Im just gonna sort stuff into categories I like too many songs equally to do it otherwise
Video game music I like
BABA YETU: civ IV
Though Civ V will always be the better game Baba Yetu is the reason I go back to Civ IV every now and again. This song makes you think about how we got here.
RISING SUN: Okami
To those who sing megalovania's praises as being a song that represents the player rather then the boss, this one did it first and way better IMO
MAIN THEME: Simcity 2013
Sure the game wasn't the best but this song is amazing. It really has this feeling of grandure and the way it slowly swells really encompasses the feeling you get from a city building game.
MEGALOVANIA: Undertale/some other stuff
Yeah I still like Megalovania too much to not include it. Undertale is currently the most unanimously praised game on the internet and I like this song for the same reasons everybody else does
ALPHA: Minecraft
A game that was tainted by a shitty reputation, I still really like Minecraft and when I first got it I "played through" the whole game in two days. I still remember just how amazed I was when the ending came about.
Anime music I like
FLYERS: Death Parade -Bradio
Death Parade was a pretty damn good show that despite being entirely centered around death managed to avoid slipping into edgy territory and I think the soundtrack dissonance from this song played a large part in that.
HIKARI NO SENRITSU: Sound of the Sky -Kalafina
This song is the first thing that let me onto the fact that Sound of the Sky wasn't gonna be a normal slice of life and I love it to this day.
LIBERA ME FROM HELL: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan -like three different groups I dunno
This song is hype and the wird combination of a latin choir and rap sync so well with another. More rap choir hybrids should exist.
Classical Music I like
ODE TO JOY:
The fact that Beethoven would've never heard this piece and could only imagine it amazes me. There's a reason why this is the anthem of Europe.
GRANADA:
The little Spanish city with the hypest theme of any individual place
1812 OVERTURE:
Probably the most iconic piece of classical music ever, and for good reason, the use of cannons is genius.
Rock Music I like
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY -Queen
I dunno I think this is rock.
POMPEII -Bastille
Indie rock is still rock right? Normally I'm not one for deep meanings but this song is interpreted in so many ways and provides just enough hints to support them all.
T.N.T -ACDC
'straya
I listen to a tonne of other things from electronic to hardstyle to opera but these are the main ones. Also there are way too many songs from movies I like to put on this list.
