria, the most important being steel types such as Scizor and Jirachi. The access to Stealth Rock also helps to keep things like Dragonite and Talonflame in check, whose priority can make an Altaria sweep difficult. While the type synergy could be better due to a weakness to both ice and fairy types, both can easily be covered with the other four team slots.

Reserving calm mind clefable. Will be done tonight in about 12 hours as im stuck on a mobile till then

Death Incarnate (Clefable) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Calm Mind
- Soft-Boiled

The Aim of this clefable set is to spread paralysis and Calm mind for game yet it hates fast physical steel Types like Scizor, Metagross and Bisharp. This is where Garchomp comes in who Not only has great defensive synergy with clefable by resisting poisen but Dealing with these Physical steel types by Punishing them for Spaming there stabs and then nailing them with earthquake. In return Clefable Deals with the likes of Weavile, Kyurem and Lati@s whom would otherwise Wreck chomp as well as Spreading T-wave to deal with other fast threats. Its not a perfect pairing as genger and Hoopa remain threats but the 2 cover each other quite well otherwise. Moonblast is obvious stab, T-wave to weaken fast threats and calm mind and soft boiled to round it out

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Atk / 16 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost

Mega Scizor and Garchomp have great type synergy, fully resisting each other's weaknesses. Fat Chomp is threatened by the likes of Weavile, Kyurem-Black, Mamoswine, Latios, Mega Diancie, Mega Altaria, Mega Gardevoir, Clefable and Azumarill among other things. Mega Scizor is a great check to most of these pokemon, only fearing fire type lure moves. In return, Garchomp handily checks Talonflame, Victini and Heatran while also taking on Zards and Volcarona pretty well. These two mons also work well together because Garchomp's residual damage allows Scizor to clean up weakened threats with Bullet Punch. With the bulky set, Scizor can more reliably check things for Garchomp and provides a secondary Bisharp, Metagross and Lopunny check if Garchomp is overwhelmed.

Let's take a look at fat chomp here. he's a pokemon that is meant to be a lead, setting up SR and giving the Metronome finger to physical attackers. With Endure, it can, well, endure attacks and at 1% if the hax are in your favor can take down a physical attack.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SpD / 80 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock / Fire Punch
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Body Slam

Then we have pivot Jirachi. While SR may not be ideal, Fire Punch can be. What Pivot Jirachi does is be a pivot into and out of certain pokemon and lure in others. The 2 also have nice synergy, with Fire and Fighting (since most are physical) attacks being taken by FatChomp, and all of FatChomp's weaknesses being covered by Jirachi. Jirachi can also U-Turn into Chomp taking whatever. Also Paraflinching to wear down the opponent's Fairy, Ice, or Dragon.

Of course Gengar. With that said, Hoopa-U is a nice partner for these 2, as Jirachi's remaining weaknesses are covered by it. You could also opt for Double Dance Mega Slowbro if you think you can sponge Dark and Ghost moves, but that's a dumb idea.

Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Return
- Fake Out
- Power-Up Punch

Garchomp excels at wearing down threats to Lopunny such as Mega Metagross, Landorus-Therain and Talonflame so that Lopunny can sweep later on. In return, Lopunny pressures bulky defensive Pokemon which Garchomp couldn't touch such as Hippowdon, physically defensive Clefable and Mega Sableye. Lopunny can also revenge kill Electrics and Weavile thanks to its base 135 Speed.

Stolen from the OU Cores Workshop thread.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire
- Synthesis

Mega Venusaur checks Fairy-types, bulky Waters and Electric-types for Garchomp. In return, Garchomp takes on Heatran, Mega Metagross and Talonflame which plague Mega Venusaur.

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Superpower / Knock Off

Choice Band Azumarill is a pretty solid partner for Offensive Support Latias for numerous reasons. Latias switches into and can take on the Grass and Electric types that Azumarill hates. In return, Azumarill can take on the Dark and Ice types that plague Latias's existence. Azumarill also can weaken or take out Chansey for Latias. Latias's Healing Wish can give Azumarill a second chance to break down physical walls.

Feraligatr @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Iron Tail / Superpower / Ice Punch

So, in trying to find a partner for HW Latias, I wanted to use a sweeper that could utilize the "second chance" that Latias provides. Feraligatr fit this bill nicely with its 85/100/83 bulk and excellent typing, both of which allow for ample set up opportunities. DD + Waterfall are obligatory moves for Gatr, and Crunch was chosen to threaten opposing Latis. The last slot is actually quite adaptable to team needs. As gimmicky as it may seem, Iron Tail lures in Clef and Altaria and returns huge damage, something that Latias appreciates greatly. Superpower hits Ferrothorn in particular (another threat to Latias). Lastly, Ice Punch gets some nice super-effective coverage, considering Ice is one of the best offensive move types. Likewise, Latias is a nice partner because it threatens/checks Keld, Mana, TankChomp, Venu/Amoong and Electrics - all things that Gatr would rather not take on itself.
